On the way down to smugglers, through the elevator, if you kill yourself using smokes while the elevator's going down, you'll activate the load trigger so that you revive with negative HP and leave the corpse behind in the hell's kitchen map. So you just take the elevator back up and you have a fresh corpse on the elevator with every single item in your inventory inside it.

I think a lot of people (myself included) stopped their first playthrough during Libery Island. Although everytime I was compelled to come back to this game for some reason, and I'm glad I did.
The interesting thing is that during your second playthrough, you actually enjoy Liberty Island a lot more and you can see how cleverly designed it was.
Maybe it was designed at the beginning of the developpement when tutorial parts are best developped at the end.

I try to always keep casualties at a minimum and kill only when needed, but I never kill UNATCO or NSF. MJ12 I try to also keep alive since being a shadow is my thing.

And it goes perfectly well with the plot that involves JC killing dozens of unnamed M12 agents, because because they are not only just another faceless unnamed enemy (in the game) but also a faceless part of the machine in the game

Why does this game not have autosave for god's sake. It's so easy to forget and then you lose all progress to a stupid mistake, or enemy issuing a one-hit kill.

Also there's a hilarious duplication glitch someone just told me about where in Smuggler's elevator if you kill yourself after pressing the button to go down (smokes work best) you load into the next area technically dead, but you can then go back and loot your own corpse, and you can do it repeatedly. It does however result in some other side-effects due to you being sorta dead (lasers don't trigger for example) and you lose all ammunition. Apparently it can also morph augmentation canisters but I've never seen that happen.
