Without even looking into this beyond the OP, I'm guessing this update didn't fix anything and made even more problems based on how fast this update came out. The speed of the release says rush job to me.

Relic's never been too adherent to lore. Not to defend this shitheap, but do you recall the amount of gear in the Blood Ravens' armory that made terminator armor look like a flak vest for rarity? Because terminators being cannon fodder is nowhere near as bad as an unknown founding chapter running around with the weapons of literal primarchs and custodes.

Chaos Rising actually had some decent iteration on the original with the corruption system and new abilities, but they inadvertently shot the meme about Bloody Magpies into high orbit with all their efforts to justify new gear. Granted, if you like seeing just how far Cyrus and Davian Cool can break the game, or what exciting new thefts the 4th company will commit, the fluff's great. If you don't, at least take comfort in the fact that no one else in the universe likes the BR either.

While you are correct, do keep in mind that it may very well be shit like this that has to do with the very real concerns other chapters have regarding the BR's connection to the warp. The warp has, many times, brought powerful weapons and armor to people whom it thought it could turn away from the Emperor, and it did make a good attempt of it with their Chapter. I don't see it breaking lore, just bending it perhaps, but that is the entire point of the Blood Ravens: Way too much coincidence, way too much success.

Not to mention that the entirety of those weapon descriptions admit they are speculation and legend and I do not take their descriptions as gospel
