No, that happened already with ME2. That game was almost nothing like ME1, and instead of improving the RPG aspects as they should have, they dropped them in order to make it Gears of War with a million retcons.

Not a reboot, just casualization. Andromeda, on the other hand, drops the setting, the conflict and the characters. ME2 just changes the focus and mechanics.

Remember when Insomniac chose EA to publish Overstrike FUSE and we started to assume EA would buy them out and do the same thing to them? I want to say I'm glad that didn't happen, but Insomniac hasn't been making anything noteworthy for a whole now so it almost feel like it still happened…
