Hey anons, i'm looking to play some adventure games. Any reccomendations? Already played Monkey Island and Sam & Max using ScummVM which were both pretty good. Preferably some ScummVM compatible titles.

Sanitarium

its prequel, maniac mansion is really good as well, but day of the tentacle is way better. Still worth playing if you wanna get some of the references.
my favorite series, not everyone likes it, but I fucking love it, especially the fourth one. first half of the first game is kind of boring, tbh.
The older Sierra titles are really worth playing as well, specially Space Quest.

That's some lovely sprite art

Pic related is a point and click adventure with a great story AND porn. What more could you ask for?

Torin's Passage
Primordia

The Gabriel Knight games are pretty entertaining. A bit bullshit in places but you already know what you're getting into, I assume.

Fate of Atlantis

Fuck off.

Let's go all out, King's Quest series.

Oh ho ho, going all in. I fold. This made me think of the Sam & Max games for some reason, they're pretty casual in comparison but take some weird logic in places.

If you feel wild go for simon the sorcerer tell us what you think of it, it's kind of a divisive game
Also beneath a steel sky, and most important of them all:
Indiana fucking jones and the motherfucking fate of fucking Atlantis is THE shit, play it now, and then 2 more times because it has a difficulty system built into the story were events and puzzles are changed slightly

THIS, Fate of Atlantis is one of the best ones with no bullshit.
If you want a cute simple one play Loom, albeit short it's also a must play imo.

...

Was this any good? I never got around to it.

all good recommendations so far
I'd like to add stuff from wadyet eye games. I love their blackwell series

Toonstruck is a game where Christopher Lloyd gets stuck in a cartoon world, with some adult humor thrown in here and there. Plenty of cartoon logic, which leads to some clever puzzles and some obtuse ones, and a handful which are just irredeemable bullshit, cartoon logic or otherwise. Even the good ol' "use everything on everything" might not work for one of them, unless you get it right away, particularly because the game goes out of your way to fool you into getting the wrong thing. Generally okay writing overall.
But the voice talent is great and the only reason I'd even consider recommending it. Lots of recognizable voices if you've watched animated shows from the 90s. Folks from Animaniacs and the likes. And the protagonist is a live-action Christopher Lloyd.
Doesn't really stand up without the voice acting, and it's the main reason to play it.

So if you want a game where Christopher Lloyd gets stuck in a cartoon world, consider Toonstruck.

Also, I'd consider a guide for three puzzles, one for which the clues don't eliminate all the wrong answers but leave the impression that they do, one for an "answer a bunch of questions correctly about lots of small details all over the game and the questions are randomized" affair, and the aforementioned thing about being led astray to get the wrong item. I could reveal more details about them so you'll know them when you see them, if so desired.
Because beyond those three puzzles, maybe four, it was pretty enjoyable.

Frasier Crane: Seattle Rampage:
It has no sound, but it's well written.
Camp 1:
A great game where you are in sci-fi setting Siberian gulag. There's some pixel hunting to do.
both of them are made with AGS

...

Muh nigga.

death gate
great writing and oldschool

This so much. Great game to play during fall season

That's not Quest for Glory. That's a parody game which, IIRC, made a bunch of the QFG community cucks supremely assblasted to the point where you weren't even allowed to discuss it on the official forums.

Actually… fuck, scratch that. It was a fan-site called Quest for More Glory which used to stealth edit and delete comments pertaining to the game, then eventually moved to outright banning if you even mentioned it. They eventually, begrudgingly, began to allow people to discuss it again - but only within it's specific containment thread. Mentions of it outside of the containment thread probably still get you banned.

Lori and Corey Cole hate it.

Gemini Rue and Captain Bravve

I was pretty amazed by how good it was. I played it alongside harvester and I was a lot more engrossed with it.

Frasier Crane point-n-click, eh?

...

Good list. I didn't play any of the Diskworld games though, so I'd swap out those with Simon the Sorcerer. Personal favorite Monkey Island game is 3, although it's better to play sequentialm anyway. Still busy with Deponia 3 atm, although I'm almost done. Haven't gotten 4 yet though. I hated Deponia at first, but now it's already in my list of all time favorites.

Only played GK1, and a bit of GK2. Loved the first one, great story. Couldn't really get into 2. but I liked Gray Matter, Jane Jensen's latest one a lot.

If you like horror/thrillers you should also take a look at the Black the door is locked Mirror series.

One of the Lucas Art greatest. I'd add Zak mcKraken too, good memories.

Ok, last but not least: The longest journey. I'll stop now, because I could go on for a while..

for what purpose

I realized the moment I fell into the fissure that the book would not be destroyed as I had planned. It continued falling into that starry expanse, of which I had only a fleeting glimpse. I have tried to speculate where it might have landed, but I must admit that such conjecture is futile. Still, questions about whose hands might one day hold my Myst book are unsettling to me. I know my apprehensions might never be allayed, and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written.

It clearly says Ron Gilbert there, Shitface was the one behind DotT, Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. Honestly I couldn't care less if he was involved as long as they are good games, and they are (except for FT)

Full Throttle is good, even though it's short.

short is an understatement

I thought Mobius: Empire Rising was her latest one? Haven't played it myself. I have it on my Steam wishlist, but it's really only there to remind me that it still exists. Haven't been able to work up the motivation to buy it - even on sale, so far. It just doesn't look good.

Yeah, you're right. I thought Gray Matter was the last one she wrote, but I missed this one. The rating isn't really promising, but maybe the story is good?

At least there's a free demo to check.
