I reached the second island and did one or two missions there.
Did everything possible in the first one before moving on, too.
The game gets insane hiccups, but once it is finished loading assets for the area, the game runs semi-smoothly. Unless there's lots of fire around, in this case the game shits itself every two steps.

I just use webm for retards. You need to use vp9 and two-pass encoding, though I've tried it with command line ffmpeg it comes out unable to play on my browser whereas webm for retards does.

Well the audio waveform helps a lot. It allows you to easily jump forward to the good parts. But the more important thing is that these animated ones are at least not as low effort as the other audio webms. There was a time when I bunch of anons got obsessed with these soundtrack webm's, and they would spam like 50 of them in a single thread. Because, well feel free to correct me here, but I'd say that it is not that easy to just pull 50 of those animated webm's out of your ass, as it is with non animated music clips.

I like your remixes but on a personal side i prefer vocal tracks in 80s music. I t elevates it from neo 80s pixelshit indies into people who are legit and have some talent.

It's simple, really. Drifting makes your vehicle lose energy. A lot of it. All that rubber smoke, all that noise - it's energy lost due to friction. When you round a corner, you want to keep as much forward momentum as possible while keeping to the curve of the swing. Drifting achieves the second criteria, but is pretty terrible at the first one. If you want to round a corner without losing too much speed, you either follow the outside of the corner (which technically means a longer route, but can be caught up due to less speed loss), or keeping to the inside of the corner and then going to the outside when doing the turn (which does require you to slow down).
