are there still people who unironically like lenin?

he was like an /r/socialism mod, a red witch hunter

everyone will believe he is back, idol

Leninists would be on suicide watch

As if Lenin had this sort of capacity for self-criticism. He'd just write a book in which he'd detail how he did nothing wrong but his stupid-ass subordinates fucked it all up after his death.

You already made this exact thread comrade

Lenin was one of the greatest men to ever live

He's the only Leftist who ever accomplished anything relevant.

Lenin was instrumental to the Russian revolution and he was a great mind, but even his most honest contemporaries, critics and especially himself recognized that notions of "great man theory" are idealistic interpretations of the truly multi-pronged efforts that led to any kind of lasting results in the history of the communist movement. And this article is coming from Mattick, a left communist who heavily disagreed with Lenin on many levels.

What is causal here is not the lack of leader figures like Lenin, but a general complete abandonment of popular discipline in the left itself. We've gone from being interpreters of the world and careful coordinators of our efforts to mindless activists engaging in nothingness. To paraphrase Zizek: when in 1914 the war broke out in Russia, Lenin never pretended to know what to do. He only knew what was to be done after first fucking off to Switzerland to read a bunch of Marx and Hegel.

To quote Marx:
Marx and [I have] fought harder all our lives against the alleged Socialists than against anyone else. (Engels and Marx to Bebel, Leipzig 1882)
Our journey to any kind of success must begin with a thorough and relentless critique of the left, just like it began that way for Marx. It's always going to be the bare bones of any beginning movement: to properly interpret where we've gone wrong, where we are and where we could go.

Also watch out for Zizek's Lenin 2017 around June/July so you can refresh libgen and pirate it.

Pretty sure he'd be way more libertarian after seeing how the USSR went, IIRC he even had a revelation of some kind regarding his policies

Instead of waiting endlessly for another man like Lenin be like Lenin yourself.

So you want us to go backwards?

Be the Lenin whom Lenin could not be.

This. Ditch democratic centralism.

Not gonna lie, former Marxist here. It's fucking hilarious watching every attempt by antifa crash and burn. But in all seriousness we can't let the proletariat get their hands on the means of production.
