Unity might be the only Ass Creed game which genuinely had me pissed off over what might have been. Glitches galore and Ubisoft kikery aside, it had some really great ideas on renovating the series' stale formula.

Unity's strength is the world design. Many buildings you can enter, including gorgeous palaces. Many secrets and attention to detail, too. If you want to visit Paris without dealing with the niggers it doesn't get much better than this. But the main story is utter trash. Unless you're an unrepentant royalist I guess, then I guess it might masturbate your sensibilities if nothing else.

AssCreed never had good gameplay. Never. Platforming and general movement is nearly completely automated, combat transcends simplistic and enters the realm of mechanics a lobotomized paraplegic could master in under five minutes, the narratives are always fucking trash (the latest installments going from mere leftist propaganda to Steven Universe tier idiocy) and the open world is pointless because there is fuckall to do in it. I guess current year +2 Marvel might come close, but even they have a glimmer of characters acting like normal humans from time to time. Rogue went completely under the radar, compared to how much better it was than Unity. It was 4, but as privateer templars in the snow and woodlands, and it halved the upgrade grind. The characters, story and pacing were better than Black Flag and miles ahead of Unity. It's worth picking up second hand for a few bucks, if more sailing and more Haytham is what you want.

Templars in Assassins Creed were always butt hurt at the French and it was the one of the few times the Assassins managed to perform a Templar purge. So as a result the Assassins essentially acted like Templars since they controlled the French leaders

I honestly prefer the Kenway storyline to Ezio's. I wish that we got a game about Haytham instead of Shay (though I like his character) to fill in the gap between Edward and Connor. Assassin's Creed III also could have easily been the best AssCreed and even a good game period if there were just a few adjustments.

I recently played the asscreed games in order to form my own opinions on the combat, the story, the mechanics, the settings and not just parrot other anons, sure anyone can post the wiki link about how Tesla killed Edison with an electric gun, or how the Templars created capitalism while the Assassins created communism, but that just shows how leftists the creators are, and how shit the backstory is, but that says nothing on the gameplay or the individual stories of Altair, Ezio or Connor. Also pic related, is a famous example of someone who played DOOM and thoroughly reviewed it. Would it have been screencaped if it was just a one posts with the message "it's shit"? I'd say no.

After reaching Black Flag I can say that the games are shit, but AC3 wasn't as bad as other people claimed it to be, though I played it long after most of it's bugs were fixed, and it's not a good game, but I think it had the most potential and it did some good things, that were forgotten about in Black Flag.

The settings and some characters and their stories are probably the best aspect of the series. The gameplay gets boring and too easy. I was burned off by it to even play AC4 even though people say it was good. I didn't even enjoy the pirating and ship play in the game, but did like simply sailing and listening to your crew sing shanties. I just saw my brother play the game and did kinda like some of the stories. Those deep moments with the characters did have an impact, I was even surprised at how poignant the ending was, even touched me a bit.

The people in charge of the settings, world design and all really do put their heart into it. It's a shame it is all wasted on average gameplay and other ubisoft fuckery.
