Mechs

Let's have a thread on any games involving mechs. How is everyone enjoying Gundam Versus?

generally speaking the more leg the better the mech tbh

Tank>legs

Has anyone tried that War Tech Fighters game? Is it good?

Mecha are a disease of the adolescent mind.

RESPECT THE ROBOT

Anyone here enjoyed Project Nimbus?

Why have mechs when you can haveerotic powered exoskeletal suits

...

Remote Control Dandy

Its more of a vtol missile spam type game. I don't think its bad, but it doesn't quite match up to ACfA when using infinite boost NEXTs and definitely not as good as when using the somewhat gimped NEXT set ups that can't use infinite boost.

Are there any good mech games coming out?

Golden mech era lasted for a while and then suddenly both west and japan forgot how to make a proper mech game.
And the cycle continues.

Gundam VS stands out as a dominant franchise in a genre that originated from V-On but is not limited to mechs.
And I heard that the newest one is bad, even though I can't verify it.
Then there is thriving SRW game with only a handful being released in english officially or otherwise out of 40+ something games. But compared to something like Front Mission it barely feels like a mech game, since customization is so very limited.
Not to mention chibi style ruin the whole mechanical war machine appeal to a lot of people. I can deal with it, but know a lot of mechafags that can not.
Then there is RTS genre that is also stagnating for years now, and mechs isn't even the focus there.
Then there was fucking Xenoblade X game, and we all know what jewtendo did to it.
And of top of it all you have obnoxious fetishists that start dumping their degenerate porn whenever topic is mentioned effectively putting the last nail into the coffin, just like furries did with walking animals years ago.
So yeah.
Mechs are dead.

To put it short it's barely above a 6/10 but there's so few decent games on the genre it's worth pirating

Mecha, yes.
Mechs, no.

Also compare code mirai trailer to the PC gameplay.
Console version gets a lot of polish and major voice actors to reprise roles, while PC version, which was crowdfunded and all, doesn't.
So even if you like 3D shmups in general I advice you to not buy it with money and pirate it instead.

Brigador is pretty solid.

Funny since Living Legends just got a new patch with Argus and Cauldron Born.

just realized that in all but one of those screenshots i'm using a non-mech. Whoops.

How's LL doing? They still have at least 1 active server? I had to stop playing when I had to change to a potato isp

So mature.

It's an online arena game released who god knows when.
If you're autistic enough to replay same shit, even if it's good shit, for decades - good for you.

That thing is a fluke. Devs admitted never playing strike or future cop games. I have no idea how it ended up being so not bad.
Lucky shot probably.

Mecha is pretty shit. That tends to be the human garbage.
True mechs are awesome, though.

There's enough people to fill a server or two during eu evening hours and later.

I hope Phantom Brigade doesn't suck.

Gundam Versus on PC WHEN

When Armored Core gets ported.

Armored Core can suck it. Bandai needs to get on the wagon now. I'm not gonna buy a ps4 anymore.

I still want ports for 1 through FA though.

Look up windom xp. In some ways it's better than Gundam VS.

Can't recommend this game enough, it hasn't sold that well but the devs are still updating it and show no signs of losing interest, intending to release a map editor in future. The visuals and music/sound are perfect and in terms of the feeling of combat it's the best isometric shooter I've played (others have more gamemodes, content, etc but didn't feel as tight and satisfying). There's a pretty big variety of vehicles and weapons, each vehicle having 2 weapon slots of a given class, with there being 5 weapon classes with 8 weapons each. Then a further choice of equipment with 4 choices. Vehicles vary significantly in size, speed and responsiveness so really do play very differently.

I can see myself playing this regularly for years to come, great little game.

that looks like a faggot trying to fit the largest dildo in his ass tbh

They dropped an update yesterday that added five new missions and a new vehicle, as well as car horns for all the vehicles.

Also, playing a mech is completely different compared to playing a hovercraft or a tank, or something like a bike.

It's X-COM with mechs.

thanks for clearing that up truly without such detailed descriptions I would never actually FEEL what that game is

I've worked with retards before, that's why I know the kind of difficulties you face in your daily life.

you sure that retard hasn't rubbed off on you? I was being sarcastic you know

Mechas will be popular again in twenty years.

Hopefully I'll live long enough to see that happen.

Anyone played War Tech Fighters? Looks like a slower Project Nimbus.

Figures I never acknowledged its existence.
Call me when it's actually out.

lol no.

there is no difference, the only difference s made by shitty westerners (like you) who think THEIR specific brand of giant robot is "more realistic".

Be it high fantasy machine like Aura battlers, or mobile suits. mecha is the idea that human technology can advance to a point where the tech level is viable to produce something like that.

reminder any type of design like that is kill if the legs are taken out due to lack of any type of AMBAC system. Even a Zaku II can reposition itself if it loses a leg and effectively become a giant stationary auto cannon

but user that design has the technology that's advanced to a point where it's viable to produce something like that

I just want a good Gundam game that lets me win the war for Zeon. And yes, I know there's Ghiren's Greed, but the faggots making that one wasted all the time and money making Feddie events for the post-OYW period leaving almost nothing for Zeon. How can they miss the point of such a game so badly?

This.
The only time Japs can come up with an even HALFWAY decent robot is when they are copying from western designs.
Pics related.

Boat + Legs > Tank

under the sea > over the sea

The difference between mecha and mech is arbitrary stupidity. Both of them are just fancy tersm for robots people pilot. Same shit.

I want fast paced mech combat with customizable mechs wielding ranged and melee weapons on a variety of scenarios including but not limited to cities, open ground, underwater, tunnels, and space.

what do you mean copying from western designs?
The image you posted essentially looks like a clone from a Warhammer 'Mech from the Battletech universe. And Battletech was essentially blatantly copied from Japanese designs at the time, from everything I've read about it. I distinctly remember seeing that reported several times over the years, if you're trying to claim Mech designs were a Western invention I'm pretty sure you're wrong.

Japs copy westerners but also outdo the originals. Then the westerners copy the japs and the cycle continues.

Why is the Supreme Commander community so autistic?
I love it

because collecting mass, building your base, managing production and controlling your army is a alot of finely tuned autism with very little margin of errors allowed tbh

they finally translated the skull stories game
romhacking.net/translations/3159/
now i wait for the do you remember love game

Nobody will ever touch Ace Frontier. Why live?

why let me live

It basically is just X-COM with mechs though. Except instead of being invaded by aliens, your country is invaded by some other human fags. There are two parts to the gameplay; management of your squad and then the tactical battles. Movement and actions are both governed by AP, but I'm not familiar enough with X-COM to know if this would be meaningfully different. I believe the dev claimed full ballistics simulatjon, with hits to different parts being able to cause different malfunctions, but from the demos I saw this doesn't include the environment. Or perhaps it just didn't apply to the missiles, which clip through terrain. I asked if they had plans for a combined arms approach to the game and the dev said that while they did not, they plan on shoving some sort of modding support in there.
On the squad management side, you have pilots and mechs. From what I can remember, the level of customization for mechs will be stats crunching and that's about it. You won't be able to add different kinds of chassis with different hardpoints or mounts and you won't have different types of locomotion available. Which is disappointing.
Besides ranks in veterancy or whatever they're calling their experience system, there is a nemesis system between your pilots and the enemies. In the battles, you can either blow the fuck out of enemy mechs, with reduced salvage, or you can disable it and let the pilot eject. The surviving pilot will be able to appear in future battles and be more of a bitch to handle. Killing a pilot affects his surviving squaddies in a similar way, but I am unsure if it's to the same degree.

Also, reminder that the dev team consists of one programmer and three or four artists.

In nipland mecha just refers to anything mechanical, because it's literally a shortened form of the word.

sounds like it has more depth to it then nu-com tbh

Man, I so fucking love Mil-Agro combots.
Something about the simple geometric shapes and massive air intakes that makes my blood flow.

Although, nothing quite appeals to me as much as the Jaywalker.

I really wish there were more simulator games for mechs. You never get to many games with a cockpit view.

Westerners use the term "mech" because to them the entirety of japanese mech is humanoid machines that fly around. Looking at shit like Gundam going from OYW suits all of the suits are basically ground based. none of them can fly under their own power and when they ARE zipping around it's usually in space

Try rise from the ashes for dreamcast. JP version because JP version had a bonus disc with extra stuff including the RX-78-2 beam rifle you could use.

there is a translation for front mission 5 for the ps2 emulator. Improves Fm4 in every way.

...

hi is this the mech thread

...

Problem, Officer Faggot?

Battletech's Space Japs are better than real Japs.

Chickenwalkers are QTs.

Nothing, just funny you mention it when a few of the designs are taken from nip shows like Dougram and Macross.

If you want really nice designs, look at the shit Nagano did for shows like Heavy Metal L-Gaim and five star stories.

A lot of the older (now Unseen) designs were basically purchased by FASA from the Japs. Some of the Reseens look pretty good, others not so much, but there are actually tons of designs that they didn't pinch from the Japanese (and some of these ended up being the best-looking - pic related. MWO is shit but the MWO Cent is a sexy beast, FlyingDebris does good work for the most part)

My issue with western mech designs is they're all really boxy. Even nips do box designs a bit nicer. Pic related is from Xabungle, most of the machines in the show use gas engines. Xabungle itself, the titular mecha uses a 16 cylinder engin.

Raven is actually pretty sleek and rounded (the MWO version looks a bit more angular, which kind of ruins it for me. MWLL version looks correct.) But yes, there's a very "chunky" aesthetic going on with a lot of the western designs (it mostly depends on which artist did the illustration I find).

fucking clueless nips, mechs would clearly need diesel engines to power all them hydraulics

Diesel or gas, wouldn't matter. They'd be better off using the engine to generate electricity and making a hybrid power plant. Electric has far better characteristics for this application than simple ICE.

It's silly. Then again Xabungle is a earth that's been fucked so hard by war the original inhabitants of earth are dead. Those left on the moon tried to come back and found the environment had changed so much they couldn't live on the planet and thus enacted a literal breeding program to make a breed of human that could live on the planet and could live on the land.

Entire show is nuts and you don't learn about this till midway where it turns out that once the innocent (whats left of the original strain of mankind) find Civilians (The humans that were made to be able to live on the planet outside domes) that could live life without the help of the innocents, the innocents were to give up the land to the civilians. But of course assholes with power are a thing and instead of it being the guy at the top of the innocent's power structure, it's his right hand man who wants to keep the civilians under the rule of the innocents and the entire show then becomes a sort of war. Civilian vs innocent.

Show's worth a watch. Tomino wrote this show when he was in one of his good moods. so you get silly shit like this

...

the context of this scene is Jinron's group is close to the final bout at X point where the Kashim is. The weaselly little fuck works under kashim and launches the ICBM at Jinron's group an a attempt to just stop them altogether.

I really can't wait until the HG fiasco is fucking done and over with. While MW:O has already been going down the shitter, I still want to see some of the final classic unseens make it to the game so that I can extract their models. If there is one thing that MW:O does do well in, it's the artwork department. I personally can't stand the anorexic look of some of the classic mechs.

A lot of the newer TROs did much better on that, I think. The Timberwolf/Mad Cat is a classic but those legs don't look like they have any myomer bundles or armor to them at all really.

IIRC the HG fiasco is over and HG is dead.

I kinda like it, but grinding for GP is impossible outside of multiplayer matches and I'm finding those harder and harder to find in my region of the US…

In pace requiescat. Good riddance. (Now we might actually see more Macross/Robotech shit make it stateside)

You sure about that? According to this Jew that studies law it sounds like it is far from over. It's gonna be another 4 years before Harmony Goldbergshekelstein finally loses their rights to the Macross franchise. And according to a fuck up from Tatsunoko Productions during a recent trial, HG apparently has the rights until the trial expires. That means more harassment to HBS and PGI unless they settle before the court date on September 2018.

Derp I forgot the link.

alrighty. So 4 more years of ROBOTECH bullshit that will never happen.

ALso if people haven't yet, watch Genesis Climber Mospeada. Good show, was used as part of robotech as the 3rd leg of the series.

I'll be honest there's no love lost between me and PGI/HBS but I do want them to win this. Since Micro$oft owns Battletech now they should be bankrolling the effort to curbstomp HG.

Are there any good mech games for the ps4? Isn't there supposed to be a new armored core game coming out in 2018?

muh nigguh.

Gundam Breaker 3 and Gundam Versus are your options as far as action games, while SD Gundam GGeneration Genesis and Super Robot Wars V are for strategy. The SRW people are also making a Full Metal Panic focused game.

They need to win this or else HG is going to further IP troll anyone who dares design a mech without their permission. They want a stranglehold on the rights for royalties for any company who dare makes a mech robot. Look at the Transformers/GI Joe case they tried suing Hasbro for. They got curb stomped during that trial and I'm hoping the same happens during the September 2018 trial. I wish a freak earthquake or a natural disaster would hurry up and destroy California already. Maybe based NK nips would nuke them.

Isn't gundam Breaker 3 only in Japanese though? Isn't there also a shit ton of dlc or something like that?

There's an East Asia version that is in English, and it was re-released a few months back with all the DLC included, called Gundam Breaker 3 Break Edition.

*Engrish
It's important to note the translations are held to nowhere near the standards you're probably used to.

The cheapest I can find a ps4 version of the game is also close to 90 dollars.

Yeah, some of the skills are haphazardly translated. It's firmly in between Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers which is nigh unreadable at times, and Super Robot Wars V which could probably be released as is in the US (if not for licensing).

Welcome to importing vidyas.

I just hope more gundam games come over here. I would like something more slsoer pace than Gundam Versus though. Something like zeonic front, journey to Jaburo, or Missing link would be nice.

Something like action strategy would be nice, yeah. That said it didn't help too much that Gundam Versus got trashed hard in Japan to the point of being 40 bucks within a few weeks of release. It makes me think we're destined to just get the games Bandai Namco isn't confident enough to push solely in Japan.

It does seem like that. This gundam versus is ok, but it still falls flat compared to the older ones. Federation vs zeon and Gundam vs zeta gundam still seem more enjoyable with a more paced gameplay. There also used to be more variety of grunt mobile suits outside of a constant stream of gundams.

...

Good taste.

Zudah and Kampfer are my two go to suit for Zero G combat. Feddie suits can't keep up with me and if my Zudah takes too much damage and retreat isn't an options I'll allahu ackbar them by outranging the zudah's engine and trying to ram a group of fed suits with it. The resulting explosion usually gets at least a kill or two

I bet you don't even have trading cards.

I have a Zeta Gundam one from my import of SRW V or GB 3, one of the two.

for me is a hit or miss, mostly miss

Triangle Frontier is better game anyway.

Let idiots be idiots and educate them. Mech and Mecha is the same shit.

Hello there Scopedog ripoff.

My issue with nip mechs are name.
What does "Mazinger" mean? Does it mazing people? Majin is some sorta jap devil, so Mazinger devils people? What the fuck?
Or Getter!
What does it get? Where? Why?
Or Gundam. More like condom lol.

Can we join your thread?

Filtered.

the ger in mazinger is, in kana, ga. Ga as a particle in grammar is used to denote the subject of a sentence with special emphasis. So it's emphatically a devil
Getter may have been derived from gettan (first day of the month) or geta (wooden sandals). Or it may have just come from the english phrase "get 'em" or "go-getter"
Gundam…don't know where the dam comes from but the gun part is obvious enough

Why couldn't you bitch about Ideon or Escaflowne or something similarly without possible origin

Getter was named Getter because its powered by getter rays.

And if I'm remembering it right the creator of Gundam said he named it that because he wanted it to represent power and defence. Gun for power, and dam for defence. Because it blocks water and shit.

it started with macross, or super dimension fortress macross. sorry m8 i love ALL things FASA and battletech but it was the japs that put the content out there then Fasa had it and now i think Harmony gold and pirhana games holds rights to different "seen" or unseen mechs

Ideon or Escaflowne sound cool as fuck.
Getter sounds stupid.
Which is weird since Getter itself is cool and Escaflowne sucks ass.

What do those rays get then?
I know fucking lore, it's just a random ass word that sounds dumb.

"eidolon
ei·do·lon
1. an idealized person or thing.
2.a specter or phantom."

I'm gonna take a guess and say it comes from the word eidolon.

if I understand this correctly, the judgement does not cover actual ownership of the Macross franchise internationally, but of the series and characters under their English names.
any Macross series that does not include characters from the original 3 series that went into Robotech should be fair game for dubbing

possibly, but it also comes from the freudian concept of the Id

Maybe it was named after a scientist with the last name of Getter?

Maybe when Getter Emperor shot his rays back in time he also implanted the idea of calling himself getter into the humans in a time-paradoxical sort of way?

Does that game have swarm missiles? If it does I'll vote for an honorable mention

That shit was fucking repulsively bad when I played it in 2015
Like "frictionless wet soap sliding on infinite bathtile" bad.
Infinite "speed" but no reference points to give you a sense for it, and engagements only being autoaim press 1 button to win bullshit at green boxes that represented enemies far outside of draw distance. Every single shill for this game, all three of you, should kill yourselves.

Northstar has dumbfire missiles, Tone has guided missiles, and the singleplayer titan has multilock and a quad missile launcher. Viper's just got missile's for days.

That whole "not a mech" interview is still one of the worst interview blunders in an industry filled with them. He might as well have just said "we don't have nor want an audience". It took a lot of love being put into the second game to get back respect.

You're just playing as a giant dude.
It's not porper mech game interviews or not. Same as Shogo.
It might be a cool shooter, but the point of mech games is to make your robot feel like vehicle, and not just big guy.

After playing it, I can't agree. In a typical shooter the difference wouldn't matter, but titans play completely differently to pilots and it really does give it a strong mech flavor. If it was just Titans alone it'd be bland, but the whole medley of mechanics that go into it make piloting a titan have a real pleasant feel with how often you'll be jumping in and out. Yeah, it's not mechwarrior, but it's probably the best action-fps mech game out there.

Also, I've never seen anyone actually say what they'd want to be changed about them to make them "real". They have nice boxy huds, a stompy movement, thrusters, weapon arrays, emergency ejections, and can be ridden or grappled. What's the missing ingredient here?

Eroticism.

You answered your own fucking question.
If in your mech game it's more fun to be out of the mech instead of being inside of one, they you done fucked up son.
Might as well play fucking call of duty.

I hate you even more than TF shills. Kill yourself.

...

Titans are great fun to play as, though. Learning how to counter pilots is one of the more enjoyable aspects, and it's by properly using what the titan offers. It's a constant tug of war between using movement vs using your titan abilities correctly. What I meant is that titans alone wouldn't work near as well because the game is inherently structured around using, losing and dealing with titans. It's extremely rare to finish a match with your first drop, even if you're a great player. Any game would suck if you cut half of the integral mechanics out.

It has its nice moments, but overall it's kinda mediocre. The part designs are a boring western clusterfuck, camera is really wacky during dogfights against light fighter jets and the controls are not really responsive.
But it has some nice customization, lots of "research" upgrades, not that bad pvp fencing close-quarters fights and the finishing moves' scenes are cheezy and nice.
Basically, don't expect much of it and you will get enough content and fun.

TLDR: 6.7/10

Shit, sorry for my autism, every time I write "PvP" I mean 1v1 duels

There's also a Gundam VS mod for Windom XP

it's shit

The gundam thing is retarded and should be considered not true until someone pulls out a good interview with Tomino, preferably not a ANN one

You also fucked up Mazinger is pronounced Majinga. A Mazin is a type of demon IIRC.

How good is Hawken? My friend raves about it, but it looks like pay to win shit.

It's garbage. Played very early in it's life combat is boring. and just generally avoid it at all costs.

I enjoyed it in its prime, it's dying now though, not worth picking up anymore. Server shutdown in like a month.

Isn't a new armored core supposed to come out soon?

get this hothead out of here!

Shogo is shit in general

So how long until a dam with a gundam head on it with giant devastating weapons where the vulcans would be shows up? Let's just go full circle on this.

They actually licensed some designs from Macross, but that was only for the very beginning of Battletech, the Clan mechs were all Western designs, and I dare you to find something more iconic.

They licensed designs from various different franchises from second hand company who had no legal rights to license them out.

Any other good real robot games other than Front Mission and Armored Core?

Didn't realize Tatsunoko was a second hand company

OG macross games tend to be good, but most of them are in jap, obviously.

golden BBs are like 2/3 of all good games. just look at the mountains of trash sequels that can't even recreate the core gameplay of the original.

i chuckled

no they actually did have the rights too, but Harmony Gold had toy distribution rights and that's how they sunk FASA, they construed miniatures as toys in the courts.

I will never understand the hatred for the Pirahna redesigns. A lot of the early IS shit was in dire need of redesign because they were just fucking hideous and wouldn't fucking work (Kit Fox, Jenner)

Go away hotwheels

Miniatures are toys though.

I'm not entirely sure where that hate comes from. I don't hate most of the Piranha redesigns (done by FlyingDebris, actually). I do think the Direwolf/Daishi looks too blimpish even for a 100-ton assault (the concept art did not look nearly that rotund), the Warhawk/Masakari Prime's missile rack is in the wrong spot and makes no sense IMO, the Urbie doesn't really look trash-canny enough but it's not too bad…

Most of my issues with the looks of various mechs stem from the one update where they "standardized" the way hardpoints look with mounted weapons and how it made things scale oddly/fucked with geometry. The rest of them are issues not actually related to the designs themselves but to other closely-related things.

>no porn

Nagano's only good designs are the ones that ended up refined for Zeta Gundam and Brain Powered. Everything else is too gaudy or flimsy.

Zeonic Front

At least Battle Operation 2 will be a thing

What the fuck do you think mechs are?

I'm not seeing the erotic here.

piloted giant robotic machines with bipedal(or more) movement

+ Cute
+ Extremely nice
~ Shy
- Easily bashful
- Kinda boring

+ Professional
+ Loyal
+ Always there for you
- Stern
- Expects you to pull your weight at all times

+ Flirty
+ Playful personality
+ Great in bed
- Wants to be out all the time
- Never appreciates the little things

+ Always DTF
+ Is up for basically anything
~ Absolute thot
- Will probably leave you after a month

Which one is your waifu, Holla Forums?

Medic because it was the most fun class in that game.

Fuck off, that retard completely changed the art style, and specifically ruined half of the mechs (madcat and dragon for example)

What a shit fucking eva clone it was.
The only redeeming factor was villain being batshit tranny.
Terrible show.

...

I was going to say no one is upset at the redesigns for the Pgi designs but hey we found that guy. I will admit that I am pissed the remade Nova has a torso, but fuck the old timberwolf noodle arms.

That horizontal shadow-lining is a great way to hide things and not give a single fucks about proper detailing.

The noodle arms are part of what makes the Timberwolf. The original design emphasizes the cockpit area, keeping the limbs skinny as not to draw attention away from the central focus of the mech. PGI's redesign makes everything too thick, and the cockpit barely has the emphasis of the original, as a result. The new design just blends together, while the original has a distinctive, iconic silhouette.

The original design also looks fucking terrible, but that's par for the course when it comes to Battletech.

I have to admit, gondola nova is growing on me

There's being a purist and then there's being a stubborn retard.

West can't into mechs.

is that a nip mech?

Medic is clearly the best choice.

I downloaded it half a decade ago and never played it. I wanted to finish FM4 first, but, damn, it was a let down compared to FM3.

Now that you reminded me, I guess I'll just fire up the ISO and skip FM4 entirely

It's like you hate dakka or something.

bump

Ok let's do this.

How much hp or watts does the titular mecha need to run? Because next is to calculate the fuel consumption rate.

great way to kill the thread faggot

I've been using a hacked PS2 to go back and play the Armored Core games, which I didn't get to spend much time with in the past. Starting with Armored Core 2, this game is a fucking slog so far. Half these missions are an endless parade of the same dumbass helicopter enemy. I'm tempted to skip the rest of this game and export my 600,000 credit AC into the next installment. I remember Another Age had much more creative mission design.

Just like jrpgs and crpgs.

80% of AA is filler or annoying missions

They painted that model. Watermarking is valid.

I've been playing MSGO since it came out of invite only beta years back. Right now the only complaint I have is the shitty ranking system they use.

also
Good fucking show and good fucking designs.

On the subject of GBO. It's nice in practice but the EN system was fucking retarded and the game was heavily P2W. Will probably skip GBO 2 because you'll need to pay to play online and it will no doubt carry over their microtransaction shop. I wish they'd take the concept of GBO but apply it on the scale of MSGO.

I have no clue. Xabungle never went in depth and the thing is the innocent, the people who designed the machines used by the civilians (people LIke Jinron and his friends) kept that shit a close secret.

More or less the innocent in Xabungle treated the civilians like test subjects, which they were. The civilians were a selectively bred race of human meant to survive in the much harsher climates of the now heavily ravaged earth. But going back to that gotta remember Xabungle was made in the 80s so in terms of engine design scale it back a few years from what you have. Looking at MAHQ there are no entries from Xabungle sadly. Dunno if they ever made any data sheets

Mecha treats machnes like they're somehow psychically controlled suits.

Mechs are massive fucking machines controlled with throttle and yoke, and operate like fucking tanks.

Jump straight to 3.

You're making this up aren't you? Or maybe you're confusing real robots with super robots?

Mechs try to appeal at least believable by making up how all of that shit works. Examples
sarna.net/wiki/Myomer
sarna.net/wiki/Heat_Sink
sarna.net/wiki/Gyro
sarna.net/wiki/Fusion_Engine
sarna.net/wiki/Neurohelmet

mecha don't give a shit about it, they're ninja heroes disguised as robots.

Why does that look like the cover of some kind bara hentai?

It's a comedy. Half the fucking show is Looney Tunes-tier.
Forget about engines and fuel consumption, first try figuring out how they operate the fucking things using nothing but a steering wheel and gas pedals.

Is Gundam Vs dead or something? It is hard to get any matches, and the ones you do get will DC if they are losing or get paired up with a specific suit. A lot of people also just pick the meta suits rather than anything else, so you just constantly see the same thing over and over again.

I ditched AC2, but I kept AC3. Haven't played it i forever but I remember it feeling a little more like the original than AC2 did. Also, this thread needs to get more RAD.

git gud

fuck you guys, I'm out.

There really needs to be another armored core game. Armored Core V felt kind of rushed.

Fucking opening image is from Armored Core.

It's a living nightmare tbh. To add insult to the injury it plays with KB+M surprisingly well.

Just stand there and git hit in ct/head?

They were working on it for about five years, user. My guess is that attempting to do multiplayer the way they did was a bigger challenge than they thought, especially given some of the things that they did. Some of the systems they included are really good, like having actual firing arcs, and how kinetic weapon damage would drop off at longer ranges. I didn't like the movement system or armor system that much, though. I think they could justify the different weapon types well enough in single player if they brought back some of the crazy shit like giant bugs.

Come back after I upgrade my toaster, the PS2 emulator is really demanding for specs. Otherwise I'm just playing mech games I missed.

NO, FUCK YOU

With battle operation 2 coming out, do you think there will finally be a US release? It seems possible since they brought Gundam Vs over.

>game censored so hard it's censored out of people's minds

Hey, they use gear shifts

You mean like Gundam :^)

You're confusing shit like Mazinger Z with shit like Dougram or Vifam. Even in the original MSG you had none of that shit. Most you got was the Gundam "Jumping good" on earth because the thrust output it had was just that beastly even Garma Zabi thought the damn thing was capable of flight. The best MS tech got during the OYW was the Dom and it's ability to hover over terrain.

It wasn't until zeta gundam you saw MS with the ability to fly under their own power and even then it was very limited. Even the Asshimar was only capable of flight under it's own power thanks to a combination of breakthroughs in MS tech like the moveable frame that the Gundam Mk II was a test bed of. The only suits I can remember in 0088 that were capable of flight under their own power were

When you get into Shit like Getter and Mazinger you get into the real of super science and stuff like that. I mean Getter is able to change size and mass during transformation. It's never really touched on but it's there and you're left to guess how it's done.

Getter rays yo.
Getter can become size of the planet if he eats enough of them, so yeah it kinda explains everything it can do.

Does this have any connection to Phantom Crash?

The amount of grunt suits in Gundam Vs is pretty small. Are they adding any more?

I wouldn't have thought they would, but it was a surprise they put in as many as they did, the franchise had really moved towards only having main characters. The DLC does seem focused on adding more secondary characters and the latest announcement is adding Mudrock and a Zaku 1 from Zeonic Front, so maybe more game characters, which will likely mean more grunts.

If you play the older ps2 games they have truckloads of suits.

Easier than I remember but still soild overall.

Well that's only touched on with shin and G touches on it. Before that Getter rays are seen as a new clean energy source surpassing nuclear energy. The implications come later. The heaviest implications come in the Shin Getter manga when Getter Dragon, piloted by Benkei goes critical. But not in the Musashi way.

Should've bought FULL BOOST.

Zeon did something wrong They followed Ghiren instead of it's rightful heir

At least all of that is canon written by the man itself.
Japan was always tsundere towards radiation after nukes, so getter rays are clearly radiation 2.0.

I've never even seen that boss before in all my years of watching armored core games. I guess last raven was one of the ones I couldn't play on the emulator without using software mode and it looked terrible.

Twin stick shooters aren't hard to design, man.

Going to dump Mech related webms. Please stand by.

Sorry got distracted by a trap in the gamenight thread, resuming mech dump.

My nigger, Patlabor 2 is a masterpiece.

Wish I had my discs somewhere I need to rewatch it sometime as I don't remember much honestly

...

You've got torrents my nigger

...

Aye but I am a disc autist
Still time to rewatch EVERYTHING

What media is the Zaku desert fight from? I have watched MS Igloo and know that isn't it, but the cgi is very similar.

Then you clearly haven't watched all of MS Igloo cause it literally is from the first series of MS Igloo. Second episode to be exact.

Well damnit, I thought I did a while back. Think it was the 3rd installment then or something, it was almost entirely in Space on a battleship. I'll have to go fetch it thanks.

I am a little concerned now user, there is MS Igloo which has 6 episodes focused around the crew of a Zeon transport testing experimental weapons and then MS Igloo 2 which has 3 episodes focused around Fedcucks and a theme about there being a "God of Death"

Igloo WAS released in 3 installments, 3 episodes each and a couple of years apart from one another.
MS IGLOO:The Hidden One Year War

MS IGLOO:Apocalypse 0079

And MS IGLOO 2: The Gravity Front

I have the older ps2 games, and that is why I am kind of disappointed at the lack of grunt suits. I just want to play as some of the aquatic mobile suits. Acguy a best

I wonder if battle operation 2 will have a campaign mode instead of just being a simple freemium multiplayer game

i really want a new gundam cockpit simulator.

the last one that they made was operation troy on xbox360 (japan only) and it was a shame because you could freely switch to 3rd person with a wider fov and the cockpit view became a mostly useless novelty. at least they made unique cockpits for every unit.

I know it is supposed to be like the first one with slower gameplay compared to NEXT. I heard rumors that it will come to the U.S., but I am not sure if it will have that freemium bullshit. I hope it does not since it was fucking retarded in the first game.

WHERE IS ARMORED CORE 6 FROMSOFT

No idea but here is something else Fromsoft that will cause screeching.

Who the fuck would elect someone called Gormit Sin to be a President of anything?

Same people who would vote for Shillary Clinton

It still hurts.

So Mechwarrior gamenight coming soon anons.

That Dual Gear game looks pretty good, but a lot of the customization does not seem to have drastic changes on appearance in the trailer.
Gundam models have become an addiction. I planned on only getting one, but I soon dropped like 200 dollars getting a whole set to set up some autistic battle scene.

The irony is HG has basically jewed themselves into a corner, suing people over rights
THEY NEVER FUCKING HELD
Even after this lawsuit, even if they win, once the truth hits public record, they're fucked. They chummed the water themselves.

How is project Nimbus?

...

I only dig RTS with mechs. any first person mech game is hard af to play. I tried the first two Mechwarrior games (the DOS versions) and the new one, and its too much multitasking bs.

You still have MechCOMMANDER 1 and 2.

It's a glorified shmup.

you know I'm gonna look those up rn.

wait, looking at the screenshots I think I've played this before. it was hard as usual

btw was there such a game called Mech Assault? or is my dude lyin'?

Mechcom2 is fucking gold.
Haven't played 1st one, but you probably should play it first. I remember being confused at the start of the sequel.

It's an Xbox exclusive. You can't emulate it I think.

Pls

god i miss that game

I miss my rocketpod defender. I did pretty good at the game and we would do pretty good against randoms and AI. Unless its was the white knights, fuck those hounds. Wonderbread was pretty hard to fight too.

...

I remember taking on the Sal Kar secret weapon solo in that game as nobody felt they could win against it. Kept pounding away at it but it seemed like I was going to run out of ammo, then my final salvo caused the thing to explode.

Titanfall 2
Zone of the Enders

My group and I all went against it together and won, and after that we just found ways to cheese it. Most efficient and easy way to solo it we found was to make a hound with spacers off to one side with a bunch of artillery, load incendiary rounds, and take cover behind a COMBAS or something and just fire incendiaries into it, they do damage over time to it and will kill it more efficiently than just about anything else.
We grinded it for all it was worth solo after getting one "authentic" victory.

they're both stand-alone. the first one is clan invasion, on a single planet. second is FedCom civil war. first one drools atmosphere, like a Tiberian Sun.

First one is actually Operation Bulldog which is an InnerSphere counterattack against Clan Smoke Jaguar set during the same time as Mechwarrior 3. Then there's an expansion pack set post Bulldog against renegade Smoke Jaguars.
I remember capturing a Mad Cat early in the campaign which just made the only campaign a cakewalk. One thing Mechcommander did well was stress the importance of salvage but also showed how powerful Clan tech really was. Mechcommander 2 especially was good at portraying the impact Clan tech could have on the battlefield. When you have to face a whole company of Steiner Assault mechs but field a lance of Blood Asps, now that was fun
