Good, indepth, autistic sandbox games

Minecraft was amazing when you focus on Redstone. Terraria was alright because of it's sheer depth, maybe not on the wiring front but with other content.

What the fuck else is there? I ground both into fine dust with the amount of playtime I sank in them. I need to occupy myself with autistic tinkering

Factorio
OpenTTD
Robocraft, if you like heavy machinery and PVP.

The holy grail of autism, Dorf Fort.

SpaceChem
Infinifactory

I played Robocraft for a while until I realized that it's unbalanced as fuck. What's OpenTTD?

Also, what's Factorio all about?

I should play Dorf Fort because I think I'm at the stage where I need weaponized autism to soothe myself. One day… One day I'll get over the ASCII.

What's that one imgur/reddit siege game where you make shitty siege engines?

OpenRCT2

For a sandbox game, no, not Spacechem, you want Infinifactory.

O lad. Minecraft.
The update that brought shulker boxes, I made an ATM that brought up a safety deposit box when you gave it a key. Never saw youtube videos for that. I also did parcel mailing. Thousands and thousands of hours into that game.

Factorio is great user. Basically, you start out punching trees and go all the way to laser turrets and space shuttles. It also has a detailed pollution system that is deliciously autistic and power armor.

All about making factories, more factories, oil refineries, everything. You can get some serious comfy from a well built facility. Go pick up a copy. If you have it on (((steam))) I think you can play multiplayer easily.

Besiege is also really good. I've been playing medieval engineers recently. You can make castles with an autistic amount of realism, they even have machicolations, and structural integrity. You can also make siege engines. I saw a couple people make automatic catapults.

Besiege

It only seems unballanced because you try to main one type of mech and neglect others, minmax your build, and get assravaged by more robust, more versatile or simply hard-counter mechs. Know your strengths and know your weaknesses, pick your fights carefully.

You build automated factories. Asshuge factories with high complexity out of vanilla and convolution up the ass in the mods.

The good old DOS game Transport Tycoon Deluxe. You deliver cargo and passengers using complicated system of railroads, road vehicles, aircraft and ships. Has fuckton of mods that put amount of content through the absolute fucking roof.

Aurora

I built a prawn-type railgun hover with a shitton of tiny lasers on the belly and three railguns on the top.

I assfucked both the flying niggers and the fat mechs by softening them up and then disassembling them bit by bit with the 14-16 tiny laser guns. Won like 80% of the games I played.

Thats why I think it's fucked, not because I got blasted.

Yeah bullshit. Hovercraft can't fly nearly high enough for underside cannons to be useful. And railgun accuracy is an absolute ass if the craft is not 100% stationary, unless you're on a land based vehicle it's as good as useless. That's not to mention that lasers max out firing speed at 8 units and anything past that is a redundancy at best and a deadweight that drags you upwards against tougher mechs at worst.

Oh and, of course, assuming any of that is true, the only way you could put 14 lasers on a single vehicle is if you're using lowest tier equipment. But yeah I don't buy any of that. Proper railgun user would fuck you up and you couldn't even reply because you'd have precisely zero mech stability to aim your railguns, proper aircraft would destroy your whole upper deck in a single salvo leaving you defenseless against it, and that's even not to mention cunning individuals who use flak cannons and homing missiles against land targets.

I've never seen an autism supernova this beautiful

You're a lone warrior on an alien planet filled with murderbugs, and your only skill is building shit that builds other shit. It's global warming via construction of massive belt arrays. It's an assembly line that assembles imperialism via tens of thousands of gear wheels and computer chips. It's exploitation of finite and ever-dwindling ore and oil across miles of train track. It's Mars Attacks! with a set of self-constructing Legos. Eventually you get to the point where you can compress enough tons of raw resources into a tiny space, that you go all Starship Troopers on those insect fuckers and burn their homes to the ground in invulnerable power armor while a few hundred mechanized flying killbots hover around you and end their lives in flashes of hot plasma chaos. When you have reached the point where the gaping maws of these dump-truck-sized horror shows are like the nipping of chihuahuas at the heels of your shining mechanical jackboots, and the world is filled with smoke and steel and concrete and ever-humming machinery as far as the eye can see, you will have reached the pinnacle of your role as the new Harbinger of Death of this unnamed planet.

…also you need to launch a rocket or something, for some reason, to beat the game.

It could be used for any number of actually interesting things, but for every one adult building something decent there's 100 shrieking autistic grade schoolers. Now it's basically Shitrim kiddy edition

polite sage

There was a guy on the Hermitcraft server that made a bank vault that functioned exactly like that. Great minds think alike, I suppose.

Factorio is all about those belts and inserters, nigga. You can also channel your inner Starship Trooper like how they did in the book, not the movie and slaughter bugs but the real appeal is calculating exactly how many of each assembler you need to get the ratios of each component produced in the right amount of time to have a constantly flowing factory without backed up belts or delays.
Also the trains move at the speed of sound and will plow straight through you without remorse if you play on the tracks. You have been warned.

Space Engineers is my autistic sandbox of choice lately. Build all sorts of ridiculous spaceships, mine for resources, fend off pirates, etc.

There's not much building but for Elona is a great sandbox game.
You can build around in your house or other lands you own.
Almost every game mechanic is based on sandobxing, it's like dorf lite but more focused simulating a life of adventure.

Space Engineers has content now?

It always had content. It just used to be a lego box with multiplayer before they added pirates and aliens, which was over a year ago now.

But did you make pokemon in minecraft?

Yesterday i was playing with some friends on my hamachi server and i built my door an xor switch activated by two levers, one inside one outside, for the metal doors of the house.
It's pretty neat this stuff is allowed but i wish the base game had wall placings of redstone, that'd save so much space.

Probably not the autism you're looking for, but Pulsar Lost Colony has fairly in depth space ship mechanics. Cooling systems, weapons, shields, and what not. You'll probably want other people to play with since there are 5 roles for the ship. Although if you can harness the true power of autism, you could still have fun manning the ship alone.

Is there a Holla Forums server

god forbid.
im sure you know that theres mods that have that kind of stuff though.

KSP can be autistic if you go in depth
notable example being the guy who made a rotating space station in order to create gravity in space

Why did I trust you?

Redstone paste mod, lets you add a slimeball to anything redstone including comparators and repeaters, you can then place them on any surface, and it's a bit of an upgrade to vanilla redstone in that there's no distance limit on it (that I know of).
Alternatively, depending on the version of minecraft, there are various wireless redstone mods, some mods that allow you to make miniature circuits that can fit in a single block space, or make color coded redstone cables.

It sounds like you don't even need video games. You should get into programming.

I used to watch Direwolf20 build flying mining platforms that would mine, sort, an process huge shafts of z-levels all the way to bedrock, does he still 'tism, or did he stop?

There was a Minetest server but it died because they refused to whitelist.

This is impressive, not necessarily because of the ambition or scope of the project, but because Unity physics is such a shitshow.

Where did I say the word "worthwhile."

You're in a thread talking about autistic sandbox games. What the fuck were you expecting it to be?

I think interest in him died when he started exclusively spending time reviewing and re-reviewing and doing tutorials for the FTB circlejerks.
People probably got really sick of seeing the same few mods over and over again even if shit like thaumcraft kept overhauling all the mechanics in each new version.
Then he tried branching out into new autism simulators like Empyrion and Space Engineers, but I would bet money that nobody really watched those videos.

Sometimes, I think I'm glad Holla Forums is dying.

ss13 is really only applicable if you're into roleplay, and even then some admins ban you for murderboner if they don't like how you play

hah, no.

/tg/station is very light to no roleplay, everyone just acts based on gameplay only. if anything it suffers from power-gamers who try to bumrush items at round start for advantage

same thing for murdering, if someone is being an asshole to you and takes it too far, if they act like an antagonist, they're valid to be murdered. If you're antag, then murderboning is completely allowed. Only the shitty servers like paradise and yogstation ban for excessive force.

On paradise station, I got banned as antag for setting off 4 max cap bombs in sec and killing 13 people.

on /tg/station, I can kill the entire 74 player server and nobody would bat an eye.

ive been playing factorio with some mods. it's been my kind of autism

Empyrion - Galactic survival

Is this autistic fun game?

Isn't this game essentially a roguelike? That's how normalfags try to copy real autism.

What's the best survival sandbox game?
I don't consider Factorio to be survival, as the only thread are alien geckos that want the candy in your trousers, and the environment itself is only there to be exploited.
Still a fantastic game, though.

What the actual fuck?

Rodina's a little bare for an autism game but I like making bases.

I meant Rimworld

Dorf Fort can be "survival" if you embark to a really hostile location, like one that is super cold or one that has necromancers and shit everywhere.

Minecraft can be survival if you mod it to bardo and back so the world is filled with mobs that can one-shot you and you have to fulfill lengthy and complex crafting recipes to defend yourself.

The Long Dark is clearly survival, but it hovers on that edge of being good and being annoying. This is because it's both super-realistic (things like how you take damage and how the environment affects you) and not realistic enough.

Subnautica is something I've heard a lot of good about, but I know nothing except the basic premise.

Building parts for your factory that builds factory parts.

Embed marketting worked :^)

From the depths

speaking of minecraft…. :^)

I suppose. I know I built that about a day after the update hit.

I also, if you'll believe me, invented a lot of sorters and shit seen on Mumbo's channel, I just never made videos or publicized it. I don't care about
Just want it notarized that I did it first. That or an invitation to hermitcraft, so I can build shit there. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have a couple parcel delivery systems too. Uses the shulker boxes, a minecart rail, and an item to determine recipient's address. The largest one returns the postage (address item you put in to mail the package) to the sender.

Fuck, I kind of want to play minecraft again but I have no clue what I want to build and on the flipside nobody to play it with.

Shit, another one I did was (I remember having two versions.) A small, modular brewing machine that accepted items from a hopper line above it. You could stack them side by side. Once it received a stream of items it would shut off and start brewing automatically. I stuffed a recipe selector and modular sorting array on top of it to sort and send potion ingredients through it.

Could we get a Holla Forums server for minecraft, or if we have one, sauce pls?

1) Nice dubs. Checked
2) Shilling server.. If I wasn't looking for a reason to genuinely play, I would disregard this.
Tell me more.

You have to be fucking joking with me.
HELLO! ME AND MY 15 IDENTICAL BUDDIES WILL SIT ALMOST EXACTLY 5 KM OFF YOUR Z AXIS AT ALL TIMES. IF YOU COME NEAR US WE WILL START SPAMMING TURRET DRONES AT YOU. HAH HAH HAH.
I ran out of things to do in space engineers.
What about space culture? ACTUALLY DECENT AI. (Heresy for KSF, it seems.)
Some stations, things to do? Moons would have been plenty but MUH PLANETS.
-Nothing preventing the best ship in the game from being a tube of heavy armor with thrusters and turrets sticking out.

-No heat to worry about. This means I don't have to engineer a system to disperse heat, even if it is just through conveyor pipes like everything else.
-No newtonian flight physics, which means I don't have to engineer a proper ship, even if they allow gyros to compensate for improper thrust balance. (That would be best, actually.)

IMO it's shit RN and has been since planets when they incorrectly took focus off of space.

I've been playing medieval engineers right now in between For Honor application crashes. The autism levels are so high they even added machicolations recently.

It's awful don't buy it, unless you like filling the hunger bar every 5-10 minutes. Block placement and removal is also retarded as hell.

Here is a pic related from For Honor for toll.

It's a political roleplaying simulation server that invites all sides of the autism spectrum to culminate in one giant autistic screech.

fun shit.

You can also apparently fuck with autistic children online if you want to as well. You can even play online with a a pirated version if it's up to date.

Huh.
-Do they wipe map, ever?
-What version they running?
-Any mod mods (not just plugins) that I have to throw a profile together for?
-Any limitations on clocks or redstone? Because that's all I can conceivably see myself doing, unless someone gives me wings and I construct a skybase. Rockets + wings + skybase is a good time.
-I don't know I might make a casino with redstone powered games. I've done a couple of those in my SP worlds, as well.
Most notably, pic related type game.

Not worth it's own thread, but one server mod I would quite enjoy would be different playable races with their own domains that all hate each other:
-Seraphs
Permanent wings, and they can thrust without rockets. 3 blocks tall, not much HP. Cannot dig deep into the earth, so metals are usually gotten by raiding.

-Dwarves
1 block tall, less HP. More crafting recipes- lots of extra mechanical shit not in vanilla, and metallurgic stuff. They get polearms, and new metals other races can't have. Can punch rocks and actually harvest them without tools. Burns in sunlight. Can brew ale. Cannot build above ground. (Hide underground is best solution.)
Not to mention, nameplates would be fully hidden when obfuscated by any opaque block, because the way it is is retarded, especially if you are trying to avoid someone else who wants to PvP you.

-Mer
Breathe underwater, moves fast underwater. Also spawns underwater. suffocates when on land (like the usual air bubbles but reversed.)

-Steve
Regular old steve

-Troll
This race is stuck in adventure mode, but they have absurd stats. Ground threat. Usually lives in caves.

Basically, one race gets the sky, another the sea; one race rules underground, and another is a threat above ground.
Steves are caught in between it all, but they are the greatest number. They all hate each other.

Bro Team Pill plays this exclusively to mine salt from kids like this. Go look at some of his stuff.

-no
-1.8.8
-no
-no
-That sounds cool

Sigh.
Well, at least the combat isn't retarded in 1.8.

This server is good shit, lads. Get on and get your buildfag on. Don't forget to join Solvada, the server's largest and most right-wing faction to date, and praise the divine Emperor who rules over us all :^)

Get one of the custom tile sets for DF. It replaces all the ASCII with tiles that are more representative of the game. It's not perfect, but it's a little better.

Oh man SS13 is the shit for autism

I like the idea of different races, and the best part is that it wouldn't be at all difficult to mod if you just did it with potion/enchant effects and stuff.

For example: Mer have permanent water breathing, depth strider, and aqua affinity. I think there's also something you can do with fire ticks to make a player literally always on fire; of course they won't die from this fire so long as they stay underwater all the time.

I've been playing memecraft with these mods. It's fun.

plus some other things like biomes o' plenty, custom npcs etc.
Now I just need a mod that adds bizarre mobs that can serve as aliens and shit like that.
I want to make abandoned ships and stations sometimes filled with warp abominations for players to explore and find loot. have them spawn on the space and warpspace dimensions from warpdrive using recurrent complex, but I have no idea what mobs I can use.

When /vg/ station first implemented ZAS I pressurized escape to 4k+ after hooking up 16 volume pumps straight from O2 into the station air line
When the shuttle was called people that opened the door to escape were being thrown all the way to the other end of the escape hallway for ten minutes straight until people built walls behind themselves to get close enough to jam the doors open

Please Sensei, teach me.

The basic things you have to keep in mind is

Then once you have that figured out, you can apply it to Toxins, which is just taking cold air and making it expand as fast and as explosively as possible

When the mod is created, you copy the class or methods responsible for drowning damage, and just change it so it applies when underwater != true, or whatever they use to keep track.
That way you use the regular suffocation but when above water.

Different stuff, but lots of custom code.

Seraphs wouldn't have a chest armor slot coded into their gui, but they would just be coded with elytra on. Different model, I suppose. Give 'em 3 hp hearts, and immune to fall damage.

Could make trolls alergic to rain if you wanted to keep them in caves more often.

Lifeweb

Is there actually a decent mob mod for minecraft? All of the ones I've seem are trash

SS13 has a horrible fanbase even on here, SS13 is actually autistic while what OP means by autistic is just something to get hooked on but not pig-retarded simple.

Barotrauma

what the
FUCK?

Only hyperautists still use ascii.
Get a tilepack that changes everything to little pictures. There's a lot of them, much like a texture pack for Minecraft.

I think there used to be a DortFort 3D mod that showed layers above and below, but it's been years since I played DF.

atm i'm enjoying creativerse

it's an all around improvement over minecraft imo

also, Empyrion - Galactic Survival and Children of a Dead Earth are two games I dug up that look promising but haven't actually gotten them

You're doing that to escape the planet.

is Rodina any good?

are there mods for creativerse?

Creativerse sounds pretty good with all the liquids and stuff. The only problem is that the wiring looks awful and dumbed down.

OP, since it hasn't been mentioned let me first say that I played games like Terraria, Minecraft and Rimwold a lot and love those games, but after finding Kenshi, I doubt I'll ever touch those games again yeah right anyways, Kenshi is an sand-box, open world post-apocalyptic survival game. You have a series of starting choices and start as either 1 guy or upto 5, after that you can recruit people, dogs, bulls, robots, various other races until you have a total of 30. You can build a base, you can farm, your can invade cities, you can search for tech, or you can just wait with some dude and try to rob someone's store while they are sleeping. It's a fucking amazing game and I started playing with the first Kenshi thread a couple of weeks ago and now we are on thread 3.

8ch.net/v/res/12368994.html

I think Terraria and Minecraft belong in their own genre or category of gameplay.

Would Oxygen Not Included be considered a sandbox?

Well, its side scrolling Dwarf Fortress clone. A solid one i might say.

Factorio is best played with a single other autistic friend and you two both are constantly fucking with each others shit trying to quell your own autism while flaring up the others.

it's pretty fun
just spent a couple of hours on trying to get oxygen production up through the use of electrolosys which caused heating issues since the water I use comes from a geyser, so I have to spend some time on building a cooling system

What version is it?
Can a cracked client play it? I really don't want to buy the game.

Disregard first question, didn't read on.
