Already has been said in every Saturday Night Horror thread in recorded history (naturally didn't have one this weekend), but Scratches has a real great atmosphere that makes your hair stand up even when you only see the game's sole monster once or twice.

SOMA actually was fairly decent in the psychological horror department though the gameplay was extremely lackluster.

The indie adventure game Silvio has a quite interesting mechanic which requires you to record and decode EVPs via an old tape recorder, but again, the gameplay is very lackluster.

ZALGO was pretty scary, yeah.

Nope. It's a distinct "fan" video to some animator who previously worked for Disney and originally used the suits for some stupid art project, IIRC.

I should add that the two suits were stolen from him during a gig and the linked vid was later send to him via mail, with no further information as to who is behind it.

Seeing this at 2AM with no context was pretty unnerving.
The first time I saw it, my game also got a palette glitch where the colors suddenly looked like technicolor vomit.

Scratches was spooky until I realized that nothing ever actually happens.

White Day. It's a mix of horror and stealth gameplay where you have to solve puzzles, avoid killer janitors and ghosts. Ghosts love to hide in darkness, while janitors use light. The game has multiple ending and different obstacles depending on the difficulty chosen.

That game was creepy as shit. Was also one of the first games I've ever torrented.

It got a mobile remake too. slightly more scripted at first, but similar to the original.

Pathologic is probably the most unsettling one I've played. None of it is pants-shitting scary, but I'm yet to play a game that nails a true, legitimate feeling of dread, and the fact that something is "off".

Shit kept me up at night.

Holy shit, I fucking LOVE this kind of shit. Is there a name for this? All I can think of is this, omega flowey, those creepy fucking claymations and that one place in grim fandango.

In case you haven't figured it out, this whole channel is worth taking a look at.

Not so much spooky as a bit unnerving, but me and my brother use to play tag in Smuggler's Run a lot, and on one of the maps, the grass in the water looked a tiny bit like dead hands reaching up at the time, which seemed really out of place in that game, so I tried to avoid that area.
