Destiny 2 gets its first expansion: nobody appears to care

Destiny 2 gets its first expansion: nobody appears to care

So we all remember Bungies contract with Activision. If D2's season pass is a bomb -and the base game already sold far less than the first and has had a colossal player retention issue are we about to see some firings at Bungie?

Because real talk: before i made this post did you know this shit came out today? did you even know it existed at all?

sources nigger

What's the actual contract state? Is it a EA/Zenimax style we'll take your company away contract?

If they fail to release a physical release each year AND make below a certain amount the IP and all physical assetts default to activision. Bungie is fired from their own game and kicked out of Bungie HQ.

You do and therefore KYS.

...

I understand we are currently under siege from another Holla Forums attention war but come on son at least pretend you are from around here.

Is there a downside to any of this? The developers are free from their own personal hell, the game has even more bad PR, and Activision gets to stew in the shitstorm they created out of this game that was never really that good in the first place. The game will slowly lose more and more players until it reaches Lawbreakers levels, Activision will take over and fuck it up even harder, and we can add them to the list of butthurt publishers right next to EA when their stock price tanks.

So… again, is there a downside to this?

I dunno what ailment of the soul made people addicts to destiny, but I'd guess it was the particulars of its loot skinnerbox.
d2 fucking that up hilariously means that the only cure for destiny addicts was the sequel. it's that drug that makes you violently ill if you have a smoke, in vidya form

I think its people that go either "H-halo 3-2 any day now!" or "M-marathon spiritual sequel, just one more QoL patch!" that want something they will never have.

I think we're seeing a kickback from the season pass shenanegins a lot of people got burnt on the GOTY expansion having all of the content from every past expansion rolles into one including limited edition content.

That in combination with the lootbox nonsense has to be turning people away pretty hard. That and the horrible story that the first game had.

It was mentioned on a vidya news site I frequent so yes.

I just wanted to play space gunslinger with my space wizard and space knight buddies.

Fuck destiny for being such a ridiculous disappointment in every aspect.

Neva Fogetti this Spaghetti

That actually seems like a net positive for bungie considering that Destiny turned them into Activision slaves

It's because it was the first big new shooter on the new generation consoles. That's it. That's the only reason anyone cares.

Meanwhile

A shame, there's need of a normie containment franchise now that call of duty is dead.

GTA online is the new normalfag blackhole, even more than minecraft nowadays.

I legit forgot this expansion was coming out and I'm guessing normalfags give more of a shit about Xenoblade or other games coming out.

We have begun to heal as a people.

KISS KISS KISS DADDY

I aint buying pseudo-console for titties though.
I'll emulate it in a few years, like every single Xeno game before, that's for sure.

I see allot of people getting fired next year from Bungie.

Didn't you make this exact thread like a week ago?

Its a single player MMO
Despite the top tier art design of the world and some neat movement options it all feels static as shit.

Either actually find me an mmo that plays anything like Xenoblade or fuck right off with your parroted memes.

Black Desert Online

What a crazy year it has been for AAA gaming. Bombs and mediocre sales everywhere.

I expected FF14 or one of its clones, since they're similar on the surface, but BDO? It's like you played neither Xenoblade nor BDO.

got kicked out of the mall for pissing on a kids face when I went to buy destiny 2. anyone else have that happen fellow gamers?

Can't say that I have, I just raped a poc woman but they let me go while laughing since I'm white.

They will suffer the same fate as Respawn Entertainment and Titanfall did by making a deal with the EA devil, but this time Bungie did it with the Activision Demon kikes.

the mall cop made me say sorry and said if I want to piss in a kids face again at the mall I had to do it in sears AND pay 10 dollars to her family. I was just trying to get destiny2 and the next thing you know little bitch is there ready for my piss I couldn't help it.

Next time tell them you're from Hollywood, they'll understand.

is this low?

I want to ask how Blizzard is doing. Since the only thing making them shekels is overcuck and WoW(?) Is there any sign decline? I hope so.

Its in the top 10 so no.

This. Where's the proof OP?

I want to believe you, but right now this is clickbait and therefore an a shit thread.

Do you hear anyone saying it's doing well?

Am I the only one who saw the Destiny 1 beta wiki years back before the first game came out where it was like a proper world world MMO with real classes and roles and gear and bosses and shit? Why didn't they make that game?

Blizzard is Activision and both are doing very well.
There is no decline for both companies.
All of these are doing either extremely well or simply well and we have Blizzcuck shills doing it for free on this fucking board when alll they do is put up the most mediocre shittu casual games for Twitch streamers and Esports cancer.

Blizzcucks are fucking cancer and you will never get rid of them, most normalfags still think Blizzard are a "good guy company", mostly thanks to social media and word of mouth by their acolytes and especially after Overcuck and WoW classic servers which Blizzcuck shills on this very board have already admitted they will pay for if its "good", which basically means they'll gulp it up regardless like the battered wife whores they are.

Buckle up user, they won't be going anywhere anytime soon if theres one thing Activision knows how to do is to milk normalfags and autistic fanbases for all they've got while shitting on their plate and sprinkling some confetti into it.

Activision thought 'gamers wont get it' and ordered a total rebuild.

OP is a shit stirring faggot.

The Marathon Trilogy are the only good Bungie games.

...

Because a part of Bungie fucked off for good after Halo 3, most fucked off after Reach and the rest fucked off during Destinys rocky development likely due to Activisions meddling.

If they get bought out by Activision after they're finished with their contract it wouldn't even surprise me, most of their original executives are out of the picture as well unlike when they finished Reach and their contract with Microsoft.

Sure whatever

You could always play Warframe :^)

Halo 1 was pretty boring if you ask me. Not a bad game but I don't see why it is so special, not even back then. Pathways into Darkness is also good but has huge flaws.

the evidence OP proposed is the lack of publicity and attention. how do you provide a source for that? what do you retards want? an (((NBC))) or (((microsoft money))) article where a journalist discusses the lack of publicity and attention it's getting on youtube?

. this is an imageboard forum, not reddit. agree or disagree, if you want further evidence, investigate yourself post some attention or large scale publicity this game is getting if you think its wrong. or check play stats yourself to see if this expansion actually causes an increase in the playerbase or sales like a DLC is supposed to do?

Show us the report that expansion sales are low. Show screencaps of the negative comments. Show sources that Activision are not happy about the bad press. Back up your claims or they're bullshit. Also the irony of your reddit spacing.

OPs claim was a lack of buzz. not negative buzz dipshit.
again, this is an image board. if you want to see that stuff, find it yourself and contribute. this isnt a comments section of a news article from the front page of reddit. go back

The multiplayer for Combat Evolved was tremendously fun and doubly so with friends. I wish we had a Combat Evolved or Halo Online gamenight.

Lurk more

What's your favorite thing about Destiny 2? Mine was probably the shills going on forums for fucking every single game out there and spamming their shitty "I'm like waiting for Destiny 2, it'll kill this game" oneliner.

There's a difference between spoonfeeding and backing up claims, faggot.

his claim was lack of buzz. if you want to substantiate it or argue against it. contribute to the thread. again, this isnt reddit. lurk more faggot.

Its overrated as shit and only as popular as it is thanks to Microsoft shilling and Xbawks having no games, no doubt.
But everything from the well designed open maps, balanced weapons, good atmosphere/references, decent narrative/pacing and vehicle and enemy animations plus good A.I makes it hold up as a pretty good game.
Just needed a faster movement speed.

That's never been a reliable source.

Well boy fuckin' howdy, that means all those other games out there that don't get reported on must be circling the drain as we speak. Only games that get reported on by game sites are doing well, right?
Fuck right off with that bullshit.

Didn't even know the second game came out. Nothing about this game appeals to me at all.

There is legitimately nothing to do in warframe once you complete the star chart. I'd rather play PSO2.

go back to reddit. his claim was lack of buzz. you want to be spoonfed financial analayses from newspapers and kotaku articles.

he mentions lack of buzz from news gaming sites. for destiny that matters alot. for senran kagura thats normal. the fact that destiny isnt even being talked about by mainstream normalfag gaming sites means theyre not talking about them.
he also mentions youtube. lack of streamers and amateur reviewers etc talking about it doesnt look good for an online game. compare that to a similar game like warframe, every update is littered with dozens of videos about the details of the update.

fair point, but there is more to do if you want to challenge yourself. and fairly recently they've added some hard stuff to the star chart so finishing the starchart requires you to deck out some equipment, which requires months of grinding. warframe is only truely experienced if you never buy (((platinum)))

DUBS

Pathetic.

thats not what reddit spacing is faggot. **now leave*

Checked.

Nice singles faggot.

That is reddit spacing you fucking imbecile, I suggest you take your own advice.

Gaming news sites not talking about something isn't indicative of a game's failure, as you just pointed out with Senran Kagura. When there's something to talk about there will be articles posted. Otherwise, nothing.

o-ok

is this seriously what youre trying to say? or did i misread.

Looks more like a misspace rather than shit formating

kys faggot, he could have provided an archive link to the youtube page to see the views

You realize the same fucking thing happened with all of the Borderlands games, right?
The games launched, there were a few articles about the launch and then several months go by with nothing despite several DLC releases. Then articles and videos pop up again when a new game gets announced. Rinse and repeat.
The first Destiny game had the same fucking thing going on.

I heard plenty about the Taken King and the Wolves or whatever, no word about Curse of Osiris except for the shitty ticker in battle.net and the big fucking in-game advertisement when you beat it.

see the views of what? the nonexistent videos? here, i'll do it for you. "destiny expansion" search turns up pretty much all trailers, and 3-4 amateur reviews and analyses with under 10k views.

borderlands isnt an mmo so i dont get what you mean. destiny 1 had a shit ton more buzz than this game.

Irrelevant. It's a normalfag game that normalfags can play with their normalfag friends online.

Taken King got some buzz because it wasn't part of the originally planned DLC releases.

forgot to mention, theres no "whats new in this expansion" or "what to know before getting started" or "whats the new meta" or "wheres the new best place to farm X" kind of videos.

usually when an update hits an MMO, the current players and youtubers create videos for the other players to check. for example every time they add new stuff to warframe or change some ability or weapon, there will be easily 20+ videos on youtube telling you if the weapons are worth investing in, how the abilities work, "new way to play this frame" etc etc.

the lack of this kind of info just shows that nobody is playing it.

compare this to warframes recent minor update 22.5 which was a few days ago on PC. it updated some minor shit and all the top videos are players breaking it down and discussing. this is a search for "warframe update 22.5" mind you, the updates for 22.1, 22.2, 22.3, 22.4 also had larger buzz than this destiny expansion.

nigger, what the fuck are you talking about? what does borderlands have to do with destiny? are you autistic?
also, aside from your autism, online games definitely have larger internet communities than single player games. pretty obvious why.

Bungie had other good games.

Why did you post Oni then?

Come on, Oni was pretty good.

On the PC at least; controlling that on a PS2 gamepad was a pain.

It's mediocre at best.

OP is a sourceless faggot. Sage and move on.

Regretting that purchase yet?

It's the closest to a good GitS game we ever got.

It's making me legitimately angry that the faggots in this thread think they're actually fitting in.

No, it's not.

i didn't even know this game was out

the prevailence of official trailers and lack of user content is the evidence, retard. learn how to read.

...

Isn't this one of those gambling games I've heard about that fucks with kids? With the pay per spin slot machines?

You just reminded me Destiny 2 existed. I had already forgotten about it.

I keep forgetting everything that's being released because it's all so bad. Except Andromeda, it's now retroactively got a charm to it's awfulness so I still remember it.

First assault was great before Nexon ruined it

here, save this and post it next time. that way people wont know which site you came from.

Why would you rip a video and then remove the audio? kys, pls.

That video was shared on here as is, all my Andromeda videos I got from threads from this site only. Nice try though.

Oy vey, listen and believe everything, goy.

Brutal

i was being nice, but do you think anyone believes you? the one i posted with audio is commonly posted here. so youre either from leddit and have never seen it before, and decided to save one without any audio because youre new and from reddit and didnt know any better. or you got it from cuckchan. either way youre a newfaggot that should lurk alot more before ever posting again.

...

Destiny 2 the follow up to the game that was so ground breaking it straight up ripped off Borderlands another shit game and somehow you faggots are shocked Destiny is a pile of shit?

Fuck off back to 4cuck.

I just got a message from an old pal from my xbox days asking me to rejoin his halo clan, which has apparently grown to like 300 members and has a presence on Destiny 2, as an administrator/officer.
So I mean he and his clan on the xbone are playing it.

Who is this Fluid Fascist?

i dont think i've ever seen a non-porn source request on this site up until a few months ago.

its because these faggots are from reddit, where theyre used to getting the meat of the conversation in the OP.
if someone on an imageboard thinks the OP is bullshit they'll post something and call OP a fag and sage the fuck out of the thread. if OP is right, then people will find embarrassing things about the game's sales and views and join in the thread posting shit.
like when inquisition came out and people started digging shit up like pic related.

Bullshit.
No, it's because when someone makes a claim, they are expected to provide evidence to back up their claim. It's a simple case of proving you're not another fucking shitposter trying to stir the pot with false information.

not an argument

only on reddit, faggot. i suggest you go back.
his claim was nobody APPEARS to care. not exactly an objective statement you cock gobbling reddit refugee

Akitsumaru, from Kancolle.

t. reddit

Well I logged onto Destiny for shits and giggles and it says I get a free trial so I will give it a shot and see how dead it is.

All Activision has to do is release another Modern Warfare style title and it will be 100% back on track. CoD is suffering from the same thing Halo post Bungie is: devs shoehorning in a bunch of new mechanics that don't fit at all and completely change how the game is played to the point where it is basically not CoD/not Halo anymore. Players don't want radical innovation, they never asked for that, just give them more of what they did like and want, give them Modern Warfare 4, give them Halo 3-2. The people who would whine about how every game is the same etc, don't even play said games and are a minority. Just take what you have and refine it with player feedback, it's not that hard.

It really is baffling to me what Infinity Ward and Bungie did. They could have EASILY gone independent, set up a kickstarter and patreon, then rake in the truckloads of money while retaining creative freedom. What a bunch of fucking idiots. No sympathy for them.

I'd rather want CoD 1 with better graphics. The engine may be old but you could have vehicles in multiplayer and not a tank on rails in one game mode like CoD WWII.
Sadly it won't happen because people want more things, muh K/D, muh esports, muh killstreaks, muh perks. muh loadouts with dumb weapon attachments.

Same, the expansion United Offensive was the high point of the series IMO, it did everything that 1 did but better. Made by Splash Damage, who also did Return to Castle Wolfenstein, those guys really knew how to make a good WW2 shooter. I would highly recommend it, even if you hate CoD games, UO doesn't have regen health or grenade button and allows you to hold a sidearm in addition to a primary and secondary weapon (still not as good as holding all guns at once but it was nice).

It doesn't matter if you believe me or not, that webm was posted on here in march I saved it cause I liked it, It's that simple. Your refusal to believe Anons actually post silent webms and that those silent webms would be saved by other Anons is your own choice.

that's shit. grenade buttons are objectively better than manually selecting a highly situational weapon.

Ideally all weapons in FPS games are highly situational, that's what makes DOOM so good as it incentivizes you to switch between them instead of stick with a personal favorite. Since grenades are so powerful there should be a risk involved with using them, having to select them leaves you exposed and forces you to actually think about when and where to use them instead of just mindlessly tossing them at the first sign of danger. Half Life 2 also allowed you to roll the grenades with RMB IIRC which was fucking awesome and I would love to see that mechanic make a return in more games. Speaking of which I would like to see smoke grenades put in Cod 1 and UO. Also UO had sprint but CoD 2 did not, I always found that really strange.

not necessarily.
doom doesn't do this either. Most of the game you stick with the shotgun and chaingun as they're the most effective general purpose tools. You have odd situations where you use the RL or plasma gun such as a large onset of mid tier enemies or barons of hell. some enemies have hard counters like pinkies vs the chainsaw but that's also not an incentivization game, it's a game of risk-reward as pinkies are most effective in close range, attack in groups often, and taking on one could put you at risk against others, but its very effective to use it.

no, grenades aren't very useful in most games. cod is somewhat of an exception, but, I could be wrong, I think even the first one had enemies which returned your grenades when thrown.

no, it just makes a highly situational weapon less desirable to use. Grenades work fantastically as a quick attack, a sort of additional mechanic to just shooting. Ultimately reducing them to a not super dependent weapon limits their use. This isn't a game with enemy variety, generally they'll have rifles, an smg, or well, that's mostly it. Even in cod enemies disperse from grenades if they cant return them (once again, not positive if they do this, been years since I played), so its useful for killing encamped enemies, dispersing crowds, and not necessarily killing them. It's a limited functionality tool and not making it a tool you can readily access further limits that functionality.

I've yet to hear a good reason why grenades in pretty much every first person shooter shouldn't be activated with a dedicated button.

Sounds like an intentional sabotage to me. I bet Activision's end game is an acquisition

Which is the worst part of the game. One of the biggest reasons why people hate Doom 2 so much is because you have the super shotgun out 99% of the time. It's the reason why people prefer user made map packs because the best ones have vastly superior encounter design that encourages constant weapon switching.

That's extremely useful though and neither call for instant usage. When someone kicks down a door and starts shooting you don't take the time to pull out a grenade, pull the pin out, prime it, then throw it at them, you just shoot at them. You want to use a grenade basically as a fireball attack or some shit with a grenade skin on top. instant toss is a waste of a key/button, lacks the ability to roll and lacks the risk, tension and vulnerability of selecting it, which also balances out its extreme usefullness. Even in very fast paced titles like Quake III switching to a grenade launcher works great for its main purpose in that game which is area denial rather than flushing someone out.

I've yet to hear a good reason why grenades in pretty much every first person shooter shouldn't be switched to with a hotkey.

...

yeah, doom 2 made it so you have a single weapon out 90% of the time, but in doom it was just one weapon at 50% of the time.

how isn't dispersing a sudden flank of 3 goons a call for instant usage?

that's nice, but we're talking about video games here.

that's severely limiting player options by making a highly situational weapon strictly a highly situational weapon instead of a convenient mechanic to refer to when its needed. dedicated grenade buttons solve this.

nah, there's plenty of buttons available. shooters aren't a complex genre.
a feature few games use, and one that doesn't necessarily need to be eliminated by having a dedicated button.
what? what tension? Sounds like an appeal to emotion rather than appealing to, well, game play. Kinda the most important thing there.

q3a's gl isn't like grenades in every other game just about.

The fuck? Hasn't the game only been out like a month or two?

Yes, video games invoke emotions.

Where are the numbers?
How many concurrent players does it have right now?

That's what your gun is for. Actually having to aim and prioritize targets instead of press button and win which completely mindless, risk free and boring. Completely ruining an encounter that could have been interesting.

So you admit you want magic spell nonsense instead of a grenade. Why have grenades in the game if they don't act like grenades and you don't need to use them for what grenades are actually used for?

Pic related. A highly situational weapon is what it is supposed to be. When you make it highly situational it requires thought to use since using it incorrectly results in death which gives you tension which is fun and exciting instead of just mash button and win which is dull. The fear of failure is part of what makes games great, when you remove all the downsides of using something it makes it way less fun than what it could be.

So a highly situational weapon then.

CoD is about as basic as it gets for shooters yet it uses up every button on a controller. Keys/buttons are extremely valuable and wasting them on something like a grenade toss that can be achieved in a better way that also gives you an extra button is just silly.

So you want to waste TWO buttons, one for throwing and one for rolling? Or maybe splitting them between press and hold, which then removes the ability to cook grenades/dictate throwing distance. That's insane.

So you would rather have an emotionless dull and mindless experience instead of something intense that took thought and skill.

Mostly due to spamming tons of them instead of dropping one.

There's a Destiny 2? I thought the first one was supposed to have a million expansions?

Those "expansions" are sequels.

It's shit anons
Disclaim: I got the season pass with my CE edition. Swag is good enough that I don't regret that purchase.

It's worth 5 dollars tops user. Anyone dumb enough to pay $20s for this should be declared unfit to manage their own finances. Owe yeah and that lighthouse isn't a new social space like they previously claimed it would be.

Probably is, but Bungie is a good enough brand and is already working on their next project. If they are smart they won't sign on with Activision again.

Regardless of your faggotry what a total shitshow of a DLC, why they can't do DLC like the Souls games or Witcher is beyond me.

Released October 24th. Crazy how they totally planned a $60 content-less game just to sell a $35 DLC ~1 1/2 months later, huh?

yeah this sure isn't what 96% of what the game is already composed of. might as well make it 99, just to squeeze out any more variety, fuck having fun or moments of player ingenuity.

I want a game, stick to your autism simulators in arma if you want that.

how is any of the scenarios presented or solutions presented to this point "mash button and win?"
this isn't about removing downsides, its about creating versatility and more useful tools. Do you also cite how halo handles grenades as if it's a bad thing?

strictly, as opposed to loosely.

its almost like you can't hold one button while pressing another to get a different result, a sort of twist on how its handled as a means to add depth. Its not like games haven't been doing this for 30 years or anything. Try thinking at least a little.

see above, brainlet.

see above, brainlet. cod and halo seem to handle dictating throwing distance just fine.

is this intense to you

and impact explosions, consistent arcs with no way to alter distance. yeah its really different, bad idea to even bring it up.

Keep trying user, I'm sure you will fit in soon

Because this isn't a game to be played and enjoyed on its own merits, it has to justify itself as a Game As A Service(tee-em).
A bunch of content that you can play through once or twice and enjoy the fuck out of is anathema to repeating the same shit over and over again in a skinner box to grind for RNG loot.

You see three different enemies approaching, Scenario 1: One is a guy with a rifle, another with an rpg, and the last a shotgun guy. You shoot the rpg guy first, run back behind cover, switch to shotgun and pop up take out shotgun guy who is rushing you, switch back to rifle, lean out the side and shoot rifle guy, he is hunkered down in cover and blind firing, you take out a grenade, flush him out, then shoot him.

Scenario 2: same enemy types. You insta-throw a grenade. They all die. The end.

Which one of these has more variety, fun and ingenuity? There is nothing ingenious about pressing grenade button to insta-win the engagement.

and I see no point in having grenades that don't function like grenades.

Mash throw grenade, everyone dies, you win.

That's precisely what it does though.

It kills depth and makes the game mindless.

Kind of kills the point of an insta-throw grenade while still taking up buttons that could have been used for something else.

Casual detected. Hotkey master race.

The expansion is 20 dollars not 35, the 35 pass is for both of the expansions. 20 dollars is not that bad at all for an expansion

It fails there too.
It's a moot point to be able to get better loot when the enemies are still going to be brain dead and everything is just going to scale to you anyway. Raid sucks ass, strikes aren't worth it, so even with RNG there is zero reason to keep playing this.

Only thing I'm glad is they uncucked the stupid XP system. Hopefully it'll make finishing the other two characters for the Platinum less painful than surgery without anesthesia like it was. Owe yeah replay value in regards to redoing the campaign is non existent. Mission variety is abysmal.

it is when it's fucking Destiny 2

I'm so glad I didn't buy this piece of trash, for just a fleeting moment I was tempted, but I did not give in.

OH BOY IS THIS A SHITSHOW

Took a look at the Destiny reddit just to see and its in meltdown. They did it, they killed the brand.

So from what I can tell it's a single player third person shooting gear grinder with drop-in multiplayer it will force you to use via quest gimmicks and you can't harvest tears from baddies?

The only retroactive charm it has is the memes created from it, the game itself doesn't deserve such a reputation.

Destiny 1 was already DOA and the public's interest in it was corporate tastemakers convincing people necrophilia was fun.

Remember the D2 Rockstar Energy™ and Poptart® cross promotions? Now they're doing it on Pringles, on the other side of the can it says the following:

Food tie-ins are pretty stupid in the first place but I feel like you could really make a judgement call on day one from their partnerships. Pop Tarts? Rockstar? I don't even know anyone who drinks rockstar, I've seen it on shelves but never seen a person consume one. Did they go to Pepsi and frito-lay first for that dewritos and get shut down because the first Destiny was a pile of shit, or was it just bad timing because they had an existing contract with someone else? Why not some other chips or soda that's actually popular? It's like poptarts and rockstar was all they could get.

Rockstar is owned by pepsi, and i didn't bother researching pringles or pop tarts but i'd wager they're owned by another megacorporation they already has marketing deals with

They should just self-publish and go back to making games that they find fun, rather than working under the Activision whip. I bet they signed a ten year contract with the Destiny name, hence the whole "ten year dlc plan for Destiny" promise they inevitably broke. Destiny was alluded to in ODST, they worked on that game for a while

I don't get why, after cheating with ODST to get out of their contract with Microsoft, they'd go to an even worse publisher and get back into the shit again.

Was it this game or stillborn where the devs were kvetching about people looking at concurrent player numbers on steam?

Lawbreakers, Destiny 2 isn't on Steam, its on Blizzard's Battle.Net. And coincidentally, they've also chosen to hide their player count

They're all blending together at this point. Thanks for the clarification.

fucking what

Jesus christ I saw something similar here in germany. Buy a rockstar and boost somehow your assassin. Must be something about the latest Assassin's Creed title.

...

How do you manage to fuck up something as simple as "put a code on the inside of the lid"?

Holy shit this is absolutely deplorable. Even Cruicible. When someone who is literally the worst guardian ever, hasn't played the first game in over a year, and is coming out of the openning tutorial and going straight into PVP and MVPing every match with starting equipment you know the userbase is as cancerous as the devs.

No mainstory content. Like they somehow they managed to have less shit to do than Launch D1.

Story is convoluted lore raping mess. What the actual fuck is this shit. I thought D1 was dog shit, but this mess is something else. Thank god this is just a free trial I can delete. I would hate to have bought it and felt like a big enough asshole that I had to convince others online to buy it just so I could enjoy knowing someone else was stupid enough to get fucked as hard as I was. Bungie are more pathetic kikes than Mark filming Piggy blowing Zerosugar.

Like year on year Call of Duty sales declines

My friend bought it for me and I hate it so much and feel bad because he can't return it since it was a gift.
The gun play feels fine but just about everything else is mediocre at best and fucking atrocious at worst. The voice acting is horribly cringy, I don't give a fuck about any of the characters or the story. The enemies are terribly forgettable and their AI is bad. It's just so fucking boring.
It's kind of pretty though.

Even I hate this game

Stop bumping a shit no source thread.

No.

Wew Destiny reddit is shitting on them Holla Forums style.

Huh, Destiny 2 was released already?

Sure, if they're Blizzcucks or ASSFAGGOTS battered wifes

every single time you make a thread about destiny 2 being oh so fucked you forget to post sources you god damn embarassment

The Book of Sorrows is quality writing. Why they don't let the guy who wrote that to write the in game story baffles me.

Fucking top lol

The expansion was beaten in just over an hour by IGN. Then the same lack of endgame.
They added a laser that almost insta kills. It's ruined the entire PvP meta and they might cancel trials because of it. They're shit.

Sorry for deleting the post you replied to but I reuploaded the video with mp4 instead of twitch link.

Dont ever do that to me again, online >:(

I really don't know what makes you think this is even halfway credible. Do you think all those archive.is links are just for show? Or are you too new to have even seen them?

...

How about IRL?

:^)

So instead of acknowledging the criticisms Bungo decided to rush the development of the first expansion?
I thought the PvP was the main focus in D2 since Bungo wanted muh competitive/esports retards.
Also why can't they make 2 configurations for the weapons (one for the PvE and the other for the PvP)? Why should a weapon act the same in PvE and PvP?

Webm reminds me of this.

This one creates a damage sphere expands the longer you hold it.

Because that takes less effort than balancing a particular gameplay element for two wildly different gamemodes.
Also because it doesn't make them money, you see that shiny laser beam shit in the DLC? Give us $19.99 right now and YOU can be the one performing virtual genocide in our game!

(((PROFIT)))

They focused hard on pvp but even in destiny 1 they would nerf all a class of a weapon if one or two was found overpowered.

-Nerf All Assault Rifles.
They cant balance worth shit

is balancing that hard or do they suck at their jobs on purpose to get people to keep hoping for improvements? it seems like such a common method of doing things that i cant imagine its always sincere

It is your Destiny not to play this trash.

I'm not an expert but I think the problem might come from the high number of weapons, weapon types and the RNG that dictates the perks that a random weapon will have. In D1 they always ended up nerfing the exotic weapons (the one that suffered the most was the Thorn).

I would like to remind everyone that noone will ever admit to playing WoW or Overwatch. Just as you never see anyone talk about "wow that little girl is fucking hot".

That's why it SEEMS that nobody cares. But Activisionphiles are among us.

what trickery is this?

Excuse me?

Pretty sure user meant in real life or places that aren't here. Because if you do say that outside of here you deserve your incoming beatings.

...

Friendly reminder those drinks have more sugar in them than entire boxes of cereal.

"Wer da money go?"

There's stigma here to admit being a activisonfag, likewise there is stigma everywhere else for being a pedo/lolicon.

The disappointing part is that, thanks to a lack of concrete standards and the principles of social interaction, they won't actually learn a lesson from this. They'll simply see the next thing shoved into their face that's not quite as a shit and claim that it's amazing.

Well in D1 when all weapons rolled random perks, that was one thing. Any time they adjusted classes of weapons to change the balance of a particular outlier, they threw everything else completely out of whack. But in D2, every weapon has a static set of perks, so making adjustments should be as simple as identifying the outliers and making modifications.

What I've heard but can't confirm is that Bungie doesn't want to pay to push out updates on a more frequent basis, since supposedly(?) Sony still charges for devs to put out updates. So instead they just let the current state of the game stay the exact same way for months and only bothered to finally address some of the issues (high-caliber rounds causing opponents to flinch like crazy letting you kill them easily, three-round-burst sidearms tearing through an opponent in about a second, precision auto rifles being as good or better than pulse/scout rifles at long range) in the patch this week. But by this point everyone's sick of the Crucible meta being so horribly stale (MIDA and either Uriel's or an Omolon sidearm) that nobody wants to even set foot in it anyway.

Then there's the fact that supposedly one of the new exotics is laughably overpowered in Crucible, such that if you don't have it and the enemy team has one, you're going to lose every single match. Good balancing.

I played the campaign last night, and I suppose the story was alright, but dear god this is a paltry amount of content. Most of the campaign was running through the Infinite Forest over and over, such that I don't even want to see the actual repeatable activity. Mercury is insultingly small. And apparently the new strikes are just repurposed campaign missions (granted, the missions did have fun boss fights so I'm not entirely opposed to replaying them, but that's fucking lazy). The final boss was a fun fight I suppose, but that doesn't make up for the rest of it. You would think after The Dark Below they would learn not to try and push out a DLC literally three months after the game launches again, but I guess not.

They are adding weapon rolls back into D2 later on with "Mastercraft" weapons.

Cant wait for every gun to be nerfed again.

I know a guy who took the next two months off of work to play this expansion, he was hyped.

Id fire the guy on principle

is he gonna need 2 months?
