gameplay wise, it's very stock as fuck, it's also very in your face about it and the whole game is just a meta joke on the state of the vidya industry. the writing is very much zombie simpsons as well. if you want a good simpsons game, try hit and run

some ports of the game are different games lik the psp one, but you're better off playing hit and run.

Is this on PC?
Also I remember the DS version being fun

It's bland as fuck, constantly references and advertises other EA games, the writing is as unfunny as the cartoon's and for some random reason the final boss fight is a rythem game despite never being used at any point prior in the game.

If you really want to play a Simpson's game then take the advice of everyone else in the thread and play Simpson's Hit & Run, it's a vastly superior game.

There are loads of Simpson's games user. Krusty's Super Fun House, Bart's Nightmare, The Itchy and Scratchy Game, Hit and Run, the Simpson's arcade game, the list goes on.

The one in OP's pic is literally called The Simpson's Game, user.

I swore it was The Simpson's Movie Game or something like that.

nah it was the simpsons game

i fucking hated hit & run, it felt like a driving game with simpsons slaped on it and not the other way arround, whereas the arcade game is still one of the best brawlers of the genere

This. Gen6 faggots have the worst taste on this site.

I think Road Rage is overall better than Hit & Run. The novelty of being able to get out of the car like in GTA is fun and everything, but it's not as good at being that type of game, compared to Road Rage, which is an excellent Crazy Taxi clone, perhaps better than all the actual Crazy Taxi games.

Who are "gen6 faggots"? Anyone who likes games released during the sixth generation of consoles?
Oh so you are baiting, gotcha.

Better question: What's the best version of the Simpsons Hit and Run? I have the GameCube version.

yeah, we all know mount & blade and stalker fans have the worst taste.

If you grew up with the Simpsons you'll like the quotes.
It's pretty heavy on easter eggs and game quotes, some parts even mimick other game's gameplay.
Co-op can be fun, i played it with my sister so it was pretty appropriate.

Don't worry anons, highschool does eventually get easier.

general rule is that if it didn't come out first on PS2, then avoid the PS2 version. Otherwise you're good.

I tend to like all Simpsons games I have played because of my love for the Simpsons. Some may be bad fuck I loved them. Still hate NuSimpsons tho.

Boring and tedious as fuck compared to

The iPhone version of the Arcade was a fun time killer until it was killed by the tap and build horseshit.
WAY TO GO JEWS

The real appeal was being able to explore an accurate feeling representation of Springfield. The actual gameplay was kind of cookie cutter. Go fight the robot bees Homer, I guess.

I had a lot of fun with Road Rage. Never played actual Crazy Taxi. Maybe I should get on that.

I hope you like EA, because there is a shit ton of references to them in the game, like there's an entire level dedicated to saving 8-bit simpsons from fucking Will Wright.

Yeah, Hit and Run is only really good if you owned a Gamecube back in the day

The Xbox and Gamecube versions are fine, but the PC version also has shit like

Genwunners are the worst

Okay I know you're trying hard to look like an oldfag but jesus christ dude what are you smoking and where can I get some?
Simpsons Arcade was fucking awful, its only value is nostalgia value. It was on par with the shitty NES ports of arcade brawlers of the time. Very simplistic and cookie-cutter, short as fuck, and poorly balanced because the devs valued milking quarters a hell of a lot higher than making a good game. It was a shitty knockoff of the TMNT arcade game that came out two full years later.

PC is best version, XBOX is best console version. Gamecube has worse graphics and weird bugs, PS2 version has bad framerate.

You should, though you might want to make a songlist to listen to as the same 5 songs will loop nonstop. Other than that, be ready for Road Rage with more risk-reward depth of taking reckless driving for bonuses.

Hit and Run was a blast as a kid. It was comfy to drive past the Burns' Casino or visit the Kwik-e-Mart.
Playing it as an adult you realize how poor it really was. You quickly turn the audio down once you're sick of Lisa screaming "I NEED SPEED! MORE SPEED" and her two or three other unfunny lines every five seconds. Some missions are seemingly random difficulty-wise. You'll often find yourself quickly finishing with minutes left, or missing by five seconds. There are only three mission types.
1. Timed platform collectathon
2. Race
3. Chase
And the only differences are the time limit and type of car used.
There are some genuinely funny lines, mostly from side characters giving you missions, and the gameplay isn't always boring, but in general it's mediocre as fuck.

Yeah but they're good songs. The Offspring is awesome.

Road Rage is better largely because of the dialogue being better since it has tons and tons of characters, instead of only five.

If you try Hit and Run get the special launcher from donnutteam, it lets you add mods, widescreen and so on.

...

Okay I know I'm off topic, but what in the tapdancing christ was the deal with the dummy?

It's a metaphor. He made a fake, murderous persona to chase around so it's kind of like using a ventriloquist to "talk" without acting on your own I guess. The dummy he sees is the representation of this. It's been a long time since I played the game so I can't comment on what the dummy says but it's probably him trying to talk himself out of doing what he's doing through the lens of a one-on-one conversation or something. At least that's what I gathered from it. It's equally possible that it's merely abstraction just for the sake of getting people to talk about it, just like what Richard says to Evan in the hard mode intro.

So it's Drakengard?

That was pretty fun growing up

Possibly, it's also theorized that Richard represented the animalistic side of killing, and the dummy represented the more complex human minded part of killing
That's why Richard didn't understand Manny, because Manny killed and planned based on human mindgames and indirect vanity, whereas the rest of the characters killed either because they had to or wanted to because they were bloodthirsty.
This can also be seen as Manny didn't wear a animal mask, he didn't associate with a animal, rather a imitation human
