Does anyone here actually play this game for the actual combat? If so, who are your mains?

For me it's Hyabusa, Hitomi, Honoka, and Kokoro. I love Hyabusa being a technical grappler that has a great number of approaches. Hitomi for her constant pressure and great pokes. Kokoro for good pokes and dangerous throw setups. Honkers is just fast and dangerous with so many options to choose from. Terrible at pokes due to short limbs and not many ways to approach. But up close she becomes scarier than Helena due to all her stances. Trying to get better with Raidou and Kokoro still.

Best girl is Kokoro but Honkers and Marie are semen demons.

I've considered getting DoA5 on PC but I heard the PC port is trash, even after going F2P. Has it gotten any better or worse?

I used to play a lot of DoA dimensions because it was the only good game on the 3ds for like a year. I main tina and hayabusa but I suck at the game. I also really like Christie purely for her snek fighting style.

Honoka is so fucking cute though, I just want to impregnate her over and over again.

I only play the game locally on PS3 so I wouldn't know how the PC port is. I heard it was garbage and never bothered to get it.

It's actually pretty easy to do well in this game. You don't actually need to know big combos, though it helps. It's more about conditioning the other player to do what you want. Jab low to stop making them block high, and then grab low to punish their low holds. Don't finish combos as it gives the other player obvious signals on when to hit you back or throw you. Have trouble against button mashers? Block all their attacks and poke them to death with good footsies. Hyabusa is the bane of newcomers because they have no idea on how to deal with his teleport attacks which can all be avoided by constantly side stepping.

Mine are Akira, Ein and Tina. Akira because he's my main in VF, although do to the different system he plays nothing like he does in VF and requires better decisions because stuff that's safe in VF turns unsafe in DoA. Ein and Tina because they were my mains in DoA2 Hardcore, which was the only DoA game I played besides Last Round.

It's shit, only good thing about it is the mods.

Rig and Sarah are pretty damn cool. Rig's stance is a pain for most people to deal with. I just find that constantly blocking high and only looking for a throw to break is the best way to escape.

I don't really like the systems in DoA5 anyway. Power Blows, Critical Stuns, it all feels unnecessary. I'd rather just do drunk things.

I like the critical stun mechanic and power blows. I don't care for the supers but the super launcher mechanic is pretty cool. It's a nice way or rewarding the player for guessing all the right moves and punishes people for either holding too much or not holding at all thinking you'll stop your combo to throw their hold. All of them are mid punches too making them easy to predict unless it's someone like Momiji who can power blow from her flame kick.

Is there a download with all of the DLC that works? I tried sone gook one and it crashes whenever you go to character select I think. DOA5 is shit but it's the only one convenient for playing on PC. DOA2U->4 are better in every way.

Marie also has more quality art than most of the cast though. It's mainly the new girls that get any sort of art. So unless its in game screen shots, most stuff will be of the new characters.

Nice thing about the twirl is that it will parry mid attacks. I don't know about highs though. She's one of the few characters who end up being more dangerous when turned around, like Ayane and Leifang.

I have heard Itagaki is not happy about DOA5 especially regarding the more realistic look of the characters.
