It's decent and not better than your average musou. Sure you do move faster than most musou but it lacks features that would be really nice. It really feels like you vs the world even if you have commanders. Your commanders just defend their post and will lose most of the time. Instead of getting commands for bases and such, you simply get passives on your character that doesn't really change the gameplay much. 1 skill is completely necessary to even standing a chance in hard mode which is a skill that makes it so you gain more attack with the more kills you have. It doesn't help that you have Dynasty Warriors movesets in a game where you have enough buttons to have a normal moveset. So a lot of the more situational attacks like projectiles or powerful attacks are locked behind X number of normal attacks which barely do any damage to begin with. Also about the main boss you fight. You had to fight her not once, but 3 times and they were all the same fight. There's no excuse for that. How is this supposed to be fun? In the main story you can at least switch to your other general but you get no choice to use any of the other generals on your team.

Story is waifuwars with 4 endings and yes, the final ending is a harem ending. It's sometimes absurdly silly like turning a space martian, who's supposed to be Attila the Hun, into a giant woman who is made to be your waifu and turns into your loli daughter in the end. It had its moments but overall it would have been better if it wasn't waifu wars and all the other servants played a greater part in the story.

I can say I had some enjoyment out of it but it's decent at best. With most characters, you can't even start to have fun until you unlock their whole moveset. There are better musou games to play and the best things in the game are Elizabeth and Gilgamesh. It's entertaining whenever either of those too get on the screen. Also the music ain't bad.

It's very heavily implied. There was also that scene where giant Altera threatens to eat you while smiling. The main thing the writers did well in this game is target their consumer's dick

I have barely any knowledge of the Fate series and I was able to follow the plot and Nasuverse terminology just fine. They give definitions for everything so even new people like me can follow.

It's a jap game, that is probably the entirety of the marketing document.

It's OK. Not an amazing musou game but not terrible either. If you're a fan of the Fate franchise then I'd say it's worth playing. Story could've been a lot better, though.

Also, I believe it was confirmed earlier this year that it'll be getting a sequel. They said the sequel's story would focus more on the servants.

There are times though where I asked, "Why hasn't the MC done this?" and then he proceeds to do that. Like where he inspected giant Altera's body when she was asleep. On that note though, constantly pandering to the waifu audience and forcing that into the main story instead of it being side content doesn't make you take it as seriously. At the same time, wondering why the MC isn't fucking Tomamo's brain out at night brings up questions, but I don't have to worry about that because he does just that. Then again, that's all set up because this whole game is based around selling cute girls.

Honestly if you want a great Musou with flashy combat, I would import Sengoku Basara 4 Sumaragi for the PS4. If you want something with simple combat but much more character variety, enemy types, and cute girls, I would go for Senran Kagura Estival Versus. People say Shinovi Versus has better combat but it's simply faster while having even worse AI and can be easily broken. Enemies in Estival Versus actually put up a fight (until you level past 25. Seriously, they need to remove leveling up from these games), you can wall run, and actually use Lv3 Ninpo at practical times instead of being story locked or at low health. Also character customization with clothing is much better.

I enjoyed both of these games way more than Fate Extella. However, only Estival Versus is on PC. Though it's easy to pirate and you can unlock all the DLC by removing a certain character in a file.

It's lame she didn't have a new moveset though.

So the game on Steam is $45 on launch sale, $50 normally. It also has over $50 of DLC, over $60 normally and it doesn't have the Nero Bride outfit. Meanwhile the Switch version is $60 and includes all the DLC for free. XSeed is fucking up.

I've been playing this for a little while now so here's my general thoughts.
To give you faggots a preface, I played Extra and only got through Caster's route. I didn't want to suffer from the rock/paper/scissors gameplay anymore than I had to.

It's a musou, I don't have much experience in the genre so I can't really say if it's good or bad in comparison but it's somewhat competent and pretty tiring after long play sessions. There's not much dept to a boss fight other than maybe block/dodge when he telegraphs an attack and activate your Noble Phantasm, Moon shit or whatever when you have.

Story's a fucking mess. To start off with, I was only given the choice of Saber to start off with and although she's not a bad character, I wish I got Caster to begin with but it's not really a problem with the game but just an annoyance I wasn't given her straight off the bat. She is best servant in the entire franchise after all. Now there is three different "Main Stories" which I assume correspond to each of protag-kun's bodies (I'll get into that in a moment).

Basically, to give you a run down; game starts off after Extra (or CCC, I'm not sure which) where you win the grail war and wake up only to be greeted with Nero/Saber. Apparently she's conquering the entire place but you later find that Caster has a clone of you and some shit about you you are the mind while caster's clone is the soul? It's some gay shit that makes absolutely no sense but I can buy that. What doesn't make sense is Altera's fucking motivation and just general inclusion.

So, the big plot thing is that Altera's a fucking thing sent from this living planet that eats fucking everything in the real world and basically you are the only one who can save both the digital world and existence. How? I legitimately have no fucking idea. Something about combining the mind, body and soul of our protag-kun here and doing something. However, on top of that; Altera's also after protag-kun's other parts to try and destroy that possibility of saving them.

So in short, everyone is after the protag because they either:
A) Save the world. (Nero)
B) Crush the possibility of the world being saved. (Altera)
C) Want protag-kun all to them self and probably have some really comfy sex together. (Tamamo-no-mae)

At this point nothing makes sense to me and I need five more shots of vodka as I am already on my seventh. It's shit, on top of that the translation is (as expected) fucking garbage. It's readable, but I've seen so many typos, weird capitalization and what looked like someone had typed something only to completely forget about backspacing it and just ended up typing the correction right next to the intended word.

Overall: A shit game but would pirate it for the cute shit.
