Dragon’s Dogma General

About time for a new DD thread.

What class are you using?
What equipment are you using?
What is your pawn like?
What are you grinding?
What quest are you completing?
Who is best beloved? And why is it Madeleine?

Wasn't Dragon's Dogging: Dark Aroused being ported over to PS4?

Yup. A waste of time since the console players the only difference will be shinier graphics. It'll probably sell decently, though.

So I'm playing the new GoG release that is being torrented. Unfortunately it does the "failed to connect" thing that the pirated version I used a couple years ago did. I'm guessing this means my pawns won't ever be awesome and that playing this game for free remains hopeless.

Stop being a communist jew then.

>Who is best beloved? And why is it Madeleine?

>not Selene

Can't be that upset to be honest

Gonna play a MK at some point, never played one.

I'm stuck ar Warrior and I can't stop
Pls help

WHEN

...

You can get it on GOG
For 10 dollarydoos

1. Warrior is pretty boring, despite kicking ass
2. You're depriving yourself of some things that make DD such a well loved game. Play another class.

Can GOG people rent steam pawns?

No unfortunately

Recently farmed up the Oblvion set.
Healer, has been the whole time.
Not much left for me to grind, now.
All that's really left is to wander BBI.
Madeleine. She swears off her slutness after you give her the Arisen's Bond. Or after the Dragon, I forget which.

Fine taste user.

Did she really have a thong? I never bothered to pick her up to check.

SERIOUS QUESTION

In DD you ascend from humble fishing village to Seneschal, dooming the world in the process. Isn't that actually the story of Griffith?

Is everyone who played the hero in the game, to realize they are not Guts but his arch nemesis?

SRS ANSWER
nigga have even read the mango? Even in the slums the little shit acted like he was too good for that place and that he would do anything and step on anyone's corpse to get out of that place and if he hadn't he would've stayed there

I can't help but comparing and contrasting Griffith to Reinhard - people from lower backgrounds who climbed up as far as they can.

Except for the part where one of them actually cared about his friends and did everything not for himself, but in order to support other people. Whereas the other was Griffith. So yeah.

See the error of your ways, user.

Magick Archer
Whatever I found that's got good stats
He's a warrior who usually gets 4 star rantings whenever he returns, he always does his job and rarely if ever fucks up.
Cursed crap

The Duke doesn't have a daughter.

*duke's wife

Yeah, I plan to do that too, also MA. I played Warrior, Assassin and Ranger up until now. I fianlly want to use all to fancy Maces, Greatshields and Magic Bows.
Would 10 levels Strider, 30 levels Ranger and 60 levels Sorcerer be enough to switch to MK/MA at level 100? I'd like to play those as much as possible without any of that "switch vocation before level up" bullshit.

I've been playing one and I'm at around level 30 and feeling pretty underwhelmed. There's not much in terms of magic shit for your weapon skills except magic cannon which is cool in concept but underwhelming in power and the shield spells are mostly just buffs that don't do anything until you perfect block stuff. It results in just being very slow to kill anything and relying mostly on weapon buffs.
I'm hoping there's some good skills at the top vocation ranks since I still have two more to go but so far I think I enjoyed my old Sorcerer more.

I played just about every vocation all the way through bubbleballs island and I gotta say MK was my favorite experience, but definitely not for everyone. MK is a goddamn tank, build it for max stamina and you're laughing off every hit with perfect blocks like you're an untouchable warrior god. You lead the charge and give 0 fucks, your party always has the best weapon element for the job and you always have the fortitude to pull pawns back into the fight. But you're the tank, not the dps. No matter how you slice it. You need pawns to bring down big shit in any reasonable amount of time, and you have to babysit them because they are weak like children and you are a mountain of a man.

Want DPS? Don't play MK.

Dumb question but have you tried using the GoG Galaxy client with it at all? That's required for the online aspects.

It works, but the moment they want to ban you, they have a reason to do so

It's the last person with max affection that you talk to before accepting Deny Salvation. If you cuck the duke, you're pretty much guaranteed to get "I WAS BEING RAPED" as your beloved, because of when her quest is. Julian and Mercedes are the ones easiest to mess up.

The only people in the main game I don't think you can Beloved are the Duke, the former Arisen guy, and his Pawn. A few others, but not too many.

distributor, but you get the idea

Yes

Are you talking about the space hallway where the seneschal forces the arisen to kill apparitions of all their friends/loved ones? Because I'm pretty sure that shit ain't real.

I hope they also fix that damn letter boxing they had on the ps3 version. Looks like shit.

He's trying to trick you fool

who the fuck is Stan?

He was looking at my digits

oh shit now i feel retarded

Anyone with not such a good PC/laptop having framerate issues? I put every possible setting on Low or turned it off and I go from 60fps to complete stutters of 5-10fps at times, it doesn't even seem to depend on the location.

Vanquish, for example, runs at 60fps for me on Medium settings but this is pretty weird, I've no idea if there's something specific that could be causing it since I've heard it's a well-optimized port.

I've heard the PC port is well optimised. Not sure what the issue could be. Have you tried the ol' Google search?

Mystic Knight is slow and clunky at under level 70/80, I found, but once I pass the level 100 mark and you have the right augments and gear, it becomes really powerful. If you can telegraph your attacks properly and mind your stamina bar, MK is a great way of slogging through Bitterblack Isle.

I'd have to agree with this. If you want to do DPS with magic, just go sorcerer. You'll get to rain meteors and shit for high damage.

I actually have that DnD book, my first tabletop boxset from when I was like 12. I'm old

I'm sure. In summer 15 is positively ancient around these parts.

...

Is that user with the "aughtism" guide still around. I think the site was on google drive and it disappeared at one point.

needs more clang

...

It's a sound effect joke, not a robot sex joke.

Ah, okay. Apologies.

Anyone else hates how DD gets extremly unbalanced towards the end? especially on hard mode. Thiefs you encountered in the beginning deal 1 dmg on you, while you get one shoted by a thief in the mountains. And of course the point in the game where you're just stronger than anything in the world and it makes no fun anymore. This is like the only flaw the game has that i wish they would've fixed.

Are the multiplayer features worth giving steam shekels instead of pirating?

The stock pawns you can hire can get the job done but they won't be as well equipped or useful as others players pawns. So really the benefit of playing the legit version is that you have a less stupid party of AI meat shields. That's on you to decide if that's worth it.
I've played it both ways and while I like having slightly less retarded pawns I wouldn't shell out full price for them.

get it on sale or something, generated pawns are lame

Giving and receiving good items warms my heart

It's still 60% off.

I know, I was saying get its a good idea to grab it now. The next time it'll be on sale is damn near half a year from now.

There are mods on the PC that try to fix it, but it won't ever be truly balanced.
They really should of rethought hard mode

Tried Dragon's Dogma a while ago but couldn't really get into it. What's the most fun class to play?

most would probably say assassin, mystic knight or magick archer.

(checked)

SATAN CONFIRMS

In Dragon's Dogma you plays as Griffith!

It's on GOG

you don't play a boy prostitute who in the end gets killed by a man-sized word in dd, no.

MA is OP as fuck in Bitterbutts.

Holy shit you are right. I didn't even notice that he asked this.

Hey bitchboi, how about you invite me for dinner and suck my dick instead? That would be a better way of spending your welfare.

...

I knew the moment that I saw her that she was the best girl, but that scene solidified it for me.

I'm okay with how most of the characters are voiced in English, and I'd say a good deal (maybe even the majority) of them are actually better, but Selene's English voice just rubs me wrong. I couldn't say why.

Yes, and I want it to sell well. Whatever incentive Capcom needs to get off their asses and make a proper fucking sequel.

Reminder that all loli pawns will eventually morph into your own character. So if you weren't a loli yourself, you just condemned them to an eternity of torment as they stretch and disfigure into a grown man.

OBLIGATORY~

Here, it seems you posted the bait version, have the original.

What a waste of trips.

wut ayy w8st of a post

Those are trips of truth.

Your shit taste has no power here.

I don't understand how can someone enjoy the piece of shit that's dark souls with all its shitty mechanics bugs and crappy animations and hitboxes, when there's that piece of gold that's Dragon's Dogma, which has only the downside of not being actively multiplayer.

I think shit taste plebs like

Only like dark souls better due to it being a meme, and a bad one.

Are you going for a even lower effort trolling than ?
At least link the right posts.

Nigger, we call that growing up. Lots of people do it.

Why cant a car just hit you already and end it.

Most little girls don't grow up into men, user. Stuff like what happens to the pawns is what differentiates this world from other fantasy games though.

Be me:
I'm glad i tried the demo.

how to fucking get DD online the vpns are too slow and i couldn't get a torrent for it
help plz

Playing this game for the first time, and it's pretty rad. I haven't done any of the Gran Soren main quests yet and I'm level 30 now wew. Is playing as a mage fun because I want to try being a hybrid fighter/mage or go all ranged with the magic archer

Mage is kinda shit since they're the support focused magic class with a lot of channeled spells that just debuff stuff with generally pretty minor debuffs, the upgraded Sorcerer class is really good though with a lot of really nice damage spells. Magic Knight and Magic Archer both get access to the lower tier damage spells in addition to some unique stuff of their own.

Don't get your hopes up for the Gran Soren quests, most of them kinda suck.

mage vocation is without a doubt the most boring one
sorcerer is alright but the gameplay is literally just charge up spells and let them loose. how much you get out of it depends on what spells you use (brontide, maelstrom and comestion are all neato spells with fun effects). mystic knight is like a slower paced fighter with more utility.

I want a sequel with functioning co-op. Pawns are quite endearing in the well-meaning idiocy, but I think having human partners could produce more fruitful and interesting combat scenarios. Maybe they can do that Tower of the Moon dungeon they wanted to do last time, make it co-op, and have special monster fights that would require some coordination between player to defeat.

I don't know how that's possible, because it seems all roads lead to Gran Soren in this game.

r8 my pawn

Yeah I feel like the team attack stuff like jumping off of shields would be much better implemented with an actual human partner

Don't it's probably the worst MMO on the market, yes including mobage

Playing as level 30-ish twins - warrior main and strider pawn. Can't get past the big eye in bitterblack isle, but killed a cockatrice recently. Will probably focus on the main quest for now - just got my wyrm hunt license…

Well that's lame. I'll just stick to the assassin then.

Wolves hunt in packs

Do your twins ever kiss ?
Or hold hands ?

That's pretty fucking good

No, but I would think they bathe together

Damn must suck for that warrior twin cause she is clearly the ugly as sin on.

Gonna do loli twins btw now

I think she's too well spoken. Although all the pawns are well spoken really. Would've been better if she sounded slightly more common.

Is it possible to switch to japanese voice overs on PC? Is there a mod or something like that?

it has a solid gameplay from what i see…
what is wrong with it?

CHICKS

Retarded matchmaking, leveling and exp gain serve to turn it into an unfun grind.

not to mention fighting large monsters is probably the worst implementation ever, a low as hell damage cap leads to fights becoming unfun slogs as opposed to anything fun.
Oh also the pawns are even dumber than the pawns in the single player game, and since the game's deader than hell, and it has the lobby system good luck trying to have fun.
Also the crafting system just is "throw X items at pawn, wait Y hours, thing is done DID YOU HIGH QUALITY IT?"

meh i can get through that easily i have my gang at my side they will play it with me
they are ex ragnarok players and enjoy grind

First time playing this, anything I should know?

Is MK viable/fun with a pirated copy? I won't be able to use other players well built pawns and have to rely on mine and myself. I guess an Arisen and his pawn carrying two NPC pawns would be fine, just not ideal.

Wolves hunt in packs

There, meme covered. Its a good game with a good deal of class variety. The world does get a bit boring late in the game, so you'll likely start fast traveling to avoid the tedium. Just don't play mage, its very dull and a support class.

There's a lot of easily missable quests early in the game so if you're a completionist make sure to backtrack to cassardis after you reach the encampment to pick them up. They're not super essential but they're nice to have done since they do some world building and introduce some characters you can completely miss.
Quests from billboards that say just shit like "kill X goblins" or "find X items" just grab them all, there's no limit on how many quests you can have active so you can just start every single one and let them naturally complete as you play through the game. On the other hand billboard quests that say "escort X to location" are more often not worth doing as they're usually a huge hassle for a shitty reward. They can be made way less annoying if you set up fast travel to the locations ahead of time which can be done once you find a portcrystal and a ferrystone, and once you get to the capital there's an infinite use ferrystone added to your item stash so you don't have to worry about using them up or buying them for absurd prices.

FUCKING LOOK FOR QUINA
Also, there are some escort quests that disappear after a certain amount of time, even if you aren't advancing the storyline. I missed a great early game greatsword that way.

lol, no even ex ragnarok players can't stomach it. Ragnarok had a progressive grind, that you actually leveled up and changed what you did.
You don't do that here, nothing drops from enemies period, you don't even want the EXP enemies have. You run in circles forcing instance reloads in order to do quests, and you run in a circle doing it for hours and hours, while nothing you do changes, levels up, or even alters your playstyle. Best part, you need to level your area up, which resets each week, so have fun doing the circle all over again to unlock the quests that even give anything!

You're going to get items that let you fast travel around the world, save them for when you begin to get escort quests. Once you reach a new escort location put one down, now you can quickly do the quests without wasting a ton of time.

Kinda makes me want to fire this game back up again for real. Almost.

you appear to have tried this gaym
plz nigga i beg of you how did you even get it downloading in the first place with out your vpn fuccing you over

...

They were doing Deep Down for a while which seemed like it was going to be basically a new Dragon's Dogma but who knows what the fuck happened to it. I get the feeling there's some really fucked up shit going on in Capcom because there's so much shit they could be making that seems like it would be easy free money but instead all they ever seem to manage to get out is worse and worse Street Fighters, MvCs with constantly degrading art assets and Monster Hunters with the occasional trailer for vaporware.

Have the game be normal but with better AI and leveling progression, and then make an area that can be multiplayer. This is because doing multiplayer in the whole world breaks the immersion and you always rush to do things instead of appreciating the scenery. Also if the area is midgame then only players who know the basics can play and then you can all rush to do X and Y with the bastards who did it 100 times already.

I just found their development problem.

I'm telling you don't do it
Oh right, also without paying a sub-fee you only have about 1/16th inventory space, and can't access your stash from anywhere but the main city, which leads to longer forays being even more useless than normal

if you really need to for whatever reason can't be swayed and are blinded by the brand name, I'm sure you'll be a big enough whale to continue this shit going. but I just used softether and got in through that, the game's bloated to hell and back with uncompressed audio and the like so have fun.
(also once you start the download through the client you can drop your VPN and it'll auto reconnect and patch you through)

oh right, also if you don't pay a sub fee you get less rewards from quests, and less exp

Best damage class with double jump, ranger.
Some rare stuff that I got from Bitterblack Isle. Love having resistance to most things at 100%.
I change her appearance every now and then. She went from a loli to a blind blue haired girlshe was a ranger, then I started making random cute girls that were sorcerers. Now she's an elf looking girl.
Not sure, trying to get all the rare armors of Bitterblack Isle.
Bitterblack Isle stuff.
I finished the game a couple of times, but the first one was Selene, even though I didn't know about the whole beloved thing. After that, I got Madeleine. In my third gameplay I got the girl that I chose to stay with until now, Mercedes.

I have a theory about this game, after I finished a couple of times… Grigori is the past Seneschal, doomed to find the next Arisen to become the next Seneschal. Why? Because if the Seneschal kills you, you'll become the dragon, so I believe that's the fate for the Seneschal as well. A full circle.
The theme song says "we kill ourselves in the end". I just wanted to point that out.

So much potential flushed down the drain with that game. All MMOs start off pretty bad and lacking content, so I tend to give them a year to see how they grow and adapt. DDON didn't change at all. Everything I didn't like about the game at launch is still an issue, and after a quick look at their page showing what's coming in season 3, it's obvious there's no hope for change.

Anyone got those screencaps on how to make a cute loli pawn?

Is it a good game? Hows the story and characters? Hows the gameplay on pc ? Is it worth a playthrough ?

Not actually good, like the dark souls series, its probably the weakest part of it

pretty gud, although depends on your play style

It runs better for me than the console version ever did which is never, because consolefags are faggots
Still i get a solid 60 frames on a just an above toaster PC.

Like a few other games, its worth a 2nd playthrough
Generally though i stopped playing and decided on making a new character with a new class

please someone tell me how to make a cute loli
I'm horrible at this

Aw that sucks, but at least it seems there are some cute waifus

True but I am actually still amazed at how well Pawns work. I can't remember any other modern rpg in which AI partners understand the concept jumping.

nice/10

Hope your Pawn has a giant sword.

okay listen up user, that guy saying it's no good isn't strictly true. it's fair to say that the first half of the game is pretty standard fare, your-buddy-dungeon-mastering a campaign of d&d level generic "fantasy", but there is a turning point in the game at which things get VERY interesting and to discuss them would be spoiler heavy. It comes as a pretty big twist, comparable to (if you've ever seen/read it) the eclipse from Berserk. Shit gets very weird and very interesting very fast. So take this user's comment with a pinch of sugar(??)

If you play as a Mystic Knight then you have to be really good out perfect blocking as that's what the entire vocation revolves around, as for a pawn a Strider/Ranger would be a good fit along side one just make sure to train them to use Thousand Kisses on your Magick Cannon.

You don't have to be really good since the shield buffs widen the window and there's an augment that makes it even easier. Gets addictive making huge enemies topple over with one or two parries.

thank you keanu I will give it a try

Was Daimon in the wrong?

Around what level is appropriate for grinding the Rotunda of Dread? I'm at ~30 and I managed to clear it once when it was 3 cyclops and a golem but all the other sets in there have beaten me pretty easily.

Gib torrent.

50-60 Is where I start to comfortably grind the Rotunda of Dread for taking on the rest of BBI.

If you have trouble with some encounters just exit and re-enter to change it out. At around 70 I recommend moving the the Black Abbey, at 90-100 you can easily fight your way to Daimon and beat him, depending on your tactics/cheesiness level.

...

May I remind you niggers that the DLC/ expansion dungeon is better than the entire main game.

I disagree.
It lacks best girl.

I never forgot.

can you explain what makes MA OP? is it OP in general? or just on BB?

I chose Ranger a while back because 10 arrow at once sounded cool but I have zero idea the differences in power between Ranger and MA.

Im trying to be as OP as possible mind you
pls explain.

Wishlist for Dogma 2:

Seriously, nothing comes close to how insanely strong MA is on BB. You can literally have Death writhing in pain on the floor with ricochet hunter. As for differences between ranger and MA, pretty much everything. They're extremely different, unlike strider and ranger. MA's bow auto locks onto targets and shoots homing shots, and its skills are some of the most versatile tool sets in the game, including a fire arrow that explodes every time you hit it, an arrow that sticks to any surface and creates a bright light that hurts undead, an arrow that sacrifices a pawn's life to do huge damage, and a dagger skill that literally lets you set yourself on fire to damage anything you come into contact with. Best thing about that last one is that the damage scales with magic, but counts as physical, so MA can set themselves on fire and give golems a hug to kill them in seconds. Again, remember that MA's unique dagger and all bow skills scale with magic, not strength, so a few levels of sorcerer wouldn't hurt if you plan to play MA.

may I ask how good is it in main game and what if say I got to level 100 as warrior because Im a gay retard who thought "big sword = guts HURRRR" and was miserable throughout the game including BB and just wants a nice playthrough as ranger/MA

basically how good would MA be at that point.

It's still pretty strong in the main game. You won't be spamming ricochet hunter like on BB, but MA still has so many other great skills that it doesn't matter. I forgot to mention in my last post that MA also has the option of using regular staves and can use the second tier element spells, which is really useful sometimes. You said you've done BB, so if you have a blackwing bow, you're still going to rip and tear even with a low magic stat.

Kill yourself, my man.

Take your time. Gather plenty of resources for upgrading your equipment and making better curatives. Explore the world. Have fun.

No, he was an Arisen that was defeated by the current Seneschal, meaning that he, when he was Arisen, killed a great dragon, went through the Everfall, and was then killed by Savan.

It should be self-evident.

:^)

I think Im just gonna edit my stats to be what they should be for MA. I feel like I was cheated out of my own shit since I realized too late that warrior niggered me. I mean ranger works great with it because str scaling from warrior but fuck my ass if im not bored as fuck.

I don't think so.

Magic Knight
Not exactly a specific set but most of it is dragon tier
I'm grinding whatever I find in the Bitter Black Isle
All The Bitter Black Isle quests
Selene, for this run

Ranger

...

Good to see people haven't gotten sick of making joke pawns by this fourth release of the game.
I know it's generally bad to use the elemental infused weapons because of the way damage resistance works, but for Magic Knights is it actually better to use them when casting sword spells since they have higher magic stats? Or is it offset since great cannon is like the only one worth using and it takes its physical damage purely from the weapon strength while barely considering the weapons magic stat for the magic portion of the damage?

BLEATING

Fuuuuuuuck.

You can go to BBI at the very beginning pier. It doesn't immediately start off more difficult than main game, it just scales ridiculously fast. Even if you finish the main game first, by the time you reach the last third of BBI killing things becomes unfeasible; such as 3 bosses in a medium sized corridor.

I know you can. First time I went to BBI I got destroyed the moment I went past the doors. Are you saying BBI is doable even if you ignore the story and go straight in? Cause I doubt it.

The Abyssal Eye boss is easily cheesed to death, even at level 10. Using the EXP from that, you go and grind some levels in the Rotunda of Dread or the Black Abbey. Barroch and grinding cursed items can get you the gear you need, but its more convoluted than simply doing some of the quests to get gear in Gran Soren. Still, a BBI-only run is possible, and some people take it as a challenge.

its doable. you can get a moonbeam gem right away and thus unlock a chest in duskmoon tower with a lv.2 weapon. the only 2 available are bows, i think. you can also cheese chests provided you have rc to get gear.

other options include throwblasts, force hatchet and especially iraklis to progress through BBI. Iraklis can carry you through the entirety of BBI 1.0 if you get it dragonforged. beware since iraklis increases damage taken by 50% meaning literally anything is going to one shot you until you get enough DEF

hey can i post the best song ever made in this thread yeah okay thanks

It is a shame that they had to take it out of the PC release, along with those armors at least putting the music back in is easy though

...

...

So Rotunda of Dread is pretty doable at level 40, though some of the fights like the hydra are still undoable. For the time investment the xp returns aren't great though, it takes like a solid 15 minutes or so to kill a drake and I only get like a third of a level off them.
Pawns are pretty scarce on the GoG version it seems, there's maybe two or three player pawns per level up in the mid 40s and I gotta wonder if that's ever going to change since it's what, the fourth release of the game, and the second of the same version on the same platform? By now probably everyone who wanted to play it already has and it isn't the most replay friendly game with how shit the main quests are.

Has anyone played DDO in the last six months or so?
Is the new class and story stuff cool at all?

Also posting second best song ever made

Godspeed autists, godspeed

Fucking faggots.

Does anyone have a leveling guide? I think my character is fucked and I've been looking for a reason to reinstall the game.
I want to be able to play Warrior and Mystik Knight without being underpowered in DA. Magic Archer would be neat too.
Is this guide any good?

just install the dinput8 hook mod and respec literally everything.

it's a handy tool, it is essentially a super cheat but if you're like me and can actually go without being a god while still having it installed it's a handy tool.

Blame capcom for that, mid way into production capcom thought it would be a brilliant idea to cut their development time and money in half, they were forced to rush out what they could due tot their brain dead owners wanted.
This isn't the first time they pulled this shit either they did it with dmc 4.

that's a healthy canadian girl ripe for my hot Australian loving

I feel like this has happened all three times I've done this quest, something about those staircases at the start really fucks with their pathing.

No that guide is hilariously awful, the game does not favor "jack of all trades" because defense is pure subtraction.
You need to just pick your attack stat, go crazy on leveling it up.

How should I kit up my pawn to look like Severian? It's been a while and I've forgotten all the gear
quick rundown for those unknowing of Book of the New Sun

Can't help you there user, I've forgotten a lot of armours and never progressed very far with BBI.

Great taste with Book of the New Sun though.

At this point I'm certain there's a mod that replaces the menu song with this.
Now, where do I find it?

Right but what if I want to play as mystik knight or magic archer?
What balance would I strike between magic attack and regular attack?
I mostly played Warrior and later on some mystik knight. I believe my character was shockingly frail, did jack shit damage in DA and had relatively low stamina.

I assume you could just take the into free mod and replace the sound file.

you need at least 50 sorc levels if you want to do damage with the cool abilities, not worth it really

How does this sound then:
1-10 - Fighter
11-100 - Warrior/ Sorcerer (40/ 50)

Wrong image.

This is the type of thing that puts me off playing DD again. The grind to have a good build and levels.

I would just suggest this mod. It changes the stat growth and makes it so you can play whichever class you want and not care about stats. The other stuff it does are neat quality of life stuff.

nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/193/?

...

Naw just go Mage 10/ Sorc 40 then MK/MA. Puts you in a decent place for magic, you'd need to get good at not getting hit, which isn't hard.

I'm afraid to mod DD since I have the steam version.

But then I'd be a useless Warrior, should I choose to play as it again.
Here's another idea.
I think that would strike a good balance between HP, stamina, attack and magic attack.

Nope, don't do that, because you're worthless at all classes if you do that. Balance is bad, the game's about focusing into stats

I have the steam version too, that mod does not change anything with online pawns. I haven't seen anyone talk about bans and the mod creator/compiler even states that this mod is fine for online play.

Well, clearly you need some sort of balance if you want to play as a MK or MA, right?
Or are those simply magic classes that can also attack in conventional ways?

They're just magic classes that occasionally can be bored and bonk things. All of their main damage is magic based

Well i'll be damned. So really, I just need to play mage and sorcerer until lvl 100.
What about this.
Just to get a bit more hp and attack.

Drop assassin, just go warrior more HP that way.

Not really, I went full MA from level 10 to 200 and never had any problems.

yeah you focused on MA, I don't see what you mean.

Alright. I'm set. Neato.

If I wanted to make another character, one that was a warrior character that could also change into a normal ranger and into the assassin, would this work?
I want to play a MA and MK but I also want a melee character to play on so I would make a second character.

Obviously that isn't a problem but if you want something that can actually change to a couple of classes, you do need to think ahead.

Warrior isn't really that good, tbh. But yeah that works fine. As long as you spend a good deal of time in assassin, you'll have enough physical attack to work with any non-magic class.

Come say that to my face you fucking faggot.
Warrior is a great class and super satisfying. It's basically the most gimped class in the game but it makes up for it in its abilities.

It has… arc of deliverance, is slow, and doesn't do that much damage.
Like it's satisfying to use, but from a pure stat/dps/numbers perspective it's weak

I's like to add that the Warriors HP gain suck hard after lelvel 100.

all stat gains past 100 are pretty bad

She and Mercedes have the same voice actress so maybe that's why.

MA offensive stat gains suck absolute ass, it's like 2/3 ATK/MATK each level if I recall correctly. An unplanned mixed build will get similar stats to that on average if not better.

Could I just play Mage then MK and be fine? Or do I need to dick around with other vocations and augments?

not really, if you do some retarded shit (like that hilariously bad guide suggests) you go for some random ass reason 90 levels in fighter/warrior and then 10 in mage. leaving you at a massive deficit

The game is easy enough that you will be fine.

There is literally no reason to play Mage over Sorc. You're going to want augments from other classes regardless of what class you choose as your primary, but if you to focus on the MK's cannon you can probably skip most classes besides Sorc.

New class is cool and can be acquired right away by piggy backing onto anyone else who has unlocked it. They're a nice mix between support and offense with great mobility, heavily encouraged to use multi-hit skills and combos and a decent charge mechanic. Pretty fun to watch in action. The new area Fiindam, is huge. It could have easily been split into several small updates but it was nice that they didn't do so and its more high-fantasy than the typical DD look which sets it apart. It also encourages one to explore it with free wads of 30,000 or 50,000exp littered pretty generously about it. Something I hope continues. As for the story stuff I don't speak Nip but it seems your typical MMO affair. Not worthy of praise nor scorn but fun to laugh at for how melodramatic and even predictable it is.

If you're returning and did enjoy your time with it then I suggest waiting just a bit longer but definitely returning. New update is scheduled with another new area, new waifu (The story fucking burns through them its almost funny how many have died) and monsters.
Also a new skill system providing a new tier of strength to skills similar to the skill rings in DD:DA but you get to select between two plausible upgrades depending on style.
A basic example for the fighter is to grant them super armor for the duration of their skill or to extend the hit-box to a hilarious degree.
This new system has some potential if COG don't fuck it up, which considering its COG, its likely they will cock it up in some fashion. Overall though the new updates have been pretty solid and combat is enjoyable.

If you're new, don't expect it to be anything like DD:DA and expect it to be an MMO with some enjoyable combat but the usual MMO problems.

Ah, neat
If the class is support focused I'll give it a pass, the majority of DDO's value is as a mediocre single-player game, and grinding up a class outside of the one you use for the main quest is an ordeal unto itself

I made a super original character. Please do not steal!
Wan't there a way to pause the game so that you can make screenshots or am I misremebering that?

I know you're delusional right there

...

when the game hasn't shit on basically everything that made dragon's dogma fun, call me.
Oh wait they ruined a majority of combat with a stupid "enrage" system they refuse to remove but instead make the game easier and easier by including it. Not to mention the horrible fucking "oh kill the horn to remove enrage" enemies, those are totally worthwhi.. oh wait they die in less than 2 seconds, better run in a circle and grind them out then

Now there's a new one
I have literally never ran into that problem playing solo

It basically makes all fights "hit him once, get to first enrage, knockdown, dead"

Pawn AI doesn't matter as long as it occasionally does what it's supposed to, relying on them for anything but support spells is retarded anyway
Maybe it's because I mained Alchemist, but fights seemed to go on for a good while without seeming that padded
