I've already been playing this for a while. I wish it didn't take so long to level up on ranked servers. The unlockable weapons are mostly sidegrades but the gadgets are really vital to playing some of the kits to their full potential.

There's a mod to unlock everything for people that wanted to play against bots but it was pretty big for anons to download on short notice.

Titan is fucking sick but the classes are streamlined and the factions are boring, closest you'll get to a game like Planetside 1.

It has some great aesthetics and mostly the same gameplay formula as BF2 with some fun new modes like Titan. Combat often devolves into some pretty horrific explosive spam though, since every infantryman can carry 3 grenades and the recon class in particular has demopacks and claymores that are absolutely fucking obnoxious when spammed.

After installing the game it launches into a black screen and says it is not responding in task manager. Hopefully a reinstall fixes it.

Crashanon from the other thread we had on Dystopia. I know Battlefield worked on this machine before, but it crashes/freezes my Win7 now when I change the resolution (recently had an OS reinstall because somebody told me it would solve my hard latency issues).

I've tried playing it in compatibility mode, disabling display scaling on high DPI settings, which is said to fix games crashing on Win8.
I will now try to update my Nvidia driver and roast some marshmallows and then try to force the game to launch in windowed mode from the Revive launcher.
This is an issue on my end and it's keeping me from playing good vidya with all of you beautiful, beautiful faggots.

Forcing windowed mode through revive client sufficed, I also updated my Nvidia driver, reset launcher settings and installed Quicktime (just in case, it once fixed Bad Mojo not launching and is said to fix GTA:SA crashing from changing the resolution).
Works fine now in fullscreen in the resolution I set it to be before the crashing started. My guess is forcing it to launch in windowed mode made it overcome whatever it was that was crashing it.

I haven't played PlanetSide at all however the concept sounds very interesting. However using discord is making me slightly sick personally, however it doesn't appear that one has to use it in order to play rather it is mainly used for moderating (unless I'm wrong).

The funny thing is that the devs don´t even know their own lore. There are no animals on auraxis but they still have ambient sounds for frogs and birds on hossin and amerish for some reason.

The TR on earth was peaceful, democratic and transparent but in Auraxis they were a super commie/nazi mixture of authoritarian, very militaristic and probably socialist (though there's no confirmation, if I had to assume, it's state corporate). The NC is probably AnCapistan with a Jeffersonian style militia fighting for whatever they want and the Vanus are what the fuck this makes no sense.

The way Battlefield 2 and 2142 do map sizes is based on playercounts. I set it to 16 initially just to keep the game dense even with low players, but as the night goes on I'll expand it to 32 up to 64 when needed.

I've migrated the server files to a clean install, will be restarting the server at the end of this round. Additional fixes include moving the titans and shorter, multiple rounds per map.

The only thing known so far is that it crashes on round change, not map change (just that the two are often the same thing).

I've been playing on the Dethklok servers fairly regularly for the past ~2 weeks and I've never had a server crash. Maybe somebody should see if either they or the Revive guys have anything about this in their forums.

I'm having a look through the forums now and host is ingame trying some other ideas. No promises though.

The only fix for the crashing back in the day was to physically restart the server.

In BF2/PR and after about three days of up time, that is.

We're still trying to fix it but just in case we'll maybe need a new thread for emergency discussion of alternatives. I can think of four, each with downsides:
1. Invade another server (no guarantee anons won't get kicked for having names like Hitler though, also we can't put a password on if the server gets full)
2. Reschdeule another game for Saturday (anons will not like having to download another game and having wasted time getting 2142, player numbers will suffer)
3. Cancel this week's gamenight, reschedule one for next week (mods and non-gamenight anons might not want us to shit up Holla Forums for another weekend with stickys, someone else might have wanted to use the off-weekend).
4. Same as three but don't schedule a replacement (anons miss out on a gamenight).

Also an option for UT4, of course, but I think it's popular enough for a full gamenight.

The fix was a total purge of all server files, followed by purging all configuration files and then rebuilding the entire databases using files from a shady Frenchman.
Cycled 5 maps organically and it seemed to work fine. This is the first "true" match due to being a full length round.

I had to reset the server in order to fix an issue regarding the defibs. That one was on purpose. That should be the last one required to get the server going 100%.

Since it is in fact the rewards causing the crash, I am forced to disable all tier 1 equipment. Since it's an unranked server, you won't be able to earn any while playing on it. I'd suggest to do what says and join the ranked servers for now. By playing on those tonight, you can earn rewards to use on my server tomorrow such as the defib for Assault.

Apologies to anyone frustrated with the results of today's server, it's taken me almost 7 hours straight just to finally get it working. I'd rather put it up tomorrow when people are refreshed and ready for another chance at playing than try and force it and get people burnt out.
