Tell me a bit about Links. Have they managed to actually cull the degenerate decks or did they just make Monarchs/Kozmo/[insert main-deck reliant archetype] OP?

Kozmos and Monarch are dead but there main deck people use now is True Draco. Links are fun to use, a shame that they restrict other methods. World Chalice can make boards that can't be kaiju'ed since they can Special summon one to their own side with Firewall Drago.

It's basically a dumb version of Enemy Controller, which is the top support spell at the moment. Do pvp duels for Super Rare tickets, get 2 enemy controllers.

The top support trap is Windstorm of Etequa, which you get from Mai at level 25, as it basically ends the battle phase for the opponent. The top hand trap for defence is Sphere Kuriboh, which does what Enemy Controller does in it's first effect.

In duel links, a generic deck should be stocked with 3 enemy controller, 1 windstorm of etequa. Sphere kuriboh can be added, but it's most useful for Dark Necrofear and Reliquished decks.

Magical Arm Shield can only stop an attack or make someone lose a monster, which does have it's advantages, but it's an Ultra Rare and there's better Super Rare cards that do better.

I also play YGOpro, but Duel Links is the only passable game to play during my work breaks and bringing a handheld is only asking it to get stolen.

They released Silent Magician 4, 8 and fucking Level Up. Seems like this might be the new meta since it is a 3500 atk and it is not effected by the quick spell staples that everyone plays. I am not sure if I shouldn't start throwing my gems at this new box or not.

I probably overspoke just after waking up. It has potential, especially against non-money using folks like me that have no good traps like the wall and still no koriboh, but it is going to lose in Legendery.

Is there even point to playing the nordics? Surely there are better tunners if you just want a tunner, like Junk Synchron. You can also meme with Barbaros if you want to. Ayers Rock Sunrise could be nice too. Sea Koala is also an option. In case you have missed it use the Otter to increase the attack of your strongest monster so you can get an even stronger token, you don't have to copy the attack of the opponent if not needed. With Obedience Schooled I am not sure you need the books anyway, including Super-Nimble. You can definitely free up space and play more traps. Also Creature Swap.

I know it's inefficient as hell but I love having a Boss Card and this guy is a pretty good source of chuckles especially with the nordic support cards that can add another monsters attack to his,or Bound Wand for a free revive + damage boost.

If you do, you really only need one Silent Magician lvl8, 3 silent magician lvl4, 3 Level UP!, a few Alchemist of Black Spells, x3 Pitch Black Power Stone from Crimson kingdom etc.

Cup of Ace is also a great card for Silent Magcian since no matter what you're benefiting yourself if Silent's on the field.

If you want to run Silent Magician, it's a double archetype and a bridge between the Spell Counter and Level archetypes. The ultimate insects from the same pack seem good too.

Generally looks like a good pack to invest in if you like the playstyle, you don't need to dip twice in it either for the Silent archetype and there's loads of cards to support it since spell counters also work with it.

Wasn't planning to do anything big with it but ramming into things to ram into them more as the legit big boss monster method sounded funny.

Oh, I don't know about that one, I know that counter fairies are also getting some new support and one of them is one of the Parshath cards you play so I thought you'd be running that. I used to play them 2 years ago (I think) when that pendulum counter fairy came out which made it so that you have no cost when activating counter traps. It was prone to bricking as expected, wasn't anything too special, but when it went off you just cockblocked whatever your opponent wanted to do and they became really salty.

Yeah the new monster is top left (can summon from the hand or grave banishing fairies from mostly anywhere for tributes, deals piercing and searches a trap when it damages) and the new parshath trap (bottom right) is reveal a trap in hand, discard 1 and pay 1000 (fairy pendulum negates 2 of those) and negate anything and play any parshath from deck, extra deck or grave (so the new one or the old synchro pretty much).
Seems still bricky to me, but I must have some really bad ratios since people really hate this deck apparently. When magibullet does the same thing but 10 times as consistently for me

Well counter fairies are bricky due to being so trap-heavy and being quite limited in searching capability. To put things into perspective I kept playing Six Samurai long after Gateway got hit, still play them quite a bit since they got those new supports and all. Anyway, while it wasn't nearly as consistent as it was, I could still get 2 Shiens or any combination of Shien with either Barkion or Beast on my first turn way more consistently than getting what I needed with counter fairies, yet somehow I mined more salt with counter fairies than with Six Samurai

As a Ghostrick player this interests me, but aside from the Trickstars -and fuck them for being all rares- what kind of shit do they run? My one issue with Vendread right now is im running a zombie deck thats mostly ghostly samurais.

From the OCG decklists I've seen there's three variants that spring up most often, one is pure which only uses Trickstars and handtraps, with handtraps that are missing in the main deck usually being in the side deck, those are usually Honest, Ghost Ogre, Ghost Reaper, Ash Blossom, Maxx "C" and Skull Meister. Kaijus are also usually side decked. The other two variants are Windwitch Trickstars and Chaos Trickstars.

Man, I wish they got more support. If only they didn't -1 every turn. A really good Field Spell or something that lets you summon them from deck (Ignoring Their Summoning Conditions)

I am the Burning Abyss will see a lot of plan even if is not generic. It could easily be Fiend Support though. The GB will surely need GBs, I hope it is a Link 2 with both pointers towards my main zones, it WILL need a pretty OP special effect to make them playable again. In my ideal world, GBs get 3 links and whole new wave of main deck support.
World Chalice is pretty OP, they can make boards that not even Kaiju's can break.

I think, I like Rokket a lot. It is the Link Archetype that I like the most so far, they will get more support by Grace of being an anime Archetype, I hope it is good. Maybe not Meta tier 1 but playable at least. World Chalice is the strongest one though. Those ending boards can be unbreakable.

D/D/Ds are weaker with links but not unplayable, you likely just don't know how to play them in this format, the sequence to summon a good field is pretty unintuative now. Three card combos are weaker for now but you can still make a 4 card Decode, Ghengis, Crystal, Siegfried or Decode, Crystal, Ghengis, Titanic Galaxy field.

I meant Shiranui Samurai but both are bad, you only have one normal summon and there's no point in wasting it on a monster that just dumps Mezuki. You don't need all 3 Gozuki or Spiritmaster. If you're going to run vendreads commit to it, stick in the other two pre-preperations and preperations, one or two houndhorde are optional. I can't iamgine why you would want to play any less than 2 Omega either, Zombiestein and Lancelot are terrible, castel and ark often serve the same purpose and would be better off as Abyss Dweller or Tornado Dragon, likewise Clear Wing and Moonlight Rose overlap most of the time, you'd be better using Black Rose.

Red-Eyes is the current top meta deck in duel links. That might change soonish.

Our day is coming.

Red-eyes has a bunch of support cards based around burn and monster stealing. It has a support card exclusive to it that can be used to summon Fusion monsters from the deck at the cost of summoning nothing else for the turn.

It has fusion monsters and gemini monsters that can deal 2400 life point damage as long as they attack, even if they get blocked, on top of their normal battle damage.

They have a lv1 searcher that can summon it directly from the deck, and burn cards that do direct damage.

They have a variant of Summoned Skull, which has an effect that clears the board of monsters as long as it's attack is better then said monster's defence, and in this game's current meta it almost always is.

Being a Gemini deck at heart, it has good support in Catalyst Field, which gives the powerful effects in the same turn they're summoned, and there's plenty of generic Gemini support cards to use these effects outside of it.

It's also getting constant support and new monsters that you're not seeing through packs, so the only reason your Red-Eyes deck sucks is because you suck, m8. They had to actually LIMIT red-eyes cards like this one because the archetype was THE BEST dragon swarm deck in the game before the nerfs.

Yeah and that's nice and all it can do a lot of things, except be good enough for relevancy at any point unlike big brother blue eyes.

A lot of Gemini monsters have powerful effects, and recent support cards allow you to get those effects working the instant you play them.

Red's Problem is lack of direction with the archetype, no protection and too many monsters without special summoning conditions. While REF is good is restriction makes it hard to stablish big strong boards.

Maybe because it's generic dragon support and not just dragon support? Should I proclaim that Destiny HEROes rule because Disk Commander is a free Pot of Greed whenever you summon him from the grave, despite the fact that it'd be easier to get his effect off in a zombie deck with Zombie World than D-HEROes themselves?

special summoning is good too lockout but the 2 best decks right now are a pendlum deck and true kings and they play alot of spells and true kings dont special summon that much, it might be good to side in thou if your playing against spyrals but honestly i rather side kajius or sphere mode

Well there is, there's a round table build but it's awful because it takes too long to set up and you have to run many of the shit knights to use it, though if they made some more cards that made it easier to set up it could be fun.

Also, that was exactly what I was thinking, since Artorigus has a main deck variant and 2 Xyz and Laundsallyn has 1 main deck and 1 Synchro they could make another Synchro Laundsallyn, a level 6 perhaps. I just dunno what kind of effect I'd give him to make him worth it, maybe immunity to opponent's card effects?

The best gameplay-cheating thing that the modded apks provide (emulation or not) is to get more prices from duels, but that doesn't even mean rare cards and for some reason it is not even maximum prices.. And the game already has some farming decks that farm decks for more prices, though I am missing 1 of 3. And of course you are risking eventually to get banned, but if you are cheating.
It is the freemium trap. The game feels almost good to play, but it is an endless farm you can't win, especially if newer player. And you don't want to stop playing, because one day you might decide you want to play again and you will be that much more behind. Jewname made a drug and got hooked up on it.

Yeah, they really need a way to send your knights to the grave fast to make it a more viable build. It could be a fun playstyle, swarming the board with the normal weaker knights and equips but right now it's just way too slow.
A level 6 would be good, would need a better tuner then lady of the lake to get it out. Why did they make her only summon a normal monster from your graveyard in a deck that only has 1 normal monster? They should've made it to where your noble knights are considered normal in the grave too, would make Lady of the lake a lot more useful.
That'd be kinda shit since there's already noble arms that pretty much offer that protection. Maybe something about tributing other noble knights to banish opponents cards. Would be similar to king Artorigus effects but slightly better, but with the trade off of not being able to easily equip noble arms to himself like Artorigus does. Would work thematically too since Laundsallyn betrays the other knights.

You're right, I thought that only Excaliburn gives effect protection (which is just against targeting), but I forgot that NA of Destiny is a once per turn protection not just against battle but either that or card effect destruction protection. Your idea works much better.

I'll post a decklist, don't want to shill my channel. It just uses Sangan and Witch, by getting them on the field quickly then using poly, synchro or destruction, then searches out stuff like red resonator to make more plays. I don't think I had less than 4 cards in my hand at most points.

Unfortunately I'm really only using him at 1 with 1 poly, but this deck is so consistent getting the two material out you could put Sanwitch and poly at 3 and still get him out constantly. At that point I'd add in Dark Magician tech or fusion weapon, something to keep him on the field.

If you're going to use Polymerization then perhaps consider Fusion Recycling Plant.

If I did decide to play it at 3 then yeah, that'd be a good idea. Getting back Sangan or Witch every fusion summon would make this deck even faster.

You really don't need it at more than 2 with Recycling Plant since it can get it from the graveyard, you could even get away with 1 if you aren't worried about it getting banished.

Yes. And there are a lot of gem (used to buy packs) being given away right now. Right now they seem very shitty, though. Their best fusion would be Thunder Giant. Judai has the skills to play Skyscrapers on the field and also draw Poly from outside the deck. You will have to wait for a box with Heroes in the to maybe have them be a little better.
Also a little recommendation, their is a shitty Hero structure deck with two Polys. And a 3rd poly you can get from leveling up Joey (one of the first cards to get from him).

Okay, I'll get Duel Links when I can, guess it'll be good enough now for playing when I'm commuting to uni. Links got me massively butthurt since I make it a point of playing pure HEROes when I play non-competitively and now that's pretty much impossible. The other 3 archetypes I have a lot of experience with are all synchro-based, namely Six Samurai, Synchrons and Infernity, so I'm not surprised if Duel Links never gets them (though I won't be surprised if they introduced synchros in a few years).

They probably will next year.

And I should add that in the game's files there are already recorded voices for "I syncrho/XYZ/Pendulum summon". And Yugi even has a line for Ebony Black Magician.

I am pretty sure that is something only westerntards thing. The game was after all probably decided as Japan first in their mind anyway. The fact some retards got "nostalgic" is just luck. There is nothing nostalgic about this game. It is already full of special summons up the ass and all sorts of "cancer".
And yes, they just don't release full supports and a lot of the boss monster has sub 2000 defense so they can be beaten by the lvl4 beaters. Though they are exceptions like Red-Eyes itself, which one of the bonus thing that gives it an advantage. Half of your deck is basically backrow that destroy an opponent monster during the battle field or switches it to defence so you can destroy it in your turn.

Well, I just hope it isn't too bad when it comes to grinding, from what you've said it should be interesting trying to come up with troll decks, I'll just have to check the card pool first to see what my options are in that regard.

There is definitely a lot of grinding, but that is not the problem. The problem is that when the grinding ends you will be getting gems only from events. But they seem to have been getting better with their gem rewards. Except the newest tower event, it was bullshit garbage. They are repeating the Duelist Kingdom event in October (you can get the small Yugi in it), that one had some nice gem rewards.
As a f2p you need to be really mindful what to buy. The best pack to buy as a f2p is probably still Down of Destiny. You can make a so-so Naturia deck probably just by buying half the box (it is a small box with 80 packs) and buying 3 boxes of it to get most of the Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys deck support cards. The problem is you can't even make a good Phoenix deck without getting into some of the old boxes with almost all shitty cards now. And Phoenix has been losing steam anyway. It is hard to get into the King of Games rank with it at this point.
But there is one positive thing about the game if you are playing to have fun. In ranked just surrender and never allow yourself to go above rank gold or platinum. This way you won't have to deal with most of the meta (at least a 1-1.5 weeks after the season restart, every month ranked restarts). You get some gem awards to go in higher ranks, so you can try ranking in the last week for example, but actually staying in lower rank has its positives too, other than less meta decks. On 30, 60 and 100 ranked wins you get SR tickets that you can exchange for Super Rare cards. Now with GX you get some bonus SR tickets, so use them.
From the SR tickets get 3 x Enemy Controller. From the Down of Destiny box other than the Naturia and Phoenix cards get 3x Super Rush Headlong (another very important backrow right now) and 3x Heavy Knight of Flame (it is a good beater). Level up Mai to get Windstorm of Etaqua (only one copy, backrow staple) and you might want to level up Odion and get Curse of Anubis too (might become the better Etaqua at this point in the game).

Even the somewhat merciful contact fusion condition of materials also being in the graveyard being able to be used if they were special summoned before doesn't help at all, since you somehow need to get all the shitty XYZ monsters to make Dragon Cannon, then you need the two shitty VWs to make Tiger Catapult (meaning that you already need either a Link that points to 2 of your zones or get one or both of them killed and then revived), now you can finally get your big bad VWXYZ on the field, now you just gotta summon Armed Dragon Lv7 and presto, you've got yourself Armed Dragon Catapult Cannon. The effect is really good, but by the time you summon this thing you should've won 10 turns before. It would be easier to make a space program in your own backyard using old rusty tractor parts than to summon this fucking thing in even the most casual setting.

Personally I'm decently lucky, half of the decks I like to play still work well in link era. In fact they're probably better now because other decks got screwed so much.

Finally caved in and starting buying Next Generation box. 80 packs in I got all worth while URs, but De-Fusion. But sadly I also got just on Horus lvl 6. I probably should restart at this point, but I am a little unsure about it.

Being able to steal both zones and prevent your opponent from doing fucking anything was the last straw.

There should have just been 3 fucking Extra Monster Zones per player with no way to steal control of them or use more than 3 Fusions, Synchros, Xyzs and Pendulums at a time. This would have been the absolute best way to regulate overwhelming Extra Deck power while not shitting up the official rules entirely.

In fact, I want so badly to try making some kind of program for this. I'd love to see how many people would love that alternative and how they'd adapt to it and what they need to prioritize having out together with their limited "slots".

Like look at this card, It lets you summon another fusion monster from the extra deck using cards you have in your hand and in the field, which is now pretty much useless in link format. Now if this was an older card it'd make sense for it to not account for links but this card came out 20 days before links officially came out in the TCG. You think a company would add an exception to make this new card work with the new mechanic and wouldn't let the new mechanic stop this effect from being used at all, but nope konami doesn't give a shit.

Maybe this card will be able to actually use this part of the effect if HERO's get some generic link support but as of now this new card's effect is half worthless because they just didn't give a shit enough to account for the new mechanic.

The whole reason monster levels exist is so players can't pull a Kaiba, but pendulums mean you can summon as many high-level monsters as you want whenever you want with the only drawback being you must turn 2 of your monsters into continuous magic cards.
