You'd be hard pressed to find one with a grim setting without heavy RPG aspects. There's SMT4 and 4A as well as Devil Survivor Overclocked but those are really heavy on the RPG side of things.

One of the SD cards must have some damage. Get an SD card checking program; they're a dime a dozen and all do the same thing.
Sounds to me like the 32GB SD card has a faulty sector that you're trying to write to, but that's from my limited experience with SD cards.

Out of all the models available to me the 2DS XL seems the most attractive because it's relatively cheap and has the second analog (monster hunter's important here). My question is, is the 2DS XL particularly hard to hack? I assume it will depend on the firmware it comes with, is there any guarantee that it is a hackable firmware?

There was a homebrew called Unbanmii, which was supposed to do it automatically, but it's considered malware because it steals 3ds internal data. It's possible someone made a non-virus version but I wouldn't trust them. You might as well use the convoluted method.

Each 3DS has it's own internal code that's used as an ID for Nintendo's service. Nintendo bans those IDs, not the whole console. You can use homebrew to extract a code from a 3DS, and use it in another.
Multiple people can use the same code at the same time, but if one gets banned they all get banned. Nintendo were banning publicly posted codes back when the banwave happened, but I think they stopped for now. If you can't "borrow" a code from a spare 3DS, the public ones are worth a try.

The code is called a localfriendcodeseed_B, if you want to do more research.

iirc the information it "stole" was the same information the people wanting to use it were trying to change to become unbanned, the info was supposed to be used to ban troublemakers but at the end it wasn't used for everything and the dev forgot to remove the lines from the code. As I understand the info it stole was worthless, it would only be worth selling if it was from an unbanned console, otherwise it's like buying blood from an aids ridden faggot.

I can't help you in the bat front as I don't use windows, but you can try and run the bat from cmd, you might be able to know where it stops(a bat is just a text file with a bunch of functions to execute) if you know in what command it stops you can try to fix it

First, the program I need to extract the data from the allbadge files I got (I downloaded them directly from Nintendo instead of a fucking retarded .bat file) requires boot9.bin and I don't have that because B9S is fucking pointless You would think godmode or something would be able to extract the data, but no information has been forthcoming. Secondly, I have an .exe file that's not a valid win32 application so even if I could extract the data it's fucking useless to me. The other user implied that he managed to do it without fucking around much, but if that user is you or you don't have any idea about badges then you're not being any help.

Listen up faggots, I'll explain this once and for all.

Whenever it is connected to the internet, your 3DS phones home with information such as its console ID, firmware version number, what software you are running and so on. This was proven by a wireshark intercept way during the May ban waves.
You can check if you are banned by attempting to access your friends list. Banned devices will be returned an error.

The ban waves are server-side blacklisting of a certain unique ID of your console. There's nothing you can do client side, I'm not even sure friend code seed transferral will work.

If your 3DS phones home while you're running freeshop, there is a chance you will get banned. The initial banwave abruptly started and stopped in May and targeted those running freeshop, but oddly didn't seem to affect anyone who ran freeshop before that time.

Solutions:
1) You will risk absolutely nothing if you install CIAs the old fashioned way. This method is inconvenient but guaranteed and safe.
2) Using Tubehax DNS or any other DNS which blocks nintendo IP address resolution will likely work so long as it is configured correctly. However, all it takes is for nintendo to release a firmware update which includes a new domain which points to their servers, which will bypass DNS blacklisting if the blacklist is not up to date. This is theory and spitballing but speaks true to the technology.

IDEALLY, SOMEONE WILL WRITE CODE TO PREVENT THE 3DS FROM PHONING HOME AND PREVENT THIS CLUSTERFUCK BUT UNTIL THEN, DON'T BE RETARDED

So I accidentally got all my hacked shit deleted from my Old 3DS. Tried to update Smash the normal way and it wiped it all off my home screen. My New 3DS was set up recently with Sound Hax. Nintendo did a banwave a while back. You're safe to play online for now, because if they do a banwave they probably have enough info to catch you already. Do what the pic says anyway just in case. There's no advantage to having it on, although it's hilarious to see people with their last game played being PKSM or Freeshop.
There's only been one proper banwave so far, excluding the early leak of Pokemon Moon that got people banned.
Personally I have 2 3DSs, one for playing legit and one hacked. That way I can fill Wonder Trade with Modest 3iv Jangmo-os so people starting the game get something fun that isn't OP without the risk of being banned.

The precautions are the best you have. We're still not 100% sure how Nintendo knows if a console is hacked, the system information and friends list are just the most obvious examples.
If you do get banned there are ways to unban a console. You can replace the console's internal ID with another one, and as long as the new ID isn't banned you'll be fine.

The 3DS has some fuckery that ties it's files into the filesystem they're in but if you copy the SD as a disk image it works. You can expand it once your stuff is in the new SD.

No GBA VCs are not emulation, they have no VC features which is why Ninty never made them properly purchaseable products.
The work by reverting the cpu which is based on the ds's cpu to the GBA mode and then running the file as a cartridge. This is why you can't use the home menu or any normal VC features

When you pay them I'm bretty sure it's worded to be for something else so he doesn't have to report the income to the local gommie authorities. I understand installing .cia files for games and apps etc. I've already got a few games with freeshop. What about original ds games ?

soundhax doesn't work on such an old firmware I don't think.

Tried moving my EmuNAND over to B9S to save a bit of space, but I'm completely out of touch on any hax released this year.
UDspoilt and SafeHax (both r21 and r19) are instantly freezing on red, so I can't proceed with installation.

Cart updates would be easiest, assuming you have a friend with a cart. Off the top of my head, Smash Bros and all the 6 3DS Pokemon games will get you to a firmware that allows for Browserhax/Soundhax.
