In the case of Metroid, in order to not be perceived as more kiddie ninty shit, it'd have to be photorealistic, and I don't think they'd get away with Borderlands' cell-shaded either.

Photo-realistic graphics, good gameplay and a good story will go a long way with this series.

Metroid is a realistic game, so photorealistic graphics are good. I suppose that's the one substantial thing you DID say: that Metroid should improve its graphics by making them more realistic, as opposed to more stylized. Still, since everyone knows that Metroid has a realistic artstyle, I figured that that should go without saying.

Even if it doesn't go without saying that photorealistic graphics are equivalent to good graphics in Metroid's case, you've said one thing that kind of matters, and even then, it's something that everyone knows. You're not saying anything wrong. In fact, you're not saying anything at all. Everyone knows that Metroid could use more realistic graphics. Everyone knows that Metroid (along with literally every game) will benefit from improved gameplay and story. Boringlands Too and the DLCquel are great as far as controls and mobility go. You see something, and you can run and jump to it without much hassle. If you took the engine, and made a Metroid Prime game with it, and it had no SJW bullshit or Captain Cuck writing, I would at least make an effort not to run Pansy Bitchfraud's ass over if I saw him while driving.
