What was the last video game you really enjoyed

What was the last video game you really enjoyed.

It was good, fuck you.

Naw

...

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance has been good thus far

...

it terms of gameplay, it was much better than the original

I know it's quite recent but I just love those games.

But yotd is like 40% minigames, and they're all terrible.

It was pretty gud.

Wrong

They aren't "minigames." When you change up the gamplay (i.e. playing as Bentley), you can still collect treasure, move, and attack. Even skateboarding isn't a minigame, it's a race. Minigames are shit like fishing in a Zelda gameboy game. If you really had to press me, I'd still say Spyro 1 was the best.

...

This was one of the worst parts. Sure, those stealth takedowns looked fancy in the trailers but those insane people flailing at you like retards during the final mission sure did not.

The game isn't perfect, but it has some parts I really enjoyed, like pic related.

La-Mulana

Hollow Knight

pleased to see I'm not the only one

Nier automata, feel bad for the people who can't play.

persona 5

It's also hard as fuck.

These three.

2 wasnt bad. not as good as the 1st, but there was a wide variety of options and things you could do/places you can go and many ways to tackle any mission. but again, not as much as the 1st.
HR was much worse than both. much more linear. much more simplified, and much easier.

anyone who calls 2 trash but likes HR is an idiot.

Just the gameplay, not at all for the story (though I did enjoy James McCaffery's performance again). All the fucking unskippable cutscenes and countless on-rails bullshit segments really kill replayability though.

If not bait, how?

stop fucking posting the same picture over and over again
fuck off

...

it has nothing to do with shit games you fat wankstain
he'd be better off not using a picture

I love both sandbox and open ended games. FO4 has both sandbox gameplay and open ended quests as the side content, and IMO it was more successful than FO3 and NV in delivering sandbox experience. Plus, it looks a million times better than minecraft and plays better. My only grudge is with the framerate drops.

Nice game. I really love the gunplay.

Is this a new meme?

addendum
he's looking for reasons to post that very picture all over the place
see first pic of is from s.t.a.l.k.e.r. thread
FORCED MEME ALERT

It's colored squares and open me in winamp and shit bricks bot on the loose, just report him, maybe even globally.

The picture isn't even good in any way. It's just generic anime trash.

all you needed to say was anime, user.

thats pretty autistic lmao

the ai and field of vision of enemies were dumb in the first one, I just couldnt get into it because of it

The worst of all was the gunplay and combat. The animations are all a huge joke. Damn, that was the stiffest FPS game I've ever played. The mouse acceleration made the experience complete.

yeah deus ex is plagued with problems but a lot of people act like it's the only game of its kind. Fortunately this not the case, and there's numerous open approach games since and before it. Maybe some don't go as far as deus ex does with its internal simulation, but I'd trade being able to open up a locked vent by convincing a terrorist to knife it open through AI exploits with pepper spray a fair trade off for something like the slick combat of dark messiah or the level design of strife.

It's novel, but gimmicky in that sense.

And not really improved in HR.

Last as in the newest release or as in the last one I played physically?
The newest game I enjoyed the shit out of was Nier Automata.

Currently I'm playing through Sacred 2 with community patch and a bunch of mods and am having a blast. I want to say it's one of the most underrated games out there, but the amount of love and attention fans gave it over the years make me think it's the other way around.

Oh no, it is. The AI is also more challenging in fights and more interesting in stealth.

Oh no, it isn't. AI is still fucking blind as in the first one and retarded in stealth.

Can you name any that are on par with Deus Ex? Not garbage like the modern Far Cry games.

Silent Hill 2. I played it last year.

Undertale.

Rise of the Triad was shit. There's a DOOM mod that gives you the entire arsenal at the same time, it makes it way more fun to play, unfortunately it only has the shareware levels, the rest were made specifically for the mod.

Most recent releases that I really enjoyed?
The King of Fighters XIV, Atelier Firis, Yakuza 0 and Toukiden 2
Most recent older titles that I played and enjoyed greatly?
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Cosmic Smash, Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors and ADK Damashii

For FPS genre, Delta Force Land Warrior was amazing. SWAT 3 and Hidden and Dangerous are not my type of games, but they give you numerous approaches in finishing an objective. For non FPS, Fallout 1 and 2, Ultima 7, Gothic 2, and Morrowind offer better dialogue and approaches. I think all of these games executed the premise better than Deus Ex.

That's how the original RoT was. Not an exactly good game, but certainly lets you have mindless fun. It's very much unlike Shadow Warrior 2, which is actually Borderlands with swords, and nuDoom that sacrificed constant action for graphics, cutscenes, and dumb collectibles. It's really sad because SW2 and nuDoom have a lot of potential, yet they tried to cater to modern audience instead.

...

All you immershun faggots are playing, is a real poor first person shooter with added inventory tetris. If Warren Spector and his lackeys bundled together to make something that is actually fun and inventive to play, they would end up busted and fucked like Peter Molyjew.

Meanwhile the japanese can make a masterpiece like pic related, which introduces a new mechanic every fucking stage, and look completely normal and natural at it. SMG2 is like a hundred of the most inventive indie games from the west, spliced together, with none of the trannie bullshit that's prevalent these days.

...

Mount and Blade WB, CK2, Rustwith friends, TW Attila, Chivalry MW, Witcher 3

The games you're shitting on introduce various mechanics and let you choose which ones you want to use while taking the level design into consideration.

I'm emulating Metroid Prime right now with the FOV fix in Dolphin Ishiiruka and I'll be emulating Endless Ocean and after that Galaxy.

Enjoy being a retard I guess

Trash

That game is a masterwork, you can't go wrong.

I enjoyed Night In The Woods a lot more than I thought I would.
Before that the last game I really liked was KoTOR2. Tried it because I played Mass Effect and I heard people saying it's a disgrace to older, better RPGs. After trying a few I agreed. VtM:B is also a favorite.

The sheer size of that game is insane. I'm surprised it didn't sell enough to keep the studio alive.

...

Get in here and laugh at this nigger.

Nintendofaggots, everyone.

For me the two newest games I enjoyed were Turok 2 Remaster and Snake Pass.

Why?

Buy Zelda BoTW hadn't even beem mentioned yet.

Just report him whenever you see him. If he uses the same filename next time then even better.

I'm kind of liking DSII but there is a bunch of shit in it that really bring it down. Currently in Shrine of Amana and want to kill myself.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I have my own rare reaction images that pretty much I only use, but I only whip them out when I really need to. Posting it several times a day is fucking stupid. Fucking cancerous piece of shit eat a cyanide sandwich.

Mods fix that

I wanna start my 2nd playthrough maybe this winter. What mods should I load up>

GMDX and New Vision should be all you need. There are also some fan made campaigns with new locations and characters to check out.

t. retard who hasn't played the game

:^)

BEAM DUELING GIANT MECHANICAL FISH IN SPACE TO AVANT GARDE MUSIC

GMDX should be pretty good, since it gives changes to the AI like improved pathfinding and them reacting to dead bodies. Don't bother with Revision though.

Probably because it's relatable. I don't think I would have liked it if I wasn't in a similar situation. Except I didn't quit college yet and I'm going to a competent(I hope) psychiatrist.

never got to play the console versions

I'm liking the game but I'm not used with getting all the combos from the start, so I have no idea what to use. The game also loads too fucking fast for me to try them there.

You're a psychology major LOL. And probably a spic too because you can relate to the immigrant pandering in the game. Go fucking complain in the snake pass thread more you fucking wetback.

I had it on 360 and PS3 way back when. I can tell you it didn't age well and I'm pretty turned off. The more realistic you make a game the quicker it ages.

Psychiatry isn't psychology, psychology is actually decent in comparison.

You can press a button to stay in the loading screen after it finishes.

I remember playing through Max Payne 3 and just thinking to myself, "I really wish this was just a movie."

But you don't have all the combos at the start… The game has so many unlockable combos it's actually impossible to unlock all of them during a playthrough.

You do not get in to psychiatry but simply going to a 4 year "college", shitskin.

The Yakuza games, R6 Siege and Undertale :^)))))

Wrong ID, fam

Face of Mankind
Cultris 2 and UT4 were quite ok as well.

Systems engineering actually, I'm not a woman. The psychiatrist is unrelated to my 'education'. I'm 100% white.
Immigrant pandering?

a few recent ones (I'm aware most of these are for 3ds. I recently got CFW working):

Fantasy Life (holy fuck so comfy but for all the girly face and hair modifications I can make to my male MC it kind of sucks that they still gender segregated the clothes)
Phoenix Wright - Spirit of Justice (I have never hated a prosecutor so much as I hate Nahyuta. I think I'd almost rather deal with Eric Sparrow as a prosecutor)
Zelda - Link Between Worlds
Soul Hackers
Layton and the Miracle Mask
Lego City Undercover and Chase Begins

It's not hard to find enjoyable games in the modern era. You just have to move the fuck away from AAA

You double nigger, he didn't say he was going to be a psychiatrist, he said he was going to a psychiatrist. Probably because he's depressed or some shit, which is why the game is relatable. Didn't someone here coin a term to describe this? "Depression porn" or something. I wish I could find the cap.

Run out, then.

Played ToME the other day. It's pretty good so far.

Oh look, another troll trying to make SMG2 look bad. Not gonna work.

I don't think you know what you're talking about, friendo.

Dragon's Dogma is the spiritual sequel to the Capcpom D&D beat 'em up games

Got any more of them "depression porn" games? I heard Pathologic is pretty good.

Assassins Creed Blackflag

thought assassins creed were just meme games being pumped out every year but blackflag was legit good.

I have a feeling that I'd really enjoy this game.
IF IT WOULD FUCKING RUN PROPERLY

Fuck me dead. The gunplay is amazing, and the world is so engrossing, but I don't like spoops. I was already getting spooped by a few jumpscares, but that shit turned me right off.

I thought it was some kind of demon contortion, like the one shown in the hallway dream sequence that Alma shows you, so I just walked away from it, then the fucker launches at me and tries to kill me.

Actually, the worst one was Alma at the top of the ladder. I knew it was going to happen as I went down a ladder as I saw a webm, so every ladder, I prepped myself, and I saw her, didn't think anything of it, so I assumed the spoops were over.
THE I TURN AROUND AT THE BOTTOM AND THAT FUCKER FETTEL IS THERE

Holy shit I had to stop playing there for a while.

I don't know why I get spooped so easily. It's not even horror, as I really enjoy body horror in films and games, but just generic jumpscares frighten the shit out of me.
If someone is behind me and I don't notice them (which is rare as I'm anal about checking around me constantly), I throw a fucking punch and jump back.

Blogpost, but I really like the game.

...

I was getting into it, hoping to find a game with an actual story and characters instead of just porn, as well as good gameplay. I always liked the idea of having a "normal game with a bit of lewd slapped onto it" because I always thought it would be far more fulfilling in terms of character development and romance because the creators would be free to be more open about such things.

Well it seems that I've got what I wanted, but I've still only beaten the prologue.

Also fuck rape in those kind of games, if I have to actually get attached to characters I'm romancing in the game, then I want it to be completely vanilla. Tender love and good feels>rape

When the game is focused completely on porn, I want it the other way around though

Only problem was the length. Gotta pull out my hard drive and install the sequel.

It was an above average game that only knew the 'meme' understanding of Deus Ex (enforcing non-lethal etc) rather than what really made it great much like nuDoom was based on the fake understanding of Brutal Doom = DooM.

Play the game with music you like in the background. No atmosphere = no spooks.

I've been playing final fantasy v for the first time and its already one of my favorite RPGs

You aren't getting any fugging until like 20 hours in, then the pussy gates overflow.

Fun game though, put a billion hours into it years ago when it was a slight flavor of the month.

As I already said, I don't really mind that. I wanted the porn to be nothing more than a nice addition to the game anyways.

Purely the visuals that are spooking me. The atmosphere isn't that bad, just the turn-around-corner-and-fucking-shit-flies-at-your-face thing gets to me.

isn't Atilla super unoptimized?

I hated the cover mechanic for one.

this game really appealed to me for whatever reason, if anyone has any other point and clicks like it I would appreciate it. Really any media with an Alice in Wonderland type protagonist.

Not exactly the same but did you play Emerald City Confidential? It's an adult point and click but it's from Wizard of Oz instead. Pretty cool game.

no, but I'll check it out, thanks.

Tormentum: Dark Sorrow is fairly impressive visually but has all the depth of someone's footprint in the grass and you can complete it in two ways in around 4 hours. It's still got neat stuff in it though, worth a pirate if you want something quick.

Hard to be mad at him when he's right. He probably called you out in half of those pictures. Eat shit nigger.

THAT'S JUST A GAY RIP OFF OF SEGA'S GAME WONDER BOY@!

BACK TO TUMBLR, FAGGOT.

I second this. Its worth a look just for the visuals.

Picked it up again today after getting pulled away by work only two levels in a few months ago. Binged and finished it.

It should be cancerous - a linear shooter loaded with quick-time events. But it's an arcade shooter, and embraces itself as such. It's completely unabashed about what it is. It's stylistic, it's goofy, the mechanics are enjoyable, it's actually decently hard on the highest difficulty setting, the maps are fun, the narration is great.

One of the things that I especially enjoyed was how it tied the unreliable narrator into the gameplay. If he forgot a detail, it would just fall from the sky or poof into existence. When he clarified that he was being attacked by bandits Apache-style, not by Apaches, all of the Apaches that you're fighting turn into outlaws. There's an amazing sequence in a mine where before you enter it, the narrator says he had a couple of choices for how to enter, the most obvious one being to just walk right into the nearest tunnel. A bridge pops up, and you walk in. Eventually you end up in this long, ridiculous sequence involving a dynamite-filled room that eventually gets detonated. Some running away and shooting, and you're blown out the mountain into a lake, where a minecart falls and kills you - you even get a death screen. The narrator then points out how stupid it would be to go into a dynamite-filled part of the mine, the game rewinds to earlier, and the bridge disappears while a ladder appears instead, and the narrator starts detailing how he decided to climb the scaffolding instead.

Gameplay-wise, there's nothing that needs to be said beyond arcadey cowboy shooter. Sound was great. Graphics were pretty good. Cel shaded and very stylistic. It was pure cowboy shoot-em-up action all the way through and I loved it.

So that would be the last game I really enjoyed. Beat it about 4 hours ago. It was all too short, but there's NG+.

my biggest gripe is that the endings are kinda shit, as is the act leading up to them, and that the homage to TGTBTU was outright hamfisted

Makes it seem like 6th Gen never ended.

FEAR was the last game I enjoyed. Back when I played it I though nothing much of the game, mostly because I was more in the vibe of Unreal and Quake, but coming back to it makes me really appreciate it's details. I think it was from playing newer FPS like Battlefield 3 and 4, since those games have huge budgets but apallingly bad polish, to the point that a game from 2005 has more visceral firefights than any of those two games, or indeed any Call of Duty past 4. I don't know if it's because of the blood effects, the destruction, or the setting (boring, mundane locations getting absolutely fucked beyond belief), but FEAR stuck with me. It also helped that it's from the era that realistic/semirealistic FPS's still had fun weapons, like particle cannons, handheld howizters, or guns that shot 25mm armor piercing spikes. I got nothing against realistic weapons, but it doesn't hurt the odd railgun here and there.
Too bad 2 shat the bed and changed everything for the worse.
I remember that one very vividly. It's one of the few times a videogame made me actually jump. At least the game made an effort with it's jumpscares.

Insecurity porn. He's kind of shit at explaining it, but I get what he gets at. To be honest, something being insecurity porn doesn't make it necessarily shit, but it does make it way more insufferable when it's done badly, like in Life is Strange.

Glorious Nippon

It's fun with friends

It was faggot trash, I hope NK hits SE.

Implying you didn't savescum through every single encounter and you only got decent at Deus Ex after finishing it thrice.

Every single mechanic in Deus Ex is a variant of lock and key. And gating the skills you can use is just a rpg gimmick to dilute the experience, which was never necessary in Doom. You are literally begging for more at a game that doesn't give you everything you should have.

DEUS EX IS A SELF HELP GROUP FOR HARDCORE WANNABES

Trying to tempt fate user?

my absolute nigga. was the remake any good? still havent played it

...

This fucking game

...

It's a shame it wasn't longer but I suppose short and sweet > bloated with filler.

Heres your reply faggot

A game has to be extraordinarily shit to not be fun with friends.

My problem with it is that I literally felt like I was playing Call of Duty + Cowboys and Boss Battles. Very forgettable experience. Also, the aiming felt very floaty, I think it was mouse filters or something.

I didn't like it in the slightest, the open world was shit and had enemies attacking you every fucking second, nighttime came way too soon and you could see shit during the night even with a lantern, the missions were shit, the plot was shit.
The only thing I enjoyed was the character creation scene, having a brown midget called Schlomo follow you around was kind of amusing.

Found the casual

It's clunky. It's very obvious you're supposed to play with friends. It's stuck on GFWL.
It's the most fun I've had this entire year.

I don't know. Every game I've played in the last 5 years has been shit. All I do is play a game, run into something that's retarded, and then drop the game because I don't understand how someone got paid money to make such garbage.

Now I just sit here hoping for a new good MMO so I can maybe see some social interaction for the first time in years.

Suicide is the only answer for you

Have you considered that video games aren't for you?

I played pic related a few days ago and it was fun. Before that was Goldeneye 007 with framerate hacks and mouse injection. I never played it as a kid, and it was more fun than I expected. I can't imagine playing it normally though.

This.

why

Stop playing modern games.

Dishonored 2
So much better on the poz front than mankind divided, the only concession was the adding of niggers and female guards

Because he knows the difference between weave 1.1 and 2.0?

The Ringed City. I also enjoyed yakuza 1 up until like chapter 10 where I swapped to easy mode nd rushed through

I'm playing FTL at the moment, and I'm having fun. I have a feeling it's going to get a bit repetitive soon, but I can always go through the advanced edition shit when that happens.
Breath of the Wild was also a hoot, but I wish there were more long-form scenarios like in the previous games. Exploring the world and fighting enemies is more fun than ever, but the side quests and NPCs feel really lackluster compared to previous games. Especially since my favourites are WW and MM. Also the gerudo make my boner go wild.

You can also get the captain edition mod for ftl which adds more things, but some things break the balance of the game.

i didnt expect to enjoy it as much as i am

I really hope this doesn't become the next force nipshit meme.

Sounds pretty interesting. I don't know what's going to break the game, but it can't be much worse than zoltan cruiser with ion/missile/beam/laser setup

Bayonetta 2 that I just started playing recently.

...

Legacy of Goku 2

Yeah it runs like trash, especially in sieges.

What most people don't understand is that Deus Ex shines so much because of all the crazy shit the game lets you do. I've played through it three times now and while it is clunky as fuck, still feels different each time. This is because the levels are designed in a way to actually accommodate all the different ways to build JC. The game has flaws for sure but it still more RPG than most games to come out recently.

For OP, I've been playing some Endless Legend and Divinity: OS. Both flawed but pretty fun games. Divinity especially has issues but still manages to be really good thanks to how fun it is to build characters.

Lost Planet 2
StarTopia
Ark: Survival Evolved
