Yeah, HS teachers do seem to be as impartial as they should be. I can confirm that teachers here in Australia are not told to be 100% impartial or (much more likely) they are specifically instructed to indoctrinate students. I remember, for example, that my history teacher praised multiculturalism as the bare minimum of human decency, and spoke venomously of the White Australia Policy and Assimilation when explaining the transition of Australia's immigration policy from WAS -> Assimilation -> Inegration -> Multiculturalism. When Rudd said "sry black ppl :(" we were all made to sit in assembly to watch and afterwards this same guy praised the speech and asked the class' opinion. When I said it was a load of rubbish he was totally amiable about it and said that nobody is obliged to agree. Jewish guy who spent an entire class showing us documentary footage of the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombings that was very clearly in condemnation of it. He completely neglected the Pearl Harbor attack and the various war crimes they'd committed up until that point, too.

Once or twice a week in class, we'd watch an episode of CNN Student News (basically, whatever big events they were reporting on at the time on their official network but just dumbed down for us) and we would have to do something or other with the information from it. That one may not have really been her fault if it was built into the curriculum, but she made no effort whatsoever to go to any other news sources when we did those things.

He showed us Michael Moore's Sicko in class as a criticism of the U.S. healthcare system, even though there was a lot of controversy surrounding that movie because Moore took sick Americans to Cuba to get treated for their various illnesses and edited the film to cover up the fact that the place they went to was only available to upper-class Cubans rather than just anyone like he implied. Also, when we got to the communism unit, that teacher also said that theoretically, communism is a great system but has just never worked when applied in real life.

I never had her for anything so I can't speak from firsthand experience on this one, but several of my friends told me this teacher was a huge Obama supporter and sometimes got into heated arguments with her students who didn't like him

Aside from two community college class that I dropped out of before they were finished, I haven't really been to higher education yet, but from the few interactions I had with the students and a guest at the place I went to, they came off as insufferable libtards (two girls were out in a hallway talking about Emma Watson's new website that had something to do with rape and why they loved her, and a model that my class was going to draw who was going on about why Trump was a horrible person back when he was running for president). In my twelve years of school, there was only one semi-negative experience I had with someone who I knew for sure was a conservative, and it was a kid in my class who was an asshole to almost everyone in general. The district I went to was in a suburban part of western PA though, so I guess it just depends on where you are in some cases.
