I haven't ever played MTG before, and I learned how it works the first night by fucking everything up until I got it right.
If I can do it with MTG, I have faith you can do it with Tabletop games.

I learned MTG in like half an hour when I was in kindergarten, from my cousin who was only like 11 at the time and probably about as bad a teacher as you can imagine. It's different because that's a game with actual rules and order. Tabletop to me looks like an extremely complicated version of playing pretend, with all "rules" being more guidelines and whatever-the-fuck-goes. It's Calvinball with dice. It drives an autistic brain to complete madness when things are flexible like that.

Do you actually want to learn? Because it's not that hard, Holla Forums is just a stupid place to whine about not being able to play D&D with your friends.

This isn't like some kind of industrial certification. Do you understand the basic concepts of roleplaying a character? Can you do simple math? Then you do not need 20 years of experience to play D&D with your buddies or anyone else.

Man, it's not even that autistic. We're talking about D&D, which is like… Well, think of the most normalfag friendly, mainstream kind of game around. That's D&D. It's not some niche system that only dedicated outcasts teach themselves after years of study.

D&D is like Call of Duty, and Pathfinder may as well be Battlefield. They are made to be as easy to learn as possible and accessible to anyone with a grade school education. Only a few RPGs are legitimately complex, and even then, that complexity amounts do remembering to write shit down on your character sheet and then looking at it to remind yourself what abilities or powers you have.
