Since my GPU can't handle it and I don't want to buy a 1080ti only to sell it after the sucessor is here next year, a dumb console will make due.

Honestly, you probably don't even need to do that. Just copy your saves via USB or PS+ and redownload your shit on the Pro.

That's plan B. It's gonna take an eternity to redownload everything, and I'm on a metered connection, so that's about 2 to 3 months in my shitty 500gb upload limit, so I'd prefer not having to redownload.

Because AMD GPUs are absolute garbage as of now. Vega was an utter dissapointment. The RX570 competes with the 1060. It's a joke. I gave up on AMD as far as GPUs go.

I didn't. I want games that can run consistently at 60fps on 4k on very high or, if possible, ultra settings. Believe me, I wanted to get an AMD card. I even bought a Freesync monitor. But then, Vega came out and it's pretty fucking underwhelming.

Even if ultra settings ends up being bogus, I can still use the extra horsepower to supersample or run 1080p in 120fps. I'm actually really hoping to test this since this is the first time I got a TV that has a native 120hz panel. As for VR, I'm pretty curious about the tech. I know, I have been using a 780ti since it was released, and as it got older I saw the bump in framerate certain settings would give me. But still, I didn't want to migrate to a mid range card.

That is the problem with AMD. They lack punch right now. I wanted to make a new system, entirely red this time. I'm intrigued by their threadripper, it seems like a good value for the money, but there simply is no high end AMD GPU on the shelves. I don't know what they are thinking, it's like they abandoned the segment. At any rate, I'll keep an eye on their next line up. If they manage to release something that competes with the nvidia top tier cards, then I'll gladly switch over. I'm not nvidia's bitch by choice.

There's 3 PCs in my gaming room alone (one is a hyperspin dedicated system, another one is a general purpose storage PC and there's my gaming PC). If I got that right, both machines have LAN jacks. This means you could theoretically do it with a spare LAN cable and a cheapo monitor if you think you have to watch both machines at once.

I solved the problem doing what I didn't want to do in the first place. I used a USB external drive, but I had to wipe it first, and it had my porn collection in it. A pity. I could never get both to communicate. Thanks, though.
