Yeah ,Shadow of the beast had a weird background, but the music was top notch, the graphics for the time were pretty top tier, and it took pride in it's parallax scrolling.

There was a third game, but it was Amiga specific.

In 2016, a little company made a remake of Shadow of the Beast (ps4 only) and it ranks up with the 2010 splatterhouse for fanservice of the originals.
