Agreed that Twatter is pure cancer. In fact, I would describe it as more responsible than any other single factor for the rise of SJWs and other outrageist blackmail swarms.
It is specifically designed in such a way that celebrities, large businesses/organizations/etc, and their fans/customers are drawn onto it by the presence of journalists.
Then the supposedly "informal" tone produces faux pas, and finally the ultra-short format ensures they're in readily misinterpretable soundbyte format ready for being taken out of context.
Finally the structure of Twatter allows these soundbytes to be almost automatically abused by follower-linked groups of zealots and gullible morons that are microscopic in absolute terms but seemingly huge relative to the target to screech autistically and stir up a storm in the same retwat teacup as some journalists.
As for the journalists (and PR/HR reps in symbiosis with them), the entire thing is a giant scam. Twatter has yet to turn a profit, its supposed involvement in mass phenomena from consumer fads to political revolutions is completely fake, and the overwhelming majority of its supposed users are bots, and the "business" itself is being kept alive almost entirely through VC subsidies (I've even seen a common suggestion by some of its true believers that it should be taxpayer subsidized as a public service!):

Facebook is cancer, sure, but at least it's a real thing that real people use. Twatter, on the other hand, is either a coincidental brainfart of the tech bubble with a few deep-pocketed fans, or one of the most blatant psyops campaigns in internet history.
If Twatter died, no profits would be sought by a replacement, no users would mourn it, it would simply vanish without a ripple. And all the cancer it has spawned alongside it.
Interesting coincidence: The other primary stewpot of SJW insanity, Tumblr? Also unprofitable and suspiciously propped-up:
