I do not believe Trump is the savior his right-wing fanboys and fangirls make him out to be.
That being said, I'm not sure where else to ask this. But what is your ideal strategy for opposing Trump? Is this the right place to ask this?
I've seen personally what happens when western culture goes full fedora tipping leftist mode, so I don't want that, but I disagree with a lot of what Trump and his supporters stand for. How exactly do you plan on being a thorn in their side?
YOU FUCKING NIGGERS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
MODS PLEASE GO FULL TANKIE ON DISCUSSION AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Christian Powell
My ideal strategy for opposing trump is unify all lefty organizations into a united front through entryism.
Nicholas Garcia
Yeah, I was about to say that I'm not trying to bait or honeypot you guys. I'm Canadian, I have no interest in tracking you faggots down.
I wonder what the idea going forward will be on how to oppose Trump. Since he seems to have no real opposition at all. Letting a man like that go unopposed is very sad in this day and age.
Aaron Cooper
Opposing Trump isn't about opposing Trump. It's about rebuilding a coherent leftist movement and alternative for people. Trump got elected because 45% of people felt like there was no point in voting and they had no options.
Brody Diaz
Protests with a pointed message would help. actual worker related actions like strikes and sit ins would be best. The fight for 15, DAPL and 350 protests are inspirational to me.
College students need to do mass strikes already, the fact that this hasn't become a common thing on "activist" campuses is a prime example of ideology in action. Specifically targeting environmental damage colleges contribute to and the pyramid scheme loan system they prey on people with. If they cant even fight for their own financial future what good are they for most other causes?
I had this bizarre idea about getting health care enacted where people actively strike against pharmaceutical companies by not getting their prescriptions or going to their doctor appointments for a few months. Obviously its a lot to ask people and I understand the importance of severe health problems that cant go unchecked, but we cant let money dominated health care effect our health anymore either.
People realizing Hillary was not a savior and not even a lesser evil would help. Gas lighting the republicans while slut shaming the wall street whores in the dems can do some good as well. I know this site hates efforts like the justice democrats but supporting them nominally while taking other large actions elsewhere wont hurt anyone. I also think we should support multiple parties and advocate for ranked choice voting like Jill was advocating for. Another party on the "left" needs to at least appear somewhat strong to scare even the nicer people in the two main parties a bit into adopting their positions.
Jack Ross
I was behind the Justice Democrats until recently when I heard one of the funders is connected to Soros. Now I'm very skeptical.
Also for god sakes stop peddling instant-runoff voting. IRV is not good enough to help third parties where it counts and it even introduces its own new problems making it only marginally better than first-past-the-post in the end and bad enough that angry voters will repeal it when they get one of its nastier outcomes (which happen often). If you want an alternative voting system that can actually break out of two-party duopoly you need to be advocating for approval or score voting. Approval isn't quite as expressive as score voting but the advantage is stages don't need to alter their ballots at all. Please check this out sometime and learn about IRV's failings:
You are right it's not enough, but I never said we should stop with it. It's better than nothing at this point and I'm trying to stay positive in as many avenues as possible.
Alexander Long
It's not better enough though. It gives third parties the false sense that they can break through power under it while pacifying the population for another voting system reform that could take another 30 or 40 years to get people fired up about. Or the other result could be like what happened in Vermont in 2009 where IRV delivers such a counter-intuitive result that the voters decide to return to FPtP the next election and kill their receptiveness to other voting systems. If we're going to advocate for a better ballot then let's do it right and not stop at something insufficient just because it has the "momentum".
Nicholas Williams
jfc Holla Forums gtfo. When the hell did Soros tin-foiling become a thing on leftypol?
On the spectrum of billionaires financing things, Soros is the least troubling. Literally just a dude who ran a funding grant for NGOs.
Dominic Jones
Soros has been co-opting movements for ages. His involvement is troubling.
Daniel Long
Of course not, he works for Israel. Trumples can't deal with reality though.
Isaiah Ramirez
We don't. Trump is the very soul of accelerationism and the best thing to happen to the left in a long time. He will single handily eat the right's credibility from the inside like a worm.
Easton Richardson
Listen to Bernie Sanders not to an online internet chan where anyone can post dumb things, even Nazis.
Adrian Perry
I'm OP and I know that Trump is a Jewish shill puppet. Holla Forums will find that out the very slow and bitter way, even though the evidence is already available to us right now.
Carson Diaz
Do not oppose Trump in any way shape or form. Let the man do his magic. He's going to make america great again! Just trust us…don't do anything. Get on the acelerationism train baby!
Carter Cook
Come to me goy, I will tell you how to oppose the evil rasist mysoginist capitalist nazi oberfuhrer Trump
Henry Powell
But he loves the jews! How can he be a nazi
Benjamin Cook
Organize a proper political movement against Trump instead of thinking interpellated LARPing on the street will get us anywhere. Galvanize what is now the derelict hovel of left-liberals with clues as to why they lost so hard and build consensus. Tackle Trump and his administration on his policies and the content of his politics; don't fall into the trap of trying to parody a man who's so clownish it's impossible to clown him and not have people empathize with him. Channel the Sanders method: rally behind you the voice of the people he managed to get behind him, people that would otherwise fall for right wing demagoguery. You know, those people Sanders, despite being at best a radical socdem, managed to rally: rural workers, farmers and precarious workers.

Where is my money, Soros? I thought we had a deal.
Jose Adams
What do you think will happen if we keep spamming his twitter with the US Liberty infographic?
Blake Myers
Assassinate him, Pence, Bannon, Milo and Sargon.
Dominic Butler
Oh rly? Please do tell us where you live and when did that happen.
David Gomez
Soros is a good guy he is on our side. I love how right-wingers and right wing governments all around the world are afraid of Soros
When ever there is something against their interest their interests they blame Soros.
Oliver Thomas
Jewish right-wing also hates Soros.
Parker Bell
Man, I have long ago accepted that my opposition is utterly meaningless because the left is effectively dead outside of very localized events like Rojava.
Gavin Diaz
The best way to oppose trump is to support the justice Democrats.
Grayson Collins
You group up with other leftists and start awakening class consciousness like a motherfucker. Trump is going to fuck things up so hard that the pendulum is going to swing hard back in our direction. People will be angry, frustrated, lost, and poor. That is when we really take advantage of the moment and get more and more people on our side. You don't need fancy academic terms or tons of theory, just a grasp on what's wrong with the current systen and an actual policy on how to fix it. People will hear our message. It's worked before and it can work again - hopefully they won't murder the fuck out of /ourguy/ this time.
Samuel Russell
Soros has a history of undermining socialists and communists in case you weren't aware.
Austin Richardson
I live in Canada, and I'm old enough to have been involved in "this" sort of discussion for years and years now, although it was much different back then. I remember when you leftists ruled the discourse, it was fucking terrible.
Jackson Evans
>But what is your ideal strategy for opposing Trump? my strategy is to watch and laugh. not sure if its opposing Trump, but its working out for me.
Luke Reyes
Not even 2 weeks in office and faggots have their panties in a twist.
My question is, since Soros invested so much into Clinton and all that money is now unrecoverable and lost, will he be a sore loser and start an orange revolution in the United States?
Will he fuck up his country, just as he did mine?
Nicholas Perez
Sit on my comfy armchair and read some Bordiga while sipping a glass of wine.

Samuel Wilson
Leftists never ruled the discourse in Canada. We are not liberals.
Grayson Adams
What do these buzzwords even mean?
Oliver Richardson
That's it, I am switching to Mangas. At least they know how to keep their politics apart.
Isaac Perez
he got triggered after reading a tumblerina blog
Colton Green
Try a book faggot.
Alexander Parker
I'm not just talking about Canada, we have something called the "internet', and I've seen full leftism mode years ago, it's not pretty.
No. The real danger is how fedora tipping leftists behaved years ago on the internet when they had the power and narrative in their hands. I remember it and it was a fucking nightmare. As much of a phony Trump is, I'm glad you leftists got your asses kicked the way you did.
Let the fedora tipping leftists and the alt-kike destroy each other.
Wyatt Adams
Are you a religious retard by any chance?
Dylan Martin
Can you define this please, I think you're meme mixing and I cant understand you.
