Games you know like the back of your hand

I think I replayed Super Mario 64 and Paper Mario one too many times now. I seem to know those two by heart now. The other day, I had a marathon session with SM64 and got all 120 stars in under a day. All because I knew what to do and where to go next.

And last year, I was trying to learn how to read japanese. I downloaded a japanese rom of Paper Mario and tried to decipher what the text said. I gave up deciphering it early on (too time-consuming), but still kept playing to the end anyways. Even if I didn't understand a single word, I already played the game too many times and knew what to do next.

I suppose Sonic the Hedgehog 2. These days it's just a lot of fun to play it and nail loop jumps to get insane speed boosts and use slopes in geometry to launch Sonic around. Mastering that is the most enjoyable aspect to Sonic.

I completed Splinter Cell Conviction 8 times, it was my only game for a while back then.

Super Metroid
Tons of arcade games I've single-credit cleared and/or gotten impressive scores in that you have to know like the back of your hand to do so well in.

Artifact speedruns of Morrowind are no problem for me at this point. I know every nook and cranny of that fucking elf-infested island.

I love how autistic I am about this game.

If REmake is anywhere near as good in replay value as the original I can't wait. I'm going through the entire franchise and I'm almost done with Code Veronica.
Took me forever to get to RE2 because I just had to get the special weapons for both characters in normal and arranged modes. I still boot it up and do a quick run through when I have around 2 hours to spare.
I'm no speed runner but I know every item and enemy placement and which areas I can access with either character at any time and it's pretty damn comfy.

Sonic 1
Sonic 2
Sonic 3
Sonic & Knuckles
Knuckles Chaotix
Sonic 3d blast
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Advance 1
Sonic Advance 2
Sonic Advance 3
Sonic Heroes
Sonic Colors
Sonic Generations

And no, i am not autistic, its just sonic games are very fun to repeat many times, and you eventually learn sonic physics perfectly.

Do you hate yourself?

And then there's the people who know their chosen game better than the back of their hand.

Both are perfectly fine once you get used to the slippery movement. Heroes is kinda boring because of the rails and forced repeatment of the levels to clear. At least the chaotix had a neat gimmick I guess.

I know Pokemon Emerald really well, I guess.

I'd say MGS3, but I seem to learn something new about it all the time.

Kingdom Hearts 2, I replay it yearly and know way more than I should for a Disney autism fest.

Personally, I've played Deus Ex so much that I know it almost like the back of my hand. I'm pretty sure I've uncovered all of its secrets, too.

Diablo 2.

Link to the Past.
Playing ALBW was a cakewalk because I practically knew everything. Game came disturbingly naturally to me.
But yeah Link to the Past they just found some strange way of making every single screen in that game memorable in some way.

I have yet to play that game somehow but goddamn that map looks like its straight out of a cartographer's top-tier porn folder, goddamn

skayrim

I have spent at least one thousand hours on 360 alone and the game has better atmosphere than most movies with the scenery and how shitty the city is.

...

Both Hotline Miami games. Clearing Hard Mode and going for full combos. I know the games get some shit here, but I fucking love the gameplay of them. Yes, even 2.

...

I was emulating SM64 the other day and couldn't figure out the fucking star in the cage on whomp fortress. I actually had to resort to googling it, I completely forgot about the owl. Got so depressed at my retardation that I stopped playing. I've been ruined by modern handholding vidya for morons.

...

I remember every single pixel of this game to a tee.

...

Pokemon generations 1 to 3.
HOMM 3.

I've beaten Zelda: Ocarina of Time over 50 times. Almost all of those were when I was under 12. It got to the point where I was doing a run of the game every day for a few weeks.
If I close my eyes and think about it, I can remember every layout of every dungeon. Every switch, room, key, chest, etc. I could probably be competitive at noglitch speedruns, but I don't find speedrunning fun.

Hotline Miami is probably one of them, since I've played it for many hours in recent years. Then there are the obvious ones like Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World, since I played them a lot with my dad and by myself. In fact, sometimes we still do play them.

How many hours can you spend on Hotline Miami? I did all the achievements and top ranked the levels a few years ago but that was still less than 50 hours

Last I remember it was at least 70. I'm in the mood to play it again now as well lel

The closest I am to having atusim teir knowledge of a game is Gotcha Force.

But the campaign incentivizes you to play it over and over, so even though I know how every playable character works, it's not as impressive when it's a side effect of how the game is played.

I'm surprised I haven't seen someone tattoo a guide to the OoT Water /temple on the back of their hand.

I've played it enough that I only need one level into HP and that has me set for the whole game. I even organize my deck so that each keyblade uses it's strongest attack in a combo. I still think it's really neat that the damage dealt by a keyblade can vary based on it's position in Sora's combo.

Know every fukken rock.

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
I played that game so much it's not even funny.

Megaman 1-6. SNES Megaman and onward never had the same feel. MM9 got damn close but in hindsight I think it was on accident.
MM2 is meme tier. Real patricians enjoy MM6. Best music, best bosses, Mecha suit, and alternate areas with fake bosses. MM6 had it all

I still remember runewords and build paths

...

Every Devil May Cry game, even 2 and DmC,
2 is mediocre but I still find enjoyment in some of the mechanics that are unique to the game.
DmC I couldn't stop myself from studying every inch of it simply to see how it all went so goddamn wrong. It just get's worse and worse the more you replay it.

and Dead Rising 1 but memorizing that game is practically a requirement in order to beat it.

are you serious?

Played it so much as a kid, I've memorized upgrade locations and the code for ultimate armor.

Lem Ko Tir
Tir Ral
Nef Tir
Lem Io
Ko Vex Pul Thul
Jah Ith Ber
Vex Hel El Eld Zod Eth

Go.

Yeah but that's where all the fun comes from.
You have 3 in game days to solve the mystery of how the out brake happened and your also going to be fighting psychopaths and saving survivors. if you die you can load a save or start over with out losing your experience.

By the time you get the true ending to the game and get to level 50, your going to know ever square inch of the mall like the back of your hand.

Whoops that should be Dol Io

I don't remember close to anything about that game other than not liking the art style very much and the HOO HAH HOH.

Shael Ko Nef
Nef Sol Ith
Tir El
Tal Dol Mal
Ort Eth

I used these low level runes the most

not including recent games, but these are all games i played alot in my youth and still remember like it was yesterday.

Memorizing is a consequence though, not a requirement. It's good design but not exactly going above and beyond.

I guess what I meant is just about everyone who has beaten Dead rising 1, has that mall memorized.

Gta Vice city, i just knew where everything where
Ocarina Of time, FF VII, Flashback,Guardian Heroes,Sm 64, Two crude dudes, Streets of Rage, Deus Ex HR, midnight resistance, Metal Slug, Road Avenger, Night Trap, Borderlands 1 & 2, Resident Evil 2. Those i knew back in the day, now not very much but if i play for a while i will start remembering.
Symphony of the night, Dragon Force and Radiant Dawn these i still do remember, specially Dragon Force, this one is still crystal clear just like in 1998 where i played for the first time…Only the cheat code i don't remember very well

Oh Dirge of Cerberus! I knew where everything was too

I can wreck any of you on Super Mario World, you fucking niggers.

...

Isn't much of an achievement buy hey.

I've never been autistic enough to play any non-sandbox singleplayer game more than once.

Not that anyone cares, because it's impossible to be the quantitative objective "best" at a sandbox game.

I beg to fucking differ.

I tried to like the X games, I even sort of liked X1 but holy fuck did the dialogue and shit level designs of "spikes = difficulty" really soured me on the X series.
I still think Legends is a better MM game than the X series.

I know every pattern fucking perfectly.
Except for Momiji, fuck her

Wet Io Jah Pul :^)

Hi CWC

I can probably draw a pretty good guide of the whole game off the top of my head.

That's still only the best by one measure: "maximum population". It's impressive and technically brilliant, but also ugly as shit.

Barbie Riding Club.

Not even kidding. It's become a tradition to speedrun it with my cousin at the end of a long new years night. Don't think we skipped a year since I was little though in the early years it wasnt exactly a speedrun and we couldn't complete it.

I see El Nido in my dreams.

Box art for you philistines who don't know what's good.

Pick my team, pick me the worst characters, I'll fucking 10 - 0 you, you bastard.

nice

Doom 1 and 2, i know where everything is on pretty much all the levels, Final Doom not so much.

It's probably by the nature of design, but I think I can rescue all the survivors and more importantly find all the hidden items and shortcuts during a fresh playthrough not counting the XP deficiency. Speaking of, are there any other games with a similar structure where it's almost as if the game expects you to exploit it and is totally okay with that?

My antique farm equipment

I swear I know Knee Deep in the Dead and Shores of Hell better than most places I've lived.

Which sidekicks are top tier?

None because I usually am too drunk to remember every single thing in a game when I play. Sober I'd remember SM64, Soul Blazer, Act raiser, SM world, A link to the past, Ocarina of time, Majora's mask, Tomba, Crash 2&3, all 3 PS1 Spyros, Mario RPG, Banjo Kazooie, DK64 and Ratchet and Clank 1, 2 and 3.

Stop being in denial

I know all of the Dark Souls games and Bloodborne inside and out, they're probably some of my most replayed games.

just east of Warren Penitentiary in the middle of the river is an invisible boat
they removed the render mesh but left in the collision so you can climb all over it

OOT
Majora's Mask
007 The World is Not Enough
007 Nightfire
Fable 1
Wind Waker
Vice City
Sonic Adventure 1
Sonic Adventure 2 battle

I know exactly how to 100% these games but I dont know the glitches or the fastest possible way to beat the games.

you know vice city huh. whats the main characters sidekicks last name

...

Final fantasy 8. Love it.Was the first FF I played and got me addicted to jrpgs.

Vance although I would rather call (((Rosenburg))) a better sidekick.

It was the first game I had for my PS2 in 2001. It was the only game I had for my PS2 until halfway through 2002. I must've played it for hundreds of hours and to this day, I swear I can hear the Triad lines "getting up all in my face" and "easy, dragon breath" whenever I go into Chinatown.

Well when that guys city beats the fuck out of your city you'll cry like a bitch. As far as I'm concerned he beat the game and fucked your mom through it as a bonus.

What's wrong with it? Way better than any 3D game.

I played this game so many times when I was young. I got to a point where I played to see how fast I could finish it.

Only HM 2 gets shit on regularly here, and that's because of how a lot of levels rely on guns and are poorly designed in general. A good example of this is how one of The Son's levels despawns an enemy if you choose killing punches since it can only be killed with a gun.

Honestly I'll continue to shit on 1 until they remove the fucking wavy camera. Shit gives me nausea and it affects aiming. Fuck it.

He posted a reaction image from Sonic Boom though.

Secret of Mana
Seiken Densetsu 3
Chrono Trigger
Vampire the Masquerade:Bloodlines
DMC3
Mass Effect 1&2
Skyrim

I have a few.

How about this. Games you HAVE to know like the back of your hand in order to advance.

To even get the achievements at least. Good fucking luck if you didn't play the games when they first came out and this is your first contact with the game. I played all the games in the series and I can't even get to the final song in the mission.

I've played this game so many times I could draw every level by memory
