Samurai Jack gets a new season after 13 years

Besides Kid Icarus Uprising and Duke Nukem, what popular video games got a direct sequel after over a decade of time?

Custom Robo, F-Zero, Golden Sun and Densetsu no Starfy 5 for the Nintendo Switch

...

How about a good series

bet y'all haven't even played this, it's pretty good.

Damn it, how could I forget this?

is that really a sequel?

It got good after it stopped being all pixely and shit

Oh fuck, I forgot what I was even doing. Was this like a weird reboot/remake or something like that? The fact that the game almost feels so much like the original must have taken me for a ride there.

Wasn't there a Wii game?

If a game is shit, upping the graphics won't help.

There's a JRPG series about Heracles called "Glory of Heracles" that got a DS remake ten years after the last game.

Invader Zim's coming back too I think
The "pick up an old franchise people liked and bring it back" craze moved from movies to TV and now to cartoons, but I don't think it's really hit vidya yet

System Shock 3

it happened a lot in the 90s with games. remember Centipede on Dreamcast or Robotron on N64?

I'm not in my 30's/40's and my parents didn't buy a whole lot of shovelware, so no I don't

You fucking what? Really?

Get outta here, kid. I bet you grew up with the fucking Wii.

Hasn't Invader Zim been back in the form of comics for awhile?

If you count teenage years, then sure
The wii came out a decade ago user

Reboot is coming back but it's doing that half live action tv series thing that Code Lyoko did a while back.

Breath of Fire came back.. as a mobile game though. Can't really think of any other games that came back after a long gap of time and turned out good.

Highly underrated game imo. I tried playing the old one awhile back and it was just too fast for me. I just kept dying over and over. Another problem was that the levels were incredibly confusing and overwhelming. My brain just kind of shutoff after a while. This game has captures the kickass feel, but also let's you have fun even if you're not some guy who spends all day playing video games. You also don't have to spend all your time looking for the way to go.

I hated that show, the characters reminded me of every screaming little faggot younger than me and it's no wonder most of them grew up to be useless entitled little cunts.

Punch-Out Wii

Deception IV came out in 2014, 9 years after the last game in the series did. Then released an enhanced edition in 2015 that adds a whole new campaign along with making all of the protagonists from previous games playable.

I'd argue that the enhanced edition was GOTY of 2015.

Yes, which was a reimagining/reboot. Heck, you could argue the North American copy of Blaster Master was a reboot of the Japanese version.

Pac-man, Asteroids, centipede, pitfall, Space invaders, Q-bert,

It happened a bit back in the 90's and it worked well. There was another brief surge in the 00's with spy hunter and rygar.

On the positive side

On the negative side

Mr. Shitface is an anagram for Tim Schafer

Don't forget Saber Marionette os also getting a new project being worked on.

Saber Marionette turned to shit. That series can fucking stay dead.

I think they may have fucked up Grr's voice actor.

Richard Horvitz was in his 30's when the show originally aired and he's in his 50's now, I'm amazed he can keep up the voice.

SimCity got a new game about 10 years after pic related, but it was such total shit that everyone wishes they hadn't.

It's not a sequel. It's actually hard to pin down what it is, because it's a remake and reimagining of Blaster Master, it keeps some of the canon of the Worlds of Power book, AND it's also a sequel to Metafight.

Overdrive goes in the trash receptacle with Blaster Master 2.
And probably Blasting Again. I need to actually play that to get more of an opinion on it.

I hate this meme of uploading a video that's just black with a minute of audio

Around 70% of the humor in Invader Zim was absolutely fantastic, the rest was just screaming TACOS and other stupid shit like that. If they bring back the original writers and clean up the script a bit I will be so goddamn happy. Shame about the fanbase being garbage but the show was legitimately good.

It was also the only entry in the series to come west (the prior four entries being fan-translated), and from what I recall, western critics were overall rather harsh on it. Also still easy to find sealed copies at low prices from NA vendors, and I'm not certain as to if that's telling of selling really damn poorly and massive lack of demand (perhaps due to the aforementioned critics) or if it somehow got a reprint. Either way, NoJ seems to have shitcanned it once again (being that they own the rights after Data-East went under), as there's been nothing in the last nine years since GoH V launched there aside from VC rereleases of some of the older ones.

Really, seems a bit odd though that it took so long for the series to come over, given the premise of it taking inspiration from Greek mythology. Certainly other franchises I'd think companies would have been a bit more leery of thinking there was a western consumerbase for back in the day.

Q*Bert Rebooted
Galaga Legions (first actual new standalone Galaga game since Destination: Earth)
Killer Instinct (3)
Conker's Big Reunion (sorta)
Splatterhouse reboot
Ninja Garden reboot series was like four generations after the originals

They better not fuck this up

Kinda a remake, kinda a sequel

Sin and Punishment.

There's no chance this is seriously happening. The show's creator hates the fans way too much to ever finally bring this back.

for shame
it totally counts even though it's just an update and not a sequel it was still 12 years between releases

Muscle slut.

It technically was released 12 years after original.
It is actually interesting because there is no decade gap. Because of Warcraft series it really just changed name and setting. Actual series was:
WC1 -> WC2 -> SC1 -> WC3 -> SC2
Just play SC2 it is much more sequel to WC3 than SC1.

Also Diablo also had 12 years gap but in this case fans should be happy for each year without new title in the series.

Speaking of Invader Zim
Why do I even look at art blogs anymore

[spoiler}I just fapped to it.[/spoiler]

How? These things seem like they'd go hand-in-hand.

Pretty sure J-Vas has matured a bit in that regard.

I just like his Shovel Knight drawings, I didn't expect to see cartoon characters from childhood.

how is this porn?

They will.

Well, porn is a strong word, I didn't know how else to word it other than "it's lewd" but that would have sounded too strange.

The original fans were obnoxious as all fucking shit, imagine them but also as millennials now.
