I'm thinking something, but I don't know for sure. Y'see...

I'm thinking something, but I don't know for sure. Y'see, I'm pretty sure the SNES Mini has the exact same hardware that the NES Mini, because that would make it cheaper to produce. If not identical, I'm sure it's not too different.
So here's what I think: since the NES Mini can be hacked and you can play Super Nintendo ROMs in it, it won't be long before people will add to it the Star Fox 2 ROM, proving the whole thing is a scam.
So, will people who are willing to mod their NES Mini effectively have a SNES Mini without having to buy it?

You answered your own question.

That was my feeling when it was announced. It's going to be pretty special if it's found out to be the same shit in a different happy meal toy.
I have a feeling they're the type that will buy the retarded thing just for the shell and controller.

The only people who are going to buy it are dumbass nostalgia-goggled normalfags who couldn't mod a console with a verbose tutorial and a year to do it. And people like me who are preordering them in bulk to scalp idiot goyim God I love being a kike

Here's another question I have: will the Star Fox 2 ROM run on any regular SNES emulator?

As someone with the actual original hardware I love when companies release these re-makes because it just increases the value of the originals

I'm not sure that's how it works, bruh.

Have you noticed any padding on your walls?

He ate it.

That's exactly how it works. These hardware remakes raise the value of the originals because it draws interest to them again. Even normalfags would probably rather have the original hardware than the imitation hardware.

only enthusiasts and jews give a shit about original hardware

I can't wait to see how close the star fox 2 rom they insert is to the one that is out online right now.

I'm both, and I can take or leave original hardware. I'm a bit of a collector, but I don't demonise clones and ROMs, or any kind of piracy. I'd be a hypocrite, since I've played many ROMs.

...

I'm not the sneaky scheming kind, though.

Thats exactly what a scheming one would say.

there is no such thing as a good jew
all jews must be exterminated

I guess. I'm not that, though.
I'm an atheist, too. Also, I don't care for any tradition.

...

It's gonna be quite different, because the developer said a while ago that the game fans have patched is not even 40% what they had.
Of course, if the game had leaked at 80% or more, Nintendo would release a version with more things in it added during the last year just so they can say "see? You've never played the REAL game!"
In fact I'm sure they've added new content that wasn't in their original design of the game back in the 90s, which is a good thing (I won't complain about more content) but some people do good things for bad reasons.

Just make a raspberry pi emulator box retard.
Alternatively
Get a Tinkerboard.
It's basically a raspberry pi but stronger.

Paste that somewhere else, this ain't no SNES Mini general thread. You'll trigger no one here.

Shit if I remember right, someone cloned wii accessory ports for the tinkerbox

I'm just saying
Op is asking a stupid question to begin with.
It wouldn't be worth destroying the "Collector's Value" if you already managed to snag a NES Classic edition just to flash the SNES Classic edition OS onto the NES Classic.

An this is even including

Considering it works on SNESoid for my phone I think that it a pretty solid "yes". I'll upload the rom to mega and link it here as soon as I get home.

But I mean, will the ROM from the SNES Mini be a proprietary sort of thing? I'm sure they can be converted to regular ROMs, but also I'm pretty sure those tiny consoles don't run regular .NES or .SMC files like the ones we download.

pass = truebenis

Yeah, nice try.
It's CP guys! Don't go to that link.

Don't be a jackass, I wouldn't upload CP It's dolphin porn

Those are clearly underage dolphins.

...

Video Games board. No CP, bro.

whooooosh

so who here is ready when the REAL SF2 rom gets dropped?

Hell Ive got a cart on standby

Holy shit you guys are paranoid and gullible. The link here is a legit SF2 rom. I was joking when I said it was dolphin porn. It's less than a megabyte for Christ's sake

I'm sure there's no way at all that Nintendo could be misrepresenting the truth in order to better market a twenty year old ROM. Better make sure you pre order now, you wouldn't want to miss out on the chance to buy a box for the sake of a single game, goyim.

...

How fucking dumb do you have to be to buy either of these things?

How fucking dumb do you have to be to play video games?

Supposedly the version of Starfox 2 on the SNES mini is a "complete" version of the game that is different from the patched ROM that people thought was mostly complete. I'm curious to see if there is any actual difference or if Nintendo is just bullshitting to get people to bite on the console they won't make enough of anyway.

I kind of suspect this myself. I think if anything the only difference is going to be the missing multiplayer.

They're supposed to be functioning collectibles. Nintendo never advertised them towards consumers as the most practical or cheapest way to play retro titles on your HDTV.

It's fucking stupid when threads come up like this and people start posting screengrabs of their ROM folders or their Rasberry Pi setup and type "HURDUUR NINTENDO IZ SO DUMB AND EVERY1 WHO BUYS THIS IZ DUMB AND I AM SMART!"

Hello, retards

I'm grateful for Nintendo making these things and grossly under-producing them so I can make easy money off of retarded hipsters and thirsty nintoddlers such as yourself. I made about $2k off the NES mini last year, but all the bad seller ratings with walls of text from butthurt nintendrones crying over not being able to afford one at my prices were truly priceless. Save your shekels, you don't want to miss out on this amazing collectible!

This all is just a ploy to further the Nintendo brand by:
-first, creating demand
-second, shorting demand
-third, ending production before they've met demand
By limiting production Nintendo creates a secondary market in which no MSRP exists and resellers are free to charge what they want.
Nintendo is only abusing consumers with their behavior, by banking on successful IP's and bringing little to the table. Oh, you redesigned the system to be smaller and be a single-board system? How cute!
It's gotten to the point that to smart consumers this seems truly outrageous. How little respect they have for their audience (which mind you, is of all ages) is laughable. Nintendo even got caught downloading ROMs from the internet and charging customers to pay a unfair price for their IP. To give Nintendo money for anti-consumer behavior is something that only encourages this throughout the industry and in the end harms the industry. What else would someone expect from Nintendo, the Apple of gaming.

So how would I go about building one in its original form factor? Also are these emulated or are they running "naively" so there are no emulation errors?

Excellent theory, genius!

DON'T YOU GET IT YOU FUCKING MORON?
NINTENDO ARE THE SCALPERS!

The NES and SNES minis are phone-tier PCs shoved inside console-shaped cases running ROMs on an emulator fam.

I mean come on, look at the big picture. You think Nintendo gives a shit about some system they'll make jack shit on? No, they don't. It builds Nintendo as a brand.

Looks like you took your eyes off the big picture a long time ago.

How's the 90s treating you?

yeah, and my mother grew up playing Atari but that doesn't mean I did.
Just because Nintendo was top of the line in the 80's and 90's doesn't mean they are considered top nowadays.
Also, Nintendo restarted a industry but has done more in that time in an attempt to retard the industries development in order to maintain their status. Maybe you didn't get the memo, but Nintendo isn't doing so hot now.

You haven't been keeping up with the latest hardware sales trends, have you?

...

This hurts me. I just want to play old snes games without issues of emulation with good old quality controllers with my friends again.

Least I know I can probably make something that looks as good but functions better.

Now, do you consider 14 to be larger than 60?

Playing on original hardware is just better (And in many game/console cases, the only way), but fuck yeah I'm gonna get a flash cart or add a modchip. Fuck paying Good Goy prices for 20 year old games. Consoles are relatively cheap, games are not.

Hey, Sonygger, look to the immediate right of your precious Piss4 bar there.
65+14>60+16

The one where Nintendo was recently outsold by the Vita of all fucking things, and currently struggles with serious manufacturing issues? The switch isn't so much a "hit" as much as Nintendo isn't coming close to meeting demand. It's just as much of a nogames machine as any of the other shit consoles. People are whining about virtual console games for the damn thing because they're all bored to death of Zelda: Skyrim and Mario Kart 8: Revengence.

SD2SNES was one of the best purchases I made in recent years. Just be warned, it can't play Super FX or SA1 chip games.

65 is bigger than 60, isn't it?

Also, a quick Google search will show that the Switch is still lighting the charts on fire. So far, 4.7 million Switches have sold worldwide. The PS4 as of this year has sold 5.7 million. It wont be before long before sales are in parity or surpasses the PS4 in the near future.

Do the math retard

You're legit gonna cannibalize a $90 Yoshi's Island for a meme like Star Fox 2?

Not if the thing intends to run SuperFX1/2 games at decent framerates.without breaking the games in half, hten again they didn't really care for the NES mini so why would they care for this one.

Could be some other SuperFX2 game like DOOM, no one is gonna cry if you trash a SNES DOOM cart.

Most Starfox 2 carts are made from Stunt Race FX, which you can find for under $5.

I guess tomorrow I'll have to sign up for accounts at a few places.

Mate the rom will be taken from it and made available to us

Probably, I also like the novelty of the thing and would mind spending the normal amount on it. One can only hope there's a better distribution system worked out this time around. Somehow Amazon managed to do it with Amiibos a while back when scalpers were hitting those pretty hard.
I suppose the worst case scenario is I'm not able to get it and nuNintendo doesn't get their money, so a small win there

That's now what a scam is.

I already said it, I'm a Jew. Kinda.
Am I still a Jew if I don't believe in any of the theological claims and also reject the traditions, plus I ain't sneaky or scheming? Genetically I am a Jew, of course.
Is there such a thing as trans-goy?

Also, what you said does not contradict what I said. We seem to be similarly cynical. I'm absolutely sure Nintendo is getting a good chuckle at their success marketing a thing they already sold last year with the addition of a game they didn't sell twenty years ago.

then you are scum

Gas yourself, Shlomo

Why they made the burger nes huge and the nip famicon small?

...

You're getting the oven my man

fuck you, every time I download those things hoping for the actual dolphin porn I get what was actually supposed to be in there, give me the real dolphin porn for once

Even 50 bucks smartphones are powerful enough to run any NES and SNES game.

Unless Nintendo employs Tyson down the street who robbed literally every store there is and has been advertising NINDENTO SWITCHED $500.
No, nintendo has nothing to gain from scalper bullshit

...

No one likes to see someone do it for free.

You're Jewer than I am if you go the scalping route, my friend.
Who's the real Jew here? Not me. Not me…
Don't tell my mom I said that, though. Don't wanna break her heart.

Those are videos of underage dolphins. They're dolphin eggs, even. Having dolphin sex with adult dolphins. Not cool.

Sorry, your nose and blood is a scarlet letter. Enjoy the oven moshie.

I'm sorry but I agree with the jew: you're a scalper and that makes you the real Jewish Question.

who the fuck is the jew then

...

>>>/ovens/

it looks kinda cute

sure why not? just as there are black people who arent niggers, or people who are not of jewish descent who behave as the worst of jews

Why don't buy one Raspberry Pi already, they have 9000 games, from Atari to Play1

The ROM we have now is based on a buggy unfinished version of the game that modders patched in order to be more playable.

The new version is supposedly an official 1.0 version that's obviously not exactly the same.

You are only a "jew" because you LIKE being jewish, Mark. It has nothing to do with you birthright nor your religion.

Because the company is run by SJWs?

I don't like being a Jew, it's just something I happen to be.
I know, right? Heck, we have one of those sneaky fucks in this very thread, up there in the form of Scalperfuck.
However, those things are not videogames and they will derail the thread.
Here, this is a videogame and won't derail nothing.

Miller

One can be a capitalist without being Juden

call me when people can play N64 roms on the NES miniscam so I can laugh with the entirety of my being.

Apparently, emulation of N64 on the NES Mini is pretty good, and improving.
So your dream is already true. Happy?

getting there

Oy Vey, you're not supposed to tell them.
Do you want another Shoa?

No, YOU are the retard. It's not worth it to pay for the hardware and peripherals to make something suited only for NES and SNES games. You can get a pawn shop laptop for around the same price that you would for the Pi, case, and all the rest of the stuff that goes into it, and it's likely to be at least four times as powerful with the perk that you can use it as a laptop. Maybe you just wanna get the board and a controller on its own? The laptop would still be a better value.

I think the point is that with it you can emulate NES, SNES,and also do much more things.

I understand the point, but people think it's a good idea to go this route when it's a much better investment to get a laptop from the last decade to do a hell of a lot more. Even some shitty Minibook is more powerful than the current RapPi line, and those things were terrible when they were first released. Because nobody wants to purchase those things, they end up sitting at pawn shops for a long time – I bought one for $20 when a power failure nuked my tower.

Exactly
Get an OrangePi PC and install RetrorangePi on that thing

I won't lie, I'll buy it.

I wanna fuck that.

...

But you must not! It's a child!

I may buy one just for the cred. Am I a hipster?

Nintendo uses standard ROM formats for their virtual console games with the ines header and everything. Supposedly they even grabbed some of the game roms off emulation sites.

Fucking idiots, the lot of them.

It'd be more worth your time to pick up a garage-sale NES or a third-party repro system if that's what you're after, the Mini things are intended for collectors or a stocking-stuffer for your dipshit grandkids

Yes, it'll make for a great gift for some little kiddies I know and may or may not want to finger in the smoothcunny.
