Primrose's entire prologue has a seedy undertone to it. It was used very well (I don't know what is on about the script and VA being bad, they were great) and had its place. To remove them would be to remove much of what makes the game seem amazing. From what I know of the team, I don't think it's likely to happen.

I've now fully explored the demo and the styles only flaw is way too much bloom. Beyond that it feels like a SNES jrpg, and not like the many modern games that TRY and fail but this feels like FF6 or Breath of Fire 3 or any number of the mana games with a little Grandia thrown in.

Theres some Bravely Default too but it really highlights how all those shitty sprite recycling mobages do not get it. This -in particular the whore route- genuinely felt graphics aside like something from the golden age of jrpgs and its been maybe since the PS2 when i last felt like an ip could be another popular series like final fantasy or secret of mana.

So in short i like it, i like it a lot.

Primrose isn't naively, she's hardened and motivated by revenge. I don't think we can call her pure in the traditional sense.
She's got a heart of gold though, so I think her arc will be about getting to explore that again while out for revenge. I will be astonished if she's anything short of best girl in the full game, mind, her part was great.

It definitely needs some work still, but I love the premise. I'm sure later on there will be opportunities to increase the number of charged-up points, but right now there's no reason not to use one every turn (at least as Olberic, I haven't played Primrose yet). The early levels of JRPGs are always my favorite, just because the jumps in power per level are the greatest and it's decently easy to gain levels, but because this demo doesn't give you any new stuff at higher levels, it's hard to distinguish. Also someone needs to take the script to a chopping block. Too much dialogue that covers too little actual useful information.

Xenoblade Chronicles and Last Story. Arguably Xenoblade X but that was so deeply flawed that I don't think most would agree.

Primrose is better. Dancer is such an underused jrpg mage type.

Finished both paths so far and found all the secrets. This shit is something pretty special. Like the PS4 with Bloodborne its an exclusive that will lead to sour grapes i think.
