Nintendo is trying to fuck with the formula of another popular genre, so that's going to bring people in. There's also ass autists and memfags with "muh thicc". There's little appeal to this game because unlike Splatoon, it's not adding anything super interesting to a bland genre, and Nintendo already has something to fill the void of "almost fighting game, but not quite".

Every fucking time, the co-op play on this game is a disaster because you can't even use voice chat to either ask for help or tell them they can save you. And worst of all this is going to release without voice chat for the rest of the year.

The only thing they've got right about this game is making minmin such a qt.

It's a fighting game much like Street Fighter or Guilty Gear but on a 3D environment (without making it as obtuse or pointless as Tekken) and less about long withdrawn combos but more about positioning and combinations.
Seems fun.

What? 3D environment is pointless in Tekken, do you even know how important walls are and how walled levels can make some characters more efficient? How different combos have different push capabilities that you need to use in certain conditions to get the enemy against a wall?

I don't think life bars are enough to be considered a fighting game. I don't like the term party game though, to me this is a brawler (and brawlers do have life bars, like the digimon shit from some years ago).

You can, there's several different control schemes to play the game, some of them binding punches to A and B.

It's honestly not that bad, although it does take a while to get used to, during which it's gonna feel a lot awkward, but afterwards, it's far better.
Plus, you can do things like twisting the controller as you punch to curve your strikes.

That's what people don't realize is that curving punches and widening grabs are motion exclusive.
