bikini armor is best armor

Can't find a single image that isn't a blurry mess so bear with me here but the paladin artifact armor in FFXI looked simple but nicely stylized, which is something you pretty much would never see from Square today let alone back then. Bonus points for actually being a useful set unlike every other job's.

that's a pretty shitty version you got yourself there.

I feel like I've lost part of history

I can't find it either, what the hell happened to it?

PLD gear in XIV isn't bad at all. I'm pretty sure the valor set is just an updated version of what you posted.

...

Remember when people used nigger-speak ironically.

give me the DRAGONS.

The ultimate version of a knight is one who skinned and wore his eternal enemy, the dragon, it's scales made into armor.

I always appreciate when a game has armor themed on enemies you must conquer to gather materials to craft said armor that visually reflect on your character. It's something primal.

I have just the game for you, fellow Holla Forums user! Why not buy it and give it a go? You'll love it!

Played it, it's gay.
Even with a bunch of porn mods it isn't fun.
Nothing can salvage Skyrim.

FE's Black Knight was a badass design wise

I love the cavalry armour, went the same dungeon like 10 times just to get the full set.

its not realistic

I dig crystal/ice armor.

waifu knight

The Tellius games had a perfect balance of super cool and practical, practicool if you will.

It's not historical, but it's realistic at least half the time.

you're on to something, mate

Ebony and Daedric armors in TES have always been consistently good.

Except for the part where you'd find basic-bitch bandits wearing the shit.

That's why levelscaling everything is absolutely retarded.

I'm a massive edgelord who likes spikes and shit and seriously the skyrim daedric armor is dogshit

Skyrim would look so much better if the character models didn't have such awful posture. Everyone walks like a knuckledragging nigger.

I prefer this version over this version.
Second one is just too big, too bloated. By the time you get to the last knigga joke wears thin and you just don't care anymore. It's also poorly drawn and has needless additional memetic humour in it. It's quantity over quality.

Well, Oblivion is objectively the worst TES after all.

...

no idea which games have this style though

Monster Hunter's armor design varies wildly from silly to MAXIMUM EDGE but I will never not love the aesthetic of this entire series.

Also, honorable mention to Dragon's Dogma for having a very consistent artstyle and some of the best options for playing Fashion Adventurers.

...

...

Ramza's mercenary armor is pretty good.

I think MonHun is one of the only games where grinding over and over for a single piece of armor is consistently fun.

I think that's because even once you know a Monster's patterns and moves, you still have to work around them. Knowing what's coming doesn't make the fights less challenging, just more rewarding as you start using less potions, you stop carting, you get combos going that leave the monster staggering and falling over itself. It's rewarding because it's the tangible results of gittin' gud.

No, I don't.

...

I love Shagaru and Gore's armor sets. Gore has such a heavy dark knight vibe to it, and then all of Shagaru's is either regal and priest-like or like a paladin's, but still keeps some similarities to Gore's design. Similar capes, similar horns, similar layout of parts, just made out of gold and white and looking like a holy warrior instead of being purple/black and demonic. Angsty emo teenager grows up to become a shining paladin. It reminds me of Cecil's storyline in Final Fantasy IV. For anyone who hasn't played MH, a Gore is a young dragon who has an edgy black color scheme then when he reaches adulthood and becomes a Shagaru he molts his edgelord scales and becomes shiny gold and white.

Is there something you might wanna tell us, user?

...

...

You forgot the best part. It's not just a dragon fursuit, it's a dragon fursuit that slowly mindbreaks you and then transforms you into a dragon.

Monster hunter rarely fails to impress.

Their kidneys are failing. They have around a year at the very most to live.

Looks like it to me. What's interesting is that posted what appears to be a white-colored set.

My cat has been going through kidney failure for about a year now. I kind of hope he does die soon, he's almost 20 and lived a full happy life.

I love old 90's armor (and character) designs, like Lodoss War and the rest.

My sincerest condolences, user. I hope you've had as many chances as you can stand to spend time with him.

i see you too are a fan of minaba

The knightly looking armors in Monster Hunter always look fantastic. I love the Dalamadur relic armor in 4U, but it's such a bitch to get. I hope it comes back in World.
Sorry for the low res image, couldn't find a better one.

That's the upgraded set from Dynamis, which is always just a color swap of the artifact version.

Fate Armor is really hit or miss but Gilgamesh is definitely my favourite. Zero Berserker being pretty good too.

cheeky ass knight

Fate's armor is all over the place. But those two are practically speaking terrible, despite being swanky as fuck. One of my major issues with the series is that the soles on their boots are always smooth metal, which has SHIT traction.

Saber is interesting in that her armor is just basically kendo gear made in metal and slightly modified for aesthetics. The lack of a helmet is annoying and due to the lack of the kendo mask she lacks any kind of shoulder protection, but oh well. The gauntlet in her regular form is of note due to her left gauntlet being sturdier, which is a nice detail. The fuckhueg tassets are kinda weird, but given how the Japanese yoroi also had huge shields there it makes sense, and it's not like the western designs did not have huge armor skirts either. They're excellent on foot.

Alter has high heels, which is stupid and she should have zero waist mobility. Lily also has high heels, which is equally stupid, but I can at least handwave it away with "but she has the Riding skill, so it's for horseback!" while Alter has lost that skill.

Arthur's armor, designed much much later by someone far more talented, is obviously the best and actually looks cool with nice touches like the lack of armor on his right hand for asymmetry and the hood. The newer versions also add some fur lining, which looks neat if you like that style like in Shieldbro. Also, coolest gauntlets.

Arthur's armor was designed before Arturia. He's from Fate/Prototype which was the basic idea for Stay Night the first in the series.

**Also the thread theme was favorite stilted armor anyway

Lancer is kind of interesting as well.

One way to look at him is to see the obvious Adol parallel; Ys was such a huge thing in Japanese fantasy that the armor style is still considered a classic. You can kind of imagine there being certain sections that have armor or you can consider it to be something like jack chain, but really it's not anything realistic.

Historically, Romans used to say that the Celts would run into battle naked, covered in blue paint, which this could be a reference to. Still, as Arcueid puts it, "Blue-tights man!"

lolnope. Fate/Prototype designs were made for the OVA anime. Original design was completely different and has the similar problems as Saber's has.

What's your take on Mordred?

Archer is really interesting.

It's a combination of archaism and futurism. The red cloth parts are kind of reminiscent to kyudo gear and to ceremonial priestly garb and are fittingly called the akahare reisou. Haven't been able to find any names for them, but you see them occasionally. The white cord and knot are called agemaki knots, which are very traditional and can have different meanings. Archer funnily enough is wearing double swastika designs. The chest piece really looks like a bulletproof vest and as you can notice from his pants, he's got a fly which no one else has. Handy.

The jackboots are kind of cool in that they're tied directly to his pants and protect the outside of his shins and his knees. Given that with his cloak, he also adds some more armor to his legs, it seems they're modular. I also think that the round thing on the back of his hand might be some kind of forearm guard, as kote tend to kind of look like that and there's no way it could stay there if it was just attached to the sleeve.

Overall, I think he's wearing some futuro-BDU with the saint's shroud he got from Ciel.

Some kote forearm guards and bulletproof vests for reference. Also, since it's so fucking thin it has to be some kind of weird future material. I'm guessing some kind of nanofibre carbon treated with shearthickening fluid(liquid armor) so that it's tough and protective against impacts but soft when just worn. Of course, pure guesswork on my part.

Mordred has gone through a lot of redesigns. The originals weren't anything to write home about and lack the originality of the others, but given that she never had any big role in the first place it makes sense. Literally generic, as was the original Arthur design

Her later redesign is pretty interesting but I think it lacks the groundwork themes a lot of the FSN basic casts had. It's got a lot of details and cool features, but at the same time it's a bit generic in a modern anime sense. Like the helmet is really, really cool, but it doesn't have any obvious origin or references. I would say that it's a bit overdone, however, in the sense that there's too much going on thus nothing immediately stands out.

I would remove the tasset(metal skirt) since it stands out from her frame too much and has a lot of spiky bits which would get in the way and give her a generic Knight of the Round Table buttcape or something to emphasize her legs when she's going crazy in combat. A lot of the designs suffer from the this, though. Like Gil who shouldn't even be able to sit down in the Vimana with that thing around his ass.

Of course, given that Camelot was during the 5th century, all the plate armor makes little to no fucking sense, but oh well, Knights gonna Knight. I mean, Georgios is also wearing full plate, of some form.

And I have no idea what is going on with his tabard. It's on top of his armor on the chest but half-below it below the belt. Also, no helmet. In Zero, they literally had "bucket head" as a design note for when they started with Lancelot. Nips man, no respect for helmets.

🤔🤔🤔

Really makes you think

shit posting aside that's an interesting analysis

Oh, and last post before I go to bed, to show that Archer indeed is wearing some form of armor and not just a funky wifebeater. Here as a result of Gil, you can see that the chestpiece has taken a considerable beating and has cracks running through it. While this doesn't make sense as a bulletproof armor, if you think of it as a shear-thickening fluid treated fabric it does. Liquid armor like that hardens on impact and then when it has been warped, the damage would continue to exert pressure against the hardened parts, so it would remain in a hardened state where the cracks made some modicum of sense. That or it's just some magical future material with unknown properties.

Night user. please post more when you wake up.

Ya sure.

*Akahara.

These hip spaulder things that are just dangling off belts trigger my autism.

Didn't know Sam Hyde worked in law enforcement.

The only character's you'll find with helms are servants with stat hiding skills like Mordreds Secret of the Pedigree, other than that they use shrouds for facial cover like with Alcides.

The Arthur armor set one as well.

...

You'll note the helmet is here as well
in the Prototype Materials. Though I do agree that Kaleid is kind of bad, I do not understand what you are trying to say.

If we're relying off of Primsa Illya servants, Gilgamesh can be manifest with gigantic arms, Hundred faces Hassan has a variant where he only has one eye and Lancer can be summoned with dog paws.
In addition what you posted was not even the servant from Kaleid Liner you posted Zachary with the Saber install card. That's like me posting Illya with Assassin card installed and claim Hundred Faces Hassan has a hoody instead of a mask.
While he was designed with a helmet did we ever see the Arthur from Fragments of Blue and Silver with his helmet on? Because in other instances the only characters with helmets and actively use them are servants with stat obscuring skills.

damn right user. the ingot relic armour is my personal fav

That's supposed to be a knight? Fucker looks like he's ready to go to Carnival in Brazil.

You are correct!

The Elite Knight set is fairly realistic, user.

what game is that from? i can't help but be drawn to that particular bikini armour. damn you primal desires

Its a game on the DS called Code of Princess. It's okay, 6/10 at best.

I love me some knight armor.

shit, thought i recognised it. it's on steam too if I remember correctly.

fuaaark. that first image and even the second too have to be my favourites in this entire thread

Since you're a man of taste, here's some more bikini armor.

...

Anyone remember Deep Down? It was some Medieval Fantasy game that was announced at E3 a few years ago and has been in development hell ever since.
A real shame, it was gonna have some cool, realistic armor designs. Not enough games have realistic knight armor like this.

Yeah I do, I remember all the fucking moronic "WOW THEY HAVE MIMIC CHESTS WHAT A LITERAL DARK SOUL CLONE" comments too.
Whatever happened to it? Did they scrap it?

I can't get tired of Nishimura's art style

That frogmouth in the centre is a little ridiculous but otherwise these look nice, I hadn't heard about that. Got any links to footage?

No, see it's in the Fate/Prototype Materials, you dingus. It's canon design and Kaleid only made use of it. All the other shit you mention is Kaleid-only.

Can you teach me how to blankpost?

Like I said, its in development hell. It was revealed at E3 2014 yet it still doesn't even have a release date. Its fucked beyond belief. At this rate if it ever does get finished, they'll probably hold off on releasing it until the next gen of consoles is out.

Here's the E3 trailer.

Correction: It's in Fate Prototype Animation Material; Prototype Material(there is no Fate/Prototype Material, should have checked) lacks the rear-view and the helmet version, but has the same art by the same artist. And it was released years before Drei made use of it.

Solange is pretty cute. I hope the fighting game they're making with her in it turns out well.

The opening cutscene for CoP implies that the bikini armor is what she wears all the time and I'm not sure if that's better or worse than her having a "civilian" outfit when she's not swordfighting.

They're making a fighting game with her? Cool! What's it going to be called?

I'm fine with it. Also, in the only animated cutscene of the game, its shows that her bikini bottom is actually a G-String keep still my beating heart

fuck, I want this so bad. it looks like a dark souls that would actually appeal to me [don't ask why]

It makes no sense as armor, so if you think of it as just a ceremonial dress then it's fine imo.

From what I recall it was also Capcom's way of showing off their successor to MTFramework.

Blade Strangers. Check the OP of the Fighting Game general for the video but the only information we have is from Nicalis taking it to E3 before the developers were really ready to show it off. Looks neat even though it's still early in development.

...

Normal Dark Souls doesn't appeal to you?
Its got great armor and some of my favorite gameplay or any game. And some of the best looking armor too.

How does dark souls have realistic armor when there is no way in hell you can roll or leap like that with "real" armor.

what the fuck is this, dark souls has very stylized armor which is in some cases completely impractical
what I do like about it as that it all seems like a real object that could exist. even if it was real it would be a bad idea to wear into battle.
its grounded not realistic

I like the dark souls armour enough; it's the atmosphere really and the fact my controller simply won't fucking work with dark souls no matter what i try

the animations and movement don't really have any bearing on how realistic aesthetically and practically the armour is. also, this

Some of it is stylized, some of it is not. Cool your jets autismo.

Armor is not as immobilizing at you think. Knights of old would do cartwheels and even backflips in their armor to show off their agility.

The Dark Knight and Paladin armorforms look fairly neat, too. Dark Knight is better, because it shows the female character's asses better, tho.

I thought I remembered a high school girls as knights manga, but they wear full plate rather than a mix of a uniform with armor. Still pretty funny.

The Darknut from LoZ: Twilight Princess had some awesome looking armor and weaponry.

...

Not a knight but they have some sweet-ass armor. The silver variant looks better though.

They were one of the best enemies of the game too. It's a damn shame they never did more with the combat, some of the weapons actually felt good to use. But the enemies and difficulty are generally pathetic.

The Helm of the Wise is actually based on a real life one.

For improving Daedric in Oblivion they also made glass look horrible. Morrowind glass armor looks neat though.

cleavage knight?

You know how armor works for girls user–the more revealing the better.

...

For what purpose?

For protection, there was a small period right when rifles were becoming popular where thick plating was actually effective against them.

These two posts alone would spark a 750 post rant from arguing ultra-autists on half/v/. I remember in 2014 or something kids would post female armor just to start off a thread that capped out every other day. What a shithole.

not to sound like an SJW autist, but calling this bikini armor is like calling a bikini and a tie a bikini business suit.

Skyrim's artists are actually good people. I wish someone would make them work on Morrowind landscape instead of Skyrim.
Valenwood, Black Marsh, Elsweyr all could have been extremely original like Morrowind was with giant mushrooms and weird creatures. Instead nords and not even fantasy like in Oblivion so it is just dark and depressing.

Posts like that always reeked of tumblr/neogaf. Pretty sure it was just shills trying to spread their filth like always.

Look at the size of this thread. The same autist(s) are here too.

To be fair, the game is old and probably very low population. I never got hooked but I did like its style. I played mostly solo though, since in its early days the game used peer based connections and Lann's whole deal is i-frame abuse. I didn't like the other two original characters as much.

You're onto something here.

Ok, but what I'm getting at, posting Vella butt is instant replies for "what game" and I'm more impressed people still haven't heard of vindictus' name sheerly through Vella ass posting. It's fucking memetic at this point.
I'll never get over the fact they nerfed the piss out of the first 50 levels

I mean, okay, the Royal Swordsman set and Drakeblood set are realistic because they're literally museum pieces, but nothing from the other games was.
