That said, the characters that the biz cards are for also plays a factor. So nothing wrong or against any rurus with playing with a design that uses more photographic element.

Kind of. The Chen card with the photographic brass bike horn would be the closest to what I'm trying to say. It's using a photo of an object, not an abstracted icon or logo. I'm not saying this one is objectively better, it's merely a different style that is worth exploring at least. Since nowadays there are biz cards that uses more photo elements in them. IMO I think they are a bit tricky to design well and not look tacky, but that's part of the challenge.

That particular Cirno card I would personally include in a poster style of "Cirno biz card and it's variants" collection, and for a joke card it actually works really well since it fits her character.

That Alice card, looking at it now I feel meh, I think that ribbon logo in this version is boring, I think I can look and choose a more interesting looking bow logo. Even if sticking in the flat logo style like that, I think I would want a different logo now. The version in the compilation list I have no second thoughts, at least right at the moment.

The 'serious' grown up version of Cirno card, that one I still feel ok with. I might try another logo like pic related, but that one is still ok looking at it now. Or maybe I just have a soft spot for that baka genius.

The Kazayami card, that 'night' version I still like though imo I would go with the orange center and black logo version if I were to have it printed in color. Since it would fit her characters theme and text more of sun flower, garden of the sun etc.

But it did give me an incentive or a challenge, of how to find ways to make biz cards that uses photo elements in them, not tacky looking.

There's nothing wrong with walking simulators in and of themselves as a genre. It's just that it's focus is storytelling and exploration. It's because of this focus that people don't refer to it as a 'game' since it doesn't fit with "playing" as much as interacting. Not being called a game doesn't (read: shouldn't) devalue it as a work, it simply means that people looking for a game won't be interested in it, as opposed to someone looking for a story. Calling yourself a gamer gives off the wrong impression.
The reason why walking simulators get so much shit is because of reviewers giving it more attention that it deserves when their stories don't appeal to most people, only a subset with progressive/lgbt leaning. It's not innovative either, environmental storytelling isn't a new thing.

It's a fine thing to be concerned about but the localization is fucked from the start. NISA only puts somewhat of an effort in when; it's a new IP that hasn't had much exposure in the west/isn't owned by NIS or when the original devs are breathing down their neck.
Ys already had a fanbase built up in the west so they're not gonna put an effort out for something with guaranteed buyers and Falcom isn't breathing down their neck since they've got a fuck load of projects under their belt.
A Good port means it can atleast be fixed eventually and pirated, but NISA's ports are trash and knowing them it will have denuvo
