They change pic related

What is wrong with this company? Why even change things all the time? And why change gameplay mechanics instead of just NUMBERS? Do they want to prove how creative they are? Reminds me of Overshit removing Genji's triple jump instead of just reducing his damage or ANYTHING.

What is wrong with western developers?

just play Vintage with the rest of us

Developers are obsessed with dictating how people can play their games and they constantly change shit to justify their "game designer" positions without actually learning any sort of legitimate asset or engine development skills.

Those exist?

Yes, believe it or not.

Better question, how does a person become so much of a faggot that he still plays TF2?

I quit after the crit change, that's when heavy main died for me. Imagine getting an endless stream of crits and noone being able to stop you and your medic.

I mean come on, I see this shit all the time on other forums too. The game developers know best. Why would they change a game because a few people can't handle meta changes?

...

yeah because you've never been to a bad restaurant and never met a hobby cook that's better than the cook that gets paid. same shit, appeal to authority fallacy.

Well, became a soldier main shortly after. The funny thing is I was one of the few people who really loved the Beggar's Bazooka, of course especially on maps with lots of chokes.

And of course Valve had to nerf this one too, but no, they didn't just nerf it by reducing damage, slowing down the reload animation or something, no, they had to completely change the gameplay again and reduce the explosion radius so rocket jumping with it (gameplay depth) is completely fucking terrible now and some maneuvers and shortcuts are barely possible anymore.

They obviously don't know best, the thread here is the proof for this. Are you retarded?

I could tell them their GRU change is fucking retarded the second they did it. They needed five years to realize it.

Those are a joke, you won't learn anything with that.

The problem with the way the GRU used to work was that medics made the downside completely irrelevant (and charged up uber faster because of the constant damage). But instead of doing anything about Medic being overpowered, Valve nerfs the GRU. Any unlockable weapon that interacts with medic in any way (even just being able to kill medics, like the Ullapool Caber) gets the blame for medic being broken and gets nerfed.

I quit a long, long, time ago.

m8, my mom who only plays candy crush could go and get one of those, doesn't mean she can be the next kojimbo

This, engineer really needs something fresh. He's only got like three actually different weapons.

Yeah, she'd need a film degree for that.

They couldn't balance that shit right when they had dozens of people on the team.
Now there is less than half a dozen who have proven that they don't know shit about balance; do you think it could work?

Honestly TF2 as it exists now is a babysitter for highly autistic children/adults.

Even a broken clock is right twice a year. Or in Valve's case once a year.

What worthwhile multiplayer shooter do you play then?
No other games are as good even in it's shitty state. Especially if you don't like mobas.

Makes sense.

This.
Very few devs actually turn unexpected functions into intrinsic parts of the game, an example of a game that was successful as a result of adding it into the base game in further installments is Tribes.

I play this game since it was released and I've never seen a decent medic which is funny since the class is literally braindead. They should just get rid of the medic instead of ruining fun weapons.

Dirty Bomb was pretty fun.
Its biggest problem is stagnation. There are like 5 maps total and the devs seem content to just milk their fanbase dry on microtransactions and produce very little new content.

The worst is when they turn the unexpected function into a part of the game and then nerf it so hard that it become useless, like Valve did with the Tide Turner.

I won't disagree user, but for what it's worth in the last month they've added a new mercenary and two new maps. It's something after a year and a half drought of nothing.

Can I please pay you not to breed?

You can pay to breed with me.

Dont try to make sense of tf, it's not worth it

Half a year ago, I think, they lost their publisher, whatever happened is anyone's guess, and they hired a new team for developing new content. 2 maps and 2 mercs in 6 months doesnt sound like much but that's as much as half of the content they released between going close alpha around 2013 and losing their publisher. And in their defense, the new maps are fantastic both visually and mechanically

I feel you, as a Heavy main the GRU nerf was around the time I stopped playing TF2.

No game developer has a fucking degree in game design. In fact that's a big part of the problem. People in game development get there because they know programming, 3d modelling, animating or whatever. They don't get hired because they've shown that they understand good game design.

It's pretty much a stroke of luck if someone gets into the games industry who actually knows what they are doing and chances are their voices will be drowned out by everyone else working at the company who don't.

shut up and eat your chocolate you diabetic fuckhead

Volvo only listen to 6v6 and 12v12 comp fags who hates fun and what made TF2 fun so each update is massive nerfs to popular weapons, questionable buffs or unneeded new mechanics to some weapons like the Shortstop shove mechanic. I ain't fun playing Heavy anymore since all he get's are nerfs after nerfs is no wonder why "There is no such things as Heavy mains" is a meme in the community.

The chocolate barely even does anything since overheal makes it redundant. To add insult to injury, it doesn't even heal as much as the actual sandvich when you throw it.

How many fucking threads do you need for this shit?

...

...

That's a good one, they can barely even program. But yes, they have next to no experience in making shit, but in the past people simply learnt about computers and got in by first working on easier shit on a team and then going up the ladder after learning everything else. Now you have complete fucking idiots jumping into the position of lead programmer with no fucking experience whatsoever, add diversity hires on top of that and you have a is a fresh heap of garbage. Game design is a meme degree made to appeal to people that want to learn programming to make vidya but without actually teaching them how to do it, only talking about how others did it. For example, I highly doubt that anyone that has learnt game design would ever be able to become ANYTHING other than a level designer, and even then they would be shit-tier at it.

Well, I understand this meme now that GRU are shit (maybe redeemed soon), he is way too slow and one-dimensional without them.

What's up with crits anyway? Are they even more likely to occur now? Isn't it time to tone them down or does Valve fear it would throw all the weapons off balance again?

I could swear every second death I die is because of crits lately.

Doesn't main just mean the character you spend most time on and you're best at? What is wrong with this? Sounds better than jack of all trades but master of none.

You should've quit TF2 as soon as they started adding anything but stock weapons and hats.

But please let's focus on what this thread is about:

THEY CHANGE AN ITEM AND COMPLETELY RUIN IT AND BASICALLY SAY FUCK YOU TO A LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE, IGNORE THE CRITICISM AND THEN FIVE(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) YEARS LATER CHANGE IT BACK.

PURE incompentence.

...

HA

They shouldn't listen to every autist that cries hard enough, but holy shit this is some delicious bait.

But other than that, yeah the point is valid. They are just balancing shit without actually knowing why people enjoy it.

Valve cottoned onto the fact that people were using chocolate as another Sandvich (infinite eating = more reliable HP recovery, only ended up breaking up le pootis sandvich parties in community servers) after they introduced that stupid fucking food meter, plus they changed the temporary max-HP increase into overheal because of compfag whining. It's a small medkit when thrown since it's supposed to be a Sandvich alternative, but it's less than useless in its current state.

What they should do is just let Heavy run faster with his fists out no matter what he has equipped. They nerf any weapon that actually elevates a class even when it's a class that actually needs to be better.

What's the name of this animation? Someone posted it in webm form ages ago but I didn't save it.

double king.

They did, and still do. Too bad that all of the core TF2 game designers stopped working on it because they've got more interesting projects to work on and the new ones have their own game philosophy which is along the lines of "why work when people make content for us", which is still a good philosophy if it wasn't for the fact that the game they're working on had a different one entirely.
Also yeah, you're retarded.

nice thanks

Heavy mains are a ridiculous concept because Heavy is the class with the lowest skill ceiling. Any half decent player can use the heavy to it's full potential without having to dedicate most of their hours to practicing the spin up jump.

I just want the Heavy get more loved since he's barely used and you only see one either in casual or comp, I wanted the Heavy to win the Pyro Vs.Heavy but as always everyone prefers Pyro a class that takes no skill and is infuriating to play against.

If you're dying to mostly crits then they're doing their job. Crits are the great equalizer between noobs and pubstompers, you get to have fun killing the noobs but they get to have their moment of joy when they get you with a karmically charged crit up the ass.
Really the only thing wrong with it is ramping up the chance with damage, but considering every game feels obliged to have a 'Win more' feature, crit chance is probably the mildest option.

...

They have that philosophy but the problem is they don't actually incorporate any of the content that users literally shit out at all hours for them. The Workshop is fucking inundated with very good maps, weapons, items, often included with their own stats or gimmicks that would help the game along and definitely do play into the game's artstyle, but Valve doesn't fucking add them for reasons beyond my comprehension when all they really have to do is skim the Workshop once a week and pick what they like. Instead they keep setting up content-gatekeepers from the community itself who then play favorites entirely on their own terms; I remember hearing the End of the Line and Invasion updates both went along these lines, cliques almost immediately developed because Valve hired a complete faggot as their community-manager/gatekeeper and didn't actually keep a close eye on anything he was doing. Not helping was that Valve fucking pitched about 60% of EOTL before it actually went live, then slowly incorporated it afterwards when they figured out they were retarded (save for the weapons, which they claim didn't meet quality standards).

A soldier can spend five thousand hours to rocketjump around at near-Brazilian levels of teleportation but generally he's not going to overpower a heavy unless he's got cover. Heavy takes a metric shit-ton of situational awareness because he's a massive walking target, and in a goodly number of situations he works best as a walking fortress with a medic's help.

Heavy v. Pyro was rigged, numbers didn't fluctuate whatsoever after it reached about 60% Pyro to 40% Heavy.

I voted for Heavy because I thought they might be able to help him without fucking everything up, but Pyro badly needs a change because he doesn't work at all the way he is. Aside from the flamethrower range depending on lag-magic and afterburn being basically useless, he doesn't even counter spies now that the invisibility watch puts out fires.

...

Doesn't help that Valve shows a lot of favoritism towards Scouts, demos, and soldiers.
Scout's plenty strong by default but he's still given weapons to further increase his already high near instant kill damage, and some neat tools.
Demo gets to have a whole secondary playstyle, two primary weapons, explosive jumps, a snowballing weapon, and the most firepower in the game. Seriously man, stickies should be made to not detonate in air or on landing, leave them as a trap weapon.
Soldiers the noob class who everyone plays to feel like they're pro despite having the best escape and mobility options, ridiculous damage, and generally not needing to aim. Just because the dude can rocket jump and has to airshot (Like literally every other projectile) people think its impressive to be good with him and thus Valve makes both way easier, gives him endless HP, and more. This is literally the retarded kid with rich parents.

Meanwhile poor heavy's left mostly untouched, never given any actually interesting tools, nothing. Even pyro gets to have airblast and an option to switch them for crits.

Levelers like this are absolutely retarded, though. You make it sound like it's a good thing.

It's not. Overwatch basically only consists of levelers, that's why it's a shit game. Cooldowns, no real physics and instead fix trajectories and stuff like nade jumping, ridiculously low skill floor in general.

Only the Dead Ringer does that

As the guy above me just said, only the dead ringer.
You might've been trying to burn a spy with a Spy-Cicle

This is even more apt when you consider that in a class whose is meant to trade his health for speed, the escape plan basically says "oh you have no health left? Well here's some speed anyway".

It's the equivalent of a fucking welfare check.

They added duration reduction for fire and jarate in 2015 when they gave the cloak damage resistance. Cloaking makes the fire go out much more quickly than on other classes.

Well, with the old GRU and Tomislav he actually had some skill ceiling, especially on maps with shortcuts, choke points and medpacks that are worth guarding. Quicky switching and running away when you really have too, then approaching your enemy from behind, literally stealthing through the map and surprising your enemy, running past sentries and then switching to Tomislav immediately and getting the medpack (leaving the Dustbowl 3 tunnel and entering the building, for example).

That's what I'm complaining about. There was no reason to fuck this up. This was his meta in my book, how he was actually fun to play and not a shit class compared to Demoman and Soldier.

Amazed someone made an image for that thread so quickly. To be fair, the thread was absolute horseshit. It should have been deleted and the guy should have been banned.

And I forgot to mention that the Dead Ringer makes you immune to afterburn for 3 seconds even though it wasn't in the patch notes or mentioned anywhere, so if there are Pyros then Spy can just use that and not care about being detected even at close range.

Its not a great thing, I'm not defending it I'm just saying its why they're there. Tf2 is not a serious game, its there so even the newest player can have a moment of 'Holy shit I'm amazing'. Its good to draw in new players and not so obnoxious to limit the game's actual skill floor/ceiling.

Everything puts out fire. Every class now has a way to either remove it or mitigate it: Milk, Black box/conch, charging, sandvich, dispenser, kritz taunt/blutsager, jarate, and spy has the spycicle and dead ringer, but also cloaking make it go off faster anyways.
Its no wonder pyro is weak when literally everyone can negate basically his main feature. If it was made so you could reduce to the point of ignoring explosive AoE people would lose their shit, but when it's the pyro its fine.

Don't forget the gunboats, might as well make it so theres no danger to it at all!

Which is why it's in there intentionally, it adds a level of randomness to keep things interesting. Compfags hate it because it's not set-in-stone and it generates aggravation or "power-plays" if a situation where one player would clearly win arises and that player doesn't because of a sudden x-factor. It's part of why you have an option to turn it off when you make a server; if you're bent on it being a serious game, then you have the ability to make it one.

Self-heal weapons without a massive drawback in the equation (ie Sandvich making Heavy a massive sitting duck and depriving him of a shotgun) were a mistake

People did bitch about Demoknight but all he can really do is tank a couple of rockets with the Chargin' Targe and then run away to a healthpack since they removed the turning you need to actually kill anyone with a shield charge. You'd think he'd be allowed to have an effective weapon if he's giving up the Stickybomb Launcher for it, but no, Demoknight isn't supposed to kill people - just waste time and space.

Since when? I can't think of many online games where new players are as chanceless as they are in Team Fortress. A good player is basically a force of nature compared to them, not even a pro, just a guy who plays for some years. Sometimes getting a lucky crit kill doesn't change this. Simple syllogism. It doesn't change much in a positive way for the one of 12 individuals who gets the lucky crit kill, but it changes everything for the one of 12 individuals who has to deal with 12 people eventually getting lucky crit kills, and even a new player should be annoyed at getting killed by them sooner or later.

It's also not like they were targeting kids with this game.

I think Valve knows crits are fucking bullshit but like 70% the weapons have something to do with crits now (usually the disadvantage) and they're too lazy to come up with something else.

Oh yeah I forgot the targe used to be pretty decent. Didn't it also entirely prevent afterburn at some point but then they decided to further nerf the pyro and continue to take away reasons to use the targe and give it to all the shield?

Now all the shields remove fire and jarate effects when you charge with them for some arcane reason. It makes them more effective running-away tools so that Demoknights can waste everybody's time even more instead of actually attacking people.

Because pyro has been getting the short end of the stick for years.
Pretty much everyone has a way to put out afterburn now, and despite how shitty pyro already is he just continues to get nerfed.
Axtinguisher nerfs were bullshit, god forbid a close range class be allowed to hit harder than a wet tissue at close range.
Of course, knowing valve pyro is only going to get nerfed again in heavy vs pyro.

the only changes Genji needed were his ultimate reduced to 6 seconds and swift strike no longer bypassing traps.

I've been playing Vidya for the last 17 years, I'm more qualified to talk about them than most "game devs'.

Nigger I was the one porn dumping, and I am not OP.

*was not

nevermind, misunderstood the image, but holy shit, to think there are retards here actually defending the flood of FC5 threads.

People want to justify their job so they break shit that was working fine.
Or there is a new hire and they break things to make the new stuff they made that everyone hates look better.
Then they ignore feedback until everyone giving feedback stops playing and they can be 'right' because only retards who agree are still around.

Blizzard is really huge at this. I don't even know how many billions of dollars they threw away taking flying out of WoW. Probably cost them 100 billion now that WoW will actually die completely.

...

Taking flying out of wow wasn't an inherently bad decision, but instead of designing the new areas to be smaller and more interesting to navigate and explore they made boring wastelands that require half an hour of autowalking to get anywhere

Blizzard is the king of taking things people like out and replacing it with purposely bad shit just to make an excuse to put what they want in the game.

Every time.

I also just noticed, that thread is still up you lying, agenda pushing faggot.

Guess the doubles king is not approved.

Every goddamn time. Community Manager pretty much means Narcissistic Janitor.

I swear to allah you people have stockholm syndrome. Mainstream multiplayer shooters are dead, time to move on.

FPS are dead when Tf2 got killed.

UT4 Elimination mode is the most fun I've had with an FPS in a long time

It could've been completely avoided if Valve had just done what they fucking said they were going to when they set up the Workshop in the first place and cherrypicked the things they liked best out of it. It's so intensely frustrating to realize that the crux of all the terrible community updates since they set up the format is Valve still doesn't want to put forth any effort, and they get slop for it.

why spoiler an amazing game

After years of being weak sauce Pyro has a fun as fuck kit with the degreaser and a good selection of melee and secondaries that you're encouraged to constantly swap through. Airblast is still good on it compared to other flamethrowers so you can go crazy bouncing explosives and people.
Suddenly decide that's not the way it's meant to be played, buff the fuck out of the Phlog and then nerf all the fun toys.

Saxton Hale on "The Contract" mentions that 4 of the mercs can't read. So I went back on memory.
Spy, Sniper, Medic and Engineer are all good at their jobs. Heavy has a PhD in Russian Literature. I don't know much about Demoman. Pyro is questionable, Soldier definitely can't, Scout might be.
Who's the 4th illiterate? Demo?

I'm pretty sure there aren't actually people employed solely to balance games, the primary skills are artist, programmers, sound engineers and maybe writers, with some sub disciplines of each. From there any of them might also be level designers, and pretty much anyone can tweak scripts and damage/health values. Extensive debate doesn't go into most balance decisions, it's probably 2 or 3 guys who have a brief discussion, maybe motivated by community bitching, then it goes through. It's similar in modding, no one is part of a team as a "balancer", people want artists, programmers and level designers.

I don't like the press x to do thing mechanics in games, but I also really don't see how Overwatch's ultimates are worse than random crits as far as "levelers" go. I mean they have an element of timing and planning required, are somewhat predictable with tells and timers, and they don't guarantee a kill unless you actually know how to use them. Random crits are just unpredictable instant kills.

Possibly Demo. Probably just because he's too drunk all the time to be able to read.

crits don't guarantee kills either, just saying.

Probably just the comics/Pauling-era shitting on all the mercs if you ask me, considering all of those characters (save Pyro) have been depicted reading at least once or twice, and Soldier paraphrased the Art of War in Meet the Soldier. Game's premise bounced from launch declaration that those nine were chosen for being the best in the business to TFC Heavy proclaiming TF2's mercs were the laughing-stock of the merc underworld. They also forgot about all the other companies stated to rule different chunks of the world in secret, and just RED and BLU exist now.

Or maybe you're both going DEEPEST LORE over what is most likely meant to be a joke.

You were always what was wrong with the game.

Where do you think you are etc etc though the "the team is retarded" bit got pretty old pretty fast in the comics, especially with all of them being stated to be good at their jobs. I'm all for the comics being a raging Not Venture Bros. but even Venture Bros. has some givens, you know?

It's true that the humor has devolved into "lel wacky mercs" tier as of late, but this is a quote from Hale, who looks down on the mercs a lot, and isn't a beacon of truth.

I guess but it's way harder to fuck up random crits than it is to fuck up your ultimate as far as I can tell.

yeah because Genji is such a high damage character right?

you sound like a faggot and know nothing about game balance

sincerely,
Top 500 Overwatch player

...

I know two people who got a Game Design™ degree. One started his own mobile game company and he makes bank on shitting out micro-transaction shit, he spends like five hours a week making shitty games and the rest playing real ones. The second friend got hired at a cloud computing company and all he does is watch YouTube videos and occasionally write JavaScript things. They both bought a car and live in a nice metropolitan apartment.

Shit makes me feel bad.

Huh, your anecdote makes me think game design is probably a useful tool for social engineers. Neurons aren't fully connecting though so I can't elaborate on the thought.

u wot m8

I was a "le top 500 Overwatch player" myself when I had yet to figure out how good or shit the game really is. The damage was just an example and apparently a nerf was needed. That's exactly what less damage does. 8% less damage and everyone should be happy.

Better than taking the last depth the game actually had. and also completely crippling his ult while there are 100% braindead ults like Reaper's or all those annoying healer ults.

You would barely even notice 8% less damage. Maybe one in 30 cases it would mean you didn't kill someone you would have killed with 8% more damage. But people would shut up and it's better than completely changing gameplay and things no one ever said ANY bad word about.

Cuck western devs just want to prove how creative they are.

BuuuUuUUUUuuuUUUt I play 6v6 Deathma- I mean payload really really good
I'm totally good at the game I swear

Then stop being such a disgusting piece of shit in the future.

triple jump was retarded you fuckstick, it's good they removed it.

There was literally nothing wrong with it. Like nothing at all.

Now he is just boring as fuck to play.

I even understand nerfing his ult somewhat, but fucking no one ever said "DARN, that triple jump… if it wasn't for that, we would have won for sure!"

Literally no one gave a shit. It was just a fun tool for people who wanted to play the ninja to actually move like an anime ninja.

It matters more for the people playing the game in comp who have much slower reaction times and there isn't people behind the scout to splash

Found the 6v6 soldier main compfag

...

Actually since they nerfed explosives to not have bigger blast radiuses with crits, it's not nearly as bad.

Soldier and demo (At least his stickies) shouldn't get random crits. I don't understand why they can but something like the huntsman can't

Because the Huntsman is still a sniper weapon. You're still supposed to snipe.

This game has been about (((hats))) and (((premium loot crates))) for so long that I can barely even remember the before-time. Why the fuck do you even care? Are you some kind of masochist? Move on and go play a better game, or read a fucking book, or go play that game with a paddle with a ball tied to it with an elastic band or something. Anything would be more meaningful than holding onto a game made by developers who see those who play their games as nothing but shekel-dispensers.

Is the Direct Hit still good?

Name one class-based shooter made in the last 5 years and it's as good as TF2
VIDEO GAMES
Maybe you should visit the TF2V threads user

And they didn't stop there either, they nerf the fuck out of phlog later. I mean jesus christ, this isn't fucking funny

I pity you low-tier scum

Because the huntsman already got a hitbox as big as a log

Thank god i'm not along

Unlike the holocaust, which never happened the atrocities performed by valve upon team fortress 2 and its community will go down in infamy for eternity.

fuck valve

They reduced the duration of his dragonblade which IS a nerf to his damage. Genji is a hard hero to play and if he's fragging your team he probably deserves it and you are doing something wrong.

They did it because of a bug in the character's movement where you could continuously climb up walls and then jump. You could theoretically stay in the air perpetually doing this. It made the character extremely broken to the point where it wouldn't matter if you had lower damage because you could barely get hit by most of the roster at the time.

You're not alone.

Heavy main just gets better if you have an healslut and a pybro for your cover. You're unstoppable

...

I recognize that face.

So what, am I not allowed to say food a restaurant gave me is shit or has hair in it because I'm not a chef? Fuck off, Valve shill.

My piece of shit of a computer cannot play anything else besides SDK, and it doesn't start up tf2 since their CS:GO update.

All mocking aside it says a lot that you quit the game after all the nerfs to unlocks and buffs to stock. Especially the GRU. Oh boo hoo you couldn't use it's move speed in a fight without consequence and in typical heavy main fashion you deluded your self with some nonsense with being able to remove an entire downside of the class as "depth." You honestly though it was reasonable for you and your medic buddy to literally run past sentries or towards fleeing enemies with literally no consequence, you honestly thought that the minor health drain that was easily stopped by your medic buddy was enough to justify removing one of the biggest downsides of heavy. This is why heavy mains are the fucking worst, you get one of the easiest lives of all classes and yet it still isn't enough, from GRU to natasha to sandvitch you cling to what ever you can to remove what actually gives other classes a chance, and when they all dry up you quit game.

Regardless it's good that you quit, it gave the game a better chance to improve but we both know that didn't happen, so all's well yes?

I don't understand why you chose the word "delusion" when it's a mere fact. The heavy has absolutely no depth and the GRU added at least some depth. You're literally arguing "it was supposed to be shit" which I think is a terrible argument. Hell, you can't even use all those shortcuts as vanilla Heavy on Dustbowl without the GRU. It simply isn't fun.

Yes, some items actually improve on the original vision and vanilla concepts.

Yes since that was still very situational and he still wasn't overpowered or anything, even before the nerf Heavy was less viable than Soldier or Demoman in 9/10 situations.

And I'm not even talking about Medics. That's literally another reason why the GRU change is awful. Vanilla Heavy is way more dependent on Medic than a former GRU Heavy. I don't like having a pocket, I enjoyed sneaking across the map and causing as much havoc as possible as a solo Heavy. Medpacks are a lot more useful than Medics which would just get killed in this scenario.

You probably never even played GRU Heavy long enough.

Not true. And no one ever did this anyway, watch any pre-patch clan match.

They did it because they want to prove how creative they are and they want every character to be qually easy to master for all the women and children.

...

You can still use the server browser there just aren't any servers worth going to.

I just care about the weeabootique but I'm guessing most of the usual players moved to other games.

"Depth."

Delusion.

Hilarious.

Also apparently pub players have the growing attitude that using the server browser and playing on non valve servers is bad because reasons, probably because they never played in an age of player hosted and custom servers. If it keeps up they blatantly will remove server browser and make it matchmaking only.

...

At least Heavy still has his niche.
No member of the TF2 community has endured greater suffering than the Pyro player.

And what is their excuse?

why are pyro mains so autistic
why is pyro such a useless class
why does pyro need a buff

The emphasis lies on "more" depth. Yes, quickly switching from Tomislav to GRU mid-fight or using shortcuts mid-fight* is deeper than just W+M1ing with a pocket Medic on your ass.

*For example Dustbowl 1: You actually jump across the pit even when you're near the small house on the right side (red), you just have to stand on the wooden board on the wall of the pit and time your jump properly. Also very useful if you just want to get that max medpack in the other house.

Or you can jump from that metal gate to the barrel where the Snipers are usually camping without having to jump on the supporting beam in the corner first.

With the current GRU you of course can't really do any of this shit without taking chances. Even a single Scout can easily kill you if you're under the effect of mini crits.

You're still slow when actually trying to kill someone and using the gun, you know this, right? And Soldier and Demoman are and always were better in most situations. Do you even play the game?

Pyro, the burn effect and getting killed by it is so fucking annoying, I really don't know why people want buffs for this class. It's already great at the things it's supposed to be great at.

Everything they were suppose to be good at was given multiple hard counters against them.
Because since the release of tf2 the only buff was airblast.
It has been nerfed endlessly
It just needs something like a better indication or it's flame, or a decent weapon that isn't nerfed to uselessness within a week

I can get by with all the stupid changes for every class they made to every item in the name of balance.
I just wish there was a button to turn off all these fucking retarded cosmetics people have on everything, even guns have fucking shiny hats now.

Gee, I wonder what happened to Quagmire…

Because it takes time to master a class that has no clear role and has been neglected by its own developer, also airblasting things is mostly down to you timing the airblast by sound / animation of the soldier / demo / sniper rather than aiming for the projectile itself
Because Valve decided that if they pandered to the whiny shits that can't git gud against the class that has the 'master of none' badge, they'll make the game better for compfags in general
Because all the fun stuff he / she / it / xir has is nerfed into oblivion since this is the way Volvo makes """"""""balance""""""""". Also the flame particle is fucked and the pyro has to be given another role beside as a hard-counter to 1 very situational class

Nothing, because most servers today are cancer 24/7 DMs on cp_wowitsfuckingnothing

He doesn't even do that. If he doesn't have a shotgun he loses to revolver spy at medium range, while at close range the spy can Dead Ringer/Cloak and escape.

TF2 was dumbed down drastically from Team Fortress Classic and could be credited with the birth of the era of quirkiness/bloated art budgets over actual game design that we've got today.

Regardless of what ever retard thinks about pyro it is 100% undeniable the particles are fucked and have been fucked from release.

Git Gud, i mean goddamn your arsenal is pretty much geared towards countering Spies entirely
>Flare gun - crits on burning enemies, perfect for instakilling spies when you spychecked a spy that is if they don't use the DR, which is probably not often

Wow stop posting anytime shithead

wew

GRU is stupid, As a heavy main, Heavy should not be able to run as fast as an engi.
Speed buffing unlocks make teleporters and balance shit.
A teleporter should carry aheavy to the frontline, not running at the speed of a pyro.
tf2v is the game as it should have been.

...

Probably meant that Heavy can't read English.

I saw this thread when it was made and didnt want to post but since its been up for 6 days and someone is seemingly necrobumping it, I am going to be the voice of reason and point out the obvious.

You are brain damaged. New game mechanics, like the gloves of running urgently, mind you, are necessary to keep a game fresh.

What they did to the heavy is not excusable but the original team fortress 2 team is no longer in charge so leave it to these "newfags" at valve to ruin perfection. Damage ramp up is a bad game concept but the gru was and still is overpowered.

Also this post is one of the worst I have ever seen posted on the internet. Bravo.

Huh, I did post in this thread. I just didnt sperg out like I wanted to.

Also the fact that its bait doesnt change anything.

No, a class without even the hinch of depth and the most boring gameplay imaginable is boring.

Shut up, retard.
