Is Mario Kart VR the first good VR game?

Is Mario Kart VR the first good VR game?

No.

Nope.

What? My world looks the same. The screen looks different though
Memes

You do realize that you can't properly convey what you see in VR via a screen? The FOV appears much smaller than it actually is.

You are pretty new around here, eh shill?

OP is a huge cuck.

This sounds like the stupidest idea ever. I'm honestly having a hard time thinking of a Nintendo game that would actually be a worse fit for VR.

inb4 it's on rails and all you have to do is use items to surpass the other characters

This looks pretty bad. You can really see how much they have to cripple games to make them playable in VR.

Super Smash Bros VR

I-It's okay when Nintendo does it?

No, fuck off cody.

Can you punch people if you have no item?

...

looks like a fun way to draw in people to play MK for the first time but dont expect any competitive playing.

the VR meme could've been real if Facebook and Valve didn't fuck everything up.

ha ha man

No way this is going to be a good game, it may be a good VR "experience" but definitively a bad videogame if they want to design the game around using some sort of VR controls, or the shitty joycons.

Plus the tracks would have to be designed entirely for that point of view, it already looks like an on-rails game from that video.

VR was always going to be a gimmick

do you thing yoshi gets embarrassed when people call out his gimmicks just wondering haha

No, he gets mad and defends his favorite cold corporation to the ends of the earth.

It might work for an arcade game, but I'm guessing it'll be gimped compared to the other arcade Mario Karts and the console games

Depends on how it's implemented.
Option A: first person perspective from your fighter, obviously trash and the worst idea ever conceived.
Option B: return to the "fighters are a child's toys" thing from the intro of Smash 64. VR players are sitting around a stage made of craft supplies that's built on a coffee table (think Yarn Yoshi Switch) and the fighters are action figures. Shit would be amazing.

These games need more love.

It's an actual game so yes

FUCK YES
NINTENDO WILL BE THE ONE TO SAVE VR

Welp. Literally Virtual Boy 2.0

No they won't

Then run it right back down into the fucking ground?
kys mark

"Y-Yes they will! I FEEL like they'll save something that was made to fail!!! #NINTENDOSWITCHMASTERRACE…!!!!"

Also
Jesus christ, It's going to look awful, isn't it?

Are those girls really whores? I only watch mecha anime.

Not only that, but a lot of motion sickness from VR comes from low fps or refresh rates. This thing will be a vomit machine.

...

>the whole console slides upwards into the headset
it's going to fall out so easily after constantly being pushed in and being taken out.
i didn't think nintendo was this retarded.

Is this actually real or a fake concept?

You niggers do realize this shit is fake as fuck, right?

good for babbys but will they own VR gear?

I love how people that shit on VR are the ones that are too poor to afford it.

Same with 4k displays.

see

2/8 b8 since you got some (you)s

I still can't believe how many retards here just take bait and never check if something is true or not.

Since the VR looks pretty terrible, I'll take the moment to ask slightly off-topic: am I the only one who legitimately enjoyed the racing of Mario Kart Arcade GP more then most of the mainline games? Emulated them on a whim and was surprised how legitimately fun they were. Only major problem I remember was the annoying as fuck announcer who won't shut the fuck up.

With something like that I might finally be able to see something on the tiny-as-fuck screen.

But no Wario Land this time, fuck this.

I'm interested in Nintendo's take on VR, if anyone can do it right it's probably them.

You don't want VR racing?

It's too low res and the refresh rate is too small too, but because it's cheap and could be bundled in in later models it has the chance to succeed on that alone, we don't actually know what the refresh rate limit for that particular display is so it could go all the way up to 90hz, I doubt it but I wouldn't rule it out.

This on the Super Switch with the resolution bumped to even 1080 and 90hz refresh rate, they'd kill it for VR, and become the first major success, if every Super Switch came with a VR headset boxed in then they kill the issue that games made for VR only net in an increasingly small part of the userbase.

No.

I have nothing invested in VR but if you aren't curious about VR porn then you're probably gay.

I'm waiting for the inevitable bust and retailers to liquidate stock cheaper than this fucking $400 entry bullshit. If the whole setup cost $200 MAYBE it would have had a chance.

Also the gyroscope in the pad isn't all that grand, frequently gets desync'd from general use.

You fucking degenerate.

Luka is the superior pred

It's not a VR console; it's a VR arcade machine. VR Zone Shinjuku is a VR arcade.
