Why Maoism is Dope

jiminykrix.wordpress.com/2016/09/14/what-maoism-has-to-offer-the-world-and-why-so-many-former-non-communists-think-its-dope/

Thoughts? He makes a decent argument.

Literally the opening paragraph, and I know his analysis is going to be pure idpol

COIDPOL please leave.

he's right about the Panthers

the most successful communist revolutions in the world right now are all Marxist-Leninist-Maoist revolutions. the revolution in the Philippines is such a massive force in the country that the government recently unilaterally declared a ceasefire for a little while.

additionally, the most theoretically advanced and sharpest revolution in the world, the people’s war in India, is also steadily gaining ground. if you look at the maps, it’s important to understand that they’ve recently pivoted toward the cities to better take advantage of the trend of the increasing importance of cities in that country’s economy, not suffered some great defeat.

there’s also the fact that the one of the most advanced communist movements in a part of the world that resembles OUR situation, the DHKP-C in Istanbul, is heavily inspired by Mao, very much engaged in the methods of meeting material needs while conducting political education, which has helped them produce areas in urban neighborhoods where the cops and soldiers fear to go, to steadily expand outward from.

So successful they can't win. Noice

that's like saying the Chinese Communists can't win in 1935

...

So you're hoping the Soviet Union will invade India and Turkey and hand over the northern half of those countries to these Maoists?

This guy is literally a Reddit tankie.

It's not that is that those groups have absolutely no chance of success. The NPA in the Philippines has been active since 1969. I thin the naxalites since about 2000. Naxalites have been losing influence. Also in turkey kek just useless. Whether i want it or not is irrelevant. Stop praising these groups who will never win. stop the larping.

oh ok, just lay down and let porky fuck you

No but revolting at the wrong time won't work. The naxalites are mainly to defend peoples land from exploitation which is good no doubt just like the zapatistas but they won't take over the country.

Doesn't the whole Mass Line concept presuppose that the communists already have significant influence? I imagine that if you asked around where I live, people would primarily be pissed that a government-sponsored gas company is causing earth quakes and property damage by exploiting the local gas deposits for its own profit at no benefit to the people here. What is my hypothetical small Maoist party going to do against that?

Just LARP like all the other first world maoists.

Yeah, so white-supremacist that it discriminates in favor of black people through affirmative action.

Who talks like this?

There is some interesting stuff here though. Is it true that the Naxalites are gaining ground?

Yeah, and wrong about almost everything else.

Nah quite the opposite.

Seems to me like they're getting dumpstered. His "T-they're just losing on purpose to focus on the cities!" spiel strikes me as a load of bullcrap considering it's a deeply rural movement.

Naxalites are doing some of that 8d chess i've been hearing about

Show them how socialism can overcome it

I think third worldism is kind of silly but Jason occasionally makes a good point.

MLM is legit, Third Worldism isn't

From the snippets I've been catching the Indian government has been cracking down hard on the Naxalites and the "legitimate" side of the movement is being undermined by parliamentarian "reformists."

MLM ignores Third Worldism. It's when Mao strayed right in his older days that he came up with it.

stopped reading there

Didn't read the article but I would not be surprised if many non-coms think Maoism is cool. It's literally the most eclectic ideology to ever call itself Leninist and it's ultra-democratist tendencies is lowest common demnominator stuff.

He's wrong about the Panthers, it's not a white supremacist media that's smeared them, it's a capitalist one.

surprise surprise

Adds up.

...

...

literally never posted on any leftist subleddits

You can't complain about non-arguments when all you've done is call someone a racist.

Dank "I'm not from reddit" maymay, reddit.

if you don't think racism was a part of the way the Panthers were treated, you're being deliberately ignorant

plenty of other leftist groups that haven't been the victim of such rapid repression

...

The topic wasn't the Panthers, dumbass. It was the alleged 'white-supremacist' nature of the education system.

i'm not american so I can't say for sure but america does seem to still have a problem with racism and supremacy

where do all the racist cops come from?

The academy

and it's racism which keeps it intact
