Idpol get out.

Economically just given the historic class divides but inevitably would stir more racial tension and divided the working class. Distribute wealth equally nigga

I can't tell if a right-winger made that comic to make fun of blacks or a liberal "left" idpoler made it

...

Does anyone else think it is weird how liberals can admit that slaves were exploited but refuse to acknowledge that laborers were/are exploited? I mean what's the difference between a black chattel slave and a black wage slave? Just a "choice"?

They get paid in money instead of food which means exploitation is totally ok :) - liberals, probably

they are liberals they are fucking retarded, it's just transitional for them, when liberals get older, they become conservatives.

This man is such a god damn hack I swear, I never understood why liberals love him.

If you want revolution to be possible you must first find a way to kill off anyone who thinks this is a real thing

With all the talk about reparations its easy to forget that they don't exist and that no relevant party, politician or movement has ever called for them.

Adolph Reed Jr., a socialist political science professor, has a good discussion of the problems of reparations here:

He's written some good articles on racial issues from a socialist perspective, for instance:

He talks a lot about how the development of racism has a lot to do with the way it's benefited the ruling class, for example from that last link:

I'd pay all the money in the world to finally get the negro menace out of our hair, tbh. Reparations for negros is an inherently race realist position.

In a world without private property, reparations are no longer needed. 40 acres and a mule? Black men can work whatever unused farmland they wish. If you're not able to make use of most of your farmland, you can't use the "muh property" argument in a socialist society.

If its porky paying, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, if it's the proles paying, then no.

It's retarded nonsense that does not actually address the structural causes of poverty, i.e. capitalism.

Technically, you could say we already have had reparations. Social security and welfare are more likely to go to blacks than whites, so there's already been a massive amount of money redistributed to people of colour and away from whitey. But black people in America are still more likely to be poor, right? So obviously the problem is structural, not something that throwing money at it could ever fix.

wow, it's almost like they receive more welfare because they're poorer and marginalized from fully participating in the capitalist economy

dumbass

dude where the fuck am I saying that people of colour are poorer and marginalised because they've been excluded from the economy? That's exactly what I'm saying, just that throwing money at marginalised people doesn't actually solve the inherent contradictions of capitalism and so reparations are a stupid fucking idea. I'm not american so maybe I'm missing something but it seems pretty obvious to me that throwing money at proles doesn't actually fix the inherent unjust and unequal power relationships in society.

Useless.

mention race, gender, sexual orientation, and every dumb ass here spazzes out because they've all been cucked by idpol at reddit

Stupid and will only lead to more division.

Fair enough, but making the fuckers pay is a good thing in itself, even if the compensation scheme is wack. Even if there is no compensation scheme and the state just sucks it up.

Adolph Reed is really good. On the film Selma:

He refers to fusion voting in that text:
For those who don't know what that term means, it's just single-mark ballots with an additional rule that a candidate's name can be listed more than once, so the same person can be backed by several partues and a voter can show a purely symbolic support for a particular party when voting for that candidate. The Working Families Party claims this is hot shit, but I find that the lamest electoral reform possible. Fusion voting would have some teeth if a winner's supporting parties had some leverage after the election, like the power to trigger a recall or block the winner from running next election.

Voluntary reparations are an act of good will.
