Sounds like a good fit for Powerslave EX.

Mouth For War-Pantera, from the album Vulgar Display Of Power, which is the best album name ive ever heard and i want it as my stand.

Sometimes I really love you guys

Pantera was part of the original soundtrack, so yes

Bye-Bye American Pie was the second best piece of DooM's OST the first being Sign Of Evil and this is why.

...

If you want to appreciate 80s/90s metal, you gotta know where DooM's OST got its…"inspiration"

More Pantera because I love it

...

...

...

Last one from me

I'd post the Metallica songs that were part of DooM's inspiration, but fuck that. MORE SLAYER

...

...

Fuck the program, I'm deviating. I like chill music to counterbalance the extreme gore and shit.

...

I don't have it, but I know theres a Doom wad out there frequently packaged with Demonsteele called something like "Now That's What I Call Midi" that makes the music shuffle between midi renditions of a ton of metal songs.

I think this was the perfect equation, early 90's, thrash metal and grunge are playing in every radio, PC gaming is about to take everyone by storm, etc. It was fucking great
I wonder where shit started to take such an awful turn…

Now this one isnt exactly a part of DooM's OST, but fuck it. It's one of the best Slayer songs to blast durning a heavy thunderstorm.

Pantera, Metallica post Justice and Slayer post the first album a shit

However, this one WAS in the soundtrack

That was a really nice dump

These two are not available but the title alone is fucking rad. Source?

I should posted these songs with their DooM midi counterpart name, but i dont remember most of them.

I agree. Even if it wasnt original it was still kick ass

You stole the song i was just about to post, so have another slayer doom song. trying to get through most of them in order of band.

For metal it was somewhere around '95

Just search for it on Youtube.

...

Enough Slayer, have some MEGADETH while you'rerunning from evil

...

Vulgar Display of Power is a pretty fucking awesome name for a stand.

Since that's taken, I guess I'd have to settle for Dick Dogs.

So like I mentioned, the best piece of DooM's midi OST was Sign Of Evil…Wondering what the "inspiration" behind that is? Then here you go.

For rock in general I'd say after Cobain an hero'd himself
I thing his influence took away an important part in rock music: it's fucking balls

there's good metal post '95.

it's just extremely hard to find

A few Alice In Chains songs were used. I think im about to exhaust DooM's OST "inspiration" and move on to some personal picks of mine. Glad this thread is a thing today.

If anyone wants to see the full list of inspirations for DooM 1,2 and TNT doom.wikia.com/wiki/Doom_music

Im gonna dig through my playlist and pick out some stuff.

Let's get the ball rolling with some DIO

...

FOR SHAME!

I also might or might not be posting the inspirations behind a certain vampire stand user

Of course there is, just because things went south fast doesn't mean that anything post-'95 was shit, and it didn't start becoming extremely hard to find good metal until nu metal, metalcore and the hipster invasion of contemporary metal turned everything to shit.

Maybe because Discharge is HC punk?

Take this thread to /mu/.

I'll take you to /mu/faggot But fine, if you wanna make it more vidya related aside from DooM, here's MEGADETH doing the Dook Nookem theme

...

Do you want /mu/ to become a dead board? Don't bring it to Holla Forums just because you would get replies faster.

Incoming best song with best music video. does anyone know if the batman TAS animators worked on this? the style is very similar.

I never posted or lurk /mu/, I just saw this thread and decided it would be good to jump in.

some ozzy, because why not

I dont know if we're getting into meme territory or if people like this but WA-A-A-AH

And a few Rob Zombie songs.

...

Fuck that, listen to some 2000's power metal

And now im going to sperg out and post SOAD.

V-ROCK IS STILL THE BEST GTA RADIO

It's time to stop posting.

whats wrong with System of a down? they have good songs.

ECW! ECW! ECW!

Here a modern one, but i dont know what classifies as "nu-metal" mostly because i never heard the term before

Not quite there

Jap metal is GOAT

...

Good taste my nig.

But now you've invalidated it. Serj Sandnigger is fucking unbearable as a singer. And you can kill yourself for posting Marxists for the Machine.

Let's get some first wave black metal in this bitch.

This album techincally borders into hardcore but it's still pretty metal

...

Prong was part of that 80s New York scene that straddled the edge between hardcore and metal, much like Carnivore/Type O Negative. Once the 90s rolled around they became more metal and eventually industrial. Then they reformed and played more metal again.

...

I'm surprised no one's posted Carnivore/pre-Bloddy Kisses Type O stuff. Peter Steele would've been crucified if this stuff came out now.

...

Yeah I was just saying that in the context of the thread. Tommy Victor produced quite a few NYHC records in the late 80's and used to do sound in CBGBs around that time.

Props for posting from Carnivore's debut, possibly my favorite NY metal album.

No kidding

I like playing Race War when I play Moonman Doom.

I'm a spic

Steele also penned the lyrics for this tune Agnostic Front did.

Only Stone Cold made Disturbed bearable

...

Though I should specify Peter got shit in Europe when Slow Deep and Hard came out. It's depressing seeing that Euorpe was already turning into a socialist shit hole by 1991.

If I recall correctly it was due to Der Untermensch and the fact that Type O still played some old Carnivore songs when SDaH came out, most notably Jesus Hitler.

Yeah, and as a result a bunch of socialists threatened to bomb a venue the band would play at.

Well at least the bands under GOMMUNISM were still pretty good.

Vid related, it's literally the most slav band I know

...

I'll check em out, as I've wondered how bands could record under a dictator. Thanks user

I swear to god I thought that Angel Witch's and Satan's vocalist were the same guy

Hell no, tonally they're kinda similar but Brian Ross' vocals are a lot more powerful than Heybourne's. TBH based on vocals alone, Angel Witch are kinda mousey.

No problem man, vid related is another slav rarity, which I'd stylistically label as brutal power metal. Not kidding, riff and songwise it's a nice mix between Euro PM and USPM but the delivery is among the most unique I've ever heard. The guitar tone is ridiculously raw and the vocalist sounds like he's Lemmy's russian cousin, with a diet of cheap slav cigs and vodka.

This vinyl rip kinda sucks and lacks low end, but it'll give you a general idea. I have the full album with better sound on soulseek, look for it with the anglicized text.

chainsaw pickup music

Also, thread's bumplocked apparently

Yeah I've noticed since about 8 hours ago

I mean this is basically a /mu/ thread in disguise but fuck, try starting a metal thread in /mu/ and watch it get shitposted to oblivion.

does it have to be 80s?

To be frank, any generation of metal works so long as it fits with the game. It's 80's due to the high amounts of quality metal that came around the period, and the stylistic songwriting choices from those days, which lead to high energy demon slaughtering tunes.

Spot the vidya song that gets posted every fucking vidya music thread

I usually post it if someone hasn't yet :^)

...

...

incoming shit flinging

...

...

Doesn't help that /mu/ is into absolute entry level bullshit black metal like burzum and stuck in that 2009 era mindset of being a bunch of hipster cucks too cool to listen to anything before 1995, unless it's done ironically.
