Honest question, why would anyone give a chance to destiny 2?

who cares?

It came out?

There goes their microtransactions market

Since this is a gambling loot crate game I imagine it will get all its players back once it hits the gambling market on PC

...

...

this is the PC we're talking about, it's a billion dollar industry for gambling games like csgo and dota 2.

The FPS-RPG genre didn't deserve to be saddled with such awful developers.

How much money did ActBliz invest into making Destiny a series? Half a billion right?

...

Why can't Bethesda fail like Bioware and Bungie have?

Good, I love witnessing butthurt over things that should be a no brainer.

The original Borderlands was fucking fantastic, you shut your whore mouth.

the lootcrates in Destiny have no speculation aspect. Its a closed market with Destiny funbux which I assume would have an even lower turn around than WoW gold.

only if your game is addicting enough to keep people playing obviously.

...

They're a publisher with many other things to fall back on, not just a developer.

Kind of disappointent but also surprised

They had a taunt in the game based around the Monty Python sketch about the Ministry of Silly Walks. The character walks backwards slightly while doing it. There is no collision detection while doing this. Do it while facing away from a wall and cancel halfway through and you'll glitch behind the wall. This works with nearly every wall in the game, and competitive is full of people abusing it right now. The taunt was removed from being obtainable, but if you already have it you can keep and use it.

Destiny 2 is a step back from 1 and is so shit that even Reddit constantly shits on the game. They got even more upset when Bungie's response to the lack of endgame turned out to be "The real loot is the friends you find along the way".

Ha.

It's like cuckchan!

I LOVE MY NEW WEBSITE

how lazy are you that you cant archive it yourself nigger?

Quality work there people.

He is talking about direct linking you nigger

How HIV positive are you to accept direct links to reddit?
Reported.

Gib sauce

pffffffffffffffffft

Here you go user.

Stuff isn't transferable so there's no way for it to explode like Valve's shit. The loot pool isn't even interesting enough to make it worth it for streamers/jewtubers to do cancerous unboxing videos. There are less than ten items worth caring about (there's two sparrows that are actually kind of cool, a few exotic weapon skins, and the rest is an endless stream of copies of the same shitty ghost shells and shaders–some pieces of the armor sets look okay but are stuck with the worst stat profile in the game)

WHERE IS THE SZECHUAN SAUCE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

ebin

...

I aim to please

...

Come on, you're joking right? No way someone actually thought that would sound good.

I'm pretty sure that was just for the first game alone.

you should care. enjoy it.

works for one piece.

And here I am still playing Angband after 20 odd years with not a care in the world.

archive.is/tR90l

What? I thought the guy behind explicitely said that wasnt going to be the case and there will 100% be a treasure at the end.

Honest to god if that's gonna be the case with One Piece i'm gonna fucking flip

That's some of the gayest shit I've read in a while, and I just got done browsing /wooo/.

At this moment user discovered he was a goy and the asian jew had bamboozled him.

Boy howdy is the end game unfun for this fucking game. Collecting the same slightly different variants of guns and armor over and over again praying for a slightly higher number is so boring. Adding insult to injury, the only items to break the formula are exotics and the depth of this game is about kitty pool deep, so they only do so by making your cool downs slightly lower or some other forgettable effect. What a complete disappointment.

...

...

Brilliant, and its not on Steam and exclusive sto Blizzcucks client so its going to burn and die.

Nigger how did you not see this coming after all the nickel and dime bullshit that they put you through with Destiny? How did you think for a second that the sequel would be in any way better?

YEAR OF THE FLOPS
YEAR OF THE FLOPS
YEAR OF THE FLOPS

This game really is just like Watch Underscore Dogs in that people only gave a shit about the first one because it beat it's competition, or rather closest comparison, to the punch in getting on 8th gen console but the sequel came out after the other game people actually cared about so everyone dropped it.

Boy howdy, ever considered suicide?

The answer is really simple: I never played destiny one and was pressured into purchasing this game by friends. At this point, in glad I have my exhausting workload to blame for an excuse not to waste my time playing that abomination anymore. What's amazing is that all my friends extensively played destiny one and still thought this game was so fun they continue to dump all their time into it.

Pretty much, look at the Switch and everytime the PissPoor or the Xbone get anything even resembling an exclusive.

You need to get new friends user. Your current friends are fucking retards.

Congrats, you just did exactly what my casual normalfag cousin did by buing an Xbone and Tom Clancy Wildlands.
Why are you here again?

People gave a shit about the first one because of all the hype - remember that bullshit E3 presentation?
It was one of the first 8th gen game after all. The hype was ultimately its undoing too.

Nah, they're good people, but their taste in video games is absolute shit. Would it surprise you to find out that overwatch is what ate up a majority of their time before this? I think not.

Ye

I own an 8th generation console due to receiving it as a gift. Now that everyone knows I have one, I'm always hassled to play shitty games with people from my hometown. I really don't get to talk with them much, so I guess it's not the worst thing.

How?

My friends already got bored of it, to the point where we only log on once a week to do the raid. They've moved on to Fortnite, and I find that game's PvP to be even less fun. I'm trying to get them on Terraria and EDF4.1, but I've been unsuccessful so far.
Make a gimmick loadout and exclusively use that. My friends don't ask me to join them unless they have to, because I refuse to play PvP and I only go Dawnblade + Wings of Sacred Dawn, which is fun but isn't meta.

It wasn't just hype
They wasted more on the marketing of the game than on the game itself.

Jesus fuck lad get better friends, I can understand a shitty coop game once or twice, but constantly playing garbage?
I'd rather not play with them at all and just giving them a group call or a text.

No, no. They're shit people. You haven't actually met good people user. You've just met some people.

I thought this newfaggotry would end after summer.

tl;dr of modern AAA games

I don't really find the game fun anymore, no matter what build I use. Crucible is alright I guess. But then I mainly just like control point. I don't really think I'll log in again except maybe to do the raid if the mood strikes me.

I don't play constantly though. They, however, do.

Newfags trying to act like oldfags are the cringiest thing on this website, please stop

Hey, OP. Maybe you should stay there. Don't worry, you don't need to tell us about this. Just stay with your friends on reddit, alright? Thanks.

That's just newfaggotry then. I don't see how your post is relevant.

I gotchu fam

refresh OP

meh, i only care about the Megablocks figures

I too enjoy missing everything, and having to hit a basic enemy in the head 55 times to kill him in the early game. Even worse when playing co-op because they scale up even more.

...

I wonder if they'll have time to explain why the playerbase is dead?
I bet that the community manager will answer the criticisms from the community with a passive-agressive message like the other day.

Is that cunt wearing problem glasses their community manager?

Reminder that bungie is where a lot of failed SJW devs ran off to.

Hope

No, the CM is either Luke Smith (a fat bearded guy) or Deej. I saw a video the other day about Destiny fans compaining about the lack of endgame in Destiny 2. After a bunch of days, the CM decided to publish a letter saying that the endgame isn't important as long as you make new friends.
I've heard that everything has been dumbed down, the raids don't matter anymore because there's no loot, only tokens to exchange later for a chance to get something. The whole PvE system got fucked because Bungo wants the competitive crowd.
Apparently Bungo fucked up the lore, some youtubers said that the last Destiny 1 DLC wasn't acknowledged into the story. There's a theory saying that the DLC wasn't meant to be in D1 but in D2.
The whole behind the scenes stuff is more interesting than the game tbh.

I never gave a single fuck about Destiny since it looked like trash. I'm amazed Bungie somehow managed to make the sequel even worse. It's kind of pathetic that the incompetent hacks making Warframe can do more and better than Bungie and their $500 million budget.

cringe

maybe its a low-key (((you))) with an extra (). maybe they are trying to dogwh… HAHAHA I can't even get through it.

The raid does drop loot. It doesn't matter because the raid armor is mechanically identical to sets you get from much easier content and it's possible to get to the light level cap without touching the raid at all. The only thing worth doing the raid for is the rocket launcher (though you can get one that's almost as good from strike tokens) and maybe the exotic shotgun.

I added the (), here's the original.

It sounds like they've noticed the low number of people who completed the first D1 raid (on Xbox it's around 19%).
sorry for the screencap in french, I couldn't find an english version

I legitimately can't tell if this next level corporate trolling at this point. I want to believe he said this with the intention of pissing off everyone even more but I just don't know.

Who cares, Bungie hasn't released a good game since Oni.

One piece hasn't ended so this isn't true.
Yet

The treasure was worth a lot when it was hidden, but it is now worthless, like the aluminum on top of the Washington monument

How many whales would it take to hold up the game?

...

Dubs thread

I like how this faggot is acting like losing the equivalent of the entire population of Northern Ireland in four weeks is somehow a normal thing.

Solution to that is to structure the content to make it easier to schedule (not easier to beat, mind you, just easier to get six people together to attempt part of it), rather than make it irrelevant. Leviathan should have been four short raids (with the Calus fight unlocking permanently after you've beaten the other three), not one raid with four encounters. I did King's Fall in D1 several times and it was actually fun, but trying to put together a group of six to run the whole thing in a week via LFG sites was a completely unnecessary annoyance.
Bungie needs to understand that you can make a game that can be played casually without needing to dumb down the actual mechanics. Right now they've plainly tried to make D2 even more "casual" than D1 (light level increases are limited per week once you hit 265, character builds and gear are greatly simplified), but haven't touched the shit that actually puts off people who play casually. You end up with the worst of both worlds.

They've already gotten their money, micro-transactions are just added shekels.

I just bought a copy of Oni for the PS2 a few weeks ago. Haven't gotten around to playing it yet though.

Hey, does anybody have that Destiny porn comic?
You know the one.

I didn't like Oni on the PS2, it really benefits from the precision of mouse aiming. Besides, the PC version has mods.

The read like Reddit cancer. Fucking Reddit.

It's not even that running the raids are hard, once you understand them. You pinned down the most difficult part in your post: having to go outside the game to find people to do shit with.

For the whole of D1's existence, if you wanted to do raids or Trials (or nightfalls if you couldn't solo them), you had to go to an external LFG site and find groups there, then hope that you got with one that knew what they were doing, though later on you could inspect players' stats and see how many times they'd completed activities. It wasn't ideal but it worked. Over and over again, players kept suggesting to Bungie to put the same kind of system in-game. I mean, it would be nothing more than a list of groups and players, how hard could that possibly be? Even something as simple as just being able to set a flag on your profile saying what you're looking to do at that particular moment so your friends, clan, and people in the Tower could see at a glance if you're up for something.

Then D2 comes around and nope, go fuck yourself. Better hope your clan's got people that will stay active forever because guided games suck ass. After spending 20 minutes in a queue for a nightfall, or an hour for a raid, all the while being unable to do anything else whatsoever, you get no way to vet who you're matched up with apart from a vague score. And if it falls apart, congrats, you wasted an assload of time for nothing.

Three years of development and they still can't implement the simplest solution.

Hahaha holy fuck

what game is this

Looks like Exanima to me

I really only got it for collection purposes. If I like it, or see promise in the title, I might consider getting the PC version then.

I've never heard of this (namely because it was released the year I was born). Thanks for letting me know about it.

Wew lad, consider actually visiting a roguelike thread if you like angband.

We need a list of all the failures this year.

It's kind of sad Oni is the best GitS game we're ever going to get.

Right now I can come up with
What else is there?

Yooka Laylee

SF5 and Battleborn were last year.

can anyone give me 5 solid points why D2 is bad? I'm not doubting it's bad. I've sadly clocked in many hours that I will never get back. Beat the story, the raid(twice), and reached light level 303.
But I have friends who are delusional and just spend ALLLL DAYY playing this game, rerunning the raid multiple times on multiple characters for no reason.
I would just like to hear 5 solid points that I can bring up to them. I would do it myself but I'm terrible at articulating my thoughts and opinions on this game.

Fuck man, everytime someone brings up D2 all that comes to mind is pic related.

If they're playing it all day they won't give a shit how many points you give them, they'll just get mad at you for bitching about the game and go back to playing it.

Remember when a game sold a million copies or more it was considered a smashing success?

Remember when gas was 99 cents?

Too bad suits think infinite growth is a thing, just water the game down and market more to get more people. After all 50% of the gamers are girls :^)

He's talking about you you mongrel

Pepperidge Farm remembers

And in the medical world it's considered one of the worst diseases.

I'm sure you can find five talking points in this video.
And apparently the PvP balance is fucked, but I don't know enough about it to say exactly what. Another user posted about people banding together in roaming deathballs spraying handcannons everywhere, which seems hilariously awful.

If Marvelous Entertainment's data is right all you need to get that market share is anime tiddies:
gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-10-09-selling-the-sexualised-senran-kagura-to-the-west

It's more cinematic that way.
You don't need a story in a shooter game!!
Dude just like grind for a better gun, like wtf is your problem.

This has been a normalfag response scenario. This is your reminder to always let normalfags wallow in their own shit.

1. Class talents are poorly designed. Right now there are several subclasses that are better off not unlocking all their talents (six-shot golden gun is the clearest example)
2. Gear is bland. All legendary armor is one of three stat profiles. The mod system is supposed to fix this, but in practice is just a glimmer sink as you chase the few mods that are actually good beyond the +5 power. Exotics are bizarre–a few are good, genuinely game-changing items (Wardcliff Coil, Sunshot Actium War Rig, Raiden Flux), but a lot of them are bland cooldown reducers, and some of them are just trash (ljl Mechaneer's Tricksleeves). Many of the returning exotics from D1 have been neutered: Young Ahamkara's Spine no longer gives a second tripmine, and with D2's weaker grenades what little it does is worthless.
3. Crucible modes are garbage. Every goddamn mode is just team deathmatch with some minor gimmick, except for countdown.
4. Very little new worldbuilding. People complained about the grimoire in D1 not being in the actual game, and Bungie took this to mean that they wanted it removed entirely. It's replaced with scannable items, but most of them don't provide any new information–they're just cues for Ghost to say "Hey, remember this thing from D1?"
5. Endgame content is sparse and poorly structured. There is no reason to do strikes other than the Nightfall. Public events give better rewards. Raiding involves a large time investment, especially if you don't have an established group, for little meaningful reward.

That number might be right, but it's driven by Japan. There's no way it's even 10% in the west.

How can you step back when you don't even have any feet? Destiny was and still ismega garbage.

Oh, and they call the Red Legion soldiers legionaries instead of legionnaires, which is 0/10 unplayable.

If that user wants to beat his head against a brick wall, who am I to stop him?

Thanks for the points but as another user has said, I may as well be hitting my head against a wall.

There goes any profit they might've gotten from Overwatch
KEK

also
Every rocket launcher take half of the screen.

A taunt lets you glitch through walls, so let's let people who already have it keep it. Meanwhile a pair of gauntlets were outright removed because they're green and have Ks on them. It's a simple retexture job but they were so triggered they outright purged them.
Pulse grenades are broken as fuck right now and do way too much damage but they nerfed the Wardcliff Coil because it lets you do too much damage in one point of the raid.
Nightfalls are always timed. This is because one exotic pistol, the Rat King, requires you to beat one with 5 minutes remaining to unlock it.
If you're doing the Exodus Crash nightfall, which is the one this week, good luck fighting the boss. It turns invisible and fucks off constantly, and it can stall you into a loss in the nightfall.
The Hunter is the rogue of the game, but is slower, does less damage, can't get any recovery and only one of the 3 subclasses actually applies debuffs.
Some enemies can teleport. They have no cooldown. Fallen Captains use this to run away constantly.
2 of the 3 Hunter subclasses get alternate throwing weapons. Gunslinger gets a throwing knife and Nightstalker gets a smoke bomb. These are bound to your melee button. If you try and melee an enemy that's out your range you'll waste your knife. If you try and throw a smoke bomb down but there's something in front of you you'll lunge and stab instead.
Hunter gets an exotic (Mechaneer's Tricksleeves) that lets you whip out and reload pistols faster. They already get whipped out and reloaded faster than other weapons anyway, so it's kinda pointless. They also get one (Lucky Pants) that lets you whip out handcannons faster. You'd think they'd combine these into one armour piece but apparently not.
Savathun's Song sometimes doesn't spawn. This is a boss fight at the end of the second worst strike/nightfall. Have fun wasting your time.
Shadowshot is a neat super. It nails enemies to the spot and takes away their super. At least that's what it's supposed to do but in PvP it takes a while to affect enemies. They'll usually kill you before you suppress them.
The Pleasure Gardens is full of this. Dogs start running when they shouldn't. Dogs see people they shouldn't. One starts in the fucking safe room, and sometimes just turns around and wastes your buff phase.
Titan has an exotic pair of gauntlets (Feedback whatever) that power up as you punch things, and then when an enemy hits you they get blasted by the built up energy. In theory that's pretty cool. In practice it'll make the weakest enemies flinch a bit.
In Destiny 1 if you look down your sights you can't see your radar. One of the common weapons was the MIDA Multitool, a scout rifle which gave you your radar when looking down sights. In Destiny 2 you don't get your radar back for a few seconds after ADS, so everyone flocked to the MIDA Multitool.
Since everyone has the MIDA, confrontations are mostly long range. Sidearms and SMGs require you to be up in they aren't as useful.
But what if you want the goodness of long range on a weapon that does damage at close range too? Look no further than the Uriel's Gift, an assault rifle that's more accurate than the MIDA while doing more damage at close range. MIDA + Uriel's is a very common pairing.
People die in 4 MIDA bodyshots or 2 MIDA headshots. Having a teammate shoot them while you do massively reduces the enemy's chance to react. The result is people roving around in bands of 4, sniping the fuck out of everything.

If you really want to play other games with your friends, insist on playing Trials with them until they give up. That's where the MLG pro wallglitchers are. Harvest the salt and direct them to a different game once they get pissed off.

Exotic: Weapons or armour with neat properties. You can only have 1 exotic weapon and armour piece at the same time.
Raid: 3 small challenges and a boss fight. Takes 6 people and you need to communicate. Actually fun if you have people to talk to.
Strike: 3 people do a mission involving running and shooting, and then fighting a boss. Strikes are chosen randomly
Nightfall: A strike but it's got extra modifiers. You get better loot. Nightfalls are chosen per week
Scout rifle: A sniper rifle but not as hard hitting
The Wardcliff Coil: A rocket launcher that fires a barrage of tiny rockets that mostly miss whatever you were aiming at. It's a meme weapon but it's fun.
Pleasure Gardens: Part of the raid. Sneak around invincible, deaf wolves, collect a buff to hurt them and do as much damage as you can. You get 3 chances to kill 6 dogs. It's shit.

Would it surprise you or anyone that I once had a response to an argument with a friend regarding overhyped games like this, giving out similar points, and one of their responses was "Dude hype is half the fun of the game. Why shouldn't I be hyped? Everyone is hyped for this except you"

And respect for said friend dropped like a piano in a cartoon.

I'd believe it, but that's still pretty bad
Seems like a normalfag to me

This guy makes fun of the idea of Santa, I take it?

I initially had that problem with Titanfall 2, but at least you can adjust the FoV in that game. Is the PC port for D2 out yet or are we still waiting?

Boy, I sure do love shitty stealth sections in games with no stealth mechanics.

...

The game is done on PC, if the beta is any indication. I played the beta on PC, and looking at the game on consoles, it looks pretty much identical. Bungie could export the changes (if any) to PC very quickly, and might do so soon if the players keep dropping

It's coming out next week I think. Huge mistake from them tbh, way too late.

my one friend wanted it strictly because he couldn't play the first one on PC

If we're talking about a game that isn't World of Warcraft (which was the exception, rather than the rule) this is consistent with MMOs. The Old Republic has a small player base.

I'm not saying Destiny 2 is a good game, but it's not the 'epic fail' that this implies. This is fairly standard, and to expect the game to do WoW Peak numbers was silly cause Destiny 1 had a lower player base anyway.

No way they said that.

The world has truly gone mad.

Yes, you're right, we should all be contrarian and sensationalize and look like ignoramuses at all times.

Why is such talent wasted on not only a shit-tier waifu game, but on arguably the worst waifu in the game?

That is actual CP. Destiny shills in overdrive trying to SHUT IT DOWN.

>unironically considering yourself a (((moderate)))
lel

I haven't got any, I just saw that in a thread once upon a time. The only site I browse is Holla Forums, so if it ain't posted here, I don't know what it is or where it's from, and that's completely fine with me.

No.

Unironically kill yourself. Preferably right now.

...

Very nice. Here, take this my fellow centrist.

Nice way to skew the facts there, bud. By your logic, if I go with your wrong way of thinking and believe that a game is a critical failure because it does the same numbers as other MMOs, then I'm a-okay. But if I point out that MMOs as a genre are declining and they don't do good business, and even WoW has less than a million players, I'm a piece of shit who should kill themselves. I'm sorry that you are incapable of handling differing viewpoints.

I'm not a centrist, I'm just not stupid enough to blindly believe the hive mind's cries of victory over nothing.

Time to abandon thread

Yep, it's done. I pity anyone who stays to argue with le based moderate reddit man

Christ dude, get your life together.

wtf!? I love destiny 2 now!?!

The fact you're so accustomed to using the incorrect plural for unspecified people in conversations as opposed to the grammatically correct male pronouns to the point you refer to yourself as multiple people indicates yes, you are.

...

...

How fucking stupid can they be. No one plays games like this to make friends. They want to rush to the end of the level, get the loot, then AFK in the social area.

In that sense the statement is true then, because there is no real loot.

But why would they want to go to an empty place?

More reasons why this game failed and is going to die.

I mean sure, but at the end of the day, the fact of the matter is MMOs as a genre are a failed experiment. They worked for a while, but the best example of the genre (financially best, that is) is now on its way out too. Playing MMOs is now being perceived as the same as being addicted to meth, and so a lot of players are avoiding them at all costs. Microtransactions and gacha shit only compounds the problem.

The genre is dying the same way that certain other genres should have died, but keep getting resurrected by hipsters who think they know the magic formula to save said genres.

Oh I agree. But Destiny killed itself even faster with an utter lack of in game loot and adding loot crates to the game. Well, on top of the fact it's the same fucking game all over again.

...

Why would you do such a thing to yourself?

Nigger, you just suck.

I have to for the closure.

Destiny is to Halo/Marathon what emoji Shakespeare is to 16th century literature.

I know that but my heart will not accept it until I can see it for myself.

...

Here's why.

Overall it fixes a lot of what was wrong with Destiny, but then takes a massive step back in so many regards like

The change from sister to cousin always gets me.

reading the leaked story details is the most depressing thing about Destiny 1.

Tell me more if you don't mind.
I still to this day haven't looked into the game's story beyond general hearsay and would love to hear more about an alpha versions gameplay.

…but let's get autistic about it. let's go out in public and bring shame to our families.

I don't remember many story or mission details. It was more linear like Halo but did have kind of hub worlds like the release version where you would encounter other players or play along with them. I remember the last mission was like Halo games where it was a frantic race against the clock to get somewhere. It was pretty fun.

It had similar mission structure and tone to ODST & Reach. I remember some of the story was meeting people trying to save the world and then seeking out people who knew about the ancient technology you were after. I've never looked at the leaked details, though.

Indeed, his mistake was posting on this board.

It's an archived Reddit post, so I thought it was safe. I'll remember to archive in the future.

Y-you too

Why are we archiving Reddit links now? Is there some link referral bullshit I never heard or something?

...

If you direct link reddit they can see where you are coming from, do I need to elaborate further?

Original post is archived by Reddit itself. As far as I know no, but it's much easier to just archive than to deal with people being butthurt over you not archiving.

Although Reddit is infamous for removing and editing posts, so it is a good idea if you are referencing it.

Out of habit I guess.

Technically the game hasn't released on PC so this number pertains only to consoles.

ibh I wish someone would make something modern along those lines.

Like Neverwinter Nights, Temple of Elemental Evil, or a good version of Sword Coast Legends.

Not a ARPG, an actual RPG RPG

You know they'd come up with some bulllshit like this.

Mass effect Andromeda, so bad ea killed the dlc

I can probably give you a few, although this is a mostly a blogpost.
Arguably the most damning part about D2 is the incredible lack of an endgame in what was originally pitched as a MMOFPSRPG chimera clusterfuck.

Whoever is stupid enough to actually play D2 consistently at this point (or at all) has almost every single acquirable weapon in the game, and with no challenging activities, no books to complete, no way to separate the wheat from the chaff of the playerbase, no currencies, no upgrading, no sandbox updates, no private matches, no LEADERBOARDS OR RANKING SYSTEMS, the entire hardcore/midcore "community" completely dissolved a month in once they realized they completed the ENTIRE game and got fucking duped. People feel betrayed by a almost silent dev team for giving them a GARBAGE game (Destiny 1) and over three years, transforming it into something halfway decent and playable on consoles. Then Destiny 2 throws away almost everything that made Destiny 1 appealing to anyone who actually stuck around for three years to see the game improve, and now the general sentiment is that they are going to have to wait another year or two AGAIN to get a decent game. On the flipside, because you advance through the content so quickly, casual players are able to level quickly, progress quickly, and drop the game for whatever is next while feeling good about the purchase, at the expense of players who are looking for a more in-depth experience, since they will have nothing left for them after the first 60-70 hours. It's ironic, because this has been happening to games for the last decade, and only now people are starting to complain when it happens to their AAA Activision FPS.

A casual audience gets abandoned for an even more casual audience, it's like poetry.

1. You are not rewarded for your time. Raiding and Trials of the Nine is pointless because the gear inside of those activites do not give you an incentive such as exclusive perks, ornaments, or even a checklist to complete. Why anyone would continue doing them is inane from a productivity standpoint. This also includes Milestones, since the gear acquired from them will inevitably be gear you already own, leading to an Acquire>Dismantle>Turn in>Dismantle>Turn in>Dismantle daily grind, which does nothing for you character in the slightest, except waste your time.

2. PvP is destroyed. You are stuck with terrible spawn rates, unrewarding drops, and MIDA/Last Hope or Antiope/Uriel builds that excel and reward long range, lane scoping, and turtling and punish anyone who plays in the air, or pushes the team. There are no movement options or build diversity. You can no longer be a hero and save your team from a loss, you are instead going to suffer with them as your game extends into 85-17 for ten minutes. In D1, even losing games could be fun because the actual pacing was so fast. Every game in D2 is torture if you're losing, and boring if you're winning.

3. Weapons are terrible outside a few OUTSTANDING exceptions. You're looking at maybe a 10% usage rate across all playscapes. Why would you grind for "Faster reload when crouched" or "Has a chance to put ammo in the magazine when critically wounded" when the game outright GIVES you Explosive Rounds, Damage Up after enemy kill, and other weapons that actually might excite you?

4. Ties with 1, but again, there's no real reason to continue playing since the content is no longer interesting or fun. Everything is known. I don't think you're intended to keep playing either, since the game is so shallow. What exactly are they doing to advance their inventory or skills? The game is designed to be beaten quickly and dropped until next expansion. Content drips. If you've been in a desert for a year, you will drink through the worlds smallest straws. It was designed for 8/10 and up Day 1 reviews, day 1 sales and forget the rest until the expansions.

5. No one should ever purchase or even play a persistent, always online game that has POTENTIAL to be good. Destiny has been doing this since the Closed Alpha. There is POTENTIAL for a compelling world and gameplay experience. There is POTENTIAL for chaotic, intense, and focused PvE and PvP playscapes. There is POTENTIAL for a serious endgame that rewards players who dedicate their time. The casuals are there, and yet still the development staff somehow failed to appease even them. D1 failed in a lot of ways, but it at least attempted to meet it's ideal. D2 doesn't even try. It's just bland and uninteresting. Maybe it's the hindisight and no

Keep in mind, if people are playing any game with their friends, that makes almost everything anyone says, positive or negative, invalid, since they are playing it for FRIENDS. Not because it's GOOD. That overrides everything.
At the end of the day, Fun things are fun.

I am a dumbass. Please kill me anytime.

No really though sauce would be nice. NAO's got nothing.

I know nobody cares because everyone would rather be angry than fact check, but both of these statements are lies.

The silly walk emote is still available, just randomly acquirable from bright engrams (loot boxes). The vendor that sells them for actual money has a selection of cosmetic items for sale that rotates weekly. Last week the silly walk was sold, this week it's not. It's just random.

And the "friendgame" shit was all blown out of proportion. The community manager who posts the weekly updates added that as an aside, a touchy-feely way to wrap up that week's update, and a bunch of morons took that to mean that Bungie as a whole considers making friends the endgame, and not actual activities in the game. He had to clarify this obvious fact an hour or two later but by then people had already angrily posted about it a million times. Kind of like what's happening here, to be honest.

The game has problems, for sure, and many of them have been outlined in this thread alone (>>13601291 sums up a lot of my gripes, to which I would add the stupidity of consolidating all PVP into two playlists and the unrewarding nature of strikes). But nobody is well-served by repeating lies or half-truths.

Honestly, the most aggravating thing is that this feels like a sequel to D1's base game, and not D1 plus its expansions. By the time RoI came around, the game had been improved with tons of extra content and features, and many quality-of-life updates that made for a marked improvement over where they launched at. But that's where D2 should be starting from, not from 2014.

Since they are killing D1 I don't see why they can't just give you the original's content plus the new shit in the new game. I could have sworn that they had planned on having like a 10 year plan with the original or some shit.

The statement was "Destiny is a 10-year plan" or something similarly vague.

The silly walk was available at the start of last week. Halfway through it disappeared and there was a blank spot in Eververse's inventory, but the other items were the same.
The friendgame shit was blown out of proportion because it was delivered at a bad time. People were asking for a proper endgame, and the friendgame was seen as a response to that. Saying something like that would have been more fitting for the end of D1.

I'm hoping that they eventually add enough content to surpass D1. Right now all the people I play with moved on to Fortnite, and the only reason I have to log on is to grind strikes to git gud with Dawnblade.

PC pre-orders are mostly Blizzdrones who used their WoW gold to buy the game, doesn't help when people saw how shit the game is for consoles and how they capitulated to a bunch of Jews in the ADL with that shit Kekistan gear removal.

oneangrygamer.net/2017/09/bungie-removing-kekistan-imagery-from-destiny-2-calls-it-hate-symbol/39365/

Same reason why I played dragon age inquisition, shitting on the downfall of a studio you liked is hollow until you actually played the damn thing and experienced the full reality of it. Those kind of threads are full of people who parrot misconceptions that either make the game look worse than it actually is, or actually miss on the actual worst aspects of it.

thats almost exactly the same way the Division went.

Once you cleared the single player content, casuals felt like they got their moneys worth and left.

That's all it was about, getting initial purchases before anyone invested figures out the game goes nowhere.

It's probably considered standard AAA practice now.

user, hate to break this to you, but chances are Activision's bottomline isn't going to be affected by this. As the player's who don't leave after this big drop-off are likely whales who'll buy any and everything.

When did this meme of getting triggered by people starting their stories with
start? Because it's pretty fucking gay.

To be fair it isn't hard to make gold in WoW, I probably have a few characters at the old gold cap pre legion.

How does WoW gold translate to profit for Bungie though? or is this just a pyramid scheme to launder money.

Hell if I know man I just know you can melt down gold in wow for Blizzbucks which is less profitable than gold selling. At the end of the day Activision owns both companies.

And the money cycles towards Acti-kikes' hands.

My guess is that it's a way to keep WoW on life support.

Money laundering seems more likely though.

Can you pay cash for blizzbucks? Because if you can't it factually cannot be money laundering.

you pay cash for tokens, which can be traded for gold or blizzbucks.

I used to make $50+ blizzbucks a month just trading tokens for wow gold.

By cash I mean the actual definition of cash, not credit card. You know, bills and coins.

This image reminded me of this gem. Beyond parody

I used to love pop-tarts until I looked at the back of the box and saw how unhealthy they were.
I could have a stack of pancakes dusted in sugar with a side of French toast for how many calories are in a packet of strawberry pop-tarts.

Stop eating entire boxes of pop-tarts, then, fatty

I said a packet, not the whole box.

While you're at it, add it to the fucking filter already. Fuck christ, jesus shit this thread is full of pure cancer.

Lets see packet of poptarts is 400 calories, a single pancake is about 170 calories, make that a stack which is 3 to 4 and a piece of french toast which is about 150 calories. Lookin to be about 660 to 830 calories without adding in the sugar which adds a minimal amount. Either way shit don't add up friendo.

I could forgive them for that considering that the first game probably still had some limitations in it from having to be built for last-gen consoles. But apparently the D2 team had a major lack of communication with the live team, because they brought some good things over but also some things that had already been fixed, and then some other things that are stupid.

I know Bungie likes secrecy, but they really should do open beta testing of their shit. Catching the bugs, getting feedback on their retarded decisions, and producing a better product overall is much better than keeping everything shrouded in mystery. I mean, seriously, the whole shader debacle came up because there was literally no indication of the one-time use change before the game launched. Would it not have been easier to talk about this shit months ago when there was still time to revert it?

I don't remember exactly when I bought it, but I know I picked it up while it was for sale because of course I'm going to buy the silly walk emote. If they did remove it I didn't notice, mostly because I stopped paying attention to the inventory after I bought what I wanted for the week. I didn't even learn about the exploit until after the reset (and used it a couple times to explore hidden parts of the Tower, just for shits and gigs), so I just assumed people got confused due to the shop changing inventory anyway. I must have been mistaken, so that's my bad. It's still listed as one of the possible rewards in the engrams, so it's still "available," sort of.

Tokens can be bought for real-life cash or in-game gold. If you buy one for cash ($20), you can put it on the auction house and get a guaranteed amount of gold for it based on current supply and demand. The person who buys it for gold from the AH can then convert it into a month's subscription or for $15 for their Battle.net balance, which can then be used to either buy games straight-up (like D2) or purchase microtransactions for any of their games.

ActiBlizz profits because people are putting money into the system either way. They actually end up making more money since players are spending $20 for something worth $15. And it puts a dent in the gold selling market by providing a non-bannable way to purchase gold from other players, as well as putting a limit on the gold-to-dollars ratio (why spend $20 for 100k gold when you could buy a token and sell it for 170k without risking a ban?).

This is also why I laugh when people say they're "gaming the system" or "cheating Blizzard out of money" by using WoW gold to buy tokens. Every token you buy for gold was purchased for real money by someone else. In fact, by participating in the token system, you're actually making Blizzard more money. The only way to stop giving them money is to stop playing.

Polite sage for a double post.

This can't be real.

To the surprise of absolutely nobody.

Why would anyone eat something so vile and unhealthy?

Divinity Original Sin2

You're right, but to be fair pop tarts have shitty macros anyway.

THIS
Their money no longer comes from sales primarily. They'll milk a small percentage of faggots with DLC, microtransactions, half-assed expansions that include more of those, Season passes that don't include every released in the season, gambling loot boxes, and more. They'll end up with decent to good profit margins.

Were you the user who streamed it? Those stream memories still warm the cockles of my heart.

That's how many businessmen operate:
It works "fine" for bureaucracies where the only things that change are the company letterhead, but for more involved products like video games and their servers, bad word of mouth can poison a series more easily than in other media. Can't tell why that is, but it just is, so trying to apply the traditional business model to selling video games is an awful idea. As the Russians say, "if you add milk to vodka you make everyone angry."

i've actually heard people say its alot better than the first destiny and fixed a ton of the problems.
still looks like trash to me

The players are there on the disc. They're just locked until gold quarter. Bungie will need to pay $49.99 to unlock them.

because who else would you be

t.every dev in 2017

Have you tried Underrail? It's actually pretty good.

isnt that directly from reddit? its fucking "le" tier faggotry.

Nah I don't stream anything.

Did he really say that?

That's the good stuff user. Good good part is that there are plenty of scenarios to play. Rubicon X is fucking great so great that I can consider it to be the fourth chapter.

So i was trying to google for the phrase "The real loot is the friends you find along the way" to find a source but i found this website that is…. mirroring this thread what the fuck is this?

hollaforums.com/thread/13597819/video-games/and-the-numbers-are-still-falling.html

The source is already here:

Not my point. Look at what I linked it's not perfect but it almost exactly the same as this thread

Hello newfriend. That site caches and mirrors 8ch in a different format in order to scam potential advertisers into buying adspace there. It's been around a while.

It's a fake forum that rips posts from here to make it look like it's busy. There was another called Leekyforums a while back.

...

to anybody who wants to get fit while still gaming, the trick is to go running in the morning that way you have the whole evening to play vidogames and second you can only have water besides you in the table, but drink it at every loading screen or anything that represents a short timeout, that way you won't be hungry, the last thing would be to learn to control your hunger because when you finish your gameplay you will hunger but remember that's only subconscious hunger, wait it out and it will disappear DO NOT drink water at this point as it will only turn your illusory hunger into real hungery

Got me, keep it 100.

It doesn't have a proper story. It's generally boring because it lacks direction. It's dropping you into the sewers and tells you to go to place x with pretty strong enemies for a weakling like you on the way. Then, when you get there, the enemies are even stronger like those robot drones with guns. It's also easily exploitable by "resetting" the game with the same character for cheap experience and free money which you'll need to do just about anything in the game, because your beginning equipment reeks. Underrail is not inherently bad, it's just gameplay decisions that were its downfall.

Shadow of War. hopefully.

SOMEONE GET HER A GUN SAFETY COURSE JESUS CHRIST

...

Then why not just fucking save my money and go outside to a fucking basketball court or something and socialize.

Why is he not hanging? Is Canada out of rope?

...

Canada is mostly mudslimes and chinks now user. I wish I was exaggerating.

...

Lol what a fag. Everyone point and laugh

They still live there though, right?
Do they love the idea of the person who controls their scrap of land telling the world how much he wishes they were nuked?
Well, I suppose mudslimes get off on getting exploded, but the chinks might have some concerns.

They don't care what happens to Canada because they are not Canadians. They can always go home if shit gets fucked up.

Maybe that's what needs to happen to immigration, then.
In order to apply for a work visa, you must first give up your citizenship and become a person without a nation. You can never go back, so you must either care about your destination or die.

What needs to happen to immigration is it needs to fucking stop completely. Of course that's not going to happen as long as people aren't willing to kill and die for it first.

Enough shitting up the thread for me though I'm going to go grill some pork ribs and potatoes.

...

Look how jaded everyone is in the middle and back, like they're all embarrassed. Even the niglet has a look of disgust.

"be me" is retarded on multiple levels
1. The first times it ever showed up on the internet at all, it was redditors from /r/greentext or something who literally screencapped our shit to repost there for gaylord points, and eventually ran out of good material to steal and started writing greentext stories on cuckchan and screencapping their own. You could easily identify them because they had no clue what made a funny story or how our syntax worked. "be me" was in most of them.
2. It's fucking retarded as a statement because you wouldn't be anyone else. "be 17" is acceptable because it provides context for the story. But we already know you are you, who the fuck else would be telling it? It's beyond moronic. Only redditors are capable of that idiocy.
3. Anyone who was ignorant of the origins and thought "be me" was just a meme and copied it to be part of the crowd is also a retard, because even if you don't know where it came from, it's still stupid as fuck due to point 2. And if you don't realize it's stupid as fuck, YOU'RE stupid as fuck. It used to be only memes that were genuinely funny or clever survived. This is neither. It's literally reddit-tier.

So no matter what, anyone starting a greentext story with "be me" should be reprimanded.

go back to reddit.

why is there so much reddit here? is it finally time i go to the next chan? AGAIN?

Going to shoot her cunt off.

That's because the camera lens is reflective.

This seems to be memoryholed but does anybody remember Destiny's '10 Year Plan'? That sure worked out well.

That was the stupidest fucking thing they did. From the beginning it was obvious it would never work out, yet they went ahead with it anyways.

i take it you stayed on cuckchan long after the 1st exodus?

Translations for those that care:

Complete a Raid

Complete a Raid with a team full of only clan mates

Complete a raid in Difficult mode

Complete a raid without anyone in your team dying

They also bragged about how you'd want to put it on your shelf next to LOTR.

That timeline is really nifty for showing exactly how much they had to scale back. No proper raid in HoW, hastily thrown together RoI instead of the vex, and it seems like "forge of gods" was used as the basis for D2 since that pretty much describes what the cabal plot was about. D2's first expansion is on Mercury, so that's probably what became of Vex Void.

Wasnt this that they got a 500 million budget for? Or were there any more planned cash injections during those 10 years?

top wew

Oh yeah, rick roll, numa-numa and peanut butter jelly time were the height of comedy. Memes are shit, you're shit and the fact you think memes have gotten worse on the whole means you're a dumb faggot.

Normalfag crash soon.

doggos is a reddit meme.

Pretty arrogant that they thought they could make a 10 year spanning franchise.

.Hack tried it and that was actually good.

What exactly do you consider to be the height of comedy user? Some sweaty NY kike telling fart jokes on stage or some Hollywood kike telling dick jokes on film? Just curious.

Bill Hicks.

If gamers would only listen.

Lately I've been realizing that Angband is the perfect computer RPG.

The battles are all pretty easy to cheese and that has been bothering me. But it has the best stealth of any isometric I've played. The crawling through vents and trap-setting and variety of special crossbow bolts and the crafting are all very fun. Builds matter and your complaint about getting owned by all the early enemies may come from making a bad build to start. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by it not having a story.

hear, hear

More like some asparagus and tri-tip

LOL!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I don't get it.

Because it's a fake picture. Though he should be hung for any number of other reasons. Oddly people would rather make up fake shit like the "if you kill your enemy they win" and discredit criticism of him even more.

Destiny has lost 78% of its userbase in 6 weeks. It took the worst selling Call of Duty 6 months to do the same.

Destiny 2 is dying faster than The Division or Battleborn. The only current gen games that died faster are No Mans Sky and Lawbreakers.

Acitivison is not happy with Bungie. Heads will roll.

Didn't even realize people asked for sauce. I believe the sauce is just that picture.
