I've noticed that there is a difference between the PS2-era style furry animal protagonists like Ratchet, and more modern ones that resemble something made by furries. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I think it's the more human-looking body and detailed/realistic-ish animal face. That thing in the OP looks like a human (with robot arms) with an ugly cat's head.

From what I've seen and read, the game is fun though clearly amateur in certain areas. However it will only take you 2 hours to finish without aiming for 100%.

Of course someone should play it themselves and report back. The levels would have to be really fun and challenging enough to make you want to reply them if you only get 2 hours.

I'm familiar with Mecha The Slagg's work on TF2 mods. I'm pretty sure he's responsible for some of the more thoughtful custom gamemodes like parkour fortress and smash fortress. Watching the development for AHIT. I'd imagine he at least knows how to program the game proper. So long as he has competent level design and understands pacing, I personally think it'll turn out fine.

You know what annoys me the most about these new platformers? They don't make an identity for themselves. They just bank on or try to on 'REMEMBER RATCHET, JAK, BANJO, ETC?' without making anything themselves stand out. One of the main components that Ratchet and Jak had was their friendship with Clank and Daxter. They could bounce off of eachother in cutscenes and dialogue when appropriate. You got the feeling they were friends going against all odds to save the world. As much a snarky asshole Daxter was he still would step up if Jak was in trouble or hurt.

Yooka-Laylee is the only one coming to mind, or Lobodestroyo which is still the "human body" mold described above, just with a monoeye instead of Balto's face.
