Install the latest version of FAR from here (this is the repo without piracy protection, just in case):

Once the game boots you should see a message that FAR was activated, open the FAR menu with the shortcut indicated, accept the terms and set the global illumination setting to low. There will be no noticeable difference in graphics and the game should now run perfectly.

For some reason either Squeenix or Platinum set the engine's global illumination to a retardedly high setting and gave you no option to configure it without a mod, which is causing the performance problems.

I downloaded the japanese voice pack and tried only installing it, but it didn't work and changing languages does nothing.
I also tried downloading the english voice pack, but trying to install that only gives me an error mid-install.

I can't get Reshade to run with FAR. Even after installing it to the correct directory & making sure everything in the .ini was set to load from that directory. When I set it to load as Plugin it does not work, but when I set it to run Early it does appear. However, it plays a sound immediately after launching the game, then the game closes.

I think the piracy protection shit was not fully removed from that forked repo. I hear the original repo is outright malware that will delete files because the Denuvo shill author was so buttblasted over piracy. Given that I've managed to trigger what appears to be anti-piracy (plays sound then game closes) I wonder if it deleted something. The game still starts when I disable ReShade so I guess if it was targeting game files it didn't delete anything.

I don't think I'm getting much fps increase from setting global illumination to low.

Upon further investigation that sound is just a crash handler. When enabled it plays sound when the game crashes. Doesn't always work though.

How? Reshade 3.0.6 just crashes game when used with latest version of FAR from that repo. I know the shit works because I used it without FAR. When loaded is set to "Early" it appears but crashes. When loading is set to "Plugin" it simply doesn't work.

Still stuck to my 200 yurobucks 59hz piece of shit 1920x1200 screen from 4 years ago.

Only have a 1080p monitor, but I have a 4k TV I use when I use a controller instead of mouse and keyboard. You can definitely tell the difference between 4k and 1080p. I mostly game in 1080p, though. I only have a 980, and for most games its not enough to give a good stable framerate. I'd rather have a constant 60 fps over 4k.

Delete all reshade files and folders you may have copied to the Nier folder this is just to avoid clutter, then copy only the ReShade64.dll to the path you know.

Now set FAR to load Reshade as plugin, and then in the Nier.exe folder create an empty file called "ReShade64.ini", launch the game and see if reshade loads, then you can configure Reshade manually

I was keeping the ReShade files with the ReShade64.dll however, I tried having just the ReShade64.dll in that plugin directory ( Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\Plugins\ThirdParty\ReShade\ ) whereas all the ReShade files are in the Nier Automata directory & Reshade is set to load all it's shit from there.

It is set to load as plugin in FAR, but SHIFT+F2 does not bring up ReShade options & ReShade never appears to load.

The Reshade.ini in the game folder is pretty important, did you create it? I may have fucked up the name in the other post.

Or just try copying the one in your reshade directory to the game's folder, without this file i was having the exact same problems you say.

However i tried creating an empty text file and just renaming it and it was working too, i think it is just a requisite of Reshade

ReShade.ini is in there. I had my dll & ini named ReShade64, so I tried just naming them both ReShade & changing the [Import.ReShade64] in dxgi.ini to reflect the name change, but it wouldn't load it under that filename either. I even reinstalled ReShade on it's own without FAR to make sure it worked before trying it with FAR again. It works on it's own.

When FAR is set to load ReShade as plugin when does your ReShade load? Mine never loads when set to load as plugin.

I can force it to load as Early instead of Plugin in the dxgi.ini but that feature is broken. I read in the bug reports that it should just be set to Plugin. When I try to set it to Early in the UI it won't select the option so I dunno why it's even there anymore.

I and others have guessed that if an android isn't useful, say they die very often, die very early in a mission, are incompetent, etc., then when they die, their new body privileges are revoked and that particular AI/personality is cut from use in order increase efficiency in the war effort. Remember that even though YoRHa was planned to be eradicated and their main objective was to boost morale, they still carried the secondary purpose of fighting the war. You seem to keep getting new bodies whenever you want because you and 9S are special, but what if this wasn't true? What if you were just as expendable and replaceable?
If the game's balance wasn't so shit and allowed for more customization, I'd like something like this.

My game runs at 50-60fps at all times at 720p with this, but I get constant xinput1_3.dll crashes on the codex crack; can't even fucking finish the prologue because of it. An yeh the crack isnt perfect right now. It really hates most hooks or overlays, even swaping shit in the USB ports can make it crash. I couldnt even play for more then 10 minutes after installing it. I had to reboot the PC like with games from 20 years ago and only then it stopped crashing.

I think everyone has different experiences with the port, pirate or legit. It will likely be better for legit customers, at least in terms of fixing things, but sometimes Denuvo cracks make games run better.

I keep all the files in the game folder and that doesn't matter at all, the import thing is that the reshade menu points towards the correct textures/effects, and reshade64.ini, which it didn't when installed (maybe since the game is cracked it defaults to some steamapps shit)

Similar first experience for me as well, minus the DS4. I was worried about some real bad issues and spending a bit of time tweaking stuff, but all settings are maxed and borderless gaming is all I need. Though the grass in the first area tanks my framerate.

I only played for a few hours yesterday and got to beat the dickless man in the desert, so far it seems to be emphasizing the disposability of the androids in a way that creeps me out a little, finding 2B's first destroyed body made me think of SOMA and how your old bodies in that game were actually other versions of yourself rather than just bodies. SOMA was cool but not very emotional, but I get the feeling that a game like this that's more charming and emotionally engaging using the same concepts as SOMA can make me suffer a great deal.

So I just installed the fitgirl repack version and ran the game with the FAR mod that came with the pack. I tried ctrl+shift+backspace and pressing start and select with my xboner controller and no menu seems to pop up. I did hear the mgs alert sound though and it recorded a crash log. What exactly am I missing here to get the menu to show?

i dont understand how people can think this android is some kind of inferior weapon. its literally an independant mobile unit that doesnt sleep or tire, thats capable of launching missiles, dodging bullets, and using ranged/melee weapons with armor-penetrating abilities. they can take many bullets without sustaining damage and are capable of healing and repairing themselves and other units.
they can function in squads or on their own. the only thing that could be considered a more effective weapon would be gas or nukes. however thats not viable in a defensive war.

All of those things you listed are things that any robot squad go do with sufficiently complex programming. But what is the advantage to having them be human shaped in particular? Welp, I still can't get FAR to show up despite installing the win7 updates needed for it. Don't have any of the other supposed interfering drivers listed installed either… guess I'll have to bear with it. Also when do I get the DLC costumes?

Well it crashed around the place on picture over 15 times during a time room of 4 days. I'm telling you i could probably break the world record in speedrunning the prologue now.
Anyway, i did some research and troubleshooting.

First i thought i had to disable some options in the nvidia settings. It didn't really work.(it might have been a part of the problem. But what really fixed it was turning of multi threading in my cpu settings for the game. It's running mostly smooth atm. No crashes yet.

I'm betting if you set affinity to every core except the last one, your crash issues with clear up. For some reason modern day Engines are all using the same library to multithread, and this is the literal fix for 99% of all games. I ran into this issue with Deathwing, and then someone told me to disable the last core, did that, game never crashed again.

Perfect compatibility with all things already designed for humans. Well that's cynical. I used to have a method of fixing most problems by reinstalling Windows. Not because I couldn't fix it, but because I liked reformatting for the speed boost it usually brought by shedding dead weight.

Sometimes people might just be reinstalling windows, or maybe they got their "such a nerd" friend to fix it for them, etc. The only computer problem that I've ever needed help to fix turned out to not be a software problem, and the "fix" was removing a RAM stick.

I like to think that people just kind of stopped being helpless and manned the fuck up and figured it out. There's only a few hundred BILLION webpages on the internet, I'd surmise that at least 5,000,000 of them relate to your tech problem.

You're assuming the cost of making a robot that is human-shaped and uses all tools that humans have built for their own limitations is cheaper to make then a robot with much simpler and common designs. Have you seen the robots they're trying to build to walk? Bipedal ones are a fucking nightmare compared to using a robot that can walk on all fours. Tried 3.0.7 also. Still doesn't work. Others have this issue, they do everything correctly but FAR doesn't load ReShade. No one addresses the issue, not the original faggot who made the tool nor the other faggots who disabled piracy protection. Yeah, I'm about to give up on it. Even when playing it vanilla without ReShade or FAR it still crashes randomly. I get c0000005 error which is generally related to C++ so I reinstalled all Visual C++ Libraries, yet it still crashes when loading or crashes randomly after playing for a while which is the worst because you're forcing yourself to play quickly to get to the next possible save area ignoring items/enemies & essentially not even playing the game.

Their bodies are just platforms and really don't seem too important.

But it's rather strange - I've played for about 6 hours or so, and the game crashed twice, after which the noise came… But when I turned off my pc /to go to sleep/, and then on it fixed itself

what seems to work for certain for me is to put the sound effects at 0, so the noise stops;
and then restart the game, and bring it back up after I load my save… I restarted the pc just in case
