I'd still think that PSO (and PSP2i) were better. I like having a complete experience waiting for me out of the box - rather than having to deal with all the bullshit hurdles set up when everything is locked behind made-up currencies in the hopes that you'll just get annoyed to the point where you'll spend real cash rather than grinding/waiting out several different lines of progression for meager rewards.

PSO was balanced for fun - to keep you playing and grinding and paying your subscribtion, while PSO2 is balanced for extracting microtransactions.

I wouldn't mind making an instance-based loot'n'brawler. Though I think we're better off discussing ideas for that in another topic in another thread.

No. No Red Ring Rico or any other PSO1 character except for certain nostalgia missions where they show up for a single enemy spawn. PSO2 is completely its own thing with its own story and characters.
