Still thinking corporate bigwigs are right wing

Though seriously, can't people just stop buying lootboxes? is the human race so stupid it can't stop itself from buying a game cause Sterr Werzz?

Last time I checked humans adults have agency. It doesn't matter how many shareholders a game has. If the market doesn't like something loudly enough it will die. At the very worse it just spits off into it's own market and new business take it's place.

Though I do understand whales do impact this business model, I'm still not sure if legislation is a good idea.

C'mon, son

People are stupid, nothing new. Can't exactly blame them though, look at the world and the state of civilization. You either become a NEET who hates the direction of the world or a normalfag who will stay ignorant to keep their sanity.

Faggot. Also, why do you care about some jew youtuber?

...

They're "right-wing" in the sense of them being for the deregulation of their industry (and even then not necessarily that, they just want special treatment and to be able to walk all over their competitors). In every other aspect they are left-wing.

Not all people have the same capacity for agency, for as in any other human trait, distribution is unequal. Been a problem for a long time and over the last few centuries people threw away previous solutions.

You could wallow in apathy, or become a light in the darkness and spread Truth to prepare for the revival of the human spirit. It's coming.

...

Numerous weekly OPS not even lazily hooktubed with a relevant screen grab for the OP. All while they're throwing spaghetti over some faggot in a lol thread.

That's not how human psychology works. You can resist for a certain amount of time, but as long as the option is shoved down your throat, it's going to be progressively more difficult to do so. Go ahead, try it. Take something you know you'll love (a candy bar, a cigarette, porn, etc) and place it next to you on your desk. You might at first ignore it, but eventually your lizard brain is going to override you will to resist, and you're going to have to do something about it (either give in and enjoy it or you'll have to completely get rid of it). That's fine for a physical object, but what do you do if you can't get rid of the constant reminder that items in the cash shop are now 50% off for a limited time? You'll either give in a fork over some cash, or you'll drop the game entirely. If you're smart, you'll do the latter, but there are plenty of people who look at such a small investment and think, "fuck it, I have over 200 hours in this game, a one time microtransaction couldn't hurt" which then can start a precedent.

You might as well ask for an honest jew.

Darker the night, the brighter the light shines.

...

That will just ban lootcrates entirely. Not that that's a bad thing.

However the longer the dark the more light dies. How long do we have until we get past the point of no return?

NORMALFAGS

CATTLE

It's a shitty business practice, but people have the power to inform themselves and abstain from purchasing shitty products with shitty features. In the case of children, I think it's the responsibility of the parents to be informed adults and control what their children have access to. Burdens like these shouldn't be handed off to the government and those who fund it.

I understand the concern these posters have for people who aren't capable of exercising restraint, but I don't think the solution to this problem is to have governments control what people have access to and what they do with their own money. Legislation targeting lootboxes in video games would give the government yet more power over our lives. In any case, EA is garbage and I feel bad for whales, but this is ultimately a problem individuals and markets can and should solve on their own. Just my two cents, not terribly invested in this.

Nice time dubs, hotpockets!

100% demoralized

Some people can definitely make the right decisions if they're motivated, but I definitely don't expect the majority to. The worst case scenario is that EA keeps getting away with it because people keep buying lootboxes. This isn't desirable and it especially sucks for people who just wanted a multiplayer Star Wars shooter, but ultimately nobody if forced to buy it, they can buy games that don't have lootboxes or microtransactions instead. Hopefully dumb and/or impulsive people stop being dumb and/or impulsive, but I honestly don't care enough about those people to forcefully stop them from doing stupid shit. I don't care much about AAA multiplayer games, though, so it's not a big deal for me in general.

So basically in the only sense that matters then.

Nah, no profit driven company is left wing, that's an oxymoron.

Well yeah. (D) and (R) are both right wing. Welcome to burger politics.

Because the idiots who buy lootboxes influence how the industry behaves? You say you don't care much about AAA multiplayer games, you do realise shit like this is part why studios are discouraged from making singleplayer titles? Because they can make more money exploiting gambling impulses with multiplayer games?

But that doesn't affect me.
I don't.
Fine by me. I want nothing to do with the studios that are jumping on that bandwagon, since either they've never made a single good game, or they did long ago but none of the original staff are still around.

We've had 1-3 great games released per year for over a decade, and those games typically aren't coming from these big studios in the first place. Who gives a fuck?

I can't even blame companies for doing it at this point. People wont stop buying the fucking things. You'd be stupid not to give your audience what they so clearly crave.

Not really. Being left-wing in ideology means your games are full of propaganda
Being left-wing in terms of freedom of speech in current year means bowing to political correctness and censoring your games
being left-wing means there will be less merit in your product to begin with because you believe in "equality" over "meritocracy"
