Or even the fact that games don't necessarily require a narrative to begin with.

Maybe its just me but Hector Hard Mode is a bitch on that game. The game itself offered a comfy enough difficulty curve, there's reasonable enough challenge your first time through. More importantly it had the best characters and storyline out of all the fire emblems I've played thus far, and the maps were actually designed in a "fun" way, if that makes sense. FE6 had better maps from a difficulty perspective but it gives me an autistic headache to play through them (specifically the one with the wyverns where you get Zealot and co.)

Darksiders 2 had pretty bad combat with having to balance the spells in. What zelda needs to do is approach weapons in either an action game style akin to sevil may cry or bayonetta (devote at least 2 buttons for heavy and light attacks for melee weapons like sword and hammer and ball 'n chain which I want to see return, or go full on souls where every weapon is 1 or 2 handed and shield parry is a necessity and dodging a must but the combat is a bit slower pace and has a focus on timing the enemies rythym. And they need to make more of the equipment usable as either weapons or in some way during combat, like say, the clawshot as a long dodge tool when the area supports it, same for the grapple hook. Twilights problem is while they tried to intoduce more techniques like shieldbash and a backslash, it was easier to brute force the enemies in the game or use tools like the bow or bombs. Bloodborne and souls had the best idea on how to deal with brute forcing: make it doable, but make it take long, and make it so it usually has the most room for failure.
