I haz questions (M'lord) [Ed]. [Warband]
please help me I fucking want to gitgud

I'm over 500 reknown and have yet to work for a noble as a mercenary, about 80 days ago someone invited me to be a vassal but I wasn't interested in the Kingdom and fucked off (reloaded) and now nobody is talking to me even 120 days in. How do I king of world?

I have a ton of questions as I'm on my first play though ever.

Is charisma and leader skills an absolute dump stat on NPC heroes or will they lead later on?

Why is it so fucking hard to access my sword and shield on certain maps my mouse wheel just fucking can't find it.

Why is inventory management such shit?

What is the balanced weapon and why is it worth 3 times regular price to have one? (What is unbalanced?)

Is one class of weapon OP compared to others? I always believed sword and board was the shit but now I'm looking at those long fucking polearms and 2-handers.

Equipment prices are a bit weird, like "Lordly" armor might give a +2 bonus on a 45 point piece of gear and a "Rusted" might give a -2 bonus, but wtf the cost is 50k, 10k and 5k? For real?

How do I get the ladies? Seriously, How?

Join a faction. Befriend them. When you have enough supporters (Lords with at least 20-30 i-like-you-points) start a revolution and overthrow the king. Alt. Befriend as many lords ass you can. Capture a Fief and ask your friends to join your faction.

Early game they're a waste, late game they're essential.
It's not shit, just really, really basic. Like most of the game.
Lordy is the best tier in the game, so naturally it'll cost the most. 2-4 points don't make difference, but if you're a optimization freak you will want to get the highest point weapon/armor. Prices are a bitch, but once you have several fiefs you'll get so much money you wont know what to do with it.
Don't be a beta. Win a tournament and tell some skank that you won it for her. Once you get to first base it's easy as grinding, just wait for her to call you. You get bonus points with her just for showing up.

You could have went to the wiki, but thanks for letting me spoonfeed you.

It's a long Journey becoming a King It's an even longer Journey becoming the King of world
Heroes can lead IF you become king one day and give them a fief
idk
idk
Balanced weapon is just a modifier to a weapon, there are other modifiers too they improve the weapon to some degree balanced weapons are faster.
every weapon has it's advantages and disadvantages, it also depends on the situation you are in and if you are riding a horse or not.
yes for real
Confessing your love to them and being alpha enough for the father to accept you as her husband>>12483323

Wow I super appreciate you guys thanks so much!
The faq pages are funny and informative and thanks for the tips, it's too bad I fucked up OP and didn't get the game name in the fucking title, but it took me like 20 times before it would even go through because 8ch hates me.

1) Faggot, find a marshal or king and offer your sword in service. When you take over an enemy town/castle, request to get it. Be sure to have the highest contribution to capturing it. Capturing solo almost guarantees you get it.

2) Listen to the gossip and what the ladies can tell you about other nobles (their personality). Find the best and become buddy-buddy with them.
You can ask them to support your claim to get a fief.

3) Charisma has an effect on their own armies, if you make them noble and give them fiefs, IIRC

4) Always scroll mouse backwards for shield. Forward to switch weapons

5) Elaborate. It ain't hard.

6) Balanced weapons are faster to swing. Speed is life.

7) You don't know how to fight. Every weapon can be deadly. Two-handed sword is the golden middle between fuck-off huge damage and speed. But you want good armor to use it with.

8) Game cost balance. Live with it.

9) To get ladies:
- Get honor and renown.
- Join a tournament. Win tournament.
- Attend feast. Talk to ladies at the feast. Dedicate your victory to a good one.
- Butter up her parents.
- Express your admiration for the lady.
- If all goes well you'll be allowed to visit her.
- learn poems from bard in taverns
- WOO HER
- ask father for hand in marriage.

PROTIP: rescue noble in prison is the best way to get reputation with the entire family. You can do it without getting a quest.

Why are you niggers entertaining a CLEAR AS FUCK newfag OP?

Stop normalizing newfaggotry.

You don't have any friends, nobody likes you.

Because there are no good threads that I'm interested in right now and the warband general is ded.

Then report this one and create an actual thread.

Theres a fucking normalfag raid going on right now if you havent noticed.

Things to remember:

I don't remember the last time we weren't raided.

Raid thread along with the Steam thread.

fucking stress man, first tourney ever how fucking far does it go jesus, i keep getting totally fucking shit weapons compared to my competition and always shit i don't want.

Thats the last tier mate. Bring home the dosh.

holy fuck that took forever, i've never even used a lance before that and i wasn't even that good with a horse (like i didn't know you could slow down and turn faster before this and i was running in circles fo-fuck-n-eva before i figured it out)
victory, ordained by God!

Can you be a mercenary in gekokujo or am I stuck having to choose between being a retainer or a vassal?

Playing gekokujo suguroku, with some persoal edits.

Why the fuck is it taking so long for me to mary my lady?

Her father said he would hold a feast but its been over 20 fucking days and the dude is just fuckin chillin with my money…

Also are there any better mods than suguroku? Ones that idk maybe add trees or proper topology to Japan?

...

Remove horsefucker.

I'm just getting into the M&B experience and I'm wondering if i should play with mods?
I hear the dickplomacy mod isnt bad
http ://www.moddb.com/mods/dickplomacy
Should i consider it for my first play through?

Last time i played vanilla M&B warband, horse archery was OP as fuck.

It's the way the game is meant to be played.

It falls off during sieges or when you get competent cavalry to chase them down.

my opinion is every single game that you ever play should first be played unmodded for various reasons.
1) get the original devs vision and gameplay.
2) get a bunch more experiences with mods after.

If you really can't wait to try mods just go with Floris. It's mostly vanilla with various tweaks, there's a reason it's called babies first mod.

Use that, battlesizer and TweakMB to change things that annoy you on the fly (it's compatible with savegames). I'd also shill for arena overhaul as a lovely little visual mod but that's more personal taste.

Or if you want to go vanilla definitely get battlesizer and TweakMB. The former just lets you have larger battles while the latter lets you change values for things like quest rewards or prevent companions bitching at one another which used to have to be done with text file editing.

Yes, all vanilla + diplomacy interactions.

Try Arudamod/Daiymo edition. It uses Sugoroku as a base and adds a ton of mostly quality of life shit on top.

Amen.

Why would you want companions to love eachother? Why not gather the groups that enjoy or don't mind each other's company?

Single player fucking sucks, modded or not. Play MP like a real man.

i presume so that you could have everyone in your group at once all 24ish?

oh, wait there isn't that many only 16. how tough would 16+1 level 30s be?

I love having just companions. Cheap as fuck, nobody dies, strong as fuck (once leveled enough). Also, if you ever do need an army, all their training skill adds up to quickly push past the first few tiers.

Also, with enough charisma, I believe you can get the companions to stop complaining about each other. I think I had them all in my party at some point, but it might just be that those I lost early before I had good charisma were never to be found again in the game.

You can have everyone regardless of your CHA but their bickering ruins your relationship so it's only a question of time before someone deserts. God bless the ((we hang deserters in this company)) tweak.

but can anyone confirm that charisma can nullify that? (desertion)

anyone got mod recommendations with the best combat?
gekokujo has amazing sieges, but open battles feel a bit bland

It gets annoying fast. Also you're just never going to take certain companions because they conflict with more useful choices. If they'd added more variation to the system or ways to manage conflict (perhaps give them a greater share of the loot or somesuch, I don't know) then fair enough but in vanilla it's just a hard 'you can't have these two faggots in the same party' and that's boring.
Regardless TweakMB lets you decide for yourself. It also lets you change the faction colours back to what they used to be in OG M&B and that pleases my autism.

No matter what Charisma you have one of the companions who hate one another will eventually leave.

It depends what you want really. The summaries in would be a good start, you could also look out the Star Wars mod (though I forget if they finally ported that to Warband).

Is modDB better than Nexus cause nexus doesn't seem to have shit for MB and I'm not really familiar with modDB

also can't find this shit on ModDB

Well, I finally found TweakMB google is your (((friend))) but sadly that shit is so out of date, the faction color thing was really nice to see but it doesn't even have all the factions or enemies. Looks like this mod was abandoned like 5 years ago. Unless someone has an update.

TweakMB is simply a newfag friendly alternative to text editor as in you can change most of the shit manually

Is Viking Conquest Reforged Edition any good?

It was a mess when it was first released, but the campaign has been fixed. I personally though it was good.

Remove Rhodorks

yer a feg

Any word on dickplomacy integration with major overhauls? weeb& user, please tell me you made any progress?

To be fair you're both fags.

If you keep calling me a fag i'll be forced to suck your dick.

Not even as a prank.

This place is going the same way as cuckchan where spoonfeeding and newfaggotry are encouraged. You can't fight it.

summer is actually here

Just because the internet is full of giant cunts doesn't mean everyone on the internet is a giant cunt. I suppose that is why that guy took a minute to post and reply with some good advice. Maybe when you're old enough being a giant cunt will become and old thing, but most likely most of y'all will die giant cunts.

So I started a new game because my first try I think I built up a bit shit and I also really like the idea of having all companions available with tweakDM.

45 days in, just hit level 7 and got all 16+1 heroes.

of course they are all naked, low level scum atm without even horses most of them. my plan is to farm armor and helmets from sea raiders, horses and bows from desert bandits.. does any other spot have good shit to farm?

You're far better off buying some decent gear with tourney money and then building up their (and your) proficiencies by bullying say sandnigger villages. Also looting money is nothing to sneeze at.

The main issue of hte main game is poor troops trees and choices. Mods like Floris or PoP or others really breathe in more life.

Dickplomacy is great, but it doesn't add any new units or items, which is it's biggest flaw.

Speaking of which, playing Dickplomacy with a female char, named Domina:
- mercing around, capturing/freeing a lot of peasant girls for my harem (shit female unit diversity and availability)
- find a cute Swadian lady with a HUGE family
- do work for family members
- mostly for my targets father
- use my charms on the girls father (he caves in immediately)
- later he asks me to escort his wife
- use charms on her while half way, fug her in my tent.
- fugged both her father and mother, now for her.

Actually, I think this image might be more appropriate:

You can get mods from the Taleworlds forum.
mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1751
nexusmods.com/mbwarband/mods/1751/?

Looking at it the latest version is 5.09 (it certainly work with WB for me), the one on the Nexus is outdated.

that thing is shit because every single ranged weapon has shit accuracy
only good because gambling card games

ac 40 helms
ac 37+? chainmail with ac 12 legs
nomad bows
free horses
>how is it easier to win a tourney for

Get of your dragon-dildo, faggot.
You have no power here.

Horses and horse archery in particular kinda sucks on companions with a ton of required skills AND attributes. 37 is still fairly weak against kingdom troops, bows and starter horses are cheap anyway.

I'd say kit them as heavy infantry; short b. a tall shield and possibly throwables or arbalests. High defense, high damage that likely ends in kills/prof gain, captives, while still fairly cheap. It also makes sense to put immortals up front than behind with your more vulnerable archers.

Whatever works for you, though.

Any recommendations for a total conversion mod?

All "RPG"-ish games suffer the same silly thing, You can kill 20 guys with plate mail and get zero sets of plate mail to loot. Well, I killed 20 guys with horses and got zero horses.

Well, "Fire and Sword" and "Vikings" are the official DLC did you try them? I didn't

You peaked my curiosity and I found this Japanese conversion mod a lot of people have mentioned on Holla Forums already.
Gekokujo
nexusmods.com/mbwarband/mods/3816/?

FUCK
I just had one the angriest and happiest moments in game playing history. After a hundred hours of playing M&B, I discover.. cntlr+leftmouse for looting.

Original MB only, lets you be a necromancer and explore other myths.
Fantasy, large map, lots of waifu units. Someone needs to port dickplomacy to it.
Light fantasy, difficult in the beginning.

Ctrl+space on world map.

how do i make an army git gud with spears?
i'm playing calradia 1050 as sarranids, and early on most of their units are using spear+shield
however neighboring factions use shield+1h/2h, and they're destroying me despite formations and shit
and the only archers for a while are skirmishers

the horses ran away :^)

thankfully I already knew that one.

If you give an NPC a bastard sword or something that is one or two handed and a shield, how do they pick how to wield it? I want them to use the shield.

i don't know, but you could just fill up their inventory with useless shit that they'll never bother using, so they'd only use the sword+shield

You obviously breached that plate to get to them.

being a newfag it's really a pain in the ass trying to decide how to allocate my stats, especially on my "character" because he's responsible for all the leader skills, and needs to be swole enough to win tourneys. what kind of levels would i be looking at when the map is cleared. right now i'm at level 22 and all i have is one fucking village, but someone said levels past 30 are slow as shit or something? how high should i pump my chr? i'm at 17 now obviously next level is 18 but after that wut-do?

You forgot to mention, PoP has LOTS of new units and lets you create (and train) your own custom Knightly Order (which can end up OP as hell).

It also has some VERY tough enemies and huge armies

Lurk more.

STR isn't really useful beyond the minimum required for some weapons.

INT gives you more skills, AGI is good for mobility and weapon skill (but you'll get those as you fight), CHA is for leading armies/persuading.

Normally, I prioritize INT and AGI, though CHA might be worth more than AGI

Somefag already posted a picture guide. Let that sink in for a moment, a goddamn step-by-step picture guide and a dozen or so replies on that question are insufficient for this cunt.

This isn't even a question of spoonfeeding but either retardation or attention seeking, and both cancer of the highest magnitude.

angry broh? tell me which picture talks about max level and end-game stats? i read all that shit, it's very good shit, but it doesn't cover this shit. don't be such an angry faggot.

...

so, a picture instead of an actual fucking answer.
gtfo

No user, fuck whoever pays your bills and leaves you lazy, bored and with enough free time to shit up this thread and this place.

...

and how does that answer the question, "what should the expected max level be at the end of the game?" is the internet really so toxic that such a simple question can trigger some faggot so hard.

Mount and Blade Multiplayer wasn't made for e-sports so it's not that worrying.

...

AGI also slightly increases melee weapon speed, not sure about ranged though.

He asked for total conversions, that should be a given.
Fair enough, Persino has a gimped version now as well.

I thought they were keeping with their toaster friendly mindset?

Was being off by (1) part of your plan?

How many men do you have? The more guys in your retinue, the more the loot gets divided.

...

Bannerlord better have a butter addicted Lord.

After I download I spent an hour playing Gekokujo japan conversion mod and all I can say is "fuck yeah" after I invest a million hours in Warband vanilla I'll give it a serious effort, the graphics are super comfy to boot, I also tried "Fire and Sword" and it looks fun. It sucks a little that I found this game years after release but whatever, enjoying the everlasting fuck out of it now.

I need to try this again at some point. First impression wasn't strong.

it won't, but it will have denuvo

Why not right now faggot?

post your desired butterlord mods:

Busy with other games.

I want

That's about it, i hope the crossbow/firearm system, if they have it, won't be as shit as it is right now.

...

there is a good napoleonic mod and there's a crusader mod

have you heard of viking conquest?
I don't get people want WW mods they don't fit the gameplay at all.

I will kill you

Really? Didn't know modders were that quick, shit man Bannerlord isn't even out yet and they already got mods.

oh my bad I thought we were disscussing warband

Let that be a lesson. Lurk moar faggot.

A mod with an extremely generic fantasy setting essentially based upon Dungeons and Dragons-era fantasy, with countless of dungeons to enter and explore, fighting a large variety of monsters both humanoid and non-humanoid. Best we have right now is Chronicles Of Might and Magic and to a lesser extent The Last Days.

They actually are "planning" mods for it.
moddb.com/games/mount-blade-ii-bannerlord/mods

I can understand planning a conversion mod, but a retexture mod? The textures look fine to me in the videos.

Well, he mentions Floris, so he probably wants to apply a disgusting brown smog paint brush to everything, make every filthy and needlessly dark, etc.

*make everything filthy

WFaS is quite neat, actually. But the map is utter trash (open terrain without end). Same goes for VC. It has absolutely great mechanic and a fucking great setting, but the map is just god awful.

That's a shitty explanation for what the game does because there are indeed blunt weapons which will either dent or at most crush the armour. Not to mention the fact that some units such as the Sword Sisters may or may not be wearing helmets at times allowing for easy decapitation, leaving the armour intact.

But user, decapitation was added in viking conquest only. :^)

Any mod that lets you have lamias or centaur companions?

chronicles of might and magic SHOULD have centaurs, but i have no idea if it actually does
it got all the other creatures right, so i'm assuming that centaurs work

We were talking about butterlord you fuck.

Since you were talking about warband, yeah it really didn't fit in well with that shitty firearm system, hopefully they'll make it better if they put in crossbow/firearms in Butterlord, but considering it's early dark age themed setting, i doubt they'll put them in. Not that i watch the development video blog thingy

That'd be quite difficult to get working in sieges if it's made the way I'm thinking.

...

god dam it, she's betrothed now.
fucking this world.

Lewd

nigga is that real? if it is, what mod is that?

Can't you fight her suitor or something?

just because there's a goalie in net doesn't mean you can't score, you pussy

Chronicles of might and magic

what the fuck

...

What are you, gay or something?

Check the render as in whether it's dx9 or what.

here we go

Seems clear-cut to me.

...

IS THAT A SHADMAN ASS I SPOT? BECAUSE THAT WOULD EXPLAIN YOUR OFF THE CHARTS FAGGOTRY

Medieval life is tough, most women worked in the fields from the age of 5, you can't expect them to have good looking hands.

It is what it is.

I've no idea. I see someone post a decent ass and that's all the reason I need for me to save it.

shadman

Thicc is the eye of the beholder?

Sure looks like it.

...

Shadman is shit tho and if you think that picture is a leftard meme you need to gas yourself newfag

ахаха сука блядь дебил

So..
vassal and traitor later
or
make own faction and suffer like a bitch
?

Do a bunch of tasks for lords and the king you intend to join and build your reputation with them for later since its easier to do chores before you become a vassal (it can be lords from any faction really), become a vassal, since you're well acquainted with the king and maybe a couple lords in that kingdom you will get some land, when you have a decent chunk of the kingdom defect and you'll inevitably bring some lords with you. Then you can work on conquering the rest of the world.

I was hoping to go around the map helping out the nobles and farmers to grind faction. However the Sultans and Veagens are getting too big and the Khanate is down to 1 city and 1 castle, so I vassal'ed with them right off.

400 days of play in a nutshell

best i've one is conquer all the sarranid lands in about 300 days only to realize that it was a huge waste of time because their units are absolute fucking garbage
i ended up dumping all my money in mercenaries instead

I really like sword sisters, they have fast horses, armor, sword and board with crossbows, but when I read mercs cost extra money (+50%) I started trying other units. It seems like every other kind of troop dies more often than them though so I feel they are worth it. I don't think lances or spears as a main calvary weapon works too well against a rush of sword and boards. I might be wrong though, just my gut feeling, I'm on my first game so IDK shit really.

They do but when you sign up as a merc your employer kingdom ponies up their pay. Honestly, the only three fuckups you can't fix are losing a follower because he left you or you made him landed, eloping with a girl when you could marry someone with a huge family or a pretender and extensively raiding the area you plan on conquering later.

Trying to go independent before your prepwork is ready deserves an honorary mention but it's not something you can't recover from.

I keep reading about getting married to a large family but I don't know why that is an advantage exactly?

better relations with the whole family
you need those if you want to desert your factions and not be alone while everyone is declaring war on you

also for pic related, couched lance damage is when you get hit with a lance from charging cavalry, it's supposed to one shot
if you don't want to go insane, get a mod, any kind of mod, since 99% of them make it so you don't immediately retreat if you get knocked out
just get diplomacy or something

If you elope you get some renown, some infamy and some RtR. But if you butter up to the father and marry the little slut the proper way, the dad and the rest of her family are waaaay more likely to support you in any civil war type situation and will form the solid core of your new kingdom. Also they get +monthly relation.

It's not one hit but it comes close. And you can counter it with shields, streams, any other map geometry or better yet a proper schiltron.

You get some RtR for regular marriage also.
I just got married a couple of hours ago, she only has a father and a no-fief brother. I only rushed into this whole mess because the Khanate was really close to being wiped off the map and I didn't want my future competition to get OP, though it seems like it was a lost cause because the other kingdoms are shifting as well. I've snagged a town (Tulga) and castle (Tulbuk) in about 2 hours of play, on the bright side, her father owns the castle (Distar) that seperates my own properties, still I would love that sweet monthly large family faction gain..

Yeah, obviously. But the real advantage of vanilla marriage is the family modifier when applied to a father, three uncles and two brothers or something similar. Going for a cityfag father or a female pretender with diplomacy is also interesting.

But I hope you stacked your RtR by say sending the companions on missions or recruiting more good lords will be a pain and a half.

Grab a fucking musket and fall in line. Bayonet fucking everything. Press C for glory and don't get routed by Calvary.

Yes, I have 48 RTR but I've only got 3 friends and 2 male family members. fuk.

The other half of the explanation is that your soldiers get a share of the loot.
You get tripple share, companions get double share, the rest get single share.
You want more loot? Use less soldiers.

If you can survive until you poach a couple of good lords like honorable and martial you'll be golden. But no more mongol crossbreeding next time, OK?

only thing I want from Bannerlord.

I decided to reload to the save just before joining as a vassal and instead sign up as a mercenary, I'll lift the seige on Tulga, save their dumbass so the Sandniggers don't get OP and after 30 days I'll go find that Nord honey who has six male relatives and is unmarried.

hey, wait a minute.. if you marry a girl who has 8 relatives, do you get relationships with their uncles and cousins as well?

also if they have a sister, and brother-in-law, at most i would assume you would get a sister-in-law?

polite sage

What if he sucked the genie's dick for free? Would he still be allowed that wish?

In warband bitches only for one use, making a family, just like real life, being related to them won't do shit for you unless it's a sister and they marry a man.

How good is that Red Wars mod? I always wanted a WWI esque mod, but it looks eh. Any mods that alter the game significantly like gekokujo?

fuck it, nobody has the answer so I'm assuming that you don't inherit uncles and cousins through marriage because when I look at NPC lords I don't see these relationships cross over. A father and a brother is good enough.

Look up Parabellum.

Look up Google.

Am I the only one who likes Vaegirs? It seems like everyone is hating on them.

Oh for fucks sake.

All (male) relatives should get a monthly improvement tick. I'm not entirely sure how the persuasion mechanic weights in with uncles but it should still be easier to manage them.

This was the same dialogue (except likely it was a differently leader) as the last M&B OP pic, but now it happened to me. Ugh. Gonna give it a shot.. I've got two castle within a couple hours ride and a town nearby another castle in the same area would make a pretty good triangle of justice. (eventually)

I like their armors and some of their weapons, but I can never play as their faction's fighting styles of shieldless infantry and foot archers. I just end up doing a Vaegir-looking soldier who fights like a different nationality, like a Nord Huscarl, Rhodok crossbowman, or horse archer with Vaegir armor and shield instead of their typical loadout.

I hope we get a mythological creatures mod in M&B2, shit would be great

garbage

Please elaborate.

I'd say the crossbows are fine, but the way guns are done is pretty weak. They're not like the guns you get in first person shooters.

...

I was looking into parabellum, but it looks like there are no download links on moddb anymore or other websites. It seems like it got a copyright claim or something and fags from cuckchan got mad at the mod creator for some reason. Do you have a link to 1.2?

You're both faggots and you know he's right.

can any of you guys recommend some graphics mods? i'm mostly looking for something that makes the weapons not look like complete and utter shit.

There are none except for calradia retextured and mod is barely finished.

They also brought over that warhamer fantasy mod to warband, but that is pretty mediocre at best. Siege mechanics are decent though.

I just found the reason why thel inks were deleted is some asshurt goon and commie modder got mad about Parabellum borrowing some of his outfits from his mods as placeholders. Later on more goon and commie fags tried to say how no one should ever use assets from a free mod despite the people being credited. They even started to talk about how superior they were with their uncompleted mods.

Fuck, I had this exact problem, but I can't remember how it got fixed. There was an issue with property ownership or war, I think.

commando.com.ua/mb/modswarband/3723-mod-the-parabellum.html

This shady cyka blyat website has it.

Daimyo edition was considered shit I thought?

You're probably thinking of gekonew or whatever it's called. That mod was a 15 minute /vg/ edit of 3.1 done in morgh's.

I thought it was gekokujo with issues. Mainly about bugs and something to do with guns being useless. I may be wrong though. What does it add?

I've no idea where you got that from. I mean, sure, a bow will probably outperform due to power draw and being usable in tournaments but even sugoroku added some fun shit like horse friendly carbines or heavy guns.

Why was it so disappointing?

The single developer spent all his time making really nice models, and pretty much no time bug testing and making sure things were fun. Bayonet attack animations were completely fucked and you couldn't do damage with them when it first came out, that's how little he tested it.

It doesn't even let you be a soldier in the army, what's the point?

Not to mention how it is near dead. This is one of the faggy asshurt goon mod creators that got really mad about The Parabellum mod having some of his outfits as placeholders. He ended up, along with that guy who made the blood and iron mod, ended up getting the mod deleted through DMCA shit and made comments about how they will never let anyone use their intellectual property or let The parabellum ever be released again even if the mod got rid of their assets by DMCA bullshit. They even tried to mock the kid who made parabellum by creating a ton of fake accounts to get him banned and hinted at trying to dox him.

It all boiled down to they wanted to enforce bullshit against a popular upcoming mod not part of their circle jerk. The fact they wanted to try and push how they are working on their previously dead mods again is laughable.

Jesus Christ, why is the modding community for Warband so fucking autistic.

I have no idea. It honestly pissed me off how they acted like the guy who made parabellum stole everything when all the plane and tank shit was original. Shit, they even tried to say some of the shit he stole was from them when the original assets came from freeware outfit packs. Here is the thread on it where they try to say their dead mods make them better than everyone else and shit on the parabellum and brag about getting it taken down. Then they pull the whole goon, "I am not mad" about how they will never share their models since sharing mod assets is terrible for business and their intellectual rights over free fucking mods.

Read this and get angry at how goon mod creators and clique bullshit try to enforce their own garbage and ruin other mods gaining popularity. Bonus points for the self-described communist saying the guy can use his mod assets to later recant the claims.
forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=361420.0

I take it you've never been around twcenter?

I'll take your word for it, I don't like making myself get angry.

All I know is the fag who makes the Old West mod is literally retarded.

The guy who made the old west is also tied to the Blood and Iron team as well which further shows how retarded he is. A lot of old guard mod creators for warband are now leaving due to this shit and all the clique bullishit forming where people try to fuck over other people for daring to have placeholders in a submod.

At least I have gekokujo and suvarnabhumi mahayuth. I still am having trouble finding a safe download for the 1.2 version of the Parabellum. The kid who made The Parabellum apparently was 16 years old and is kind of hiding out since the fags have been going after him to dox him.

Sure, but you really shouldn't listen and believe. For example I believe that only TaleWorlds can lodge a proper DMCA in this situation, what that faggot most likely did was whine to the moddb mods and they suspended pending investigation of their ToS violation.

They talked about filing false DMCAs and rights over content to the Moddb staff. They also reported the mod to EA since the Parabellum had some stock gun sounds from Battle field one and older battlefield games.

Personally I don't give a flying fuck about "digital rights" in any shape of form including some of the shit I did over the years. I figure the law of rare pepes applies, if you put it out there - it's out there.

With that said I see you pushing a narrative and I'm seeing a halfchanner dumb enough to get caught reusing textures aka doing probably the biggest faux pas in the cirklejerk that is the modding community. Now, I skimmed thru that thread without seeing any DMCA claim talk but if you want to put them down a peg and have solid evidence I'd suggest reporting them to one of the turks as they really don't like that shit.

A lot of modders are pretty autistic about stuff like this. It seems to mostly come from the artsy, creative types. I've done some modding myself for a different game, and I can almost understand where they're coming from. You want to be recognized for your work, and it's annoying if people just take your stuff and put out really shitty mods with it (not that they seem to care about Gabrilduro doing it). With my stuff, people just asked nicely if they could use assets, and I said "yeah." You help people out, and they help you out.

If you don't like the Russian website, there's a mega upload of it.

mega:#!vwNlVTaK!lwtK9-TRW7Gyycs_gvWdkO355KhiZeh2wonb9rOoFug

Otherwise you're probably not going to find it anywhere else.

On the subject of The Parabellum, does it have the freelancer mod in it?

when you repackage a bunch of mods and add some shit work yourself it's bound to annoy people. mods always have contact info, if you don't ask you shouldn't use it. someday, should you ever make anything you might understand this perspective.

It's a free mod, taking assets from another free mod. Maybe if either or both were charging for mods.

Maybe then I can see it, but other than that, who the fuck cares? Only autists would care about that. If I created something, and I left it there for free, and if someone else used that free asset that I created, whatever dude.

Goddamn that's cancerous OP

Oh, I love that shtick. I really do. Especially when some whinny leaderfag that wasn't really involved with the assets starts crying foul. Now the guy that did the PoP revamp had the right idea, leak it with as little personal information as possible and laugh at the fallout.

Mostly narcissistic assholes. On the other hand take Paxton for example, I don't like the guy but I can respect him for saying: "Look, do what you want with this just please don't name it Fall from Heaven 3+. That's my thing."

Well that sums it up pretty good.

If I fuck up the first charge I always just scum it by luring them into a corner and parking my horse behind them so they can't move while I kill them

at this point in the game i really wasn't familiar with horse mechanics, like s+a or s+d to turn fast. also he didn't even have a horse, he had a sword and shield or a two handed sword. the main problem was i couldn't turn around to charge him and ran around in circles for 10 minutes until i figured it out.

well, i hear a lot of excuses maybe they are legit, but i don't think stealing someones assets is really cool especially when it's just a matter of giving credit or contacting the original author.

Yes their aesthetics is the reason I like them as well, I play native expansion so they have shields, weak ones, but shields non the less. But I'm getting quite seriously beaten by Khergits since now they also have throwing weapons and are good at attacking and defending castles, plus super fast on the map.

Speaking of throwing weapons, are they worth investing skill points into them?

Klethi is the only hero that comes with thrown and no power draw, while Rolf has a couple point in both. I kept Klethi using thrown attack assuming some good loot will eventually drop and I might as well have someone to give it to, while Rolf and the others all went bow. I certainly respect NPCs for thrown weapons, a couple times it has really fucked me up, up close that shit hurts to no end, but it seems you are going to be lucky to get 5 thrown weapons in a stack and with their super short range it becomes an issue. I would say for your main guy that throw is a bad idea, due to being the designated sniper half the time due to the AI.

At any rate you better only pick one or the other and I really wish we had 5 hand slots, 4 just isn't enough.

I would also like to know if anyone actually goes with two-handed weapons, I think sword and board just offers too much to consider it.

Has anyone played 1860s old america? It is a pretty good mod and small forces are sometimes better just due to being able to organize them more.

Yes I do since why not. Like you said we need 5 slots, if we had them then I would go with archery, but not it doesn't seem worth it since you're only left with two slots. I usually go with a one-handed blunt weapon, shield, lance and a two-handed sword. I want to give archery a try, but God do I want to keep my lance.

That is so interesting because all of my heroes are all lance-o-less, I couldn't give up the power of ranged attacks to carry another, bigger weapon.

I swear to fuck what are the fucking mods even doing

But it gives you a big advantage when on horse and you can carry a crossbow in your inventory for the sieges.

tldr; talking about Holla Forumsidya on Holla Forums should have a NOFUN allowed policy.

Well more micromanagement and less overall skill concentration though, but if it works for you. I'm a full on retard trying to lance shit though.

I guess, but it doesn't take forever to become efficient with bow? How much skill points do you have to invest before you're sniping enemies from your horse? What causes you problems with lance? I think as far as you have enough room it's easy to use, much easier than bow at long distances.

Absolutely. A two handed mallet or comparable b is the best weapon in the game; breaks thru block, staggers, ignores most armor. Captives. Longaxes are also interesting since they dismantle shields.

Couching is a very beginner technique since you get more attacks and longer range with normal lance stabs. And lances in general are more risky when kindgom tier pikemen outrange you, when you expose yourself to archers on your approach or when you risk getting stuck on horses and shit.

Proficiency really starts paying off at 300+ but if you know what you're doing there's no reason you can't reliably headshot as early as 100, and especially if you're standing still.

You can always swap gear in battle using your baggage.

I started doing horse archery as soon as I had 1 point in power draw and 1 point in horse archery and I never had any problem. I keep upgrading them as I go but I've been satisfied that it works from the start. Never felt it was a wasted deal, horse archers and such as especially easy to kill because they love running away from my warhorse I would go insane without a bow.

I've been buying all the morning stars and bastard swords I can. They average around 40 damage and are 1handed. (or 2handed)

Isn't that close to game over though? My 1hand is at 250 and it's basically what I've used for 600 days. It must be hard especially if you focus on 4 weapon types instead of 2.

b-but that's a nuisance…

Thank you for the answer though!

I don't think I've used a 1h/2h weapon since wb came out. Morning stars are nice but (b) still beats (p), and 2h iron mace will outclass it in all regards but shield coverage.

What's your ((weapon master)) and AGI at?

It's almost like you don't want to kill a few hundred guys by yourself.

How about sieges? What do you pick? Do you drop the shield for two-handed weapon? I go with crossbow, sword and shield, I would like to go with two-handed, but I get sniped as soon as I get close to the wall.

lol, actually the fact that morning stars are P and not B escaped me completely because I thought it said B. Well, I only have 2 of those, most of my heroes are all using heavy maces and winged maces. I've got a few swords in storage, but the extra damage never seemed to be a make/break factor in anything I've done.

Where as, having a broken shield or running out arrows really fucks up all my plans instantly.

Snipe their archers first? Preferably while they fire at friendly troops. I mean once you figure your range and have castle battlements and shit as guiding marks it's really easy to plant a few dozen headshots in row.

Now I don't know what works for you but a solid wall of companion heavy infantry up front while I flank with a mallet or comparable (b) does work. Swords, axes and especially polearms rarely have block break and will often get stuck midswing. Just be careful not to eat a phantom pike or two.

weapon master 4

No wonder you fags think guns, arbalests and twohanders suck. Try playing AGI 27ish with looting, WM and athletics up to 9.

that should be 13a not 13d (agility not dexterity)

27 agility would mean I would have about 12 in all other stats .. nah.. right now I'm my agility to 15, but after that I'm going back to str and int to 18, and I assume that will be as far as I get.

So I finally got my excuse to break away from the the horseniggers because they denied my a sandnigger castle. That I didn't even want but I knew it would be refused, by the time I got back to Khudan, next to my two well stocked castles, I had 5 lords waiting for me. horah. Now to clear some iceniggers and forestniggers.

And?

I probably go overboard but 21 (7) is really the sweetspot in both looting, proficiency being lord tier and actually staying mobile in heavy encumbrance or on armored horse. Non bowfag STR is 12-16 depending on the mod and weapons/armor you plan on using, and 8-9 INT can be raised with books, prioritized later on or supplemented with a dedicated companion.

CHA is a dump stat.

so my leadership 7 (18/3)+1 book, with it's +35-45 troops, -35% weekly cost and my (6*5) prisoner management is rather quite useless you're saying?

if your saying your re-importing to use books over and over, you might as well just hack the game.

No user, I'm saying how I'm sitting pretty in lordly or thicc plate, with plenty of spares and a stash full of silk, gold and velvet, all the while laughing at shit like and still enjoying at least ~15-20% leadership cost (9INT/3LDR 4LDR with the book or even higher with certain starts) reduction. I'm saying how it's possible to run literal circles around his men, dodge arrows or blows without having a shield up. Or how I can get the recovery on seemingly slow weapons to devo tier and kill them by the hundreds. You know, whip it? :^)

And yes, unless it's a mod with added functions like colony building, warshouts or magic you're more than likely wasting your points going above 9 in either INT or CHA before your main attribute is buffed up. And even then you're better off having a dedicated engineer/trader/doc and padding your combat abilities with those bonus INT skill points.

And frankly if you're going to call me a scrub despite me repeatedly trying to spoonfeed your dumb ass I'm also saying fuck my life.

just found out that clash of kings 4 is out
is it worth playing now? i remember the performance with more than 20 troops is horrible

no, I'm not calling you anything i just want to hear your explanation, it sounds fairly reasonable. I don't know how well I would have done with a much smaller army though, I think I would have been fucked several times especially on solo sieges.

That's because he's either lying or playing a mod that greatly empowers your character against weak enemies. The benefits of 11 leadership or 11+4 surgery are far superior. Basically your combat value decreases ~proportionally until it decreases by some polynomial. For example, early on you may be able to go 1 vs 20 against looters and kill all 20. If you fight a 10 vs 200 battle you're very screwed no matter how much power strike or ironflesh you have. If you instead do a 100 vs 200 battle, your combat performance still won't be as important as your soldiers and how you use them.

It's easy to see and experience will show you that combat skills lose their value quickly. Support skills like surgery and leadership become significantly more valuable as army size increases. unless you play native on 1/4 damage slowest AI settings, then is 100% correct.

Oh, you.

This is almost like an argument between a general who prefers to lead by example in the field and is a superb soldier even if his tactics don't get more competant than charging or attacking the flank, and a general who is in poor physical condition and couldn't lift a halberd to save his life or wear anything heavier than a tabard without passing out from exhaustion, but has a tactically adept mind and plans out things like supply lines and battlefield hospitals

Very poetic but shitbait aside LDR 11 gives what, 55 max troops while LRD (at least) 4 (3+1book) gives 20. Both truly mindblowing in battles that involve several thousand troops, right? There's also the argument of not being able to score at least 35 kills with endgame (x)bow.

Wage reduction is cool but while you get ((11)) money really shouldn't be a problem, and with LRD (at least) 4, and available from level 1 you still get 20%.

Now if you want to dip in medicine First Aid is more useful since it brings your doc(s), his straight 10(15) party skills, and all of your bruisers back on their feet.

Did anyone ever bother porting that old 40k mod?

That brought me feels user

How good is that one zombie reckoning mod? It looks kind of empty.

So my ex-king and his martial, my father-in-law dropped by my siege today to "tell me what it is" and it doesn't seem to have worked out too well for them.

I have a problem, I was under the assumption that I could change ministers freely. But, when I go back to my Capital to do that I lose a lot of RTR and it says something about unresolved dispute, but I have no open quests and my current minister has no quests for me. It looks like I take a faction hit to all 6 nobles as well. wtf?

Does anyone know will my warband (other nobles) always bail when I do something like attack 500 people with my 120? (plus should been there 3 nobles x 50) Disloyal fuckers

Ok, what am I doing wrong, Swadian knights always give a beating to my soldiers, but when I used them they don't seem as effective? Are they even worth it, since they are ridiculously expensive.

alright, so i've got a new playthrough of floris evolved
tried starting up in sarranid sultanate, but because of desert bandits being too fast i couldn't really get enough money unless i resort to raiding villages
so i went with a merchant route and slowly built up enough money
meanwhile i had around 50-70 troops guarding me from bandits, and i was a mercenary for the sarranids so i didn't really have to pay them
by now sarranids and swadians both have only half their initial lands
sarranids lost theirs to the khergits. right now we're at war with them and the rhodoks, and i just lost my army to a khergit
i've got around 7k money on me and a few companions, wat do?
i'm thinking of going to the nords/vaegirs once my contract ends since they're relatively powerful at the moment and i have good enough relations with them
i would stick with the sarranids to try and win their lands back, but they're too much of a lost cause because of their shitty military and poorly chosen neighbors

usually working for the weakest guy keeps the balance longer, i guess? if you work for the strongest guy they will take over the map (with your keen-real-human-AI)

I think they are low tier mounted knights compared to the Sultan's and Khan's knights at least.

Prophesy of Pendor 3.8.5 is looking to be edgy as fuck.

All of those are good ideas but
YES

But that's a Holla Forums meme. Those faces are from German posters.

Did that porn mod for mountain blade ever get more content?

Some more characters you will meet in 3.8.5

...

Here's a shot of Ravenstern's noble troop tree. The ones at the end are actually quite rare in lord armies, haven't seen any at least. The Fierdsvain are going to share the Khornates and Incarnates, and the Vanskerry armies are to be lead by 1 or 3 Incarnates.

having no experience what so ever with this mod, I have to say that that skill tree doesn't flow very well in a "logical" way in my humble opinion.

I hope you realize this isn't actually official. Everything after the Highlander is shit I just made up in Morgh's.

ok

Something that really bothers me is I cannot find any mention anywhere by searching on google about marriage about the benefits you get. Yes, you get married you have a free minister and +RTR but after that I can't anything that implies ANY bonus with family at all, like father in law and brother in law. Anons above have claimed it, but I'm heavily leaning to the belief that is only in the diplomacy-dickplomacy mods. My father in law is "good natured" as far as I can tell and my brother in law is selfish, they are acting in line with their personality and no other bonus (like I can't seem to max my faction with my brother-in-law). I would really appreciate some clarification from some more experienced user.

...

That's not how mods work you stupid faggot.

wtf are you talking about
mods can work exactly like that faggot
holy shit if you don't know something about asset stealing you are the newfag of Earth

testgethrw

Worst. haiku. ever.

Last time i played was sometime around 2010-2011.
What's a good vanillaish mod to start the game up again?

Dickplomacy is literally vanilla with diplomacy and rape, floris is a classic and pendor plays like vanilla except elves and shit.

Way of the Sword is good vanilla+ but I can't find a download to it anymore.

Passing assets as your own is bullshit but so is proposing that a mod can be owned. Hell, especially since some of the best mods out there are based on iterative work.

I don't remember vanilla vanilla all that well and diplomacy should be in anything worth playing but in-laws should get both a higher feasting bonus and a on wedding bonus. Additionally they don't hate your guts for stealing the bride.

I can understand if it were in regards to someone taking assets released by someone and then making money off of them, but in this case it is an autist getting butthurt over someone putting assets into his own mod. For example if there were a Star Wars mod that reskins the game and I wanted to make a Star Wars total conversion then I wouldn't be creating completely new assets just so that I could make the exact same thing. But in this case it isn't even that, in this case it is someone using them as placeholders.

Khergits are fucking trash, even in an open field they are absolutely shit because they always break formation and run around aimlessley. If you have a shield wall and some crossbowman, the khergit army will get destroyed. Very, very underpowered faction.

every one says that like it's a meme, but they train their lancers and veteran horse archers so fast, they only have these 2 elite units and I think they make quick work of open battles. Troops on foot take forever to shot down a horse archer.

I don't know the details I'm just stating the obvious (a) it's possible to steal shit and (b) I can understand why getting your shit jacked might "piss someone off".

I need to check out Dickplomacy it sounds like, but I've just taken out my 3rd king in vanilla, still got 3 fuckers left.

Breaking formation is their greatest strength honestly. I just fought a 200vs800 battle against the khergits, so long as they charged into my thick square of infantry they had no chance. It got bad around 80 vs 300 when they stopped doing that and started running around shooting their bows from a distance, and I left the battle when it got to 40 vs 140. So long as they use their ranged weapons and are scattered they can just whittle down anything you have. If you break formation then they can easily kill your isolated groups. But yeah, they generally charge straight forward and if they do then it's easy to beat them and have your knights mop up the leftovers.

Weapon Master skill…
How SLOW will gaining weapon skills be if i dont invest any points into it?

Slow

square?

I WANT TO HAVE A FEAST BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY BUTTER

Why do the mods let people access their hirelings gear? I can literally hire some guy and take his shit and let him die and make a 1000% profit.

What's the best way to gear up the companions combat-wise?

Last game i tried going full on Khergit and gave everyone a mount, some had lances while some had shield+sword some with bows too and my fearsome band of mercenaries couldnt even beat up some fucking looters on their own.

I got back into viking conquest after years of leaving it alone. It's much better now IMO with all the brytenwalda features finally done stably. But holy shit are the troop wages expensive. Two ale breweries can't even pay for the wages of ~80 mid to high mid tier troops stashed in the refuge while I carry around a 54 man low to mid tier raiding party I bring to England with my two longboats. I'm still a merc in Denmark in order to minimize troop expenditure to about 1900 a week. I'll head to Sweden after my current merc month is up and get some work under the Swedish king to make another brewery in his city. Hopefully then I'll be able to at least support my stash of those who made it past the meat grinder. It's not that making money is hard in VC, it's just annoying when you have multiple enterprises and they can't even support a small warband so that you have the financial freedom to buy more boats

I started my kingdom in Khergit area, I just went sword and shield and bow with everyone, 50% lancers and 50% horse archers. It was really easy.

Norway sorry, forgot sweden isn't in VC.

I think the problem is you just got too many troops man, as a mercenary you shouldn't have more than you can carry. Imho.

When there's bandit parties over 100 strong raiding villages, there's really a need to have a stash of stronger troops just in case the shit hits the fan.

Well, I just sailed into a neutral fort in the middle of the night and springed the king of Norway, looks like I'm getting my brewery after all.

How do you control your companions in battle?

I set my hero companions to unit type 4 so I can control them separately and use as much as possible. I never engage until the enemy is in range of my entire force. The first and second tier troops and any other infantry or archer units I happen to have I make them hold ground on the nearest hill or open terrain, if I have time I will of course place the infantry a little ahead of the archers, or hopefully a bit down on the hill so my archers can shoot over them.

When the enemy is getting into range of foot archers I will set my "heros" on them as they do not die, and sword and board is quite meatshield-ish especially on warhorses. (I highly recommend farming sea people as early as possible for chain armor and viking helmets as well as good slaves)

Just after they get into battle I release my khergit lancers and archers. (If for some cluster-fuck reason my foot units are being engaged I will 0,f1,f3) All the initial damage is absorbed by the companions, but the dps and cleanup comes the mounted khergit. These battles go quickly against any kind of bandit troop.

Is there an extra benefit other than the companions not becoming pissed if i have the ones who like each other with me?
Like Deshavi+Klethi for an example?

Also what does the companion Reputation do?

Less bitching and only relevant if you land them

without mods like tweakMB they will leave you and in certain cases leave the worldmap forever if your reputation with them falls too low. (because of their archnemisis being in the group usually)

...

good feels, I downloaded this DLC yesterday and will have a go with it eventually, my backlog of what I want to do with M&B is huge, considering the number of hours involved. (I've started a game of Fire and Sword, A Clash of Kings, Gekokuji and Napoleonic Wars while focusing on the vanilla campain.. phew)

The thing is, having a few nobles with low relationship is useful if they don't hold castles/towns, so they will be off raiding villages while you focus on important shit.

Do party skills stack or what?
As in if i have Borcha with his spotting, pathfinding and tracking on 5 and also Klethi with those on 2points will it add any extra benefit or is it just the PC skills that add bonuses to total?

I am of confutse.

No. They do not stack. It is the highest skill in the group plus a "half" bonus from the main character. For example if you have one NPC with a 6 another another with a 4, your group will have a 6, unless you also have the same skill at 2 or higher. If you have a 2 in the skill for the party would be 6+(1).

I finally found why these guys are pretty good.. they are the only blunt based recruitable horse troops except the manhunters, but those need to be rescued.

oh, wait well, marmulukes randomly spawn with maces so i dunno.

You my man, are a flooder and a moron.

In fact they are piercing morning stars and as such get counted as piercing damage. I made a mistake, I saw one knight knock someone out on a raid and drew the wrong conclusion
Going off on someone on the internet. Deep thrills for those who.. lack love, sex, money, brains, opportunity, future etc. Keep strong broh.
