Source PornMaker is already a thing user.

Hopefully never?

Real time Ray tracing is impossible

Never because the film is pre-rendered.
unless you're a fan of QTEs and consider a long movie of them a "game"

Well, the movie was all pre-rendered
For a dynamic game to have all that detail and a good FPS ratio will depend on a very strong computer.
I find it hard to believe that it will be possible with consoles, as you'd need to spend a lot of cash on a computer that would manage to do it.

Man, you gotta understand, they still need to run it on PS4.

We already have plenty of games that look better than Toy Story

Seriously, go watch Toy Story in HD, it did not age well. That said, KH3 Woody looks like shit just because people are fucking lazy, not because we have incapable systems

Also when I say "it did not age well" I of course mean graphics wise.

it will be possible eventually, it's just a matter of when

...

When the Current Year strikes CY [+CY] we shall know and see all, and we shall know and see nothing.

The humans look weird but everything else looks fantastic. Also do take in account that the HD version of Toy Story was re-rendered from the original files to support 3D and the film wasn't intended to be displayed at such a high res mostly because the textures are small res wise

Why do you think Uncharted and The Gays of Us have good visual quality? it's because those games barely have any gameplay. You have more gameplay in Stiens;Gate then you do in a modern Sony 1st party game. Just look at the new God of War, it's a beautiful looking disgrace.

Does not equal
There are many reasons why Ray traced graphics will never become a standard in video games and the main one is that processing power that can be fit in to consoles will never be enough because of how small the microprocessor can physically get. You have reading comprehension problems, user.

Keep in mind diminishing returns isn't all hardware, PIXAR is able to make their movies with great graphics because that is primarily their job. Game development has a limited budget and graphics believe it or not isn't the top priority. Budgets and time need to be balanced, if you're making a CGI movie then you better damn well hire artists to make it look good, if you're making a video game it's not as important in the grand scheme of things. Diminishing returns has a lot to do with the fact games are getting more and more expensive to make because developers are being pressured into the latest and greatest hardware that they will never be able to take full advantage of

speaking of which I recently watched the incredibles and thought it looked good still despite being so old but even that movie is starting to age. I have also really started to hate the artstyle purely because everyone in the world uses it and im so sick of it but that ain't the movies fault.

The CGI movie industry desperately needs a fucking crash. All the CGI movies that have come out this year look uninteresting, and generic, you can't even fucking tell if a movie is made by Dreamworks or Illumination anymore, at least Disney was able to distinguish themselves with Zootopia but that's really it. Supposedly the Emoji Cancer movie bombed which gives me some hope

Why don't they just make the microprocessor a macroprocessor?
Then it can be super fast!

the fact it made any money back makes me sad.
boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=theemojimovie.htm
sure its a 10 million loss but quite frankly they should have lost a lot more.

We got amazing graphics on the new uncharted game, I think we are almost there.

It's more than a 10 mil loss

The budget is 50 million. That means they'll need to make 100 million just to break even and 150 million to justify its cost

...

nice meme

please use archive.is/check-out-quake-2-played-on-a-titan-xp-with-real-time-gpu-path-tracing/?utm_content=buffer32ad1&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=buffer_pcgamerfb here is thing

Quantum computing is already a thing. And it's very unlikely you will ever see it in your desktop ever. Quantum computing involves supercooling the chips just to make them work and even then they aren't really designed for general-purpose tasks

probably not for two more generations. No one has made a high end PC game since 2007 so, I don't see it being something that gets attempted again for some time.

That said, what's being achieved with consoles today is more than enough of an argument as to why consoles have retained their identity and relevance while PC is…a bit of a sad mix of mobile quality and console ports these days.

At least I put some effort into my shitty posts about Holla Forums.
QC will make maths and science easier in labs, but it won't see consumer availability for decades, nor will it make every 100000% faster like everyone memes about as the primary application for QCs are unknowns, like solving simultaneous equations (dumbest example can think of). Plus, having a quantum processor means jack shit for your video card.

The man interviewed stated it would take 15-20 years for Quake 2 to be done perfectly, so that's a long way away for more intensive games.
Imagine something like Crysis with ray tracing. That would be a true achievement.

Sadly true

That really 503'd my day.

...

How do you figure?
Sounds like breaking even to me.

They have lost 10 million dollars on this endeavor, and wasted a bunch of time they could have been using on something else. The waste of time is considered a loss, but the theoretical jew bullshit version, like when companies say they "lost" $X in sales to pirates who wouldn't have bought the game/movie anyway.

Elite: Dangerous
Doom 2016
Everspace
Wolfenstein 2014
Serious Sam 3

...

Oh, it's a much bigger loss than that. The production budget was $50 million dollars, but that's not all the money that was spent on the movie. That number doesn't include marketing at all, and movies usually spend anywhere 50% to 200% of their production budget on marketing. On the low end, that's at least another 25 million dollars down the drain. Additionally, the Total Lifetime Grosses number in the link is the box office take, not the studio's take; the movie theatres themselves usually take about a 50% cut of the money on opening night, and the theatre's cut only increases over time. So a movie has to make at least three times, probably more like four times, its production budget to break even. I'm not a movie expert, but I'd estimate the Emoji Movie's losses to be at least 50 million dollars, probably more like 75 million.

Oh please, that's barely a game, not to mention "high end".

...

How embarrassing!

Budgets do not include marketing numbers, and marketing is usually between 30 and 150% of the budget.
Lots of accountants for movie studios obfuscate the numbers so they can make it look like the film is a bigger success, as larger box office numbers make investors and audiences feel safer.

That's why a lot of films that make back 10% of their budget still don't get sequels, despite fans going "But muh box office numbers!"

Power Rangers and Ghostbusters come to mind as films that surpassed budget but not total cost.

I'm merely proving you wrong. You said limiting releases to a single platform is a death sentence. Nintendo has been doing it for decades and thriving. You're retarded.
HOW EMBARASSING!

Well, time to kill myself.

Nigger PC games have tesselation since 2011 or something, only console gamers and poorfags still have to see polygon lines

You don't seem to be able to grasp how money works. Or even math for that matter

Employee salary is part of the movie's budget by the way

you say that and yet last I looked crysis 1 (before the console ports) sold better than crysis 2 which was multiplatform.

What meme is this?

Nintendo makes exclusives, that's their whole appeal. If a third party creator made a game for the Switch, it would probably bomb because it isn't a Nintendo game.

Probably more because Crysis had a reputation for being pretty and Crysis 2 had a reputation for being shit.

I know it will shit on any west lore but did they have Bulk and Skull and was it in Angel Grove?

Nah, Nintendo was always considered an accessory to another system. It's like saying McDonald's has the best hamburgers because they sell the most. Only a retard would buy that.

Kingdom Hearts' rendition is pretty goddamned close and that's impressive, honestly.

Yeah, so everyone in the company got paid the whole time the movie was in production. Then when they made back the movie's budget and arrived at $0 again, they haven't made a profit but assuming they started with 0, they at least paid back their loan and have no debt. So a company full of people made a living for however long it took to make the movie, and then had no debt after. Anything on top of that is profit, which in the USA only lines the CEO's pockets and benefits nobody else.

...

NOBODY EVER SAID NINTENDO WAS THE BEST
NOBODY IS DEFENDING NINTENDO

THE ORIGINAL STATEMENT WAS "RELEASING ON A SINGLE PLATFORM IS A DEATH SENTENCE"
NINTENDO HAS BEEN RELEASING ON A SINGLE PLATFORM FOR 20+ YEARS AND THEY'RE NOT DEAD.

STATEMENT PROVEN WRONG.

Lmao we can barely do Quake.

I wonder if hardware and software sells match what you say.

Nintendo is a publisher that makes games exclusively for their console. They don't make games for anything else, thus is the entire purpose of buying their console. This is called "first party development."

The guys who made Doom do not own a console, so instead they published it for multiple platforms. Making their game available on just one platform may reduce the sales by 50% or more.

Exactly, they haven't made a profit. hens why it's a bomb. Studios have a fucking thing called operating costs you know? In addition they aren't going out to make movies for nothing, that's why there is a "break-even" point in this case 100 million. Do you have brain problems? They teach you this shit in middle school

would have had tessellation in 2002 if nvidia didn't fuck everything up

the sad thing, despite PS4's 2012 laptop cpu/gpu, it has uncharted 4 and horizon invisible walls and they look better than all of that shit.

serious sam 3 is really sad to even mention as being high end by the way. I really despise you steam babies.

Why aren't they calculating the break-even point as the budget of the movie then? Goddamn accountants are fucking stupid. And so are you.

Whew Sonny this is some sure fire autism.

Serious Sam 3 is multi-plat. What distro of Linux are you using, my goon friend?

Nope, no Skull and Bulk, but it was in Angel Grove.

The bonus profits would go towards making more films with bigger budgets which would employ more staff and/or raise salaries of existing staff.

3DS sold 2nd in consoles last gen and is in the top 5 console sales, IIRC.

I wonder who's behind this post.

I personally blame the fanboys who will shit on a game just because it's synonymous with a particular console. It's almost fascinating considering it's almost like clockwork now. The downside is now that certain games can no longer be talked about due to shitposters derailing a thread.

But we already did

feeling insecure today?

The 3DS is currently the best selling "current gen" console actually, but that should come as no surprise since Nintendos strong-suit has always been handhelds

QC is barely even in its infancy, you can't say that it won't be useful across all computing applications 5 decades from now

...

Gee, user, I can't imagine why I think you're a Sonygger from NeoGAF trying to justify your $600 movie player.
Did you buy the Pro, as well?

essentially my philosophy, but my PC is starting to show its age in general applications now, so I'm going to upgrade to ryzen.

very insecure.

>Animation of elastigirl
That would have been so much fun to do.

But I can, because I know what a quantum computer is and isn't better at doing.
And what it's not good at doing is making graphics better. They're used for mathematical applications, so unless you start making all game graphics derived from insanely huge equations and stop using textures, it won't happen.

What did he mean by this?

There is one reason to upgrade your shit. Emulators like being able to run Breath of the Wild on CEMU with a higher resolution than it's original hardware and 4free

I only upgraded because my micro went tits up and died. I figured I might as well treat myself and upgrade my old i3 to something a bit faster. It all worked out in the end, I just rigged the cardboard box into a makeshift case until the actual case came in. It was pretty easy considering everything more or less moved all at once to the new case.

video game graphics are derived from computing mathematical equations, any improvement to computing power allows for improvements in graphical capabilities.

The increased mathematical ability won't fix on-the-fly rendering to some untold level. It will increase, but not as wildly as reddit seems to think on /r/ScienceFeatBillNye

Their primary use is to bring our 3d robo waifus to life

It's not really that simple. Quantum computers aren't used for traditional tasks. Quantum computers today are mainly used to simulate systems with a lot of entropy and inherent stochastic processes. Things that are simply unusable for traditional computing

Well, are you mad?

PositronQuantic brain when?

I understand the point trying to be made here but comparing animated movies to games graphically is and will always be retarded.

LEWD

I jumped the gun and was about to call you a retard.
Thanks for the chuckle.

He's not wrong about God of War, that game looks terrible.

...

I'm not referring to today's quantum computers though, I'm talking about quantum computing many years from now. I find it hard to believe that quantum computing will never be practical for the same applications that use modern computing.

qbits have multiple states as opposed to traditional binary bits. This actually makes them LESS EFFICIENT for general compute tasks vs traditional binary. Not saying it's impossible for a quantum computer to do general math, it's just why the fuck would you when we have shit that does the same job better?

You're talking decades away. They cost however many hundreds of millions of dollars now, and will take even longer to get small enough for commercial use.
By that time, vidya may be dead, or there may be new techniques devised to squeeze power out of current hardware.
Also, remember that even if it gets commercially available, it will take longer for proper adoption; people still aren't buying BluRays as they cost more.

By that time, we'll surely be dead from the nuclear race war coming :^)

CEMU runs like hogshit unless you fiddle with settings and have a good CPU.

Isn't quantum computing the practice of calculating a shit-ton of variables (indeed every possible variable) all at once? That strikes me as translating to an immense amount of CPU horsepower but for specific sets of tasks and one task at a time, all of them mathematical or logistic in nature.

I want to see Sony Pictures crash and burn with no survivors.

No emulator will ever be good out of the box for all games. There are NES games that need fiddling with.
That's a very general idea of what they do, and you're correct that they are only good for specific tasks.
As a general rule that will be disproven in the coming decades: if you don't know what a quantum computer does, you'll never need to use one.

My understanding is the opposite, that qubits can perform multiple calculations simultaneously, making them much more efficient than traditional bits.
singularityhub.com/2017/03/30/this-is-what-makes-quantum-computers-powerful-problem-solvers/

Yes I am talking decades away, but that won't mean it will never happen. hopefully though, if you are correct, vidya will be long dead, and we will too.

I won't pretend I know the answer, since my understanding is very rudimentary, and i am not a quantum physicist. However, from what I've read about quantum computing, it could potentially be used not just for one calculation, but many different calculations at the same time.

The only setting you need to change is enabling the GPUFenceSkip (which literally only takes like 3 seconds of editing a single .ini file) and going to the Nvidia Control Panel to force CEMU.exe to use the dedicated GPU because it fucking doesn't by default for some reason. Other than that the stuttering will go away eventually but if you're impatient there are pre-made shader cache files you can download

On a massive parallel scale, yes but for running general purpose software and your favorite vidya? It will never beat binary. Math guys hate working with qbits over traditional bits, it's the physics guys who want to work with qbits

And adding CEMUhook for the videos.

Toy story looks smooth because they could afford massive amounts of subdivision, which is computationally expensive. They also used raytracing, which allows you to define an object composed of primitive shapes with perfect roundness (as it is defined as a mathematical function rather than points in space).
The thing that is really fucking shit about what I can see there about Kingdom Hearts 3 is that they're using subsurface scattering. In the movies, Woody looks like he's a wooden toy covered in paint. In Kingdom Hearts 3, they use their normal skin shader on him, so he looks like he has real skin. There's no specular reflection, there aren't any hard shadows, everything is very soft and lit in a very soft way. It doesn't look right on something that is supposed to be a toy.

Never is a strong word, I know that it is highly impractical today, and it may not become practical for another 50 years, but i find it unlikely that it will never surpass traditional computing.

Lighting and bumpmaps > polycount
Prove me wrong, nerds.

Super Mario Run and Pokemon Go say hello.

and specmaps

Yes, but that user was complaining that it took a lot of "fiddling" with configs to make it playable, which is untrue unless you have a particularly weak rig. AFAIK exzap the lead CEMU dev uses a GTX 7 series and a n Ivy Bridge
The laws of physics will get in the way. Working with qbits requires things like supercooling the "chip" because of the nature of working with quantum particles

those are new developments tho, since they both came out last year

meant to also reply

???

I'll grant that supercooling a chip is a large impracticality, but we may also discover new techniques for circumventing decoherence that would make the technology more practical.

NIGGERS

Those games are both only on a single platform though. Or did you take it to mean that every game Nintendo has released for the last 20 years was on 3DS? No, he was just saying that Nintendo doesn't make multiplat games.

Most of the best games ever are all exclusives for one system or another.

Learning curve for that is pretty steep.

Kill yourself, Intel shill.

You sound like a retarded Holla Forums commie.

You can send the computer on a satellite in orbit. Supercooling is a lot more easier in space.

Nigger, what the fuck kind of bizarro world do you think this is where usury doesn’t exist? Even if they earn everything they borrowed, THEY’RE STILL IN DEBT.

Peoples can't be that stupid

...

you are clearly stupid and didnt read the thread question.

what the fuck does ray tracing have with jews you dolt

the ear thing is there because for a video game you need to use Poly's, that is 3 sided triangles, but for a movie or video you don't need to use this are you are able to use 4 sided squares that are able to be smooth out more.

a video game does things in real time while a video is pre-rendered. while the pixar 1995 may look better somewhat it took like 4 years of rendering to get it to look like that.

Quantum computing will never land into some average person's home. its practically useless for any application that doesn't involve huge number crunching such as traffic data, weather patterns, and other things you could do in real time. There are better computers that will be made in the future, such as biological computers, laser computing, holographic computing.

Huge numbercrunching such as realtime raytracing?

user…

raytracing is retarded. there are better methods out there.

It still looks the best

...

...

Games these days look better than a lot of the pre-rendered shit back then.

Look for the cutscenes of Jumping Flash on the PS1, they still look great

Uh oh, Sora better watch out or his kawaii cock could be next.

im still waiting for games to at least reach this level

That looks shitty, along with the other 1990s CGI.

Disagree

fucking this
we'll never get the level of the old renders of donkey kong country

You are objectively wrong
There's hundreds of games that look better than that

This thread is full of nothing but plebs with no taste.

How longer till we get amazing graphics like embed related?

I just want the original trilogy but running everything real time.

there are?

yes

What is good about that CGI you dumb nigger? Do you really think today's real time CGI isn't better than that? Just because you're used to low res console trash does not mean graphics haven't far surpassed the ultra simple CGI of the 90s.

Wow calm down cowboy

i still don't like the donkey kong country returns models compared to the CGI renders

I'm honestly not sure if this is bait or if you're being serious

i'm serious, i like the old renders a lot more.
what do i gain from making you believe i like something outdated?

He has his own opinion, what a shocker I know!

Too busy with "realism"

Because it's funny to fuck with people?
I mean seriously, how is 90s CGI better?
Do you mean that you just prefer the weird style Rare renders have? I can understand that

Yeah but this isn't up to opinion

Stop breathing.

its not "objectively" better, i just like it because it has its own charm to it.

Okay that I can understand

He never said it was better tho neither did I, just that I liked it better. Smartass.

yeah but this guy did and you agreed with him

Oh man I fucked up SHIIIT

nu DK looks like souless shit

Sad thing is this is the average quality of a shitpost in year 2017 of our Lord.

...

I see what you did there

Agreed, the gameplay is a god send though. All we need are rares character designers. That's it

mp4?

They'll probably auction it off after spider-man homecoming 2 comes out.

You're looking in the wrong place for impressive graphics.
Square is notorious for unoptimized shit, with the only exception being Kingdom Hearts DDD which nintendo did a shitload of optimization work for the cutscenes.

Sure bud, enjoy your high quality black backdrop and occasional planet and asteroid field that copy pasted 10000000000000 Times.
That fucking game need more content and less about grinding, i can';t imagine people who fucking grinded for a conda.

...

I guess we should for Nintendo for impressive graphics then?

It depends.
It's more. "We can make very complicated models work very efficiently with low power hardware" than "we can make impressive models"

Not saying I disagree, but consider that's a promo still shot. They certainly took the time to set the angle, the lights, each element in the picture to make it look great. Unlike some random screenshot.

and what the fuck does raytracing have with intel

Good thing Nintendo games consistently play as 60FPS.

Oh wait…

Not all their games do, but Nintendo has more games running at 60fps than any other developer I can think of.

Care to make a list then?

they do on pc

Mario Kart (Wii U and Switch, Switch version is 1080p)
Smash Bros on Wii U
Super Mario 3D World on Wii U
Splatoon 2 on Switch
Arms on Switch

Most of the Switch library (not just Nintendo games) and by that I mean more than three quarters, run at 60fps, although many of them are smaller indie titles at the moment.
The Wii U also has more games running at 60fps than the PS4 or Xbone (or did before Christmas last year when I checked), though most of those are at 720p instead of full 1080p.

That's not a large list of games.
videogamerplus.com/2014/09/60-fps-native-1080p-ps4-games-list.html

PS4 has far more games running on 60fps.

Immersion ruined.

Biocomputing is now emerging as a midway alternative for these reasons.

Mine was not an exhaustive list of all of Nintendo's 60fps games. And you'll notice that your list is not limited to one developer.

but he is right, how can a consol be abble to do it ? a game is 1st developed for consol and then adapted to PC if they apear in both platform

edgy reddit teen spotted
please go back
quantum computing is shit for gaming because a quantic computer do not work for this purpose. you should learn about it before posting shit.
qubit are better only for certain, verry specific tasks; and Gaming isn t one of it.

you could only come to that conclusion if you are blind and had a 5 pound brain tumor growing in your skull, yes

Most of the NES, SNES, Wii and Wii U libraries.

i cant even get the game to start past the "press a to start"

Ray tracing helps things not look like shit, never mind Scooby Dooby Kong.

Theaters take a cut

This looks exactly like Cycles, and probably uses the same rendering routine. The grain is killing me a bit though.

Understandable but feels weird at the same time. Also in did you pick a render in which his hand clipped through his gun holster on purpose?

It's called 3rd party support.

That's the frame of the bed.

x = offline rendering quality
y = online rendering quality
Does there exist a constant c such that x + c = y, for all years from say 1975 to present?

hnngh

Try harder.

I love reading those 20 year old shitposts.

really rustles my jimmies. There's Planet Coaster but I don't have the patience anymore that I had as a kid, literally the only thing I play with pretty graphics that I couldn't before is modded STALKER.

Go back to reddit and stay there!

How? Fluffy animals? Kung Fu Panda from Deamworks did that long before then.

A better example is The Good Dinosaur as that at least had a specific style to it.

I know this feel.

I think that the stylistic differences between Rare DK and Retro DK are clearly visible just by looking at the barrel cannons.
>Retro DK is more loose with lighter colors and simpler, less detailed shapes. Barrel cannons squish and stretch when firing and they all have arrows for some reason
These style differences are basically true for the entirety of both games, except for Tropical Freeze's fur-rendering which looks great and would fit the original style perfectly.

apologies for the Ecco Jr comparison. Tropical Freeze is actually a good game

Good Dinosaur had a terrible story, it barely felt like a Pixar movie. At least Zootopia had its enjoyable moments despite the second part of the movie feeling rushed as fuck.

Shark Tail was the beginning of the end for CGI movies, everything looks the fucking same now. I think the last one I bothered watching was Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and they retroactively ruined it with a sequel.

I have read about quantum computing and I learned that qubits can be used to perform multiple calculations simultaneously. This will improve a computer's ability to perform logic operations, which will improve the computer's ability to run software, such as video games Please explain to me why you think that quantum computing will be useless.

Ok.

I can play it on my shitty, ancient, prebuilt.

That only shows how well optimized it is, user! :*)

Have you maxed out Crysis yet?

Get the fuck out you autistic fox news-tier newfag

Nigger, it was a western with dinosaurs.

Nigga what? Nick and judy are the most irritating sacks of shit and they never get better because Disney raped the actual plot that involved Nick being tortured his whole life and Judy being an overly assertive cop douchebag who eventually sympathizes with nick. What is left after that raped storyline is nick being an asshole for no fucking reason, judy being an arrogant twat for no fucking reason, neither one of them getting better, the plot being ass backwards as fuck, and the only people defending it are either the retards yelling
or

It's shit, stop defending it.

the original toy story graphics remind me of FNAF in terms of old fashioned 3D

I hope somebody got fired for that blunder

Retro DK is better than Rare DK

It looks fine to me
I'm OK with graphics stalling for a while if it means they're gonna focus on the gameplay, pacing, quality control and music more. Art style is more important than graphics anyway. Stop pushing your polygon count dick measuring propaganda

It's called an irrelevant factor, nigger.

Scott Anderson sounds like the common Holla Forumsirgin
Outrageously angry response to a calm post, pretensions to know the future of technology, technobabble to appear smart. He may have been right that bilinear filter wasn't available at the time on PC but the whole posts is exaggerating.

Open wide, whore.

Consoletards then, consoletards now.
This kind of stuff is why I'm glad companies don't listen to their customers, because then they'd make 720p 30fps panels for eternity.

So do I. That's why I'm glad I put a folder together of them.

Yeah, you can kind of see proto-Holla Forumsirgins amongst them, right down to the shitposting and dislike of the industry. Main difference being the forced usernames.

Polite sage because off-topic. I just like having an excuse to post this stuff.

I'll tell you a sad story that I swear happened

I don't know, I think someone at Microsoft might have taken note of these guys (namely the notion of consoles as a "convergence appliance").

I hope you lose hours of sleep over this

They're lucky I didn't empty the place myself.
I live in south america, try 30$.

They deserve it for not locking up the place

Movie Theatres take half of the box office profit, and studios typically spend two to three times their budget on marketing and advertising. Most hollywood movies nowadays need to make around four times their budget just to break even.

The retardedness, man.

Why is every nuDoom apologist such an awful poster?

They're always todd-drones.
Toddposting was a mistake.

i want a game with reboot graphics

...

...

You don't need to do raytracing for realtime GI, embed related uses voxels and instead of computing the spread of light between frames it computes it over time so its much more reasonable for performance. The downside/upside is the light takes time to propagate but the effect is pretty neat.

In the end it's better than current lighting and can be dealt with.
Like how before shadows 3D games just baked dark spots into textures, they weren't real shadows but they were better than nothing.

;^)

wew

dabba dee dabba daa

Theatres make almost nothing from ticket sales. They make money from concessions.

Summer, remove yourself.

What about inside out
It seems to me like I remember all the clever gags and shit rather than the actual story of the movie

If DKC did made its graphics look like that in a 2D game using 3D models, why can't game developers use 4D models to make 3D games look better?

Yes, though it's more like a shitty fishing town with no personality.

Nah. There's one ginger cunt who has like 2 lines and gets BTFO in the trailer, and that's your lot. I guess a pair of incompetent bullies making the cast remotely likable would throw off the whole "but the rangers are the REAL misfits" vibe they did nothing with.

Banks as the snarling, gold munching, corrupted Green Ranger Rita was fucking great, and every shot of her is kind of sexy. Absolutely nothing else of worth is in that two-plus hour clusterfuck.

Polite sage, just don't waste your time unless cheesy soul eating witches dressed like GWAR rejects are your fetish.

Fuck me dude

This should be a new banner.

I'd be okay with that too, if they were actually doing that, but we all know they aren't.

one of these games is 20 years older than the other, can you guess which one?

that's pretty much every 90's game.

at least cutscene wise.

no 90's game has those graphics, unless it;s prerendered like myst

name one nigger

chris brown

And here I thought I was suffering.

You can say that again

THIS. I'M CUMMING RIGHT NOW.

They make a lot of that marketing budget back on licensing to merchandise though.

On a visual level we surpassed Toy Story years ago, on a technical level no, because we don't focus on that sort of shit, a single frame isn't just the fucking ear of a character, or reflection on a floor.

Can this discussion please just die already, it's painful to see this thread.

TELL THAT TO MY POINTY POLYGONNED ASS, user

DK returns looked like it was a 3ds game, all of those 3d moments where it hit the screen and the cinematic zoom-in. I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

It was ported to the 3ds a few years after the Wii version.

For the top row, the lighting, shaders, and materials from KH3 all kick the shit out of Toy Story 1's version of the room. Look at the wooden headboard on the bed on the right, it's litterally got zero lighting and just a flat diffuse texture applied to it with no shading whatsoeve. There's also no Ambient occlusion, and just in general everything looks flat. KH3 looks way better.

For the bottom row, yes, woody's ear has more visible polygon edges in Kh3, but the image doesn;t circle all of the shitty shading/normals errors to the back of woody's neck and jawline on the right in the toy story 1 image, it also ignores the more visible polygon edges along his noise, and all the raytracing noise artifiacts by his brow and in the background. Again, overall, KH3 looks way better.

And if you look in anything in toy story that's NOT andy's room or that's NOT the main cast of toy's, you'll see toy story has aged like absolute ass (pic related) and we had games that looked better then it overall as early as mid 7th gen in the late 2000's even if they might have had inferior polycounts. Digital foundry has like a 20 min breakdown that shows how much better KH3 looks in most regards aside from minor bullshit that doens't really matter in the big picture of things: youtube.com/watch?v=tkDadVrBr1Y

t. somebody who actually knows a few things about 3d software

pretty much any given 8th gen and late 7th gen game that's not super stylized looks way better then those 90's renders, pics related.

I really like.

How this comment is spaced.

I wonder where you learned to space a comment like that.

when you do a double space after barely considered 3 lines of text.

Reddit spacing is every single line of text, not every few lines of text.

Looks likes barely one 1 line of text on my screen friend.
Unless somehow you think like 7 small words a on fresh line constitutes the need for double spacing.

real people don't have visible corners and polygons poking out of them. until games have true perfect smoothing then they don't look better than CGI,

that rachat and clank screen is trash, the bg is literally the same shapes copy+pasted 100 times

Real people don't run around in sick leather jackets waging a john woo inspired slow motion one man war on crime and a shadow goverment either.
Real people

We're getting there.
home.otoy.com/render/brigade/

Each of those are groups of sentences you gigantic fucking faggot.

I'm here to rip on wolfenstein. It wasn't high end, I still saw many jaggies

wow shadows really did improve, thanks RAM

finally a chance to post this

...

...

This is why it is called reddit-spacing. Lurk moar and acclimate yourself to the community before posting instead of trying to be an attention-grabbing special snowflake posting in ways that piss people off. People don't like it because you are artificially inflating your post size to attract more attention, and when people yell at you for it you get all defensive and act superior. You know who else does that? Tripfags and avatarfags.
I understand that it is easier to type your post that way, but you should remove the spaces once you are all done and ready to post.

No, the top priority is not the game's graphics. It the trailer's graphics.

I thought they lowered the success of movies by moving the money made to other less well selling movies under the same company. I heard they do this to avoid paying out more of the profits to people who worked on the movie that get royalties. I also, heard no Star Wars movies ever made a "profit" for these reasons.

There is a difference between separating paragraphs and fucking reddit spacing where every single fucking line is double spaced. Every two to three lines is not reddit spacing you fucking newfag.

No it isn't?

You're the only one getting pissed off at that in this case. Ence all the peoples pointing it to you. Your autism is off the charts.

A good enough game sells entire hardware systems. If you weren't a fucking faggot shill, you'd know that.

...

You do not seem to understand and are instead arguing semantics. it doesn't matter if it is one sentence or ten, it is still going to bring excess attention to you, piss people off, and derail threads. Again, its about acclimating to the community, not about being proper English formatting or not. It is just something people who do it should avoid and people who get upset over it should try to tolerate. whether you, I, Mark, or anyone else likes it or not, this is just how it is.

There are IDs here. I am not the other poster.

There are people who unironically like Todd? Our Lord and Savior blessed be He.

...

That's not even reddit spacing.

Reddit spacing is how i am writing now.

I press Enter key twice, after each sentence.

On reddit it might look nice, because of it's formatting, but not here.

That's not even reddit spacing you colossal faggots.

Real people also don't have all the errors listed in the larger post you responded to. The game had less of those errors than the movie, and is thus more realistic. Games can and do look better than old CGI.

>develpoer

Can you count nigger?

...

I copy pasted from user's post.

(heiled)

wait. No I didn't. I need to go the fuck to sleep.

(checked)
Sleep before you fumble even harder, user.

I'd sleep, but I'm addicted to the memes.

Paragraphs isn't reddit spacing you idiot its hitting enter after each sentence. Even on here walls of text are undesirable.

If you were following the conversation, you'd know that user was making a case against what is in the picture being labelled as reddit spacing.

Well I wasn't, but its not like nothing has ever been said twice around here.

I do it in Revit just fine

PROMOTIONS

Until the PC release

The real question is: when is Disney finally going to release the source code for Toy Story?

how much code would there even be? isn't toy story just….. y'know, animation? they should release the actual assets instead. like the models and enviroments and the motion capture files or what ever

You are retarded and need to leave.

Bethesda games Pixar level of detail

You can try renderman for free:

I think graphics fidelity is bullshit. graphics have gotten sharper but the gameplay is only getting dumber.

Mechwarrior three had a AWESOME combat system. With a customizable mech And ways to modify your mech's individual parts. Games have gotten stupider and lazier with the promise of better graphics while essentially making the games about squares fighting other sqaures on 2d planes. Hell duke nukem 3d had 3d fighting spaces and took 3d space into account for player versus player. even alot of 3d shooters today fail to do this. Graphics have gotten better but gameplay backslides. There are exceptions but for the most part. MMOs are stale not because of WOW but because Blizzard sold itself for more sheckles. I never understood why blizzard sold out? What did they gain like bioware? was it a forced takeover Did they need a larger bdsm dungeon then the 8000 foot one they could afford? I never understood why bioware and blizzard sold out. Anyone actully know?

because 100 years from now, a console will be much more powerful

You make an interesting point, user

not so my friend does metro 2033 not count that was 2010 I think

when vidya studios get the same budget as hollywood mega blockbusters

quantum computing doesn't do what you think it does
it will utterly transform cryptography but be almost unnoticed in most other areas
