Yes and no. There are SOME lore bits in game. But most of the expanded story that is implied by moonman takes place in radio dramas and plays he's writing/has written. If you enjoyed the amount of character interaction and story telling in NieR, please do not expect the same in Automata. You will only set yourself up for disappointment.
