I played the series in order of release. Playing DS3 was like putting on familiar gloves after DS2. Everything, from mechanics to level design, was more in line with what I know of DS1. I don't even want to talk about it, I'm so tired of DS2. It had a lot of content and a lot of shit to do thanks to the DLC areas, making my clear time for it double that of DS3, but FUCK that game.

And Ripto's Rage even has a permanent fireball reward for 100% that can be carried over to a new game file and used from the start, making those challenges that were otherwise rage-inducing the first time cathartic the second time around. Here's a tip: While some AD Skills are based solely on character level, a lot of others are based on accumulated bonus stat growth of the characters, which are granted by those Capacity Cores you can equip them with. Thus, you can build your characters with AD skills and bonus stats as you will, though it's still usually good to play to their strengths.

Also, if this is on the off chance your first Tales, combat does tend to get more enjoyable as you gain new artes and skills, and Abyss is still in the part of the series where arte chaining is done in a way where it's best to get a feel for what artes flow into each other well (so as to not risk braking combo). I did find Abyss a bit slow to get there though, as early on the arte spread, especially for Luke, feels rather limited, and for a good while he's stuck with just Fang Blade Havoc as far as Arcane Artes go (and Fang Blade Rage, which has an inbuilt knockdown which might be considered detrimental if you wish to keep a combo going and have no way to forcibly cause the enemy to stand). For comparison, Lloyd Irving in ToS quickly gains numerous level 2 techs, but they are admittedly different sorts of fighters despite both being swordsman (Luke is of a slower build, while Lloyd has much more in common with fast physical attackers like Guy Cecil and Repede).

I just started playing EDF 2025 on PS Now free trial and the servers are barren. There are ten servers each allowing up to 2000 players. There are about five people and nobody's playing on the same difficulty as the equipment I have (hard).

They actually didn't. The game was given a relatively small AA budget, but sold amazingly well for it. Very high return on investment tells me Taro might get another game soon, and granted he works with someone who will make the gameplay not shit, I'd probably buy it.

The movesets are great but the enemies are trash and the game is heavily unbalanced (enemies die too quickly on all difficulties and level differences where they don't one shot you) and it should have been a straight action game with equippable chips, no character or enemy levels. I'd say it's average, with an above average story. I'd price it at 40$. Not going on a rant this time. Have a headache.

As someone who only does PvE, I'd say it's about average on all fronts. Not as bad as people make it out to be, but then again, I only bought it when they dropped the mandatory sub fee so maybe I missed out on the worst.

I breezed through almost everything a couple years ago and I couldn't tell you how well the questlines were since more were forgettable save for a few moments where some nice branching paths occurred. This latest expansion is on par with the rest of the game, meaning it won't sell anyone who wasn't already attached to the game.

Enderal came out? I'll have to reinstall Skyrim and play it.

It ran alright. There weren't any graphical glitches or inconsistencies like some other emulated games. FPS wasn't completely smooth, though it did manage to stay between 40-60 frames.
