Space Engineers/Early Access Scam

I actually don't care. I always buy EA games when I decided they are worth it.
It was decent game and cheap enough to buy already.
It is good thing because even biggest update they made the were planets. They are fucking unplayable unless I upgrade my PC. Since I bought the game I haven't really saw any other stuff.

Oh yeah and mining is shit. When will they add either mining laser or shields so I won't destroy my drill each time I don't pay attention?
I will need to rely on mods, won't I?

Although it is actually a scam, if they just bug fixed all the time you'd be complaining that the game is shovelware or that they abandoned the game

Is it true these fucks wrote their own physics engine because they didn't renew havok?

I bought Space Engineers, and I don't give a shit, because when I bought it, I bought it for the game that it was.
Hell, until yesterday, I didn't even realize it was still in beta. My brother pointed it out. For some strange reason I thought it was a subtitle.

Anyway, point being, if you're they type what buys early access shit for what they're promising you, you're a retard.

I recognize it has major problems, but singleplayer is stable enough. That's what I play, anyway, since multiplayer is retarded most the time.

I wouldn't say it's a scam. When I first played it it was a kind of fun space ship builder with the added fun of driving the ship you built into a meteor at speed to see what would happen. Now it's much more fleshed out game and they just keep adding shit. I wouldn't say an early access game that is still being developed is a scam. It's shit like Towns where they just give up and walk off with the money once sales die down which is a scam.

Last I played this it was a buggy, unoptimized mess that would hover around 45 FPS with massive dips

First games I think of when I hear early access are Killing Floor 2 and Dayz. It's good to see other early access games follow the same suit

I remember when anons here were hyping that up, and to it's credit it IS a decent Battlefront replacement, but it just didn't have the marketing to have a decent playerbase. Same issue Pic related had.

Yeah no shit that is what everyone with a modicum of rationality was saying when this whole garbage trend started. All of this shit is entirely the buyers fault, early access wouldn't be a thing if it wasn't supported so much by people who have no self-control and simply must play some unfinished piece of shit over the millions of other finished great games ever simply because of some unforseen concept which is to hard to pull off 9/10 and that is why they can only get them working in the shittiest messes. It's just the same deal as people who pre-order stuff like No Man's Sky you let your hope and hype take control while reality stays in the backseat with great games looking at you in perplexing repulsion.

I have a friend that is a developer, he adds lots of irrelevant shit to his program because it's easy to implement small APIs and then calls it a new upgrade and charges an update fee, even banned several of his customers from an online share service just because they had some errors in the documents they shared, he's a cool guy but an asshole dev

They actually just accepted some shitty deal from SONY along with a bunch of other smaller devs, not sure of the exact terms but it's at the very least timed exclusivity.
