If you had to turn Made in Abyss into a videogame, what would you turn it into?

If you had to turn Made in Abyss into a videogame, what would you turn it into?
A Dark Souls game?
an Etrian Odyssey, but with actual models and atmosphere?
a strange Journey with incredibly detailed models?

a generic jrpg?

What would you turn the AOTY game-wise?

A survival horror like silent hill.

Would you keep the fetish fuel?

A hentai game with incredibly detailed models.
Did you just want to post about that anime without being immediately banned from the anime board?

Implying silent hill wasn't full of fetish fuel.

It will play like Armored Core.

please elaborate. Why would /a/ ban /a/ related material?

No I just want to see what kind of videogame you could turn the series into. has an interesting idea, but I don't know if there's enough material for a whole game in that regard.

God fucking damnit, stop with these trash threads. I know /a/ will shoah any and all Holla Forums talk because it's run by fucking retards, but that doesn't mean come here and be retarded. At least be more fucking subtle.

Are you joking?

Subnautica with lolis and somehow on land instead of under water.

I agree. This nigger brings it up so frequently that he has to be getting off to it.

Sounds about right

Made in Abyss sucks lol

I dont go to /a/. I wanted to talk about the topic, not the anime in itself. You're being incredibly presumptious, user.

I could maybe see some sort of Spelunky roguelike with the abyss. maybe not the Mcs but just random diggers doing dives

Stop posting this shit show, OP. Go back to /a/ where you belong.

Rogue-like, survival horror, most likely. You don't play as the main kids, but a random orphan peon sent into the abyss. When you die you wake up as another hapless orphan and begin again. You can find your previous corpses as you progress further each time.

If you go down far enough can you become cursed blessed by the abyss?

Fetish fuel works great in horror settings. For normal people read:Not us sexual subtext while bad shit is going on makes it a million times more disconcerting.

it would be part of the gameplay i imagine
The curse only happens when they go up, but there could be ladder segments or segments where you go up.
Hell, you could conflate the level design with enemy placement. Do you rather get CC'd/get damaged by going up or risk a fight with monsters?

It has potential.

Hold on while I check those OP.

Even though I'm very tired of the survival sandbox meme, I think it could work for Made In Abyss, as long as the focus was more on survival, resource management, and combat, rather than autismblox base building and obsessively grabbing everything around you so you can go dump it in your giant wall of storage chests back at your base.

You deserved that ban.

checked.

Mundane post but at least it wasn't stolen by b8'ers or shitposters

You know there is a fucking difference between getting banned for 10 hours because I said nigga instead of nigger, and posting template threads all over the place. In fact /a/ has worse problem of template threads than Holla Forums.

Well, obviously you would play as Reg for most of the game. It would probably end up as a story-heavy RPG with real-time combat, protecting Riko while not letting her ascend. Would mostly follow the same story as the manga/anime, but slightly more fleshed out.
There better be a way to lewd Nanachi

You get to for S ranking the levels, or having riko take no damage the whole layer.

This. Too many "open world survival" or "sandbox survival" games lack the key part of most survival games that is inventory management. It turns them into unending collectathons and autism simuluators. Luckily, thanks to the nature of the Abyss, you shouldn't be allowed to backtrack without severe reprecussions. Just make the inventory limit an important and well balanced mechanic and you're good.

MADE IN ABYSS GAME WHEN!?

Please. Nanachi is not for lewds. Nanachi is for gentle, slow and deep dicking, but with love.

I wouldn't say that they don't have inventory management, but rather that they do it wrong and clog up your inventory with dirt piles and random items that only contain a couple pieces per stack, so you can carry a cubic mile of random rocks and wood, but you can only carry a t-shirt, a shovel, and enough food for one day in the same amount of space… which necessitates the need to run back and forth, constantly squirreling away resources into chests and boxes and wherever else you can get rid of it.

...

Being able to take everything back to a base with unlimited potential for space is a little more than just doing inventory management wrong. You essentially don't have to manage at all since you can always go back and store shit. And if you run out of storage you can make more. The management of the inventory is hardly there.

Narehate ? With You

Going to the store itself in a Made in abyss roguelike should have its repercussions because theyre going up.
They either keep going down or they need to have the full health to pay for the trip up. if they're half-health they wouldn't be able to go up and sell relics.
It would be interesting to have different relics with different gameplay upgrades.

I could see a Made in abyss Action rpg roguelike.

...

I hate being confined to a setting but I like the idea of making it to the bottom of something. As you get deeper shit get weirder and more dangerous. If you are lucky so do you, depending on what you find.

Have you seen the anime? The setting is a giant abyssal pit to Hell, with different layers, each more dangerous than the next. There is also a "Curse", if humans try to go back up they will be affected by it, each layer more severely than the last. If you go back up rapidly from the 6th or deeper, you will literally no longer be human and morph into some horrible mutant. Really thinking about it, this setting seems great for a game. The playable character would likely be Reg, a robot who is unaffected by the curse. Or maybe you could go the challenging route and also play as Riko, a human loli adventurer. And like you said, there are random artifacts and weapons lying around in the abyss, it could be like a Binding of Isaac type deal where you find different items and weapons every playthrough.

Having the different character be difficulty levels would be cool. Reg is easy modo, nanachi is medium, and riko is hard.

Or we can just let Ladybug dev make a Metroidvania out of it.

Seen the anime and read the manga to its current chapter and still think that being confined to a predefined setting is to limiting. I think its a very interesting setting, but would rather take the concept and run with it on my own.
I think a rogue like would probably work best for this, you can do a lot with it.

Riko is the biggest problem into making this into a 3D action game, as if you play as Reg, the game would be an escort mission that would game over the moment you missed with the cannon. However, if you're playing Riko instead and order Reg around, it would at least be playable albeit boring, since Riko can hardly attack.

The more abstract the gameplay is, the better, so it would likely be a turn-based/ATB RPG where retreat has a high risk of death or a status effect. If it's 1:1 with the show, every effect would have to be reversible for now, since Riko can't transform yet.

Best solution would be to make a spiritual survival sim roguelike that only gives you a manual for the tutorial level, and your only partner is a robotic animal that's more of a pack mule and a toolkit rather than something that can protect you. You'd be the one to make the weapons to defend yourself.

I don't see why it has to stick to just Reg and Riko, there is a whole industry of cave divers digging around down there for cool shit. You could just take the setting without having to follow the plot of the anime (or including an OP character like Reg who's immune to all the downsides of the place)

Why? Ico is basically the same and it worked.

Well yeah, I guess, but the OP was about turning the anime into a game. I was just thinking that realistically, if it happened, it would follow the story of it pretty closely.

I mentioned this. Let me further elaborate. Since you reach a point of no return, you'd have no need of storage space at the top. A roguelike would be nice, but it wouldn't be very fun to retread all that ground you covered while constantly getting afflicted with heavy status ailments that worsen the faster you go back up.

Corruption of Champions clone

no one is forcing you to use those mcs
it could be a random orphan kid as mc
perhaps many years later, as a dark souls, where the white whistles have gone mad in the abyss along with the MCs and you go to vanquish them.

either become new lord of the abyss or sacrifice yourself to close it. pretty much a dark souls game

she is for hugs not fugs

Ico was fun, but much simpler. It was a puzzle game in a barely inhabited castle. This is too complex and contains too many enemies, many of which are fast. Combat wasn't exactly Ico's strong point.

there are camps in made in abyss
You could store your shit in camps. No one is stopping you from making your own base.
last layers are pretty much the final boss anyway

...

And then we're back to

Ico is the last thing I think of when saying "3D action game". It's more of a puzzle platformer due to how most of the challenge is jumping and getting Yorda through the dungeon, rather than shooing the shadows away while they take their time. The show is good for high stakes, so keeping that tension through emergent gameplay is necessary, especially at the 4th layer. Either you make the beast battle scripted and too easy, or Riko dies too often to be considered fun because her AI would end up running into an attack (if she isn't so good she'll dodge everything).

Reversing the roles turns it more like Shadow of the Colossus, where Reg would be a more handy Aggro. Add hunting as an essential survival mechanic and it fits the tone well.

The disorientation, nausea, and other effects of the curse are all temporary. Delvers go up and down all the fucking time, they just slowly pace themselves, so every delve has to be planned as a two-way trip. Surviving the way down, and then managing to get back up while also hauling all the loot and goodies you found.

You could have riko use the umbrella shield so you have more time to saver her. I dunno.

I don't remember aggro being able to nuke the colossi, though I get what you mean. Maybe he could be summoned like the dog in megaman whenever riko needed to use incinerator or cross a gap with his extendo arms.

God I fucking hate /a/. What a fucking shitty board. The BO and vols need to get their heads out their ass.

And when they go down planning to come back up they bring so much shit with them that it takes white whistles many months to cover the distance Riko and Reg seem to do in weeks as they don't plan on returning. Also, repeatedly going up and down through the early layers, especially going up where you have to take it slow, will become incredibly boring for those with the ability to reach and return from the lower layers.

I wouldn't want the whole thing to be "if you die go back to the beginning asshole" in a long ass game, so along the way you could activate or build elevators at pre set points for the next kid.

The whole point of the thing is that you can only go deeper, because when you come back up you suffer horrible symptoms.

It should NOT be a top down rougelike, camera should be at your back, like a more fucked up version of Dark Cloud or Baroque.

The issue is that it might be harder to make horrifying moments when everything's random, so you need to make certain exceedingly tough enemies that have some sort of identifier that tells you that they're on your floor. And since you're a kid, combat should actually be avoided, so stealth would need to be a main focus, so the design of the rooms needs to be considered from every entry point, where monsters spawn and all that.

So assuming you go classic rougelike, you have "room" and "corridor" design, with "rooms" needing to be designed so that their randomness doesn't fuck you over when you're trying to stealth around. Corridors need moments where monsters are can chase you through them or corner you.

she is for sniff

I don't get banned but my posts keep on getting deleted. Like in that thread about making original anime and manga, I told them you're like those fucks who think avatar and steven universe is an anime if think you're making manga and not comics.

a real time mobile game with lootboxes

Honestly, I'd say the best potential is having a (3D) roguelike focusing on the white whistles, as all of them would have a special quirk. Ozen would only be able to use melee weapons well due to a horrid grip, daddy loli-legs would be able to live as long as he had enough followers on the same floor, and Lyza could either be insanely agile or born lucky to get all the good loot. No telling what the other abilities the rest of the white whistles have, though.

That's probably the most likely outcome.

Lyza has her infinite ammo explosive pick axe man.

I'm pretty sure one of them has a grappler hook arm.

fair enough

They explained that the artifact pickaxe Riko got was brittle and would only last a few more shots, and I'm not sure if she got her mother's pickaxe, or if Lyza has even kept that pickaxe around. That said, something like that would need a limited use to be balanced.

Why do you necessarily need to be a kid. Even if you're an adult, the shit is so dangerous combat should still be avoided, unless you're Reg.

...

They already said in the anime that it didn't work half the time even when Lyza was regularly using it. This further supports Lyza's specialty being luck/agility.

It would have a durability, but you could always find or make another housing or repair the pickaxe. After all it's only the gunpowder that never runs out, so you could use it to "power" any other weapon.

Pretty sure it's a relic and I don't like the idea of something as special as Lyza's signature pickaxe, relic or not, being replaceable. I'd go with repairable.

...

Is it? I thought the gunpowder was the relic and the pickaxe was just what Lyza used with it.

Japan already has a bunch of loli/shota torture games

Basically this. It doesn't even have to focus on the main characters, but rather on what everyone else does. Most normal people become red whistles when they're preteens, and then slowly work their way through the ranks as they delve lower and lower, and discover more and more cool shit. Either they eventually become a White Whistle, or they get eaten by something. It's a setting that begs for a sandbox RPG. Essentially it would be GTA except with an adventure theme and with a more JRPG feel to it. Having to go with other delvers as a "party" would make a lot more sense than going it alone. You'd still encounter some major characters (like Ozen and Marulk) around important landmarks, but not the main three.

Would be interesting to see how they could use the curse as an actual gameplay element. Depending on the layer you ascend in, it could be as mild as a "nausea" effect, to stuff like inverting your controls or locking out certain options, to as serious as blackout effects or lowering stats. If you REALLY screw the pooch and ascend in the sixth layer, you are transformed into a narehate and get a non-standard game over being dissected by Bondrewd.

...

...

Pretty sure black whistle is where most people stop, as you can only become a white whistle by acquiring a life reverberating stone, which is quite hard. Becoming a white whistle and going on a final dive would be like a special ending.

It would work best as an MMO, but not a theme park. One where the world will kill you, and you leave all of your items/lose tons of exp when you die. Items on player corpses don't disappear.
The whole idea is this gigantic pit is sitting there, and everyone wants to explore it, but it's dangerous as shit. Elite mobs/world boss strength mobs are everywhere, and combat is difficult and slow to recover from except for more experienced adventurers. There should be other skills (especially mobility related ones) and exp earned from non combat to compensate, but I think this is the only way to truely capture the spirit of MiA's world.

Would you have preferred if I'd said

Well, I suppose you could make that the "perfect ending", that you're not expected to get on your first playthrough. That said, getting a life-reverberating-stone isn't THAT hard.

1: Cut a hole in a cartridge
2: Put the loli in the cartridge
3: Make her spill out of the cartridge
And that's the way you do it.

MMOs are a cancer.

The loli has to love you though, or else it doesn't work. That's the hard part.

No teleportation. No quality of life skills that MMO players have gotten used to. More old school MMO mechanics, harsh penalties, little rewards.
No pvp either- it's the players verses the abyss.

Correct. The pickaxe was mining equipment. Lyza was the nutjob that decided to start hitting monsters and people with it. The relic in it is called Peace Phobia, the "Eternal Gunpowder".

Horrifyingly, based on what it did the Crimson Splitjaw, it's not merely unlimited explosives: it also causes the wound to keep exploding over and over after you've hit it.

But pvp is a core component of the abyss.

...

Only between residents of Orth and "foreign powers" that Lyza fought, and that we know little about. It could be made so there is some kind of class system, and you can only attack those outside your class.

There's already an in-universe reason for no, or at least extremely limited, teleportation. You can't transmit through layers. It affected both Nanachi's radio and even Bonedaddy's super special relic.

t. Working on The Abyss as a location for a plane-hopping Pathfinder game and have been working on ways to gimp the fuck out of a high-level d20 party to make them feel the fear. Still not sure how I want to handle incorporeality.

I'm gonna enjoy this game.

This is also true. Not merely squabbles between guild members, but foreigners show up to plunder the place because who the fuck is going to police it? (The answer is White Whistles, but there's only so many of them, and they have better things to be doing.)

naw, just like runescape, the Abyss is not a pvp zone.

Action rpg 3d vertical platformer with emphasis on zone specific challenges and mechanics and party system of semi-autonomous followers which follow simple orders. Ability to hunt mobs repeatedly to carve them and get powerful materials. Ability to mine minerals, collect herbs and special waters. Ability to find ancient relics and turn them into money to buy surface only materials. Have your level / gear determine your ability to withstand lower zones, and by that in terms of gameplay it makes you slower / have less health / take debuffs more easily / have less equip weight the lower down you go without the proper experience. Lots of grapple hooking, and using parachutes / hot air balloons to traverse around with many mobs able to clip you if they notice you in flight and you don't dodge them. Jump off from very high and fall down for a long while like sky diving, and go splat in a realistic way when you inevitably hit a surface.

Checked

...

What the fuck is made in abyss?

This makes me wonder, does the government of Orth actually own the Abyss? They own all the elevators going into it, but can they legally stop a foreigner from going in on their own? Although I'm sure if they weren't allowed to, they'd just go to the ghetto side of town and go in anyways.

An adventure-anime about lolis and traps and furries all getting abused by the eldritch horrors populating a kilometer-wide onahole designed by the lovechild of HP Lovecraft and Junji Ito.

Realistically speaking, a country's sovereign territory includes all their land, and both all the sky above it (until the border of the atmosphere) and the ground beneath it. Would a country allow some other country to dig for oil 10,000 feet below their land? Fuck no.

But there is no way to know what the political situation is in the MiA world. There might be some kind of treaty between powers (like the one we have for Antarctica) where you are allowed to set up bases in the Abyss and perform experiments, but not claim ownership of it.

They cover at least a bit of this in the manga. The Abyss belongs wholly to Orth, which is a city-nation; they just lack the manpower to exert total dominance within their own borders. The only reason they haven't been annexed by another country is because the White Whistles pull double duty between being their Indiana Joneses and their SOLDIER First Class, which is why their personal relics are classified. WW are technically soldiers, or at least some kind of clandestine paramilitary community. Hence Lyza having no choice but to take orders to delve while pregnant. You do not want a time-stopping bell falling into the hands of an enemy country. They mention that even one special-grade artifact is enough to shift the balance of power between countries.

Goddammit now you've got me thinking of an Avengers parody with the White Whistles. Bondrewd is Iron Man, Ozen is the Hulk, Lyza is Thor…

Anyway, there don't seem to be an foreigners around right now. Maybe securing the Unheard Bell has caused a temporary peace, because no other power can deal with it's power. Or maybe they're going hands-off because they know the 2000-year cycle is about to come to an end, along with whatever calamity that will suck everything into the Abyss.

They're a bunch of unhinged lunatics with semi-supernatural powers. They're more like The Cobra Unit from MGS 3.

Let's see the dawn together, user.

Are there any good scanlations of the mango yet?

Are the ones out now particularly bad? They seemed competent, but I'm not a usual /a/-goer so don't take my word on quality.

Strategy sim game. You run a guildhouse where you train up orphans to delve into the Abyss and bring you loot for profit and prestige. You need to keep ahead of your competition so that they don't get the good shit before you but you don't have an infinite supply of lolis and shotas so getting them killed or mindbroken isn't something you can do without consequences.

The ones out now are fine, just the SFX are translated as memes "rumble of scientific triumph" and "loli pooping noises" and whatnot.

LOLI SPILLING NOISES

Honestly, I don't mind that. I can guess what the sounds of shitting are, at least I get a chuckle out of reading the SFX.

2 years worth of poop made a spilling noise as it flowed endlessly out of Riko

I could have sworn all that's been out for a while now either had a stiff translation, low quality scans, or both.

its a little low quality but not especially bad that it ruins anything. I just noticed a few typos and some odd formatting.

If you had to choose between never being able to watch anime again or being tortured to death which would you pick?

Was pleasantly surprised how not shit the mango and even the animu turned out to be.

A rogue-like game based on the universe would probably be the best.
Could probably incorporate a minor online element where you can stumble upon other deceased characters and maybe recover something they lost.

Why did you ask anons to choose between never being able to watch anime again or never being able to watch anime again?

One of these things is not like the other.

The third one is the only one where monsters aren't attacking them.

MonHun style real-time combat where you need to learn the patterns and tactics of monsters would be ideal for a MiA game. Enemy AI would need to be a step up, though, beyond just giving enemies a handful of attacks and the ability to flee when they take too much damage.

I will take no less than perfectly clear scans. For too many years have I agonized over having low quality scans of the last scene from the Eclipse in Berserk. Never again.

See, your first mistake was reading high quality in the first place. If you are like me you never seen it so you can't tell the difference.

/a/ is cancer anyway.

Action RPG, you play as Reg

It's a character-driven Man vs. Nature setting that is brilliant because it has this fully fleshed out breathing environment.
As a game, it'd be a plot-driven mashup of Monster Hunter and Dark Souls that takes full advantage of its resource gathering to immerse you in the environment.
More realistically I'm currently running a semi-inspired tabletop campaign using the Ryuutama system, which is deadly enough, but fair enough to portray this sort of setting accurately, and also enjoyably, while also being simple enough that even the averag Holla Forums-user can learn it.

I like the action-survival roguelike idea some anons have pitched. I don't like the idea of a randomized layout, but it would keep things interesting if the generation algorithm was good enough. You could start as a random orphan and have to do different missions and tests to earn your whistle rank. Achieving certain goals and hidden objectives can unlock other character types to play as, like starting as a Blue or Black whistle, with the eventual option to unlock a Reg-type robot child with a more unique gameplay experience.. and possibly even unlocking the ability to play as an adorable fluffy blessed Narehate who starts inside the Abyss and is granted the special ability to sense the Curse field

I think a semi-randomized system could work. You could go and explore one route down, come back up and then have the option to go down that rout again (where mosters might wander back but all the artifacts you found won't respawn) or go down a different way and find some different things or maybe an easier way down to the next layer. Previous routes should stay unlocked, but since they can be tapped out of resources or dead end they won't all be ones you'll go back to.

Niggers that got autobanned for posting kys tbh famalam detected.

I said nigga. That's it. Stop making excuses for the shit moderators.

Try typing like a white person next time.

Have you considered not using niggerspeak?
/a/nons have always loved strict moderation, you would know that if you lurked more.

Try learning the board culture before posting faggot.

you fucking disgusting newfags.

You are functionally retarded.

Where do you cucks come from?

Lurk more.

This is real fucking ironic.

...

You're right, I'm sorry, how dare I want things to be better. I shouldn't criticize anything ever. Holla Forums, /a/, /pol, they're all perfect as is. Like reddit and cuckchan, everyone should should just accept them and leave them be, that's just the way they like it.

3d spelunky and cave story with the curse

...

Not really. When a Redditor comes here and obviously doesn't fit in, you tell them to post properly (or better yet that they should just fuck off) because we don't want people diluting the post quality. Yet when someone says the same to you, you become offended. Their standards are too high you say, they don't let me post how I want to post and that isn't fun you say. Rather than adapt to how you're expected to post you cry on Holla Forums about it.

They don't have high standards, user. They actively punish you for contributing if it's ever slightly off topic or uses any language that isn't 100% perfect to their arbitrary rule set. /a/ is in a constant state of delusion. And you clearly did not understand my comparison. I'm saying if the board is shit, I have the right to complain. We all make fun of reddit because they're fucking retards, and if we could somehow make them not be retarded we would. You are so fucking dense and so eager to bend over for you faggot meidos you fail to see this.

You're right user. Just like all those poor mudslimes in Britain, they criticizing the white cisgender hetero capitalist patriarchy government to make it better and more inclusive! :^)

I know user, it's so great the way that the west operates. I had better not make waves when they import thousands of niggers into my neighborhood, after all everyone else seems to like it this way. It's their culture, I can't criticize it.

How was that post a violation of that rule?

(you)

You got banned because your writing didn't meet their standards. How is that not high standards that you are not meeting? You just sound like another faggot complaining about over-moderation because it effected you this time and you should somehow be exempt. And you could've at least posted the original image that would've been relevant to your point before starting down your retarded analogy. Which is doubly retarded because in this instance you're telling the incumbents they're doing it wrong and to let you post how you like. You are the nigger invading the neighborhood.

I would make a action adventure game with the same combat style from games like dmc, zelda and darksiders, with permadeath but with the ability of sending back items and information back through those small balloons they use.
Aside from this, you would also have some base management and rooster creation, where you tailor the whistles school to give new characters a better start, you would also have two types of characters, the kids and the adults, adults are way better at combat and can hold their own, while kids are very poor at it and would need to avoid combat, but have access to secret areas that can provide shortcuts, resources, artifacts and even way to go up the levels by getting far away from the force field.
You would also be able to create strongholds in certain places, where you can "stock" veteran characters to party up with new chars as they get lower, the strongholds would also let you conduct research on artifacts and monsters to give you buffs and knowledge of how to fight them. They would also give you the ability of taking bigger items (like weapons and armor) back to higher levels, though the more powerful the item is, the higher the cost (if you know the shortcuts back to the surface you could also give the item to a kid and have it go back to the surface, thus bypassing the cost).
As you go deeper you could also find special characters (chars like nanachi, reg or black/white whistles) that can be recruited, each with some special abilities not avaiable to new characters.
Character ranking would be based on combar rating, speed of decent and rarity of artifacts found, with each whistle granting a certain number of points to be used to tailor that char style (a kid that is awesome on combat, a adult that is absurdly fast and can escape every enemy, or a character that has more resistances against the curse.

...

This is why /a/ is the best board tbh fam

Trips don't lie.

first person dungeon crawler with hunger mechanic and limited healing (only possible through rare, special items and prolonged camp, which would however consume a large amounts of resources)

You hve no idea what you're talking about. They don't have a standard, the reason for the rule to be there was only because it is not on other boards – /a/ is obsessed with banning crossposters and thus has a set of arbitrary rules that count on the user giving away in some manner that he had visited some other board within his lifetime.

Yup. /a/ wants very much to be its own board and site, removed from every other board. I'm almost inclined to agree, because Holla Forums's discussion qaulity looks completely cucked by Holla Forums at this point, and Mark is about as helpful as a 4cucks mod, what with his unresponsiveness and generally sporadic banning and deleting.

God damn you make me angry you little weebuck. I can just see you now, sniggering at having posted ANOTHER CUCKIME thread. Flicking back and forth between threads eagerly awaiting replies which are the only form of social interaction in your life. You've probably spent every night of 2017 this way, stuffing cheap processed food into your mouth as you shit up MY FUCKING BOARD with your vapid horseshit. The closest thing you have to friends are the ants living on the crumbs inside your keyboard, at some point we could have counted your mother but she probably doesn't go near the room now, even reaching for the doorhandle reducing her to a sobbing wreck. I can picture you reading this and thinking of an epic zinger to reply with, as you idly swing one of your poosocks around your head. The grin on your face revealing your yellow teeth accented with hints of green from copious consumption of Mountain Dew, the ends of your fat sausage fingers stained orange from Dorito consumption, your rows of hotglued figurines being reflected in the oily sheen. To call you subhuman would be degrading to subhumans, to call you scum inadequate since that's the only thing you produce. You are the lowest possible form of life, you are to single celled organisms as an abortion is to a person. I'd tell you to kill yourself but you're so fucking filthy your corpse would probably re-animate and continue as usual. An eternity of being flayed alive is not ample punishment for the severity of the stain you have left on this world, having to touch your rancid hide for even a semptosecond would be a greater punishment than that to whatever unfortunate entity had to carry out the act. Even once the stars have burned out, and the universe is an endless black void dotted with dead celestial bodies, it will be a worse place because you existed. For the love of god and all things holy, leave, and never come back.

thanks for the pasta

Open ended survival exploration game with permadeath. Roll a loli or shota, explore the environment, die horribly and learn from the experience. Doesn't have to be directly related to Made in Abyss, just inspired by it, though it will require fluffy Nanachis to rub and smell.

They're not quite as extreme faggots as they used to be but they still suck dick.

If you die by ascending from the 6th layer, you should be able to meet a narehate version of your previous loli/shota.

How would you model the 6th layer's curse in a game? I've been thinking about this for tabletop reasons where you can be way more freeform with the results, but it would be good to think about in vidya context as well.

For a vidya, I guess your character model gets more and more warped and you lose health as you go up, until you're fully hollowed and it's game over. For a tabletop it could inflict status ailments like bleeding and confusion, and fuck with your stats, until again you become a full narehate and lose your mind entirely.

There doesn't seem to be any sort of "degree" with the sixth layer's curse. You get hit by it, and you melt into whatever Mitty was unless you have extremely specific ways to deflect it to someone else so you only receive the Blessing of Fluffiness. It's an all-or-nothing sort of thing. It's tempting to just emulate the manga/anime and make it an instant game-over, but that's a bit boring. Anything less would seem like a cop-out compared to the effects of the other layers, though. Maybe something like a permanent loss of stats (like it drops your base HP by 10% or something), which by that point in the game would be a really big deal because you'd been taking great pains raising them the entire time.

What if it was an instant game over unless you found some rare artifact that deflects the curse elsewhere on the fifth layer.

Nanachi can see the forcefield and use her knowledge of it to avoid the curse entirely (once she became fluffy). There could be a high level or late game item that allows the player to do the same.

you all know that made in abyss is getting a sequel, right? a season 2, movie, or something of the sort yet to be announced.

but something at least. I think a movie for all of Idofront would be tremendous.

I remember in the manga, they discussed how the cave divers were able to survive going back up from the fourth layer at all, and neither nanachi, reg, nor riko knew how. So maybe as you dive in the abyss more you can develop a sense of the curse and how to avoid it, so as the player gets more XP or something the curse becomes more apparent and easier to avoid.

which does remind me, how would Reg's overcharged form work in a game sense? It seems like his llimbs become hyper-active in their extension and behave more like a sort of barrier of whip-like metal, moving more like an animal, launching himself.

...

There might be enough content by the time they finish with a season 2 to have enough content for season 2.

If you fill your meter or something you could get a sort of super dash ability, and you would a kind of field that does damage around you as your limbs whip around.

it would have to be extremely situational based on electrical surges.

Well I mean he only does it once, and not even the electricity of orth is able to activate it in him, it takes the entirety of the idofront to get him to that state, so it would probably be limited to just the best dad fight if you want it to stick to the canon.

thusfar, but who knows what artifacts are out there? Reg needs to be recharged after firing the incinerator enough times, this has been established. How will they do it deep in the abyss?

I think the Mitty-type narehates are like that because they got double cursed from the effect of the chamber. From what we've seen of the 6th layer in the manga, there's a lot of variation in the 'natural' narehates.

Well if they ever find some sort of lightning in a bottle relic, which is possible, then yeah it could happen. Otherwise he's just gonna have to conserve his shots. And likewise, we haven't seen what happens when he runs out of juice, if he shuts down completely, or if only incinerator stops.

Mitty types are from the curse, but I think that the ancap village narehates were transformed just by being in the abyss and their desires. It's a different type of hollowing.

I'm fairly certain it's implied to be a hibernating like-state similar to how he is discovered after Riko. It's likely indefinite until charged.

Don't know if you only watched the Anime or if you're caught up with the manga, but here's what we know: It is possible to deflect the dangers of the curse, but it requires a strong will or a human shield. Mitty and Nanachi were a very rare occurrence because Nanachi's preserved sanity and relatively tame transformation was the result of Mitty only desiring for Nanachi to be okay, while Nanachi's strongest desire was not to die, especially once she saw what was happening to Mitty. The Abyss seems to react to and reward strong feelings of determination and confidence. This seems to be why White Whistles have to be made out of another person that is attuned to and only desiring success for another person in their Delve to the bottom. For these reasons we can determine that the loss of humanity isn't a protective measure as much as it is punishment for those who do not have the will to reach the bottom of the Abyss. It senses the cowardice and reluctance of delvers who try to turn back and punishes them by making them into subhuman creatures of base desire. This is also why one of Bone Daddy's bodies started to become monstrous, but not go insane or melt into a blob of fur and flesh. In a way, the Abyss was making him stronger because it sensed within him the desire and drive to conquer the Abyss.

I thought he shutdown for riko because of his cool down after using incinerator.

It seems this has to do with using artifacts. Before they got down to the Seeker Camp, Habo gave them some special medicine that literally negates the effects of the curse in Level 2. Ozen probably just brute-forces it. While the Curse-repelling vessel eliminates it entirely, it seems likely that there are some relics that at least mitigate the severity. Considering Bondrewd was specifically experimenting with surviving the Sixth Layer's curse, it implies that at least he has gotten to the point where the curse of the other layers isn't even bad enough to bother with.

While his super-powered form was partially from absorbing all the energy from Idofront, the impact of the electrical shock also unlocked some kind of memories. Reg stated that he had a much better idea of how to use his body properly after that point. So it could be some kind of leveling-up system, where as you go deeper into the Abyss, more of your memories are unlocked, which enables you to gain more strength. This actually makes sense from a gameplay perspective, because (as a robot who doesn't age and cannot build muscle) Reg would have no other way to physically improve, compared to humans.

The narehates down there seem to have collected stuff onto their bodies through trading value. Like Majikay-whatever who is partially mechanical. How they've managed to retain enough mental ability to speak and conduct themselves similar to humans is unknown. Perhaps getting double-cursed is what makes a narehate completely mindless like Mitty and the other kids are, and otherwise you keep your brain but still lose your shape.

Makes sense.

user I…

smug_nanachi.jpg

Here you go user.

Don't think so. It probably would have taken more than two hours to carry him all the way back to Orth and into the orphanage, and he DID wake up immediately upon being electrocuted, whereas when he's in cooldown nothing can wake him.

Just because it kills whatever you put into it and then makes it a zombie, doesn't mean it doesn't also repel the curse. Those are different things. Like a functional gas mask, which also crushes your head and then turns you into DIO.

Cause it recharged him, he didn't need a cool down period. The only thing we know he doesn't wake up from is getting beaten.

No it kinda does. I'm pretty sure the point is that you die of the curse, and it resurrects you, rather than repelling the curse but also killing you and then resurrecting you.

Bonedaddy carefully manipulates children into loving him and becoming loyal to him and then locks them in a state of more or less only desiring good things for him, so when the curse strikes, the 'Cartridge' acts as a shield for Bonedaddy.

Wrong, soyboy

I'm not sure whether the vaccine was for the curse or the types of sicknesses found in the second layer. I think I've seen it translated both ways.

Layer two is just nausea and mild hallucitions, maybe just nausea. Having medicine to counter those symptoms isn't something special and shouldn't really be considered negating the curse.

And from eating hot coals, and from being stabbed and drilled, and from having a ruler shoved up his butt…

Anyway, except for the sixth and seventh levels (and maybe the fifth, if you have adult muscles that spasm so hard you crush your spine), the curse doesn't actually KILL people. The only reason Riko almost died in the fourth level was because of the combined effects of the blood loss and being poisoned, causing shock. But until you get to lower than Idofront, the curse is never by itself fatal. You just have to mitigate the symptoms. But being stuffed into a box that seals itself up (like a pocket-dimension) makes sense to prevent being hit by a curse that, according to Nanachi, is caused by your head and torso being pushed through layers of the force field.

I found the page. I think in the anime translation I watched was different, though.

Point is, electroshock seems like a reliable way to wake him up because it recharges him, whereas simply abusing him does not help.

Riko was a baby and going up from the 4th layer, she probably bled out and was resurrected. It seems to that the whole "it doesn't actually block curse" thing is true considering how it was supposed to be a shocking twist.

No, she was already dead. Stillborn. And then came back to life shortly after being placed in the box, during which they were still in the fifth later because Lyza was still recovering. But they later carried her up to the surface INSIDE the box, so it had to be doing something.

Can you simply not go to the abyss and have a cute Harvest moon experience on Orth?

It could've only resurrected her once they opened it again, so the curse couldn't kill her twice.

But why? it would just be harvest moon but there's a big hole in the ground next to you now.

Oh, I give up. Believe whatever you want to.

...

It's all speculation man, calm down. Have a nanachi to calm you.

Orth isn't all that great of a city.. Plus, the Abyss seems to subconsciously call to people and draw them in.

you are a gayfur, deal with it.

...

nanachi is genderless
nanachi is whatever you want xhe to be.

I've only watched the animu but

Orth is a backwater burg at best. The foreigners have way better tech.

Pleb taste detected.

name a better one.

This, Nanachi is obviously a girl. This "All cute girls must have a dick" meme needs to end. She also feels no shame at undressing Riko, gets embarrassed by Reg touching her, and teases Reg about girl-things.

You do know there's a trap in this story right?

Here it is from the author himself on Nanachi's gender.

Yes, doesn't mean Nanachi is also one.

he's just being cheeky.

I wasn't implying she was.

Apparently the author never specified whether she's male or female, but everything seems to point to her being a girl. I assume it's because the fans speculated when she was still ambiguous, and he just said 'sure it's a mystery.'

The guy has a mountain of fetishes, and as soon as he started seeing people doubt her gender, he probably popped a boner and rolled with it. Nanachi was definitely intended to be female.

Why are anime-related threads 100 times better on Holla Forums than /a/?

Shhh. You'll trigger the meidos.

niggaer breathing too loud triggers the meidos.

Man I dunno, I would have to watch the show first to even know what it is about. But I won't because this isn't the anime board and I have no obligation to do so whatsoever.

Almost certainly. But Nanachi was also intended to die in Idofront before she became popular.

So maybe fan-inspired deviations aren't always the worst thing.

...

All evidence makes it clear that Nanachi is a girl, so it's probably true, but one little "canon" statement derails it.

All evidence makes it clear that Marulk is a girl (just check out ; those are clearly budding breasts), so it's probably true, but one little canon statement derails it.

At this point, I think the author is just fucking with us.

I read that his editor advised him to rush the third layer and introduce a new character (Nanachi) since readership was low, but I hadn't heard that.

It was in an interview, I think.

Remember when she says to Bonedrewd how she'd been dreaming all this time of the day she'd take him down with her? That was the original plan. Dunno how, but she was gonna allahu ackbar him. Which probably means Zoaholic, which probably means Bonedaddy wasn't meant to survive the arc either.

Marluk is boy, those are puffy nipples, and it's strongly implied he's a boy in the anime.

There's nothing to prove that. Also, if it were a boy the pee would be shooting outwards not dripping down the legs.

something like Ico with a party system might work. Just my two cents.

nanachi mini game where you pet her and squeeze her between chapters like Paper Mario TTYD
playing as nanachi between chapters
She's the cutie who calms you down after intense gameplay

Dark souls meets monster hunter meets roguelike is probably the best choice for this though

Kemono Friends.

>Implying it not tons of precum.

no

Kemono friends has a slightly above average story and abysmal production values.

Plebs detected.

I liked Kemono Friends a lot, it was fun, cute and interesting. I even liked the shitty CG look oddly enough. For some reason, it just worked and I don't think I would have been as interested if it was animated in a typical way.

Is Kemono Friends the anime equivalent of DoD?

No, it's the anime equivalent of RWBY.

A goddamn steam engine.

...

Yeah the first thing I thought when I first saw Made in Abyss was "oh neat they made an Etrian Odyssey anime"

...

Who is implying that?

If you're playing as Reg, you can escape the fight without Riko being poisoned, I suppose.

...

I can't find anything on pantsu or nyaasi. Where are you niggers reading this? Is there anywhere without shit scans littered throughout?

I used bato.to since it's what my weeb friend uses. I don't usually read manga so I'm not familiar with what sites are good.

YES, ALWAYS, BECAUSE IT'S PINNACLE OF GAMING
What a fucking tard.

...

Imagine getting so anally ravaged by the mere mention of a game.

I'm just going to wait indefinitely like I did for Berserk to get good scans of that one fucking chapter.

I don't know what your threshold for "shit scans" is. I've been reading it on mangahere.co, and some of the chapters say (LQ) and some of them don't. There is no appreciable difference, except in the (LQ) ones the lines are slightly less sharp. It actually makes it BETTER, if you ask me, because it loses a bit of that penciled-in, scratchy look. But otherwise they're the same resolution and have the same quality of translation, and the translation seems consistent.

Everywhere else I look, they're all exactly the same.

This thread doesn't belong here.

Marulk is a boy, he's named after a fish that disguises its gender and jiruo and reg confirm it.

oh god its the "budding breasts and pee stream" scientist back again.

You want to fuck a little boy. Thats your personal shit to deal with, dont try to convince yourself by convincing others.

This thread doesn't belong anywhere.

...

I got Made in Abyss vibes when I played this part in DS3.
A weird area that keeps descending, too bad it was so short.

I swear to god, trying to find a playtrough that hasn't got a shitty commentator is harder than finding someone without HIV in san fransisco.

I imagine it'd play something like Ico. Helping Riko down into the abyss in a 3D puzzle platformer, beating away enemies and occasionally being able to blast them away with the Incinerator.

>8th layer: San francisco in 20XX

I thought the curses were meant to be bad?

Actually there is one place this fits, in a agdg thread. Even then that's a stretch because the fucker who keeps on making threads isn't gonna make a game out of it, he just wants to fap to an idea of a Made in Abyss game.

speaking of agdg, a group of us entered the ludum dare, and done of the possible themes is "into the unknown", so who knows, it might end up being made.

Cave Story already exists.

Speebot managed to break through the ass ceiling; maybe more people would be inspired if we actually honored his accomplishment of not being a useless douche once in a while.

Dadarashii was able to endure the curse just fine when he ran out of cartridges and just grew a down coat. I'm not sure if using the loli cartridges halfway up lessened the curse by halving the height he needed to ascend, or if the curse was already working on him despite the cartridges, but it seems it has less to do with the atmospheric pressures and more about the genetics the subject has. I mean, half of the citizens seemed to have lost their mind in the 6th layer, so becoming a narehate seems to be the exception, not something you can perfect.

It's a great little game.

Dont forget how nanachi and mitt's story is sorta like what happened to the esbat guild and scylla in EO2

Don't forget this LOLCOW.

These are some hardcore post-fap regrets you have right there.
What's up user, affraid you got THE GAY?

...

I use mangafox

I mean in the jap version Nanachi uses the gender neutral pronoun "oira" to refer to itself.

That was user trolling as far as we know. No connection to the agdg guy was made.

Nah, I'd prefer Marulk as a boy. I just think it's hilarious to point out how stacked the evidence is for them being a girl, as opposed to the only evidence for them being a boy is "some character thinks they are".

Also, in the translation I read for the manga when Jirou sees Marulk in the dress, it was something like "Wait, I thought you were…", which I first interpreted to be "…a delver assisting Ozen. Why the fuck are you dressed in such spacious clothing that could get caught on stuff? It's dangerous." I mean, just look how Riko dresses: pure functionality.

Marluk uses "boku" and "boku wa" in the animu to refer to himself, male pronouns. Some weaker evidence. When Reg asks if Marluk is a girl, Marluk is embarrassed at first, yet they get along fine in following scene where Riko shows up naked. I believe this implies he's male because otherwise the conversation would probably steer in a more embarrassing direction if Marluk was a girl. Marluk is also embarrassed by Riko being naked, and while this could be attributed to his meek personality, he also closes his eyes and partially covers them with his hands.

I don't trust pronouns because of

...

...

Marulk is boy. Ozen is grand-ara with fetish for cross-dressing shotas. And you will never be her cute little trap assistant.

there are some pretty deliberate implications that ozen forces him to dress up. She probably makes a lot of younger men do things they wouldn't want to otherwise.

B-but I don't wanna get fisted by ozen;_;
I thought that she was offering him a drink and perhaps other things.

like if you get drunk, I'm gonna take advantage of you for my own amusement kind of things. Explains his nervousness. Ozen is known for being weird.

An 80's arcade game in the style of Burger Time.

Made in Abyss sucks and is just 3edgy5u bullshit with gross out humor

...

I mean, between the no regards for human life monster that is Bondrewd, the murderous Psychopath that is Liza… being into domination is quite tame for white whistles.

Even then, after knowing the secrets of what a white whistle really is…

A total conversion terraria mod.

It seems that Lyza was generally a nice person, with the exception of being a drunk. The "annihilator" part came from her fighting hostile foreigners trying to take stuff from the Abyss. Now, of course, I expect that this to be completely turned on its head if Riko and co. ever actually FIND her, but still.

Speaking of Best Dad, though, what the FUCK happened to that elevator that he used to conveniently transport children from the surface all the way down to Idofront? Would have saved Reg and Riko a lot of trouble.

I don't think it was an elevator. More like an airship

Actually sounds like a breddy gud idea.

Presumably it's under even tighter guard than the normal ways down. It seems likely that something like that would be kept secret from the general population as well.

Well, if nothing else it's actually PRACTICAL. Though I have no idea how difficult modding Terraria actually is, since it would be done by fans for no monetary compensation, it's the only thing that stands a possibility of actually happening.

I thought it was a glorified caravan.

It's bonedaddy, it was probably a steel box with rockets or something like that.

What would you even do if she wanted to tear offyour clothing and dress you like a little girl? Shes so strong guys, like wicked strong.
Like she could worm a finger into your bootyhole and no matter how hard you clenched she would get it up there, shes that strong.
Ozen is spooky
